A notion I once considered utterly ridiculous. Until one crazy night with a mysterious man resulted in a social media frenzy that had the entire entertainment industry talking.
Seems a fake marriage was just what my career needed to make Hollywood come knocking.
Convincing him to continue the charade was almost too easy. The chemistry between us made it impossible to keep my hands to myself. But it was all just pretend, right? Love was never in the script.
That is, until he re-wrote it.
13 Reasons You Should Stay:
1. I’m crazy about you 2. I make you laugh 3. You totally dig me …
Rhonda James is an Amazon bestselling author who loves a good HEA, believes nice guys don’t finish last, and strives to create a book boyfriend for all her readers. Rhonda is married and lives in Michigan with her family. When not writing, some of her guilty pleasures include kissing, diving into a good book, and wasting time on Facebook, though she may do one more than the others.
I like the characters and though I know the romance between the MCs is supposed to be heartfelt, I feel nothing about their chemistry. So sadly, this book isn't my cup of tea.
A cute fake relationship turns into more romance. Sophie is an aspiring actress and Hawk is the guitarist in a band. When their fake marriage goes viral they decide to keep it going to get Sophie some good publicity. Things that are fake never stay fake for long though.
I enjoyed this one. It’s easy to read, and just a hot little romance. I wouldn’t say that it blew me away, but it was enjoyable and I’m digging this series so far!
I am a HUGE fan of this author and books like this are the reason why!! She writes female characters you want to be best friends with, and she writes men who make you combust.
Hawk is the perfect BBF. He's the Southern Rocker with just the right amount of dirty alpha. The guy gives excellent swoon and at the same time ensures you need a new pair of panties.
One minute he's serenading her with country love songs & the next you get HAF bathroom mirror sex. Dammmmmm 🔥🔥
Sophie is a beautiful character. Strong, funny and slightly jaded she meets her match in Hawk. He shows her what love can be.
Throw in hilarious band mates, douchebag ex boyfriends and enough angst/heartbreak to have you getting teary. Rhonda James absolutely smashed it with this story. Cannot recommend it enough ❤️❤️❤️
Two people on the cusp of breaking into stardom in their respective fields meet at a low point in their lives and find themselves in a very unique situation. 13 by Rhonda James is a New Adult offering that I loved even though I did have to keep reminding myself that people at this age make lots of mistakes before they get it right. That being said, there was much I loved about this story.
Following a really horrible year and getting some not so great news from her mother, all Sophie wants to do is cut loose and enjoy oblivion for a little while so when she accidentally spews whiskey all over a handsome stranger, she has no idea that he will change her life in more ways than one.
More than anything Sophie wants to make a living at acting, but a stint on a reality show turned out to harm her career instead of help it and then seeing her ex in photos with his supposed “the one” has sent her spiraling, but Jared (aka Hawk) is there to help her by pretending to be her new husband, but things get complicated really fast and as their careers take off, their relationship is strained.
First off I have to say I really love Jared, he’s one of those “good guy” heroes that melts my heart and the fact that he tries so hard to put everyone else’s needs before his own makes him hard to resist. He made some mistakes, but he had good intentions despite not being the best at communicating them.
I liked Sophie but to be honest she seemed a bit selfish in the way she approached life and while it wasn’t all her fault (it was evident her parent’s indulged her way too much), I got frustrated that she never seemed to own her mistakes. I do think Jared brought out the best in her and that she did fall for him quite hard, but I hated that she held herself back even though she knew in her heart that Jared was nothing like the men she’d been with before.
There was something refreshing about the way Jared insisted they take things slow and that he wanted to really get to know Sophie before they moved to a physical relationship. I like that they spent time together outside of the bedroom for a good portion of this book, but once they got there because they knew each other so well things heated up quickly. It was hard watching them make mistakes and not communicating, but I was more than satisfied with the ending.
I enjoyed the sweetness of this romance as much as I did the sexy times, 13 was an outstanding offering from author Rhonda James.
