Sadly the book (or couple of chapters, as it were), were actually really good and intriguing. But the "book" ended at 36%, after roughly 3 short chapters. The following books are all super short (54 pages I think the next one is), and 3 bucks a pop. If you want me to pay $20 for your story, actually create a book and put a price on it, don't try to trick people.
It is not a full story but it is only like 3 chapters compared to the length of an average book. It seems there are already 5 sequels out, and the final number of books is unknown. So : I love marketing, so I can understand splitting your book into parts to make more money, and keep the reader engaged (so much happens in just 1 book that I assume the others are really eventful).
What I do not like : Doormat virgin heroin that has been secretly in love with the asshole domineering "likes it when women randomly kneel" hero forever Asshole male characters. Seriously they all suck, and since it is a super short read they did not have time to gain redeeming qualities
Will i read more? No. I might have fallen for the "buy X books to have the whole story" concept if the characters had been more relatable or less OTT,or if the h had some kind of a backbone. I will admit that I am very intrigued about what will happen next, so the writting is good 🤓
This book is awful. I’m not even going to finish it. I love dark romance and strong heroes, but this one is not written as an alpha male, he’s written as a bully and the heroine is really weak and insipid. I don’t get how everyone else gave this 5 stars, but you can judge for yourself. I’ll pass on this writer.
Winter created a mask for herself long ago. One that included her to be positive, upbeat and never scared. She keeps a fake smile on her face. She lived with her step-brothers who abused her while her step-father was in jail. He would be home soon enough to take back control of the evil in the house. She worked the bar on week-ends saving money so she could get away from her so called family and pay for college. No one knew, but she intended to leave in six months. That's all she was waiting for. After a year of being in prison, Caden was back. He hated Winter, yet here he was. As scared as Winter was to wind up in front him after all this time, she was more scare of having to deal with the consequences that came along with disobeying him. She'd forgotten what it felt like to be humiliated by Caden Dean. He didn't just mock you or knock you down a peg or two. He crucified you. Slowly. Deeply. Meaningfully. Laura Avery has introduced us to two individuals that will absolutely give you chill bumps when they come into contact with one another. There's an underlying hostility brewing and we're given a blank answer without any details. This appears to be a dark, exciting, nerve wracking series coming into play and I don't want to miss the next one.
A well written short story with nice storyline and plot.
It is a raw story about about two characters that fall in love without realising it. Enemies to lovers theme that keeps you on the edge. It is captivating from first to last chapter. It really surprised my several times because it just keeps mixing drama, action and steam in a way I had not suspected. I like the hint of kink the author has included but I am not that much into cliffhangers, but I have to wait.
I really enjoy a good enemy to lovers romance so this was right up my street, I am not over keen on cliffhangers but I did enjoy this book and hope I don't have to wait long for the next part.It was well written and a little on the dark side so I loved it, I was pulled right into Caden and Winters story and I am looking forward to part two.
Ok, well I hate ongoing series and normally never start them before all the books are out so I can read straight through BUT I can’t resist reading Laura’s books! So now we have Quiver and Tremble on the go! Hope the next books in both don’t take long coming out! I’ll be checking everyday 😳😊 I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nothing annoys me more than reading a ‘book’ that isn’t more than a chapter in length and doesn’t even provide an actual plot with an ending. I don’t mind book series but each book needs to provide its own story. It hasn’t even taken me an hour to read this!
Spelling errors and the author for her own character's name wrong! It's so short i think it's a preview so I look up the 2nd book which is get this 2.99 for 54 pgs? Nope not worth it! Put them all in one book and charge 2.99 like legitimate authors!
This is book one in this fantastic dark romance series. Come join Winter as she tries to make it out from under Caden and her horrible stepbrothers. Loved this first book, I had all these emotions running through me while reading this captivating book. Can't wait for book 2.
Don’t waste your time and money; This was the same as Quiver, except instead of emery and Jackson, we have Winter and douchebag Dean. Same sex line huge cock, big cock, you’re a pro. Are you sure you’ve never suck a cock before? Swallow...Blah, blah, and more blah.!
I really don't get the 25 pages each "book" sah in this series, it's like they took a regular length book and speard it in pieces to make more money, a waste of time to wait every month for a new chapter.
This book is the beginning of the series where a girl obsessed from a distance for someone she can't have. I can't already tell I shouldn't enjoy this series but I know I'll love every disturbing word.
WTF it started off so good but then just ending . There is nothing anywhere that says it’s a cliff hanger . How long will I have to wait ? Is there going to be like 3 or 4 books ?
