GRYPHONS VS DRAGONS is a new paranormal shapeshifter series from Ruby Ryan. There’s steamy romance, exciting action, and no cliffhangers. Each book in the series can be read standalone (though they're best when read in order), and of course each features a Happily Ever After!

I liked the story. But I need Answers. How was the guy's chosen? How are the guys girls chosen? How are the dragons chosen? Where are the dragons totems? And so on and so forth
There is an alarming trend in Self published writers to take what they see as "Artistic license" with English grammar for parts of the story the story other than Dialogue, which I instead see as annoying and sloppy. There is more to being a professional writer than simply letting your imagination run free. Research is necessary to craft believable scenarios and for credible world building, as well as an understanding of human nature to create believable characters
In this episode we see a more character and plot-driven story as opposed to previous books, which shows growth in the author's writing. Harriet and Rolland are apart for much of this story, so there are fewer sex scenes than in the other jewel stories. Both characters show a greater tendency toward self-absorbtion, but also introspection. On one side, we have Harriet the hypocrite: "I wasn't a violent person. I was an animal conservationist; if everything in the animal kingdom could coexist without bloodshed, I'd be a happy person. Heck, seeing leopards string up their prey in trees on nature documentaries made me cringe. Violence just wasn't my thing, whether necessary or recreational." Although she has had supposedly years of animal studies, including behavior, she still has trouble reconciling the role of violence as natural and necessary for animals in how they deal with one another and their environmental roles.
Rolland aka the ruby Gryphon, has a healthier view: "...bare-knuckle boxing limits how hard you can punch... it's a built-in limit." He held up his fist. "If I punch a man in the cheek as hard as I can with my are fist, I'll break his jaw and my hand. So I have to limit how hard I punch. Enough to hurt someone, but not so hard that I hurt my own hand. So the punches in bare-knuckle boxing are far weaker, and less damaging. But boxing gloves? Those bloody things let you get away with punches that'll kill a man." He also follows good sportsmanship by buying his defeated opponent a drink after the fight to show that he can be a gracious winner and to encourage no hard feelings. This gives us an insite to his character and views, which are more real world than Harriett, who lives in the antiseptic world of college. Although I don't care for the com-mercialism and glorification of paid atheletes that has evolved around sports as a form of entertainment. After reading this, I do see how personal involvement in sports can be a healthier way to honor human testosterone, relieve stress, and exercise the adrenaline response in a safer manner rather than having these baser instincts result in home violence or criminal behavior. Both he and Harriet are content to play ostrich when it comes to the Gryphon in the room, with disastrous results that nearly cost both their lives along with possibly irreparable harm to their Gryphon symbiote. Even though Rolland is more in touch with his animal self, he refuses to allow himself to be brought back into his previous circle of friends for increased safety; even after their dire warnings of the greater danger to the ruby and other jewel triads from their returning enemies.