I've followed Rhonda James for the past 3 years and have watched her grow as an author - seen the way that she's evolved by making her characters unforgettable, their daily struggles relatable since they are my own, and especially fell in love with her stories. Some have made me cry, others, laugh, and some, like 13, found me smiling more than once at the fact that the friendships that Sophie has reminds me so much of the ones i have with my friends that i couldn't put this book down.
My only regret is not having had had the chance to read the previous book in this series because i would have absolutely loved to know the story behind Tory's happily ever after, but i can honestly say that it wasn't an absolute must to be able to understand Sophie's story. While part of the List series, what i loved the most about this book was the fact that 13 can still be considered a standalone.
Another favorite part of mine? How Rhonda James slyly added references to her own previous books as works of fiction - can't deny that i fist pumped my hand in the air at how well it worked in the story line. This is a story of how a two individuals think their actions are innocent and is a joke until social media gets its hands on the pictures. It's undeniable how quickly stories can spread through social media with the help of instagram, twitter and facebook, heck, if you want to play chinese telephone, that's the perfect place to start! But, with all that being said, the fact that there was truth behind Sophie and Hawk's attraction to one another made me want to keep reading. It made me crave their story, and of course want to get my hands on 21 (Tori's story and the first instalment of the series).
Considering i've had a chance to read many of this author's books in the past, i find that The List series absolutely puts her abilities in the spotlight. It's a great story, believable characters (even if it is fiction) and more than one way to fall in love with love once again. I can't wait to read more from her in the future and will absolutely keep my eyes peeled for her books.
I am no stranger to Rhonda James' writing. I love her writing and she mages to create characters that I just fall for every time. And 13 was no different. I loved this book. From the moment I started reading I could not put it down. And Jared "Hawk" Hawkins is my new favorite book boyfriend. OMG, he was everything, pure perfection wrapped up in a sexy rocker.
Sophie has had a tough year. She is an aspiring actress and one stint on a reality show has not only broken her heart but has also given the world a different side of her, one she is not too proud of. She goes out one night, planning on just getting drunk and enjoying the night. And boy does she. That's where she meets Hawk, the guy that will change everything. They both have their issues at the moment and meeting each other is just want they needed. It's as if they found what they need in each other. A few drinks and dancing leads to the two of them pretending to be married. If just for one night. But the next morning Sophie finds that their little stint may have helped her career in a positive way. She has a proposition for Hawk, which he gladly accepts.
Sophie and Hawk are instantly attracted to each other and the chemistry between them is palpable. They know that this little charade will have to end at some point. And when it does will it leave someone behind with a broken heart? Hmmmm.....you will just have to read to find out what happens.
I don't think I could love a character as much as I love Hawk. He is a rock star who has had his fair share of woman, but he has a heart of gold. A southern charmer who is sweet, kind, fun, witty and the kind of guy who can woo you like no other. He has a bit of an alpha side that made him even sexier. I loved everything about him. Sophie was his perfect match with her sassiness and feisty side. Together they were perfect.
I loved the banter and flirting between them but it was also those special tender moments that just melted my heart. Rhonda James once again captured me from the very beginning. Once I started this book I could not put it down. I devoured this book from beginning to end. A sexy rock star who will make you swoon, a feisty actress who you will just fall in love with, throw in some witty banter, an ex-dhouxebag, and just the right amount of drama and angst and you have a fantastic read. Another amazing job by Ms. James. I hope we get to see more of these characters in the future.
You know that moment when you start a new book by a new to you author and you just know that you are going to enjoy the story? Yup, that’s how I felt when I started 13.
This book was awesome! I’ve always been unsure of “insta-love”, but when it’s done right, it works and it worked for Hawk and Sophie. Ms. James was able to create the connection that these characters needed in a way that developed the relationship perfectly!
Upon finishing, I oneclicked her book, Alaska or Bust. Ms. James has a new fan with me.
Let's get something clear, I'm not a fan of books with rockers as main characters, BUT there's always the exception to the rule and in this case are Rhonda James and her character Hawk.
