This book shows how a circle, divided like a pie, can be used to make pictures of all kinds. Using just 4 simple shapes, Ed Emberley shows would-be artists how to draw a variety of patterns, animals, people, and more! This book is packed with cool things that kids-and not a few adults-really want to draw. Easy and fun, the book provides hours of art-full entertainment.
This is an awesome book for children to combine creativity and fractions. Students can use and identify parts of a whole and various shapes that are used and manipulated to create interesting creatures and forms. Also a good way to get kids talking about how to break complex creatures down by looking for basic shapes within the form. Great ideas paired with process explanations make this an excellent resource for elementary and early middle school.
This is an excellent activity book to use when teaching students about fraction. It teaches children about fractions while the students are captivated with art. I LOVE THIS BOOK! This book is especially wonderful for the younger grades (k-1)in order for them to grasp the basic understanding of fractions.
Ed Emberley takes circles and then makes them into pictures. The pictures are bright and colorful. My classes have especially loved this book. Someday we will do a project using this book.
