They're all immune to HLV…until they aren’t. When a mysterious illness breaks out at the armory, Grace and the others scramble to save everyone when it becomes obvious HLV has mutated again. Jason, a recent arrival, knows of a research facility that might hold a cure, or at least a vaccine, so she and Clint go with him to see if they can find a way to save their people. Rafe joins their group after he steps in to save them at one point during their perilous journey, and she’s drawn to him as well. Can the four of them find a way to stop HLV before it kills more people, while also building a relationship strong enough to survive Clint, Jason, and Rafe sharing Grace? This is a reverse harem romance and the fourth in the Hell Virus series. It can be read as a standalone, but reading the series in order will give a more complete and enjoyable experience.
Aurelia Skye is the pen name Kit Tunstall uses when writing science fiction romance. It’s simply a way to separate the myriad types of stories she writes so readers know what to expect with each “author.”
This story continues as the other ones have with the women forming relationships with multiple men. The HLV virus mutates again. People at the armory are getting sick and dieing. Grace is the closest they have to a doctor. She has developed a relationship with Clint. So when one of the men who has returned from a mission tells them about a possible cure, both Grace and Clint decide to go with Jason to a military compound in Colorado. Jason and Grace also begin a relationship. They encounter many roadblocks on the way and pick up three additional people. They encounter Rafe first. He and Grace are attracted to each other. The other two, Sean and Mat, were part of a gang and was to escort them to the compound. But they want to get away from the gang. At the compound the encounter two more men, including a viral researcher who offers his help. I like the fact that there is plenty of adventures during these books. I also enjoy the relationships the evolve through out the story with all of the different personalities. If you like multiple people in a loving group trying to survive a distopian life, then you definitely need to read this.
I received, and voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book. This story revolves around the people who are left in a post apocalyptic world, which I find to be very depressing, however, the fun part in all of this is that each woman gets to have at least two or more men due to the fact that there is a significantly higher amount of men than there are women. It would be nice if some of the men were gay, or at least bisexual, then that would take some of the pressure off of the women. I liked the relationship between, Grace, Clint, Jason, and Rafe, and the diversity. They didn't cause her undo angst or jealousy amongst each other, and they were very supportive of her and truly caring. I enjoyed the style of writing and the flow of the story. The relationships are my favorite part of this series and how everyone gets along while dealing with this third strain of the virus that ended society as we know it. It's all about surviving and rebuilding, and it's done, or executed very well. This was an impressive addition to the series.
This book is full of action, adventure, romance, and lots and lots of drama. Just when you things things have calmed down for the HLV survivors, they are subjected to yet another variant of the virus - which they are not immune to like the previous two strains.
I enjoyed following the group as they traveled from Helena to the military lab in Colorado. unfortunately, along that route there were unfriendly gangs that would have killed them if they had not fought back or evaded the attempts.
Parts were sad when they lost people to the latest strain and parts were encouraging as there were a few groups that actually cooperated with them and helped them along the trip.
Clint and Grace were so cute together and then Jason and Rafe came along. It was interesting to watch the progression of their relationship. It has to be strange to get used to this different kind of relationship in the aftermath of the virus's devastation.
I liked the introduction of Mat and Sean and the added humor when the group found out that Mat wrote greeting cards for a living - dirty greeting cards. And that Jason had bought one of them - that was just too funny.
Loved the ending and can't wait for the next book in the series so we can keep up with this new world they are living in.
Normally I love these stories, but this one really fell flat. I guess part of it is her decision to only have one on one sex, which we don't really see much of. Not sure how they can all live and sleep in one room, yet not share in any way. Logistically it makes no sense. As far as reading it, it completely lacked any passion or connection between the characters. Probably because we saw overall very little interaction between any of them. The guys or the guys and the girl. Yeah, just could not feel it at all because the author did a bad job of creating any feels or passion here. It advances the story, so it's worthy reading for that reason, but don't expect any fireworks, as it's barely a sparkler here.
I really enjoy this series. It keeps evolving and the relationships are all lovely. Each additional book adds to the prior one, and allows the reader to form really “emotional “ connections with the characters. I really liked Grace and her guys, although to this day I think book 1, and 3 (Alyssa and Natalie’s) stories have been my favorite. I look forward to book 5 😊
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I freely leave this honest review. This is a very good story. Realistic enough to be a bit scary actually. Pandemics are quite feasible in today's world. Grace has such a hard job to do. I enjoyed reading how her relationship to her men came about. Great world building and enough suspense to maintain your interest.
Ms. Skye has created a "world" that is all too believable. Like so many real viruses, the "HLV virus" continues to mutate and become hard to fight. This is the fourth book in the series and focuses on Grace and her men. I suggest that you read the books in order to understand this "world".
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