Yes, Hawk is a rocker, he plays guitar with his band, and while he may have had wild nights, the guy has a heart of gold. He comes from a southern family who keeps him in check every step of the way. It's visiting his family that he meets Sophie. Sophie is an inspiring actress who went through a bit of a broken heart when a guy she thought was the one, showed his true colors. She goes back to visit her parents and while a enjoying a night in a bar in the middle of nowhere she meets Hawk. Like every couple they have their ups and downs, and then life happens. Careers become first priority and the past comes back to hunt them both, but through it all, Hawk and Sophie root for each other even if it means they can't be together.
Rhonda James' storytelling is enthralling and her characters are entertaining and full of life. their relationship is sweet, sexy and full of love and respect for each other. This is one of those books that you won't want it to end. And yes, the sensual rocker and the beautiful actress' end up having a beautiful HEA.
This book! I was nervous that hawk would not live up to sin.... Because lets face it sin is hawt! But I absolutely loved hawk! He was so sweet and that southern gentleman plus hot rocker was an amazing combination. Hawk can Woo me any day! Sophie was sweet and cute... She was the perfect compliment to hawk. I won't give much away but the end made me tear up. It was absolutely a wonderful read.
Oh. My. Days!! This woman!! Rhonda James is a goddess....a goddess who writes amazing words! ALL THE WORDS and ALL THE FEELS! This author can truly do no wrong, I loved 21 but I feel she has knocked it out the park with 13....and knocked my emotions seven ways Sunday! I love Sophie and her sassiness from the get go! She has been hurt in the past and although a little guarded, she sparkles! The connection with Hawk is instant and I loved the banter and the flirting between them. Hawk is......Oh my! That southern accent and ALL that is Hawk wrapped up in a guitar playing, sexy rocker package! I have laughed out loud, my heart has hurt, I have shouted obscenities at my kindle and literally melted into a puddle whilst reading this book. I tell you.....ALL THE FEELS!!
“Wonder if you dream of me as much as I dream of you. ‘Cause I do dream about you. Every. Single. Fucking. Night.”
5 Hawke is mine stars!
It’s no secret that I worship Rhonda James as an author. And just when I think I couldn’t love her or her characters more, she throws Hawke in the mix. That man is swoon worthy from page one. There’s nothing you won’t love about this rocker with a heart.
And while I’m crushing on Hawke, Sophie comes in and makes me fall for her too. She’s feisty, flirty and so much fun. I won’t give away any details about this book, except to say that if you love rocker books with heat, heart and a punch in the gut... then this is the book for you! Once again Rhonda you’ve taken my breath away!
13 was a great 5 star read and is book two in The List series. Rhonda James has once again pulled me right in and I couldn’t stop until I was done.
Sophie and Hawk’s story was great. Sophie is at a bar trying to have a little fun on the down low and get her mind off her ex. Hawk is also out for the night, when he meets Sophie they hit it off in so many ways. Things take a great fun twist.
Fate steps in and brings these two back together, sure is a small world. I really fell hard for Hawk and loved how he was with Sophie, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Sophie was a great strong character who had some not so great things happen to her in the past.
The secondary characters were great and I had so many LOL moments with them. There were also some teary eyed moments as well. There is so much to this great read you will love it. If you like Rockstar romance than this is a great series for you. You can read them as stand alones however I highly suggest reading from the beginning.
Sophie Banks is an aspiring actress who participated in a reality show and thought she had found the love of her life. Huge mistake. The rocker Gavin was more interested in the prize he had won and how it would help him leverage his career. The women would throw themselves at his feet, why would he be content to be only with her? Heartbroken, Sophie sees her career stagnate because of a poor decision. A year later, she finds herself sitting in a bar, when she attracts attention from a huge guy - or is she too tiny?