Harriet Reckmeyer followed her friends, Jason and Jon, into a bar and was trying to figure out the odd sound she was hearing. There was some noisy activity back in a lighted corner that she was trying to identify. The guys dragged her over to see the show, which turned out to be a boxing ring with two bare-chested men circling each other. This wasn’t her thing, since she was peaceful by nature. So when the fight ended, they were ready to leave . . . until the next boxer with dark red hair entered the ring. Harriet asked if they could stay for another fight.
Roland’s opponent was a huge man, heavy but built like a football player. Yet Roland brought him down easily. The crowd boo’d him, but he strutted proudly around the ring celebrating his victory. Then he helped the big man up off the floor and told him he would buy him a drink. Harriet almost melted at the sexy Irish accent! Harriet just couldn’t keep her eyes off of him! Her friends teased her about going up to him to say hi. But she figured he wouldn’t want a nerdy MIT girl; and when she finally turned around, he had gone.
As Harriet and her friends turned to leave, Harriet walked right into the red-headed boxer. He teased her about ogling him all night and offered to buy her a drink. She was speechless, then blurted out that she’d take anything he gave her! So she went home with him that night and slept in his arms.
The next day, he lazily woke up before he realized he was about to miss his flight to Belize! He was meeting his old college buddies for a 10-year reunion. With luck, he made it to Belize, and after a night of crazy celebration, he joined his buddies for the cave tour the next day. Oddly, he found a beautiful ruby gryphon lying right there at his feet with a red glow that disappeared when he picked it up! It felt like it had always been his, and he shoved it into his pocket as they left the cave. Here was another secret to keep, one of several. Where would this one take him? And why was he unable to move far from the figurine without intense pain?
This is the third book in an exciting series with now the third person finding a gryphon figurine in a dark cave in Belize! Will there be answers to be found yet for these strange events? The characters are likable and interesting. The story line is good and moves along at a fast pace, the books seeming to get better and better with each new discovery! They are very well written, moving the series forward in an exciting manner! You won’t want to miss this one!
Really nice match => Right you have Rolland the true alpha male with a hobby as bare knuckle brawler. Redhaired Irish, with accent and all, ripple muscles....Yummy ! So when he past her shyness, they sexual appetite takes over, tearing their clothes of each other. While in Belize with his friends, he finds the gryphon totem. Keeping it secret and safe, so much so he may ha compromise his chance with Harriet. Rolland isn't the man she spent the night with, he's changed. But as bad as Rolland hurted her, she can't stay away. Wanting closure before leaving for Africa for her 3 mth Oliphant/Bee's research project. The chance of a lifetime for her. Harriet and her two friends go to a bar that has illegal bare knuckle fighting. They wanted to surprise her. She was surprised and didn't enjoy it until a red headed Hunky muscular Irishman comes out to fight and wins. That man is Roland. These two hit it off and spend a sex filled night together. Roland found his statue in the same cave that all of his friends did while they were in the same cave. They were having their 10 year college reunion a the cave trip was just for one of the week long adventures. So when he wakes up in bed with Harriet the next morning he has to hurry as he will miss his flight to Belize for that reunion. When he comes back home with that statue he feels the connection with it. He met Harriet again and because he didn't have the statue with him he was very mean to her. So he becomes very ill and later that week Harriet comes to his apartment to chew him out and when Roland senses her suddenly he is no longer sick. He grabs her and they have sex again. Next day he g o especially to fight and he's fighting the dragon and doesn't know it. Ethan has been trying to get a hold of Roland but he's ignoring his calls. If he would have answered then Roland would have known about the dragon and gryphon connection. Needless to say this is another action packed story. I highly recommended you read the other two books of this series first so you will know the background.
Roland and Harriet meet the night before he is to leave for Belize for his reunion. He is fighting in a bare-knuckles fight in a bar in Boston. She is an animal conservationist getting ready to write her thesis on elephant migration. When she sees him, she is totally attracted and willing to have a one-night stand. When he leaves her the next morning, they exchange numbers and he texts her at the airport. Roland finds the Ruby totem just like his friends found theirs. There is an ordeal between Harriet and Roland when he gets back. He also meets the dragon in human form but doesn't know it. Harriet then tells him that she is going to Africa for three months for research. He gives her the totem so that she has something from him. The dragon interferes again and Roland has to go to Africa to try to save Harriet. We learn a bit more about the history between the dragons and gryphons. I am loving this group of books so far and am looking forward to more information being revealed about the truth of the war, what the sword entails and who the final two gems are.

