The scales are starting to fall from her eyes… Thanks to Sean, Nicki’s starting to pay lots more attention to what the politicians around Winchester are doing—and she decides to do something about it. When the City Council draws a line between the haves and have nots, Nicki decides to take a stand, and it won’t make her popular around her hometown.
Meanwhile, Nicki finds herself in a love triangle and she thinks she knows what she wants…but does she really? Spreading the news is easier than trying to solve her love life.

I always feel like I'm getting two books in one when I read the Nicki Sosebee series.
In book 5, Nicki-Chicky tackles the homeless issue in Winchester, (which was an awesome story. I loved how the author wrote and tackled this subject) and her relationship with Jesse whom I wanted to throttle a few times.
Sean is an ever present fixture in her life and I loved how these two worked together in this book and flirted of course. *wink*
Although, Nicki didn't have her usual causal encounters (which I freggin love) it was no less entertaining. The smexy scenes were HOT.
My only issue is how abruptly the book ended which left me confused. And now that I've read the blurb for book 6, I feel like I missed a whole book in between, so I'm hoping my questions will be answered in book 6.
Awwwwwww.... I have such warm fuzzier with the rekindling of Jesse and Nicki... He really really luvs her! And Nicki is in a very happy place having her best friend Sean and Jesse and her all friends again... Yay! But it wouldn't be Nicki Sosebee if she wasn't thick in the middle of a hornets nest with her reporting... On to book six... Fast!
Just love this series. It is well written with steamy romance that just does not stop even with all the trials that come into play between Nicki, Jesse and Sean. The added element of Nicki’s investigating for news stories makes the storyline all the more intriguing. Cannot stop reading. I received a copy of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.
“One More Time: Nicki Sosebee #5” by Jade C. Jamison 5 out of 5 stars
Nicki’s life is looking up! She’s back with Jesse and it looks like smooth sailing for them! The men in her life have worked things out and Nicki’s once again on “friendly ground” with Sean. At the newspaper, she’s gaining more recognition and Neal is regularly giving her assignments. All in all, things are looking pretty good for our girl…until one story leads her down a path that angers the wrong people and threatens the happy life she’s built!
The plight of the homeless is an issue that we should all beware of, regardless of the size of the area we live in. I appreciate Jamison’s efforts to shine a light on this subject and Nicki’s zeal in searching for solutions. I like seeing her broaden her thought process beyond what is going on in the bubble she lives in. Sometimes it is easy to just focus on what is immediately around us and Jamison continues to grow Nicki by allowing her to explore past all of that. It adds to the depth and realness of the character.
The relationship between Nicki and Jesse continues to be a complicated one. I’m rooting for Jesse to break down her walls and convince her that they belong together for more than just the “right now”. I love that he wears his heart on his sleeve and never plays hard to get with her. There are times I want to pop Nicki on the head and yell at her not to sabotage what she has with him. Unfortunately, she has to grow up at her own pace and we can only hope that she figures things out before it’s too late.
I continue to be frustrated with Sean. He wants Nicki, then he doesn’t, then he does, then he doesn’t again. I can understand him being a little gun shy after their encounter years ago…but enough is enough. I want him to make a decision and stick with it, otherwise he just seems selfish. I’m hoping at some point that we get a little more back story with Sean that will explain his reticence more. Despite my frustration or maybe because of it, I can’t turn the pages fast enough.
Jamison definitely has a knack for writing her characters as realistically as she can. We all struggle with certain issues in our lives and the cast of this series is no exception. She has pulled me in and each book offers me another glimpse into the lives of this group. I have already bought all the books that are out and I immediately pick the next one up as soon as I finish one. I can’t recommend Jamison’s writing enough. She has easily become one of my favorite authors!

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Ok sooooo here is the low down about this book. Nicki and Jesse are back together and doing great. Sean is of course being a brat about what "almost happened" between Nicki and him. Nicki is like "shut the front door about it already"......Sean does seem to be helpful and a friend to Nicki again. He is helping her investigate the poverty in the area. The city council is not a big fan of Nicki because she is stirring the pot about the poor. When Nicki is threatened, Sean steps up his game and begins to rally support to help Nicki with her piece for the newspaper. Sean isn't about to let anyone tell him (or his girl :) ) what to do...he really is a BAMF!!!!
Jesse and Nicki are great UNTIL Jesse's nephew asks if that is the girl who Jesse wants to marry....WTH!!! Nicki FREAKS to say the least. She is afraid of commitment or so she says.....Lets face it Nicki.....The reason you don't want to get married is................wrong guy..............I love Jesse people. I really and truly do but he begins to get a bit freaky about Nicki. He gets her name tattooed on him. Now marriage freaked her out ya don't think body tattooing wont???? Then Jesse starts acting a bit Douche and i was wanting to kick him in the testicles!!!
I will say that this news story line didn't seem to be resolved but I am not sure if "Sean's stand" resolves the issues in the story . I would be interested to see more of the poverty story line in the next novel.
Anyway, people this was another great book in the series and I am a total Team Nicki girl!!! BUT i would like a side of Jesse and A LARGE helping of Sean as well.
