THE NIV BEAUTIFUL WORD BIBLE FOR GIRLS is absolutely gorgeous. My two teen daughters and I love the cover and the art work and its so colorful.
That said, there are some omitted verses, but I understand that the NIV has decided to eliminate verses for some reason. I don't appreciate it, as those verses are not there by accident, but to teach you something - such as Matthew 17:21 which says 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”: (NKJV) and this verse is not in the NIV Bible. Since it is about the previous verse, it is a teaching tool so you know that it can be done.... There are also other omitted verses. To be fair, NIV does mark as footnotes that the verses are omitted but does not give the reason why.
This book would make an adorable gift for your favorite girl for Easter. I wish it was available in the KJV or NKJV for those KJV only crowd. I also wish that verses weren't eliminated.
There are wide margins for notes and doodles, and any artwork in the book is already precolored. (My daughter was disappointed about that. She wanted to color them) All in all, this is a truly beautiful NIV Bible that your girl will be proud to carry.
I was given a copy free, and it would've gotten five stars if it weren't for the missing verses (again, not this Bible's fault, it is not a misprint, it is the version). All opinions are my own.

This is SUCH a beautiful gift Bible for the young girl in your life. While my 6 year old is still working on reading, I really enjoyed giving this to our pre-teen friend. She was delighted! It's so pretty and presented in a way that appeals to girls, and she was so excited to read it and take to church! Thanks for sending our way to check out, Zondervan!

My Review:
Coloring books are all the rage right now. People do it in physical print copy and others do it online. It is a great way to decompress. I know when my husband and I were newly married, it wasn't strange to see coloring books and crayons lying around the house. It was cheap entertainment for a newly married couple. But these days there are so many options available to us that a regular coloring book and crayons is just not the same.
Many ladies and girls and even some boys are finding it very cool to have a Bible that they can doodle in, as well. So i know for me I am starting to see a lot of these type of items pop up. Zondervan has jumped on the bandwagon and they are even offering up some goodies in this genre that may appeal to most of my readers.
This Bible is much like the adult versions I have reviewed. You still have your beautiful Bible but with areas for coloring, doodling, and drawing in the margins and throughout the pages. I absolutely loved the encouraging words and verses found through out the Bible. It was a great reminder on some pretty dark days. It was uplifting and encouraging and were beautifully pictured in the book. This Bible would make a great gift for any girl ages 8-12 years of age.

This Bible is recommended for the 8-10 age range but I'm about to turn 34 on Monday and I'm pretty sure I'm keeping this Bible for myself. :)

I absolutely love the colorful scriptures on many pages! They are bright and encouraging. I have even contemplated cutting them out and laminating them and framing them, too bad it would make getting to the right scripture more challenging.
I also like NIV translation... a very easy to understand for the younger ones. Another feature that is nice is there is some space for writing and journaling or even free drawing to fit in the wonderful artwork already in the scattered through the pages.

It has been brought to my attention that some scriptures are missing. It will have a reference at the bottom like Some manuscripts include here words similar to Mark 9:29 for Matthew 17:21. There are a lot of other notes at the bottom that is similar to that one, some things are just definitions and others are stating reasons why the scripture isn't written there. I am confused on the "why" of doing it this way?

Discover God's Word through 500 gorgeously illustrated verses!
I first thought this was just a different cover for the coloring Bible, but it's not a coloring Bible at all, it's just a gorgeously illustrated Bible!
The more I flipped through the pages, the more I laughed at how long it took me to realize the difference, but I also fell more in love with this version's sumptuous graphics.
I kind of feel like this is a Bible to pamper you -- to give you that spa-day experience and allow you to really relax and enjoy your time with the Lord.
But besides its beauty, this Bible's single-column text and extra-wide, lined margins for holding plenty of notes also makes it a great choice for any girl who is wanting to delve deeper into the meat of those pages.
This Bible is bursting with brilliance and is one that's just begging for gals to tote around everywhere and spend plenty of time with.
And just like the coloring version, even though this Bible is marketed to target the tween-aged girl, I feel like its appeal extends anywhere from younger elementary-aged girls all the way through adulthood.

The “NIV Beautiful Word Coloring Bible for girls“ is a child artist’s dream come true. This Bible is for girls 8-12 years old and up, but I feel boys could enjoy this just as much as girls will.
It's such a beautiful Bible for kids! It contains hundreds of scriptures in the wide margins. These scriptures have been crafted to look like they belong in a coloring book. Each illustrated scripture has its own style, as my photos show, and the scriptures used are popular verses that tend to be the ones parents and Sunday School teachers want their kids to memorize.
Every page has either an illustrated scripture, or lines in the margins. Kids can learn note taking, or write what is on their heart after they have read a scripture passage. They can also paraphrase what they have read, to make it easier to understand!
Overall, I am giving the “NIV Beautiful Word Coloring Bible for girls” 4 stars. Really, the only reason for this is the font size. It is a great Bible for girls (or boys) who love using coloring books and are creative, but the small font diminishes the importance of what this book actually is: A Bible.

This is my new favorite Bible! As my friend with three daughters agrees, it's for older girls (think 8 and up) and women. From it's modern, beautiful illustrations to it's space for note taking in the margins, this Bible is one you can enjoy and grow with. Note: The pages are so beautiful that my friend's daughters wanted to tear them out, so they resorted to bookmarks lol! Thank you, Zonderkidz, for providing me with a copy to review — I've already bought another!

The book is both a Bible and a thought keeper for a girl of any age. It can be used as a resource or a gift to teach the word through expression. It is arranged in a pleasing to view manner and will start thoughts that can be either discussed if wanted.

This Bible has lovely verses printed on the side of some pages or on the whole page. They are colorful and add to the message of the Bible. There is also space for you to journal which is perfect for someone who loves to take notes.
