Volume 2: Chapter 7-12

In this volume, they just doing a training. And of course, there's a conflict between them, or to be precise girls' conflicts. Not much build up. Abiko and Fujimoto, who looks like Nishi and Izumi (in the OG) become their sifu as Abiko finished the game thrice and Fujimoto twice.

It's getting interesting as they started a new mission; to kill a mermaid alien. Duh! Fujimoto died instantly after being transferred.

Following on from the events of the last volume, this mainly focuses on their training, for their next mission. You get a look into the daily lives of the survivors as well, it doesn't focus too much on one person. So whilst you get to know bits about people, I never found myself attached or overly interesting in one person.

I'm not surprised they didn't focus on one lead, as that could have given away the ending. It is a bit of a double edged sword though, as you would care if they died. It's still a very entertaining, if not a bit hollow.

The series lost me in this volume. I only continued because I knew it ended after the next volume. The gossip girls backstabbing and clashing idols stuff didn't appeal to me. It also felt kind of lazy that the main character's name is only one vowel off from the main character in the original Gantz series.

Si tienes solo tres volúmenes, ¿por qué dedicarle tantos capítulos a trasfondo si ni siquiera me interesan todos los personajes? Si en el final todas y todos mueren, me sentiré satisfecho. No pasará, porque creo que irá por la vía cliché.

Well, I expected this to not be a good spin-off but it's insane how bad this second volume is.

La cosa parece que mejora en el segundo volumen pero sigue estando a años luz de las primeras historias. También influye que quiera que pasen las fases iniciales rápido para llegar a un punto parecido al que llegó Gantz en la serie original.

Las protas han conseguido 1 punto de carisma pero todavía les queda.
