A good book on the out-of-body travel will show you some techniques on how to exit the body; a great book on the out-of-body travel will share with you personal experiences and lessons learned which helps you remove or reduce your fears. No amount of techniques will ever get you out of the body if your fear is with you still.

I've been stagnant lately in my OBE explorations and this book could not have come at a better time then it did. I, like the author, am not 100% comfortable with spirits. I realise now what I have to work on next to improve my experiences and I cannot thank the Author enough for his deeply personal and illuminating writing! Thanks! :)

Soul Traveleris Albert Taylor's diary and short instruction manual on how he experiences his internal worlds. Some of the early moments of his exploration were quite funny (I think he sees them now that way too) in that he'd describe his legs pointing down while his torso was pointing up but in the opposite direction. Or, how he'd see humanoid figures in his visions but he'd be afraid to look at them. Or, how he was out of his body and he heard someone in the shower, assumed it was his wife, freaked out and went back into his body, only to figure out that it was his son in the shower...

I think all of these mishaps are like watching a baby take its first steps into the wider world. At first, we are all teetering and on the edge of disaster. We don't understand steps, gravity, chairs, or anything other than flat. Some of us scoot while others walk but can't jump... it's all a learning process. With patience and time though, watch us run!

That's what I wanted to read in this book, more of Taylor's successful running rather than his shaky non-starts. Perhaps, in the time since this book was published, he's been able to successfully achieve his desired state more? I'd be interested to read about it if he has.

Some bits from Soul Traveler that I found compelling:
As humans, most of us are aware of nothing beyond what our five senses tell us. But to a nonphysical spirit or soul traveler, the physical plane is something to perceive only if one chooses to do so...As Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many mansions." I suggest the physical world is just one of these mansions we can see, but it is far less influential in our lives than the mansions we can't see." pgs 50-51 I don't know if I'd say "far less influential" but it is certainly not the only level of reality.

When Albert went to share his out-of-body experiences with his niece, she reacted quite negatively about it and this is what he had to say: "At first I thought that Catty's response represented the opinions of just a few, but sadly I have found many people who were unable to at least consider what I was sharing about out-of-body experiences. Once again fear acts like a roadblock to higher learning." pg 70 People can only accept things that they are prepared to accept. Even with the best intentions, you cannot put your life experiences and knowings into someone else's mind and heart if they do not allow it.

"I'd like to provide some reassurance for those who are fearful and a partial road map for the more adventurous. You need not be fearful when delving into many levels of consciousness, because they are a natural part of our existence." pg 89 Yep. Totally agreeing with that.

If you enjoyed Soul Traveler, you may want to read Soul Flight: Astral Projection & the Magical Universe by Donald Tyson or The Seventh Sense: The Secrets of Remote Viewing as Told by a "Psychic Spy" for the U.S. Military by Lyn Buchanan. Both books offer alternative methods for achieving out-of-body consciousness and some of the authors' own personal experiences in the inner worlds.

I loved the way this guy writes. Read this thing in one day. Nothing too heavy; mentions authors I've read, too. He made it sound so easy . . . we'll see!

I enjoyed reading this.. It’s basically like reading his diary entries detailing his soul travel experience, taking his soul out of his flesh to travel to the astral plane, one of the dimensions of consciousness. I realize this journey can be scary but I wish he would’ve not let fear rule so many of his first attempts.. I started rooting for him every time he would get scared.. “come on bro you can do it” I’m appreciative for the tips and tricks he gives for advancing your skill of being able to out of body experience most effectively

Was an interesting read, but not the book i thought it would be. I was hoping for more of a How To Book, or at least a little more insight on the topic. I think that for Albert Taylor, writing this book was more of a stepping stone for his own journey and not so much for the reader.

This is one of those books that gave depth to the possibility of astral projection. A great, easy read, and a way for a skeptic to watch as a fellow skeptic has his entire world turned upside down.

The book was a quick read. I definitely wouldn’t call it a “guide to OBE” like the title claims. There are some suggested techniques at the very back of the book but ultimately it’s a regurgitation of his own experiences in learning and traveling. I find it useful solely for the reason that I was able to relate to a lot of what he describes in his experiences, which was nice. Many overlaps with my own personal experience.
Simple read, but don’t expect a true guide or teaching of techniques.

An introductory book into astral projection. I read this book with zero understanding of the topic, after being recommended it by a friend who held this dear to her. It reads as a personal journal Albert Taylor wrote as he investigates his out of body experiences. He does a good job explaining the phenomenon and detailing how he (physically, emotionally, and intellectually) processes it. For an introduction to the topic, I felt this was a good read.

Astrology is not my strength, and there is very little in the book that I can relate to, most of which is at the end - the last chapter and the epilogue. The notion that we are here on Earth just physically but once we die we take a different form of existence - forever - is relaxing and at the same time encouraging and empowering. Three stars mainly because of the last couple of chapters.

"When the stress of being incorrect is far less than the stress of proving correctness, why choose the latter-especially if neither outcome has a long term affect on your life"

Excellent book. Towards the backend of the book there are useful tips and guides. Front to mid is mostly journals.

If you’d like to learn to Astro-project. This is a great starting point. If you’re looking to learn where loved one might be after passing.... not so much.

This was the first book I read about this type of thing. I found it addictive and (perhaps due to my state at the time) rather comforting. There's a pretty nifty how-to section at the end that I never utilized and so it's my own fault that I have to say "who knows if it's true." Definitely worthwhile if you're interested in this sort of thing and a quick read to boot.

RATING: 2.5 stars

A quick read, it was mostly about his personal experiences with out-of-body experiences. I purchased this book on a whim at a thrift store. It was interesting, but I was hoping for a bit more of a guide, more tips and techniques rather than all of the personal stories. They felt a bit repetitive toward the end.

This book was very interesting. Albert Taylor was born with a gift to have out-of-body experiences. His family said he was being rode by witches. He despised them in his early years but later in his life he began to realize it was a gift so he has been developing this gift his whole life. Albert now knows how to explore the astral plane and has met spirits and entities of light. He is not the only one with this gift or ability. Albert meets other people with the same ability when he goes to groups and meets new people. Albert Taylor explains many out-of-body experiences. Close to the end of the book he explains how to achieve an out-of-body experience. These experiences are unlikely to happen to most people. Although, I am still going to try. This book was educational and highly interesting I never wanted to put the book down while reading it.
