1967: The Autumn of Post-Coital Despair

Rate this book
I967 is a hilarious historical novel which takes place just after the infamous Summer of Love in New York City’s most edgy neighborhood, the East Village. The story deals with a young man’s struggles to survive his insane family, as well as the deteriorating neighborhood in which he lives. Along the way he helps to save scores of “drug casualties” at his job at the Fillmore East. Besides being very funny and highly entertaining, the book provides a real portrait of that unusual place and very special time in history. It’s a great read and a fun one. It makes you laugh out loud one minute, and want to cry the next.
