Tariel's journey continues in book two of this sexy reverse harem filled with magic, adventure, intrigue, and toe-curling action!

When Tariel and her band of strong, sexy heroes finally cross the border into Carliss, they think most of their troubles are behind them. The witch hunter is defeated, her harem is stronger than ever, and they are so close to the Empire they can almost taste their freedom.

But when Riann is kidnapped by a group of bandits bent on revenge, Tariel's plans come to a screeching halt. Against all reason, Tariel and her remaining men venture deep into bandit territory to rescue their wayward knight. There, they quickly become embroiled in a poisonous conspiracy that goes all the way up into the highest reaches of the Carlissian government.

Unfortunately, even Tariel's magic may not be enough to win the day, especially when she finds herself up against a criminal overlord and a vengeful witch. But even the darkest places harbor unexpected shards of light... and within this den of thieves, Tariel might just find a way to take the bandits out once and for all.

This was a good exciting continuation of book one. I really enjoyed the flow of the story and didn’t really want to put it down. I wish the 3rd and I assume final book was out... Although, it seems Walt as put a slew of these type books out since my reading slump. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.

I’m not feeling much review wise, maybe later 😊

A great continuation of Tariel's story, full of adventures and potent magic.
Riann was captured by the bandits, and the rest of the group - Tariel, Calrain, and Yarim - are determined to do everything to get him back. Disguised, they venture deep into the dangerous lands where the bandits' stronghold lies wrapped in protective magical wards. However, Tariel is a powerful witch, and slips into the den of thieves to get back her love. Only, she would not expect the situation she would find him in.. and totally would not expect someone would be willing to help her. Someone alluring and very, very attractive.
The tension in this book felt differently than in the previous book. When in book one it was all excitement and fear, running away from certain death, a constant pursuit, now it was slowly build in anticipation, plotting, and sort of a "spy game" tension - hinting at the careful yet passionate break into the bandits' den. Despite the difference, I loved it! It was new, different, yet very much in line with the story character-based. Great twist on this front.
I also very much loved the escalation in the heat level and the romantic relationships involved in the book. Contrary to the sort of quick burn in book one - the establishment of Tariel's harem was fast, let's be honest - this broadening of her love interest is more like a slow burn, another difference to the first book - and another very good one. Not to mention, this new addition to her harem is very attractive, with snarky attitude, yet smart and observant, and I instantly liked him. Maybe more than some others in the group.
Great story, fascinating world, potent magic capable of almost anything, and brilliant character building, those are all factors that made up this story what it is - an irresistible read. So go ahead and grab a copy now. (okay, after reading book one first :))

I am going to be so disappointed when this series ends… a great book series for those who enjoy reverse harems, magic and adventure.

Seriously going to be disappointed when this series ends (can we get more than three books in this series please?). This series is a must read if you like reverse harems, magic and adventure. This book contains sex with multiple partners, so if that isn’t your thing, either don’t bother or skip past the sex scenes (the adventures alone are worth it in my opinion). As with the previous book, it flows smoothly. I would recommend starting the series from the beginning as this is not meant to be a stand alone book and you’ll miss a lot of information if you don’t start from the beginning.

Some spoilers below, you’ve been warned…

This books continues with Tariel and her men working their way to Maroyan Empire, only there are some setbacks (and gains) along the way. Riann is kidnapped by bandits, who have their own motives for their naughtiness. New characters are introduced, but not so many that you’re lost to the who/what is going on. A new lover enters her harem. What else to expect? Some good sex scenes, battles with magic, deception, love, mystery...oh and that dang Sir Jerrold. Most of this book takes place in bandit land. The book ends in a semi-cliffhanger.

For those who are new to Jasmine’s writing, I’d recommend starting with The Baine Chronicles (not reverse harem and full of magic/adventures). If you’re looking to start with one of her reverse harems, I’d recommend this series or Dragon's Gift. Or Ghosts and Grudges if you’re looking for something different from your typical “magic” book (note the author has stated it will be a reverse harem going forward).

I received an ARC but I also purchased the book.

Tariel and her harem cross into Carliss and feel that they are past the worse but when Riann is kidnapped by bandits everything falls apart. So Tariel and those that are left have to go deep into the territory of the bandits to try and rescue him. They then find themselves caught up in a conspiracy that extends to the highest levels of the Carlissian government. But can Tariel beat the criminal overlord and his vengeful witch? Can Tariel find a way to take the bandits out for good?

Poor Tariel - there was just so much trouble upon trouble in this story for her, but through it all she found goodness and hope around the corner. I loved the various twists and turns in this story which was certainly not boring. I felt the determination and willingness within her to succeed whilst doing the right thing. I loved that at all opportunities she would rather use her magic to knock people out than get the members of her harem fighting and potentially killing people. I could definitely feel for her when Riann was kidnapped and the frustration as she was trying to find him. Well written and very enjoyable. I can't wait to find out what happens to them next.

Definite improvement in the second book of the series. The premise was that Tariel will reach the Empire and begin her life as a Mage, but instead they get stuck with rescuing Riann from bandits. After being kidnapped he's given the choice to join them because the son and daughter of the Bandit Lord take up for him. After being on one raid, he knows for certain that this is not the life for him.

Tariel follows her bond to him and the boys quickly realize that she may be the only one able to rescue him as the daughter of the Bandit Lord is a magic yielding witch. What they do not count on is the desire of the son to break free from the life he has been trapped in. They escape thanks to him, and he's just beginning to understand how Tariel's harem works...

