Firm by Emma York

This story made me laugh and cry. Lucy got a new job and she has six months to prove herself. Her friend and roommate tells Lucy she has to be a mega-bitch to make it at Snow Day Publishing. Bill is a hands on billionaire boss who just happen to be sitting at a desk in Lucy's department on her first day, so she does know who he really is. She is very attracted to him but decides to take him to a conference out of town. She finds out they only have one room booked so she makes a bet whoever gets there first!!! You have to read this story it is the best. I highly recommend this story and any book by Emma York. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.

I read this book as an ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book! Lucy is starting a trial position at Sunny Day Publishing as the head of Adult Fiction. Her friend Anna is helping her prepare by rehearsing. See Lucy is a bit of a softie and Anna knows that she won't last if she doesn't act like a "Mega Bitch".
Lucy walks in the first day acting the part after an embarrassingly hilarious first impression. During her opening speech about being in charge while demanding everyone listen she ends an employee's phone call.
Little does Lucy know the "employee" is Bill her boss and the CEO of the company. Bill has bigger issues at the moment and is responsible for Lucy being hired. Marty Berghaus, their best selling author, has missed several deadlines. He tells Marty he has a final deadline of Friday and if he cannot fulfill it then he will go with another book. During meetings with his lawyers he realises that Marty's contract was written in great benefit to him. Sandra, an ex employee, wrote it.It incuded a clause that stated he would get to keep the advance in the event they dropped his book only if they had another book to publish. Problem was they had no book in mind. Bill and Lucy see each other throughout the day and in the days to come and both are very attracted. They happen to end up going to a conference together and after a interrupted heated moment in the hotel get seperated for quite a while. It leaves them both wondering how the other feels. And Sandra shows up making Bill know that it is real. He must rush back to the office and figure out a game plan. He only remembers when he recieves a manuscript that he asked a young woman to send it. After devouring it and loving it he must get an honest opinion from someone he trusts. When he gets the go ahead he realises he had lost the contract info and cover page!
He goes to Lucy's to explain everything and to ask if there is anyway she can find the owner of the manuscript and get a contract signed for her by 12 a.m. because safe is his last chance. Will Lucy figure out who it belongs to? Will Bill and Lucy give into temptation? Will Lucy make it past 6 months?
I really loved this book!! I enjoyed the storyline, it was unlike any I have read. Emma York is quickly becoming one of my favorites!!

I really liked this story. Fate puts us in the path of those people we are destined to meet. Lucy is trying to assert herself at her new position and singles out Bill to be her example. Little does Lucy know that Bill has a secret that even her "Mega-Bitch" attitude can't even imagine. They have insta-attraction and how they handle that is the gist of the story. There is some minor BDSM scenes but it adds to the storyline.

I really liked the build up and how it started with Lucy charging into her new position at Adult Fiction trying to have that confident attitude and Bill's smirking at her, it just brought out that want from Bill that something was different about her and now he has to persue this and have more. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. There is insta-attraction with secrets and and is a fun sexy read. I voluntarily read a readers copy of this book

Bill was the right person to help Lucy figure out what she wanted. He saw underneath her bravado. But he didn't know she was what he needed also. Something he never thought he wanted.

I voluntarily received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from Booksprout. This was an interesting story about a young woman, Lucy, her best friend and flat mate, Anna, and Bill, CEO of a publishing company where Lucy worked. Anna, a writer, was coaching Lucy as how to be a mega B*tch so that people would not walk all over her. Lucy on her first day at work had a few faux pas on of which being was to cut off an important call that Bill was on. She did not know he was the CEO but thought he was just a regular employee in her department. Bill was smitten at first sight, so was Lucy with him. Lucy natural tendencies were to get along with people and not cause any trouble. Therein lies the reason Bill was taken with her, he saw past her mega B*tch persona. Lucy and Bill got to know each as Bill deals with some legal issues regarding an author and Lucy has deal with going to a conference to network and find new authors. She chooses Bill to go with her and the relationship begins. A quirky kind of enjoyable read.

Lucy is hired for a high profile job in her new job and thinks she is in charge but really, she has no clue what she is signing up for. Bill is a billionaire CEO of publishing company who had just hired a young woman, Lucy, as head of a specific dept. Lucy has no clue who Bill really is…and that is when all the fun starts to happen; We have mistaken identity, one hot alpha male , steamy hot sex scenes and the insane attraction between the H/h that really has this story going. The relationship between Lucy and Bill is good, I would have liked to see alittle more emotional connection between them for they definitely had the physical connection. The ending was fantastic and I will definitely look forward to reading Ms. York again.