Jared Hawkins is in a good phase in his career being the Chaos Rising guitarist. After realizing how happy his friend Dylan, the leader, was with Tori, Jared begins to re-evaluate his life and wonder if it was time to find his soul mate. That's when he meets a breathtaking, funny and sexy tiny woman. Without exchanging names, they have a fun and wild night. But in the morning, when he woke up, she was not beside him in bed. How would he find her?
Overnight, Sophie discovers through her agent that she is being sought out for new roles. But for that, she would have to continue with a farce created the night she met the sexy guy at the bar. Would he agree to continue to help her leverage her career? And could this reunion be the beginning of a serious and true relationship?
A romantic story that will give you 13 reasons to fall in love... 5 stars
13 is book two of The List Series. Can be read as a stand-alone, but to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading book one, 21.
Sophie is the kind of girl I’d love to be friends with. She’s smart, funny, sassy & kind. But we’d have to be the kind of friends that are brutally honest because I kinda wanted to smack some sense into her a time or two.
Jared Hawkins is definitely bbf material at its finest! Sexy southern boy charm with dimples. And the best part? It’s not fake. He’s a gentleman to the core (despite his self proclaimed asshattery behavior). Even to a fault, doing what he defines as “best for her”.
I felt plenty of frustration when neither one of them was honest with the other. More than once thy let assumption get the better of them, and the most angst came from lack of communication.
But, being a true 80s girl, grand gestures make up for a whole lot of trouble. :)
Aspiring actress Sophie Banks thought that being on reality tv show Almost Famous would boost her career, but it seems to have doomed it. She's struggled in NYC long enough, and she's got a decision to make: keep being rejected or give up. She heads home for a visit, and she doesn't expect to meet a sexy country boy with a southern accent and ladykiller dimples. Drunk and feeling sorry for herself, Sophie asks him to pretend to marry her to make her ex jealous, and, smitten, Jared "Hawk" Hawkins agrees. She never expected to see him again after their night together, but now she knows Jared is actually Hawk, the guitarist for Chaos Rising, in which, coincidentally, her friend Tori's boyfriend plays. Even though neither she nor Hawk are looking for anything long-term, the two fall hard and fast for each other. But their relationship has an expiration date, and there's no way one can give up their dream for the other. There's just no way they can have it all…right?
I absolutely loved 13! How sexy, sweet and aww-inducing was Hawk? I swear, he's one of the most swoon-worthy MC's I've ever read about! I went back and forth on Sophie…on one hand she was pretty shallow, but on the other hand I appreciated her drive to become a successful actress and the steps she needed to take to make her dream come true. In the end though, the couple just overall blew my mind! These two were utterly fabulous together, and their insane chemistry was off the charts! 13 was a book about making the tough decisions, consequences for those decisions and finding the courage to go after what you want, and if that desire is to have it all, you should go for that too.
Bottom Line: OM/OW situations, no sharing; mixed condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; no violence/murder.
If you are looking for a story about a sweetheart rockstar and a heartbroken actress then stop here. Sophie is a heroine who keeps things interesting with her fun but slightly tarnished self. She is struggling actress that is dealing with the repercussions of some public missteps and a messy breakup. Hawk is our hero who is nummy on a stick and makes me swoon. Even though he lives within the rockstar world his love for his family and interactions with them show his amazing heart. Sophie and Hawk’s two worlds were destined to collide because they know and love the same group of friends/band mates. They actually meet accidentally which includes some drunken behavior that only added humor in my opinion. Love the road this story takes me down. Drama and humor weave in and out of its telling, causing either nail biting or bursts of laughter. Oh I would be amiss if I didn’t point out this story has some nice steam in it as well (wink wink) Definitely on my recommendation list. Happy Reading!
This book is amazing, as are all of the rest by Rhonda James. Hawk is the epitome of the perfect book boyfriend. He's in a band, but has decided that the groupies aren't what he wants anymore. He needs Sophie, weather he realizes it or not. He is there for Sophie when she needs him, and wants to do everything to make sure she's happy. Sophie is beautiful, but slightly broken. An earlier relationship is the reason, but it's what brings them together. Her acting career is at a standstill, and her previous boyfriend is moving on. Together they decided to do something spontaneous make her ex jealous. Which keeps them together for several months. But secrets come out, the ex comes back, and sometimes careers take you to different places.
