Arlene James has written romance for four decades, and has published 100+ novels. A mother of sons and now a happy grandmother to the brightest, most talented, and lovely of all granddaughters, she is finding her sixth decade to be great fun.

She and her very supportive husband of 45 years (whom she agreed to marry on their first date!) enjoy a busy social life and have visited much of the world. After calling Texas home for three decades, they now live in beautiful NW Arkansas.

Arlene grew up on a ranch in south central Oklahoma and still maintains strong ties in that area. She firmly believes that writing has afforded her the best of all possible means of earning a living, and credits a junior high school English teacher with proving to her that her dream of being an author was entirely achievable.

After 4 decades of deadlines and multiple-book contracts (for which she is deeply grateful), she is enjoying the ability to write exactly what she feels led to write on her own schedule.

Snap. Crackle. Pop. That's the fireworks going off every time Wyatt and Tina step into a room together! At first it's open hostility and then it's something much more dangerous. Still grinning just thinking about some of their tussles.

What a great intro to a new series! James gives lots of page time to all three brothers and I love the dynamics between them. Wyatt is the sage and steady older brother who is always ready to step in and support Jake and Ryder in whatever form they need. So when they inherit a cattle ranch and both his brothers are at a crossroads in their lives, they all quit the city and head to Oklahoma.

Loco Man Ranch is the perfect place for them to start over...unfortunately it is also the perfect second chance for Tina and her son. The Smith brothers may own the land but Tina has inherited the only house on the property. Yeehaw -- let the games begin! Snappy dialogue (sometimes snappish!) and lots of spirited give and take make this an easy read to speed through...but slow down and savor the wisdom and faith (and yes, a fight or two) courtesy of some engaging characters.

I am totally invested in these brothers and I can't wait to see what the author has in store for Ryder and Jake in future books. Hopefully book two will be out soon!

This is Tina Kemp and Wyatt Smith's story.
As Wyatt watched, a brunette of average height slid from behind the sedan’s steering wheel. Dressed in a simple gray skirt with a bright pink, sleeveless blouse, she presented a polished, feminine picture.
picture. Her short, stylishly rumpled, cinnamon hair framed a perfectly oval face with enormous, copper-colored eyes. Though she seemed oddly familiar, Wyatt couldn’t place her.
Then she parked her hands on her hips, tossed her cinnamon brown head and demanded, “What are you doing in my house?”
“Maybe Uncle Dodd didn’t specifically mention the house in the will because he considered it unlivable.” Wyatt Smith glanced at his brother Jacob and back to the old house in front of them.
Jake had only said out loud what everyone else was thinking. Barely a speck of white paint clung to the old two-story ranch house.
Its once green scalloped shingles had faded to a military gray. The front door hung slightly askew, broken glass and all, and the porch showed gaping holes where floorboards ought to be.
I highly recommend reading.
The Rancher's Answered Prayer by Arlene is a wonderful well written 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Arlene James.

Arlene James' Love Inspired book, The Rancher's Answered Prayer, is a feel good read. Tina Kemp is a divorced mom who has a skewed view of marriage based on her mother's many marriages. Tina wants to start over with her young son in War Bonnet, Oklahoma. Her beloved step father left her his house on Loco Man Ranch, but he also left the ranch and the land the house sits on to his nephew, Wyatt Smith. Now Wyatt and his brothers must learn to work and live peacefully with Tina and her son. I enjoyed watching how the characters changed over the course of the book. I liked the fact that the characters turned to their faith to get through tough times.

This is the first in the series, "Three Brothers Ranch." Wyatt Smith and his brothers inherit their Uncle Dodd's ranch. They pull up stakes in Texas and head to Oklahoma to become ranchers. The problem begins when they find out that Uncle Dodd has left the house itself to his step-daughter, Tina Kemp. Tina, divorced, with her resentful son, Tyler, is looking for a fresh start, and a way to keep her ex from taking her son away. Good storyline, good characters, and a satisfying ending. " God fixed it. He's got ways."

The Rancher's Answered Prayer by Arlene James. Tina Kemp's stepdad left the run down house and mineral rights to her when he died. He left the land to his three nephews. Tina has a little boy. One of the nephews has a little three year old boy. Tina had a bad marriage and now divorced and custody of her son. She is down on marriage. Can Wyatt Smith the one nephew change her mind? A very good and interesting read.

The Ranchers answered prayer

Tina inherited the house and Wyatt and his brothers inherited the land/ranch around it. The house is being restored while God is restoring their hearts.

Tina has a son named Tyler who is young and sometimes a lot to deal with. He just needs a little encouragement from a man since his father is not around. I loved the family environment in the story of Wyatt and his brothers. You will definitely love this book.

This is the first book that I have read from this author. I enjoy many of the Love Inspired books from this publisher, and I really enjoyed reading this one.

The storyline is a new one, too, of people that both inherited property from the same person and received "different" parts of that inherited property. Neither wishes to give up their rights and so they must work together to make it work and all come together.

The story is a fun one to read. Liked it very much!