A lot more twists in the Capital City, some old characters like the witch hunter Si Jerrod resurface and some new allies are made. The adventures are stronger in this book than the first.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*

I liked this! I was afraid it wouldn't have a lot happen but it ended up being an adventure with a new character and I was so excited and satisfied for a time. The crew continue to travel to the Empire, and it's all one big journey with little things that make you laugh because if they're not dealing with bandits and hiding from the witch hunters, they're dealing with the guy they're forced to travel with. I'm glad Walt added this new guy because it really does make things more exciting. And I really, really like him out of everyone.

Ooooohhhh! I love this one better. Hehehehehe....

Tariel and her men are just so sweet, cute, and adorable. They're sexy too. ;)

Still can't get over the face of Tariel's ancestors. Damn, she must be one of a strong kind of female mages. I hope she's the Queen bee. I hope she's the best. Please let her be the best.

So far, though, she makes me feel so happy, I can't even. And her quiet intelligence is my favorite. I love her for it. She's feminine and powerful for it. She doesn't even deny her charm. I love her outspoken character and her beauty is even better for it.

Most of all, she's kind and generous. She does what she can to help anyone in need. I love this story.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The book start right where we left at the end of book 1.
Riann has been kidnapped by bandits.
Tariel, Calrain + Yarim go after the bandits to rescue Riann.
They were almost to the Empire, but this is only a small set back.
Don't forget, we still have book 3.
I can't wait to know what happens in book 3.
I loved the storytelling + the characters
The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!

This is the second book in Jasmine Walt's new reverse harem series and it was just as good as the first one. The story definitely moved on in this book and I liked the direction it took. We meet new characters, some whom are friends and some whom are foes to Tariel and her men. We visit some exciting new places and we learn more about what Tariel can do. I really enjoyed this second book in this series and am looking forward to book three and what will happen next on this adventure.

Another brilliant read

Tariel adds another gorgeous man to her harem in this book. Who is like a rough diamond with lots of hidden talents that greatly help them all.
It wasn't all plain sailing and took some time and near death experiences to make all of them realise how much they all really need each other.
Can't wait to read what happens to them in the Empire.
Great series highly recommended.

Beautiful and Steamy!!

I loved this story! Jasmine has the ability to paint such beautiful pictures through her words. Tariel is a strong confident woman who is fiercely protective of those she loves. Every action in the story is consistent with the world and characters Jasmine has created. I can hardly wait for the next installment!

Just as good as the first book. Tariel is amazing. She is still working on her magic but now they have to rescue riann from the bandits. We got to see a lot of character growth and some action too. Don't want to give anything away but the harem is coming together nicely. The next book should be awesome.

This book is even better than book 1 and Jasmine has developed the characters in this book even more. The book is full of action, adventure and magic. Ohh..so much fun. We get to infiltrate a bandit castle & rescue Riann, along the way we meet a male with magic. Then we collect our reward and head into the empire where we end in a small cliffhanger. There's lots of action in this one and Tariel is really starting to stretch her magical fingers, can't wait for the next book.

I really enjoyed this book, It was a very good read and i like how everything progressed. I like how her harem is evolving and i'm really looking forward to the next book in the series. There was enough steamy action but not so much that it would put it over the top. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

A great second book

Sometimes the sequel doesn’t live up to the first book but this one did! I was so surprised that we even added more to the harem. The story was fast paced but also have us more insight into the characters. Can’t wait until the 3rd book.

Fun and Adventure Awaits

Tariel continues her adventures in Den of Thieves. If you like your fantasy on the spicy side, you'll love this book. The pace keeps moving and the plot is solid. Take a few hours to escape and enjoy Den of Thieves.

Loved this second book in the series. More character building. Plenty of magic and romance. Still a lot of intrigue and mystery. Why is Tariel so powerful and who are her parents? I enjoyed getting to learn more about her men in this book. Can't wait to see what adventure befalls our heros next.

Okay read

I am a huge fan of Walt's but I am not enjoying this series as much as her other books. I had trouble getting into this book until I was about halfway through before I was interested.

Can't wait for the next

So good. Great continuation from the first. Lots of action and sex of course. Hoping the next book is released in the beginning of April instead of the end, I'd hate to wait that long. SO GOOD!!!

I can't imagine a better continuation

Jasmine has done it again. She spins a believable tale of adventure in an awesome world. The devil is in the details and she is exquisite in them. Bringing not only the world but the characters to life. I am eagerly awaiting the next book.

This is one of the best RH series I have come across! The only major thing I hope is that she will not just keep collecting mates. I like the ones she has and they all serve a purpose, but it would be ridiculous for her to just keep getting new ones each book.

3 to 3.5 stars, Better than the first book. Mostly this is a continuation of the first book. I did enjoy it for the most part but it is a little short of a 4 star book. I will do the next book when it comes out.

*Sigh* Another good but incomplete series

I typically only read completed series. I started this one thinking there were only two books but I was wrong. Hopefully the author completes it.

I enjoyed this second book very much, even if there are some slower parts in the beginning. Overall, I liked the story and would love to read more. I hope there will be another book at some point, since it ended with an more or less open situation.

It lost stars because I can't find the third book!

Also, at the end, this ONE guy HAD to growl, "Mine."

I was waiting for it. No romantasy is ever complete without ONE guy at least growling out, "Mine!". XD

Sheesh!