I loved this story, and lost sleep over these characters. Their lives intertwined perfectly, and they fought for their love.
I have only read 21 by Rhonda James prior to reading this book and I had loved it- so much that I jumped at the chance to read more.
Sophie was a struggling actress trying to live out her dream in New York City. When one role, landed her heartbreak and backlash, she decided she had to get away.
When she meets a sexy stranger who helps her forget reality for a night- they agree no real names. They never expected to see each other again.
But little do they know, they are much closer than the other thinks.
Hawk was a guitarist in a band that was hopefully on the brink of making it big. Nothing has ever come before his music. But after getting away and meeting a cute stranger, all of that is about to change.
So what happens when one drunken night, and a fake marriage turns into something more?
I loved & enjoyed this book. It was cute, sweet, and sexy. I loved Hawk, and love his relationship with Sophie. Loved how he tried to woo her, and had parts pulling at my heart strings. It was a great read, & I absolutely loved it & loved having the opportunity to read it. 4.5 ⭐ out of 5⭐.
Loving the List series and can't wait for more!!!!
Sophie and Hawk together are awesome. Who would want to have a great Southern gentleman who is also a musician as your fake husband!! These two have great chemistry even if it started out as a stunt to help Sophie's career. Little did they know it would quickly grow into something more.
This is only the 2nd book I have read from this author and it will not be the last.
13 is book 2 of Rhonda James’ new series and can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading 21, the first book, as you'll definitely want to know the story behind Tori and Dylan/Sin who you get to see in this book.
‘In that moment, I knew that, if given the chance, this girl could destroy me.’ - Hawk
I couldn't put down this amazing addition to a series that I'm already hooked on. Everyone I'd spoken to raved about Hawk, but I wasn't prepared for just how great he is. I also loved Sophie who I was able to relate with after also having had my own heart broken and now being fearful of giving love another chance. Sometimes a book comes into your life just when you need help to find the answers you're searching for, and 13 was THE book I needed. If you haven't yet read any of Rhonda James’ books, this would be a great one to start with. However, she's written many other brilliant books and like me when I read my first book by her, you'll want to read everything she's ever written.
‘I told myself I’d never love again. I’d never let myself be that vulnerable again. Little by little I’d become a shell of my former self. It was time I broke free of those protective layers and allowed myself to taste life again.’ - Sophie
What I enjoyed the most about 13 is that Rhonda James doesn't make Hawk to be your ‘typical rock star’. He doesn't immediately jump into bed with Sophie, even though he very clearly wants to, and instead takes his time to ‘woo’ her. He's so sweet and romantic that my heart melted. Despite it taking a while before Hawk and Sophie do take that next step, there's none of the usual suspense about when it will actually happen. The relationship building between them is so romantic that you become engrossed by the journey they're taking and all the special moments they share. 13 has everything a reader could want in a book; laughter, romance, friendship, love, passion, understanding and so much more. For me, chapter 29 was the most moving as we see Hawk putting his love for Sophie first and making a sacrifice that could result in him losing her forever.
‘He cupped my cheek and smiled a sad smile. “Hey, I know it’s going to be hard. I don’t like it any better than you do, but you have to go. You’re about to go conquer the world. You can’t give that up just to sit and stare at my ugly mug all day.”He kissed the tip of my scrunched-up nose.’ - Sophie
Rhonda James is an author who fast becomes one of your favourites, and I can't understand why all her books haven't become number one bestsellers. More readers need to discover this very talented author!
P.S. As much as I love Hawk, B will always be my favourite! 🖤
I swear to god, I'm having the worst luck with books.
I thought for sure that I'd found a winner in this book. I loved the beginning. I can't say I loved seeing Sophie get her heart broken by Gavin, but I liked seeing where she was coming from when she met Jared aka Hawk and how the fake wedding came to be.
