Hailey's been struggling to break into the music scene and get discovered as a songwriter.
Her day job as a tour guide pays the bills, but what she really wants is to create music.
After a chance encounter at a local bar, Hailey ends up giving piano lessons to a beautiful, older woman named Elle.
Elle works hard, leaving little time for herself or relationships, but when her best friend intervenes, Elle might just have met the woman she didn't know she'd been looking for.
I loved the flow of this book. The characters endearing and you just root for them to make it. Carol Wyatt has the ability to make you feel apart of the book not just read it. Definite recommend
I don't know what to say. I love the angst that turns into love and romantic endings. What makes it a bonus for me is that it is a Lesbian relationship. I literally read this book in 2 days. I could not put it down.
3 stars. It was ok. I felt the characters didn't get to interact enough. They were apart more than together. It's one of those books where the page count is spent on them getting together and then it ends. But I guess that's why it's a novella.
Just be open to the attraction can it ever be so simple.
Elle and Hailey come from very different worlds. They have their dreams and for them to meet would take some meddling from Elle's best friend. I loved their connection but the back and forth between them being together just made my reading a struggle. Yes they had much to work through but too little dialogue to help them out. Their age, lifestyle and well going in different direction made it hard to see how the could make it. I would have enjoyed more time for them together and less one sided doubts of love. The are a cute couple and I loved their connection but wanted more time together for them.
4 stars. I felt the third act drama was a bit too forced but everything about this was really good. I’m a big fan of Wyatt’s writing style and the way she writes romance. Her love stories are always so romantic and swoony and this was no different. Elle and Hailey were both very likable characters and I loved their chemistry. There’s an age gap as Elle is thirteen years older than Hailey and that does get used as an obstacle but it was fine. This was a lovely and quick story. Not a favorite from this author but still definitely worth the read.
The age difference did not matter. Neither character had her own “language” mannerisms or voice. The older lesbian spoke as though she were 20 and acted like it as well. With age comes a certain kind of wisdom and sophistication. So I could not believe the age differance at all. Cute read but even knowing the ages of our main ladies, I pictured 20 somethings.
With all the unrest going on within our community and world this was a nice distraction. It was a fast read because it kept my interest and I had to find out what we going to happen next. Will be reading more from Carol Wyatt.
Love Ms. Wyatt’s book. Never read one I didn’t like. I like novellas. Carol seems to be able to tie everything together so there are no lose ends. You get a sense of the characters better then most novellas. Read it. You like it.
Storyline had potential, but the execution seemed a bit careless and rushed. The story would’ve been significantly better had it been more fleshed out.
