Love or lust? Brianna can’t remember and Fallon isn’t sure, but fate put them in front of each other with the same finding the Book of Divinity. When Brianna awoke, her body was battered and a year of her life missing. Surrounded by strangers, all claiming her the guardian of a sacred book, she was rightfully skeptical. She’d not escaped one cult to get dragged into another. The last thing Fallon Tegan wanted was to claim his mate. He’d spent his life mediating his family’s squabbles, and he didn’t want another burden. But to save her life, he bonded them, tied their souls together. Even as he doubted his decision, he couldn’t regret the feel of her in his arms. Time is short, and the stakes high as they work together to help Brianna recover her stolen memories and recover a book that could very well end their world.
Dria Andersen is a full-time photographer, mother of two, and lifelong storyteller. After the birth of her first child, she made a promise to pursue her dreams boldly-starting with writing the kinds of stories she always wanted to see in the world. That leap of faith became her debut novel, and she's been writing ever since.
Dria crafts love stories that center brown girls with heart, strength, and agency. Blending romance with elements of fantasy and wonder, her books invite readers into richly imagined worlds where anything is possible and everyone deserves a happy ending.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Black fantasy novels are the shit and exactly what I never knew I needed. You’re a genius Dria, please write the next one quickly haha
I wish I had more to say about this one. There's nothing wrong with it, but for me it simply fell into the dreaded "meh, it was okay" category. :/
I liked the interesting world Dria's creating here, and the writing was good. The buildup to each sex scene was a bit hotter and more satisfying than the actual scenes, IMO. Still, not at all bad!
I'd read another from Andersen.

I will be talking about the book on my next Whatcha Reading? podcast which will go up on TBQ's Book Palace Saturday (03/17).

I continue to be a fan of Ms. Andersen’s work. Her books are well-developed and engaging. This book is the second in a three-book series. Each book is centered around one brother finding his mate, but the main conflict continues throughout the entire series.
This book is about the middle brother, Fallon. Even though we are introduced to Fallon in book one, we learn more about him, his family, and their relationships in this book. We also continue to see the growth and change in Leo and his new family. The main conflict continues as the brothers and their mates move closer to the climax. Very well done!
This was an adventurous read. Even though by mid way or just a little bit before, kind of guessed what, who and why. Buy it was still fun to read.
The chemistry between Fallon and Brianna is truly palpable to not just them, but to those who meet them. Both in the story and for those who read about their lives.
I am definitely looking forward to seeing more from the Tegan Clan.

Although Fallon tried to run from his mate, not prepared to take on yet another responsibility, the fate of the Gods prevailed. Brianna was a badass and I really enjoyed her character. From the very beginning she took no crap and stood her ground, even when she didn’t remember what she was standing against. By the way Fallon loved her before he even understood it was swoon Worthy!
Man, Brianna worked my nerves for the first half of the book. She was so bullheaded and downright insufferable. It literally took me 3 tries to read the book. That’s how much I disliked Brianna. However, the storyline is so good and intriguing that I had to push past my dislike of her to get through the book so that I could move on to the final book. Fallon was cool but they can’t hold a candle to Leo and Lilliana.
Love is definitely in the air with this book!!! I really enjoyed this story and couldn’t get enough of Fallon and Brianna🥰🥰 It was so sweet seeing these two blossom together and fall in love. Fallon having someone to love on him and take off care was just what he needed and Brianna her response to everything was entertaining One of my favorite scenes, when he takes her to the beach for the first time
Unfortunately I passed this author several times before finally deciding to read the first Haven novel out of desperation for something to read. I’m so glad I did as these first two Haven navels have been really good. I can’t wait to read the last one and then get started on her other series that I’ve passed up.
I would have never thought Fallon was running from his mate but with the example of his parents I can see why. I am wondering if the last kokoro soul is for Xavier. Can't wait to see what happens next
Loved it, loved it! This story had an air of mystery and thrill that kept me reading. The FMC is strong and loving. She is the one to have your back, the MMC made the love story come to life.