This is the 3rd book in the series and it’s another big hit for Ruby Ryan. Roland is a bare knuckled fighter and after beating his opponent he runs into Harriet, after a drink and a night together he leaves the next day to go to Belize to meet up with some old friends. While walking in a cave he finds a Ruby totem and he feels like it has been his for a long time so he puts it in his pocket. Harriet is a very shy type of woman, her friends talk her into going to a pub to watch a fight, when she see’s a man fighting in the ring she wants to meet him. After a drink and a night together she tells Roland that she is going to Africa for 3 months for a research project but she ends up in danger while there with a dragon finding her. Can Roland save Harriet in time or will he be too late?, that my friends you will need to find out for yourselves by getting this book. I love these Gryphon books, fantastic storytelling and I can’t wait for the next one. I highly recommend this book you won’t regret getting it.
My heart is still beating faster than all get out! This story grips you slowly as in a slow simmer then reaches boiling point in a flash! Harriet has been taken to a local bar by her bffs and there she witnesses, for the first time, bare knuckle boxing. She is drawn to one guy and gets totally fixated on him. After his fight, he is drinking with the man he knocked out and she is totally obsessing on him. When she decides its time to leave she turns around and bumps right into him. Seems he's as drawn to her as she to him. Well that ends up in a really pleasurable one night stand when he has to dash out for his trip to Belize to meet up with college buddies. There in the caves he finds a statue and hides it. On his return, Harriet calls him and invites him for a drink. Needless to say he acts like a total ass to her. So she leaves him there. Then ----ok read the book I can guarantee you will be just as drawn in as i was!! Fantastic story and read!!! Can't wait for the rest of the books!!

out of 5 starsAn addictive addition to the series. By sewsummoreon 19 March 2018 Format: Kindle Edition This book is one of a series in which ancient artifacts which empower humans to fight against deadly dragons to save the world. Roland left Belize with a ruby griphon in his possession, it had a strange power over him, and called to him. Determined to break it's strange hold over him he gave it as a gift to Harriet, a woman he had spent one memorable night with before his trip to Belize. Their connection was intense and the power of the griphon magnified his desire until he could sense when Harriet was in danger, he was determined to save her before the dragon could unleash it's evil power. There were lots of unexpected twists in this story, with good narrative and explosive lovemaking to make this book an addictive addition to the series that grows with each book read..

First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
This story was gr8. This is the 3rd story in this set. Harriet is a nerdy girl & more prone to staying home & studying or watching TV, instead of bar hopping & such with friends. But 2 of her friends finally talk her into going out & having some fun. The club they bring her to has bare knuckled boxing which at first turns her off, but her eyes land on Roland a huge, hot Irishman. Roland is one of the men who goes to Belize to have a reunion with his old college buddies. He finds the ruby Gryphon totem and his life & Harriet's change. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
This is the 3rd book in the Gryphon/Dragon series by Ruby Ryan and it continues to deliver the action I've come to expect. Each book is standalone, but the prior books will help lend additional understanding to the conflict. This is a battle with the ruby gryphon versus the ruby dragon featured here. It's "first time shifter" action that will have you exploring the character's journey from discovery of his power to his acceptance and finally embracing his destiny. There is a mystery, thriller, romance and action book all rolled into this story and I highly recommend this book, this series, and this author!
I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is another great addition to the Gryphons vs Dragons series! It is a really exciting and creative book and I really enjoyed reading this book. Rolland meets and worms his way around the very shy Harriet. They have a one night stand and fall for each other. Rolland needs to leave for Belize but both can't wait for his return. He finds a gryphon totem and needs to protect the secret with his life. Will this destroy all his chances with Harriet? Will she be able to stay away? Stay tuned! I highly recommend this book to all!