Series: Nicki Sosebee #5 Category /Genre: Romance, Contemporary, Thriller Received from: Jade C. Jamison in exchange for an honest review Recommended for: 18 + due to adult situations and sexual content Grammar/editing: A – near perfect
This is book five in the Nicki Sosebee series. They do need to be read in order.
I haven’t said too much about Nicki’s career, but I need to now. Besides the full-time job at Napoli’s Pizzeria that keeps roof over head and food in stomach, Nicki also sells make-up part-time from her home and she does freelance work for the local newspaper. The writing is her passion job and she is proving herself to be very good at it. In this book, Nicki is putting a spotlight on the plight of the homeless and those living in poverty in Winchester, CO, but there are powers-that-be that threaten Sean’s business due to her involvement.
Nicki’s love life is going strong with Jesse. Jesse has even proven his commitment to her in a spectacular way that puts Nicki into a bit of panic, but he isn’t perfect. Nicki has to remind him that commitment is only one component of a healthy relationship.
I love this series. There are the stories that Nicki is writing for the paper interwoven with her own life and loves. Somehow Nicki always ends up being part of the story and her guys are there to support or assist as needed. There are revelations of personality, growth, and empathy for our three main characters. They’re all strong, but in different ways. Like any good relationship, their different strengths work together to benefit them all. There is also the ever-present sparks between Sean and Nicki being denied by them in deference to Jesse. I need to keep reading to see witness the explosion when that spark ignites!
Being the 5th book in the Nicki Sosebee series, you really need to have read the previous four first. To get the best the experience of this series and the characters it is important that they are read in order.
So Nicki Sosebee is still trying to make her mark as a journalist, whilst still working part-time as a waitress. Her love life is still complicated as she is still drawn to two men: Sean and Jesse. She has chosen to be with one of them and it is getting serious, much to Nicki's horror. Commitment scares her as she fears loosing her independence and the fun they are having.
The story that she chases in this book is quite different than the previous ones. On one of her drives through town, she notices that there are more people living in poverty than she thought. She sets out to raise awareness of this and the plight of the homeless. Along the way she manages to anger those who don't want to admit the problem and who want to shift the problem away from their town. Those that she angers make threats against a friend. Will the powerful win out over Joe public or can Nicki make a real difference with her campaign?
Whilst Nicki is still the fun, sassy woman from the previous books, she is certainly more thoughtful and we see a touch of vulnerability in her as fears losing her independence in a marriage. I do wonder if the fact that she is examining her own feelings and future is the reason why she is more in tune with her surroundings and spotted her story. She has grown quite a bit over the course of the series so far and it's going to be interesting and fun to see her develop further as we follow the rest of her journey. This is my favourite so far!
Nicki Sosebee is for sure my all time favorite character ever written by Jade C. Jamison. She fun, spunky, has a lot of fun, and most of all gives us a lot of mystery. Jade has written nine books about Nicki so far and i hope she isn't done!! I want to keep reading about Nicki's exciting life. Read about what new stories she will be reporting about, and for sure find out what happens with her and the man she loves. Nicki's best friend, Sean was the one man she wanted to make things work with, the man she wanted to love. Only thing was they were somehow stuck in that friend zone. So while trying to get her career and get the guy Nicki blew off steam with other men. Only in this series NIcki tended to make steam, Jade sure did make sure we knew Nicki sizzles. Things always seem to get messy with Nicki's life, but she always finds a way out. Her life is definitely an entertaining one, and it takes you on a wild ride with no stopping.
One More Time (Nicki Sosebee #5) In this book Jade truly shows the real problems we have with no room at shelters for the homeless. She truly show cases the compassion and heart with Nicki. Nicki has found the one story that she truly wants to use to help make a difference but city counsil isn't helping to make it any easier. Even though she is having issues with her story things in her life are starting to even out. Sean and Nicki are finally back on "friend" ground, and she is moving right along with Jesse. You truly are happy for Nicki in this book.
Oh boy...when will people learn that a tattoo is FOREVER...LOL...unless you want a painful reminder of what "might" have been. Again, Nicki finds herself stuck between two very delicious choices...Sean, her forever friend and Jesse, her right-now distraction. This time we have a homeless problem and Nicki is on a mission to help raise community awareness, but runs into a few roadblocks. Things are heating up and then cooling down with Jesse (and Sean!) and once again, another foolish boy becomes the victim of a WoW addiction...(trust me, I have had first hand experience with this)....OMG! I was given this, the 5th book in the Nicki Sosebee series as a gift and I love her so much. She is a cooler than cool chick and I can't wait to see what kind of trouble she gets into next =)
Fast!
I enjoyed this installment of the Nicki Sosebee series. It was a little anticlimactic compared to the first four books in the series, but I believe the author is setting us up for more serial-type installments in the future. The book is still tons of fun and there's a lot going on to keep you entertained. I still love Jesse!!
As always, I am hooked on Jades Nicki Sosebee novels! I am definitely Team Jesse at this point but sometimes I just want to smack his ass and say WTF Jesse?!!! 5 Stars!
I always love everything Jade C Jamison writes and the Nicki Sosebee series is my new obsession. As I'm reading these books so fast, I'm going to write one big review at the end of the series :)
Now I love me some Jesse, but W.O.W obsession has got to go! I absolutely love the series! I can't put my kindle down for too long or I find myself daydreaming about what's happening with Nicki.