Speaking of Hawk, he was freaking amazing. He was a super talented rockstar, which made me wish I could hear him play in person. Honestly, I just loved him. He was such a great guy and honestly, there were times that I didn't think that Sophie deserved him.
That brings me to what I had issues with...I loved the way Hawk and Sophie met. I loved that whole night and even the next morning and how she didn't really want to leave and he was disappointed that she did leave. But where things started to go wrong for me is where they met up in real life. They weren't expecting to see each other. By that time, Hawk knew that Sophie was best friends with his friend's girlfriend. But he didn't know where she was. Anyway, the way Sophie reacted when they saw each other...totally turned me off. I didn't like how she acted and started accusing him of things, especially when they were incorrect and she did this in front of all his friends/bandmates. From that moment on, I just had issues with Sophia. The confident albeit brokenhearted girl I'd met turned into someone that played games.
Actually, as much as I really loved Hawk, it annoyed me that both Hawk and Sophie kept ignoring their growing feelings and playing it off as "I THINK I'm falling for...." No. I'm sorry but there's no think here. That was just denial and it annoyed me. And I hated the self sacrificing thing they both did to push the other away. Nope. Not working for me.
I did push through the book, and while the overall story was good, it just wasn't the best trope I've read. I really wanted to see more of Sophie getting parts or something and see Hawk's band take off. And while we saw both of them get some success, both of them were miserable and a lot of their careers happened in the background.
Hawk and Sophie!! YASSS!! Those two were so perfect for each other! I was so excited for their story! We met Hawk in book one, and I was already in love with him! We get pieces of Sophie from book one too, but I'm so glad she got her own story, because it was a really good one.
Sophie is a struggling actress trying to find her way, and she's had quite the obstacles thrown at her. She's a firecracker though. She keeps picking herself back up when life kicks her down. Hawk is just kind of stuck in a place that seems to just have stopped. He's still this sweet southern, gentleman, rocker, but you really see who he is and how much Sophie coming into his life, made everything start rolling for him again. I loved the way she and Hawk met. I mean, talk about meant to be right? (This is where I'd insert my bebe rexa/florida georgia line meant to be gif, but I dunno how to add gifs lol...just pretend it's here!)
Anyway's, super cute and then when they realize who the other is to their friends, it came together really nicely and I was excited for their journey together. I wasn't sure how things would pan out because of the way their relationship started, and I was getting antsy because I was sure Hawk was going to be an idiot and I wanted to shake him a little bit. Needless to say, the two both drove me crazy when they parted ways... but they made it up to me in the end! Perfect. Oh and the list Hawk made...ummm...pretty sure my heart melted! So so good! I love this series and I really can't wait for the other two guys to get their stories. They need a taste of what Sin and Hawk have. Love love love it! What's up next Rhonda? I need more!!! #B2BKristina
This was a new author to me and I thoroughly enjoyed this story :) So much so that I have already purchased the first book of this series so I can also read it. Though this is part of a series, it most definitely can be read as a standalone. It's the story of Sophie (Tiny) and Hawk (jared)...she is an aspiring actress living in NYC and he is a musician living in Florida. They both happen to be home in Carolina visiting family and run into each other in a local bar and the sparks fly (though neither really wants to admit it). They remain unknown to each other (going by names of Tiny and Jared) and after more than a few drinks decide a "fake marriage" is what she needs to get over and get back at an ex... There one night stand ends early and she disappears without him knowing her name or where to find her. As a fluke, months later, Sophie heads to Florida to visit her best friend who happens to be dating a bandmate of her mystery man. The sparks continue to fly and the relationship between Hawk and Sophie growns into something more than the one-night stand. It's full to twists and turns and laughs and some heartache. Their "fake" marriage helps Sophie get a job in LA and Hawk and his band get a gig opening up for a band in a big tour. They are both scared to let each other know their true feelings and the distance is deafening... Will they be able to overcome their relationship fears? Will they be able to overcome their distance? Highly recommend... it's a fantastic story!!