This continues to be a really good series. This is third one featuring their friend finding out about his connection to the gryphon as well as his mate.
The two of them are very different from each other but definitely have great chemistry and a real connection from the beginning. He knows there is something different about her and the changes to his life endanger her which makes him very protective.
It is fast paced with some real heat to the romance. I like that you get to learn more about the feud between the dragons and gryphons.
I recommend you read the whole series in order for the most reading enjoyment.
Wonderful book 3! This is book 3 of the Gryphon vs Dragon series. A wonderful addition to the series. Roland has found his totem just as his friends had in their books and it leads him on the journey of a lifetime where he and his mate Harriet encounter an battle the ruby dragon finding yet more answers to the puzzle of why this ancient fight continues today. I cannot wait for the next installment in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Roland is an Irish bare-knuckle boxer that MIT graduate student Harriet meets when her gay friends talk her into going out for the night with them. I enjoyed reading this story there is drama, suspense, the Ruby gets cracked will Roland still have the power to beat the evil dragon. They finally find out why the dragons are the griffin's enemies. I am looking forward to reading the next book and they still do not know who the Diamond will be. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The third book in a series that is just getting better and better
This time we meet Roland the ruby gryphon and his mate Harriet. Roland is a bare knuckle fighter and we have the cave scene in Belize again but this time Roland picks up the ruby. Harriet has left to go to Africa to work but danger is stalking her will Roland be able to get to her in time to save her.
This is a stand alone book but i do feel it is better read as a series.
I was given an ARC copy of this book but this is a true and honest review
This series just keeps getting better, and better! The excitement level is high, the action and drama has me hooked. I love this book and where the story of Harriett and Roland began – I love these characters. Questions are answered, and more information regarding the mystery of the Gryphons is provided. There is one question I have: why does it seem like the dragons know more about what is going on before the Gryphons? This is a must read! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Third book in the series. I missed book one, but read two. They can be read separately, but I enjoyed this book so much more from having read book two. The two main characters couldn’t be any more different. She is an MIT student working on her thesis with elephants. He is a bare knuckle Irish fighter who enjoys the fighting. Now add in a totem and everything is about to change for both of them. Flying dragons, gryphons and even an erupting volcano. Lots of action and some pretty hot scenes. Great for all PNR readers.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
Great Series Loved!!!! This us the third book in the series Gryphon/Dragon series written by Ruby Ryan. Each book can be read as a standalone but reading the first two gives you the background of what is happening to this group of friends. Harriet and Roland are entirely different from each other but have chemistry from the beginning. Steamy romance with plenty of action can't wait for the next book in this wonderful series as you find out a bit about why Gryphon/Dragon are enemies.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the third book in the series. I think this is my favorite so far. Roland's story is so unlike the first two because it doesn't follow the formula of the other two books. Harriet is Roland's mate. His total opposite but seemingly right for him. The red dragon was relentless and brought more information about the past conflict that caused the rift with gryphons and dragons. I'm sure Rolands choices will affect the group. I just hope they can come out on top!
Entertaining and engaging, this shifter romance is full of drama, danger, action, romance, and steam. I really enjoyed the pairing of Roland and Harriet. I found the whole brawn + brains match-up to be fun and appealing. Could be read as a standalone but I recommend reading these books in order to fully appreciate the full scope of the series. I'm posting a completely honest, voluntary review after reading this book.
finding you have new power can be different to cope with. he is struggling with it all. she is on a research trip to go to. when he finds out there is trouble there. so when he finds her threaten by the ruby dragon he will go and help her. he has to find her first. will he save her? will he stop the trouble. see what happen next

She goes out for drinks with friends. She meets him when she discovers him fighting in a ring at the back of the bar. They end up spending the night together. He leaves for another country with buddies. They end up in a cave where he finds this ruby gryphon. The girl he spent the night with ends up being his mate and the ruby dragon goes after her. And the adventure gets even more interesting. I recommend it. I was given a review copy by book sprout and voluntarily review it.
Oh My Gosh. I loved this book so much I could barely put it down. I can't wait to read more. I so badly want to read all of the books by Ruby Ryan she is a wonderful author. I could barely put the book down I highly recommend this book and author to anyone who wants to read an awesome book and a wonderful author.

This book has a lot of action, the Ruby Dragon is a bit more deranged than his sapphire counterpart. This relentless pursuit of an ageless battle between dragons and gryphons slowly reveals aspects of the story with each book. Interestingly I'm looking forward to the full reveal and whether or not this battle can reach its end.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first book of this series I've read. I found this was really an intriguing and different tale. I'm positive I would have enjoyed this more if I had read the first two books. However, read as a standalone I understood everything that was happening. The plot was unique and unpredictable. I liked Roland and Harriet. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and already have the first book to catch up before the next one. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
The ongoing battles between gryphons and dragons continues in this third book in the series by Ruby Ryan. Once again her characters are described in such detail the reader can virtually see them, and thus identify with them, as they continue with their struggles of learning what they are and what they are up against, as well as all the super delicious sexy paranomral romance provided. Have already added next book to my TBR file. This is a voluntary review of this book.