The Billionaires Club series just gets better with each new book I loved how Lucy marched into her new job as manager face first into the door than called everyone's attention so she could play the part as mega bitch to show them who's boss of course she really didn't have it in her heart to be that person. Bill the CEO of the company never let her know who he was as she yelled at him for taking her parking place. Their story just gets better as it plays out it has mystery, revenge, surprises, a little investigation, lust, some bdsm, it will make you laugh and have you feeling like crying but it will have an heavenly ending. I'm already on lookout for the next book.

Lucy thinks she is in charge but Bill has other ideas - in and out of work. This book had it all - mistaken identity, alpha male sex scenes and the instant attraction that leads to true love. The relationship between Lucy and Bill is what keeps the reader hooked into the book and is one of the reasons I would highly recommend this book.

I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review. This book was funny and sexy with some really hot sex scenes. Bill is a billionaire CEO of a publishing company who had just hired a young woman, Lucy, as head of erotic stories. She didn’t know who he was and she wanted to act as though she was a “mega-bad” boss! She actually was a cream puff who with her roommate Anna fed the hungry in their district. Anna had been injured and was an invalid writer who wrote BDSM books. The company’s biggest author was about to put the company in default. Bill is looking for a blockbuster book to save it!

This is quite an intriguing book and had lots of interesting twists and turns to keep it interesting. Lucy tries to be someone she is not, but Bill sees another side to her; can he coax her out of her childhood fears. Anna has written a manuscript but doesn’t want Lucy to use her position to help her publish it; she wants to get it published on her own merits or not at all. Sandra is only after Bill’s money, but after his rejection, colludes with Marty as an act of revenge. All in all a very interesting book that I would have no hesitation in recommending.

It was as a child that Bill first showed an interest in books. As the CEO of Snow Day Publishing, Bill has just offered Lucy a 6-month’s trial as an executive in Adult Fiction, where she has the chance to shape future book releases and have enough money to work on her project. Lucy believes she has nowhere near enough experience to run an entire office, but Bill has done his research and knew all about her, and her job at Kidtastic. Bill has a good team working for him, but as a hands-on person he also liked to help around the office when he could. This is a new post and a big step up for Lucy, but can she really show her assertiveness; it is not really in her demeanor to be strict or mean to people and was it even a good idea. As a dominant, Bill sees through Lucy’s charade; she is a submissive if ever he saw one, a natural too, so why is she acting like a big tough boss. Bill knew the truth and all the fighting and bluster couldn’t shield the reality from him. No matter what Lucy’s façade, Bill knew he had made the right choice in hiring her. Bill wonders how Lucy will react when she finds out who he really is after she has spoken to him so fiercely. At the upcoming Conference Lucy will soon find out who is really in charge, but can she desire something that scares her and has Bill misread the situation; either way will they ever get a second chance? But Bill has more immediate problems as the fate of his company rests on a single book to lead his summer promotional campaign. Bill’s hands are tied unless he can come up with a replacement blockbuster and cancel his contract with Marty and his scheming ex-employee Sandra. Bill needs another bestseller and is hoping he can find one at the Conference. Lucy’s housemate, Anna, has a manuscript and when Bill shows an interest in it, she sends him a copy. Bill has a book perfect to be a bestseller, but no author name and no contact details. This would be the next bestseller if the author can be tracked down but for this Bill needs Lucy’s help. Bill has always been in control, but this he cannot control. His fate, and the fate of so many, is in Lucy’s hands and all he can do is wait. Lucy has the manuscript and has just over 4-hours to find out who wrote it, get a contract drawn up and signed, and then send it to Marty’s lawyer. From the first time Bill met Lucy their roles seem to be reversed; she is relaxed, confident, calm and he is stress personified. But Lucy knew something that Bill didn’t; she has seen that manuscript before! Now it is time for both of them to be honest with each other and to see what the future really held. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Loved it

A light, steamy, light BDSM, romantic comedy. Lucy just go the job of head of adult fiction with Snow Day Publishing. Lucy is trusting and kind, so her best friend , Anna, puts her through her own brand of corporate boot camp.
Lucy 's first day as mega bitch boss doesn't go quite as planned. She has an Insta crush on her cocky, and to handsome for his own good, subordinate Bill.
Bill is the CEO of Snow Day Publishing. He was born with a silver spoon. His love of reading lead him to found his own publishing company. He is a hands on boss. When his newest employee comes crashing through the door, and starts bossing everyone around, including him, he can't help but be amused by her antics. Watching her closely, he sees a natural born sub, that calls to his dom. He is determined to make her his. For now he is going to enjoy playing assistant to Lucy. Loved Bill and Lucy. Loved Anna and her pep talks and advise.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book from Booksprout. Loved the story so I bought it along with the first two books in the series.