13 is the second in Rhonda James' The List series and is centered on Jared (aka Hawk), up and coming rock star and Sophie, reality star turned actress and best friend to Tori (from The List #1). Sophie didn't realize that the cameras had caught her and Gavin in an intimate moment until too late. Since then, acting parts are not heading her way and Gavin went off to be a rock star. Jared, having seen best friend, Sin, fall in love, decides that its time for him to start getting his life in order. Enter Sophie one night, drunk in a bar and an outrageous decision to pretend to be married, and you have the basis for 13.
This is a straight forward boy meets girl, fall for each other but life gets in the way romance. Ms. James gives readers two people who's experiences lead them to shy from grabbing what they want, making the journey to each other well worth the read. Jared is a guy who has his head on straight, does the right thing, and wants the best for those around him. This makes for a sexy, real guy. Sophie is a woman whose naivite brought her heartache but still strives to rise above and succeed. There is major chemistry between these two that jumps out from the pages and while they delay sleeping together the "getting there" is scorching on it's own.
Let me start off by stating: I AM A FAN OF RHONDA JAMES!!! AND THIS BOOK IS ANOTHER REASON WHY!!!!! I loved how Hawk and Sophie meet for the first time at a bar and realize that pull right off of the starting block. Then, the second meet up….. Oops, sorry, not going to give anything away. Let me just say this, fate, yes fate was on their side too!!! What a ride is was. Then there is the list that Sophie finds… O! M! G!!!!! Get the tissues ready. Ms. James just has a way of bringing the reader in from the very first paragraph. The emotions she brings through in her writing… SIGH!! The way she describes her characters, WOW! She makes the reader cheer for the characters no matter what. I was gifted with a copy of this phenomenal book for my reading pleasure. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with this spectacular book. I know I could not put it down once I started it. Good thing I started it on my day off, because I did an all-nighter reading it!! Kudos, Rhonda James on this wonderful book!!! You definitely have a winner. So, Reader, thank you for reading my review. Now what are you waiting for??? Go hit that one click button and start enjoying this book.
This was a new author to me and I found this story to very entertaining. This is the second story in the THE LIST series, but I hadn’t read the first book and did not feel I’d missed anything.
Sophie is a struggling actress living in NYC, who thought a hookup with a rocker was true love. Stupidly, she does this hookup on camera! She discovers that Gavin is a cheating man-whore and she has given herself a reputation of being an easy slut. Now she needs to find a way to repair her repulsion and career! Hawk is a musician living in Florida and is the epitome of a Southern gentleman.
How will distance, fake relationships, strong personalities and different life/relationship goals work to give these two great characters exactly what and who they need.
13 by Rhonda James is the second book in her The LIST Series. 13 picks up where the previous book, 21, left off. Sophie´s story continues. After finding her boyfriend cheating on her they have a nasty breakup. She wants nothing more than play oustrich and put her head in the sand. She goes back to Souther California. But what she doesn´t know is she´s about to fall again for nthe wrong man. Hawk is a Rockstar himself and when he meets Tori´s best friend, Sophie he´s a goner. Fate brings them together and they have this crazy through the roof high chemistry. They have a lot of ups and downs before they´re together for good this time. 13 is a beautiful lovestory, excellent written with characters who kept me well entertained. I give 4,5 stars.
This was my first read by Rhonda James, and even though this is the 2nd book in a series I can honestly say that it can be read as a standalone, but I am so going to read 21 now.
Hawk is a rockstar but he is a southern gentleman who loves his momma and the rest of his family like crazy. He also has this bad boy side to him. And lets face it he is freaking HOT!!!! Sophie is a firecracker, she is a little wild and full of spunk, but kind of closed off cause she is an actress and is used to fake people. ( i dont want to say anything else, im scared im going to giveaway the story line)
This book was amazing. And i think everybody needs to read it. Looking for a new book boyfriend??? Hawk is the one your looking for! Seriously one-click this baby on release day!
