It's the end of something simple. And the beginning of everything else. Sometimes life happens even when you're not sure you're ready for it. In Capeside, the sleepy New England coastal town where teenagers Joey, Dawson, Pacey, and Jen live, this year the river is running fast. Choices will be made, and chances will be taken. Promises will be broken, and desires revealed. https://openlibrary.org/books/OL24201...
I bought eleven of these Dawson's Creek books for £5.50! It is no secret to anybody in my life i am a huge Dawson's Geek. This show has been my favorite since i was 13 and i am now 36. However, i was not sure what to expect all the same but i knew it would take a lot for me to hate these books. Given, my go to reads are usually Horror in nature it was still a test for me. Surprise, Surprise.. i thoroughly enjoyed my trip back to 1998. This particular book is a novelization of the first episode although there were parts i could not remember like the "headless joey thing" but maybe i need a re watch. What i enjoyed about this book was how much more detail you get from reading to simply watching. I enjoyed the authors descriptions of Wilmington/Capeside a place i love so much. I enjoyed learning small things like what Gramp's was cooking in the kitchen as apposed to just watching her cook. All this being said i am glad that after this book they decided to create fresh stories for the books as i am looking forward to new adventures. At roughly 40k words this was a quick indulgent ride through nostalgia giving me a fresh view of something i have loved watching for years.
-Macmillan Readers, level 3 -Time:07/08=60 minutes -7-word summary friends/love/girl/boys/rich/poor/visit -Discussion question Q:In this story, main charactors like watching movies. Do you like watching a movie? A:Yes,I do.I prefer watching movies than reading books.
I'm enjoying reading this book.It has some series,so I want to read them too.
This book, which covers the first two episodes of Dawson's Creek, is part of the MacMillan Readers series and offers simplified language as well as a glossary for English language learners. The book definitely would've been popular while Dawson's Creek was airing, though I don't see it's relevance today, especially as an ESL book. That being said, clearly Dawson's Creek fans would read this book for the nostalgia.
Part of me feels embarrassed that I have just read this book. Even more so, I feel I should be mortified that I thoroughly enjoyed it, seeing as I'm 35 years old and counting. But I did. Even though I didn't necessarily consciously see it as such, it was delicious, and I devoured it in several quick bites. By way of justification, the stage of life I'm currently in is very much devoted to actualization - hauling myself out of bed to raise my delicious children and engage with my DH in a way that forces me to continuously be 'on' and encourages a perpetual reinvention into a better version of myself. Reading this book took me back to a simpler (albiet less rewarding) and more immature time when, as a teen, I lived in a world of ideals and potential. Anything was possible, and Dawson's Creek was part of the anthem.
It's nice to know I can drop back in time and visit Capeside. Never was there a more effective time machine.
And if you want my opinion on the screen to pages transformation, the author did a decent job. #backto1998
Ok i have finished it this morning right away, overall this is like teenage romance we always found out, at first i got this novel I thought yah that had been my favorite back then, cz when this serial was aired, i was little, that impossible i would watched it but of course i was so curious about, that will be continuing... Between another novel, yep to cure my curiosity on the past.. Maybe when i have it all in series i will do a marathon for 2/3 days x)
This novel uses 4 point of views as the cover, about joel and dowson who have been bestfriend for a long time, there's pacey their friend, their relationship is good at first, since there's a new girl came up in their life, yep like the title about 'the beginning of everything else' and the rest of it u have to read it by yourself
That's it i get to tell.. This novel is just reunion of me
I have had this series of books for a long time and meant to read them back in the day when I watched the series on TV. Now many many years later I am finally reading them :) If my memory serves me correctly, this pretty much reads like the tv shows. I enjoyed reading this book. A very quick easy read.
It was just like watching the TV episode. Honestly, I usually gravitate toward darker books, but this was exactly what I needed: short, sweet, and nostalgic. It has me wanting to time travel back to an era I never even experienced.
Cute. This series was one of my favorites growing up. I loved seeing it in book form. It's a fun trip down memory lane. Stays right on with the first episodes of series one.