A great read that I enjoyed about a billionaire, Bill, and the woman he hires, Lucy. Lucy doesn’t know that Bill is the CEO and treats him like a employee and even gives him lectures to be a better employee. Bill decides to hold onto the secret while dealing with an author and a past employee stirring up trouble. While away on a conference, Bill, finds out for sure that Lucy has sub tendencies and him being a Dom wants her to submit to him. Will she and will Bill finally reveal who he really is ?
A great read that had a few chuckles along the way, steamy scenes with light BDSM, a hot alpha Dom man and a sweet, compassionate woman who is trying to prove herself in the corporate world. I enjoyed these two and how when the truth was revealed how it was handled and what happens afterward. I also enjoyed the plot, the story flowed nicely and especially how it all came together so they could reach their HEA.

This is an entertaining, well written romantic comedy about mistaken identity in the workplace. There’s also some corporate intrigue and plenty of laughs along with some very sexy, steamy scenes with a splash of BDSM. Lucy is a 25 year old working in the publishing world, trying to break through the glass ceiling. When she gets a trial executive position, she thinks she needs to be a mega-bitch boss to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, she’s a bad actress. Bill is the company CEO who’s also a Dominant. He believes she’s naturally submissive and sets out to prove it. What ensues is a series of misunderstandings and hilarious predicaments as the naturally clumsy and often neurotic Lucy goes about her day-to-day while fighting her attraction for Bill who she believes is her employee. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Firm is a sexy, entertaining story. Lucy is a sweetheart who needs to take charge of her new supervisory position, unfortunately for her, she tries to take charge of the wrong man. The man who isn't who she thinks he is. The man who will let her know eventually who's REALLY in charge.

The banter, the back and forth between Lucy and Bill is funny and witty and Lucy is adorable as she tries to be the big boss, tries to go against her grain and be as mean and steely eyed as her roommate advised her to be. I like their chemistry and I like that Bill isn't really a big asshole the way so many billionaires are in romances lately. If you like your billionaire stories with great chemistry and witty, entertaining banter, 1-click Firm today.

Well Emma York has written another delicious steamy love story which is also a little on the indecent side and I say that with a smile.

I actually found the first 3 chapters of this book a little on the funny side as Bill watched Lucy try to act like someone he knew she wasn't! He found her little charade to be very humorous especially since she thought HE worked for her.

I couldn't believe we got all the way to chapter 18 and Bill still had his secret but then he also realized he wanted Lucy to be a part of his life forever about the time he divulged his secret to her.

Lucy and Bill were great together. They both had their secrets, nothing too earth shattering, but how they deal with the revelations is key. Sexy, fun, and a little intriguing. I liked how when she found out his secret, she was still able to help save him and his company.
I also liked how she was confused at first, with what she was feeling for him and his lifestyle, but what really kept her on the fence was that she is was his boss (or was she)? I also liked how he went to her when his company needed her and her wasn't afraid to admit it.

Definitely read the first book before you read this one.
Ok now I have suggested you start at the beginning now
to tell you about this one. It carries on where the first book ended.
Ethan and Alice was really getting into Master and Sub lifestyle when
everything was taken from Ethan. We find out what the red card means.
We find out some interesting things about Alice.

Once again Emma York has done a fabulous job keeping me entertained. Well-written story, with wonderful likable characters, interesting storyline. Hot sex and light BDSM.

Lucy goes to a new job and trys to show an assertive side but her colleague, Bill can see immediately that she submissive, especially to his dominance. The chemistry between them is hot and instantaneous, however there is a case of mistaken identity to sort out. Definitely give this book a try.

Just enough...

I would like to have given this a 3 1/2 star rating but 4 will do . I really didn't pick up on any S & M just a little mild B & D , which was fine with me as overly sub women are nothing I want to read about . The story kept me interested . The main characters genuinely caring for each other , enjoying and needing what they got out of their love / sex life . It has a nice ending , affectionate and warm with an HEA ! ( P. S - A sequel about Anna would be nice. )
