Born in Baltimore, Maryland, where she grew up on the outskirts of the city, Johnni Sherri has always been a true lover of the arts. As a natural born introvert, reading, writing and drawing had quickly become her favorite pass times. After graduating from East Carolina University with her bachelor’s degree, she remained in North Carolina where she currently resides with her husband and three beautiful children. And although today, she works in corporate America, she still continues to make time for one of her greatest passions, writing.
After secretly writing many short stories over the years, in 2016 Johnni Sherri began penning her first novel just for amusement. On a whim, she entered a short story contest in 2017 and won her first publishing contract. With this opportunity she was able to release her very first five star series titled, Protect My Sister’s Heart, which is set to be re-released in 2018. With her writing, she strives to detail the complex realities of young urban love in a way her readers can relate to. Her goal is always to paint a picture with every page, leaving booklovers yearning for more. However, fully understanding that Urban Fiction and African American Romance is not for everyone, she feels that if she can touch just one heart or mind with her work, than the late night typing is well worth it.
This series was really good❤️❤️ I’m so glad Melo & Raquel got profess they’re love at the end (sounds like a good spinoff 😂😂😜) they are my favorite couple. Micah & Risa finally got they’re happy ending 😍😍❤️❤️
This series was so good I didn't want it to end! All the sisters and brothers got what they wanted and hopefully we at least get an update. Johnni you wrote the mess out this serious hun!
And the great story line continues.. I love this series and all the couple's I'm glad that the girls stood there ground and didn't just allow the guys to do anything to them. I'm the in all of them came together
I see why fans are screaming for a spin off, this book is too good to let go. Even though this book wrapped up a lot of things I can see another book in this series. Great read.
Johnni I was introduced to your writing through the Cafeteria. I read Love and the Game books first and I posted on your facebook page in the wee hours of the morning after finishing the 2nd book because it was sooooo good. Then I was upset because the third book wasn't out yet so it took me a while to start this book lol (petty). BUT honey you're just an amazing writer all together. I loved this series and all the sisters and brothers are my favorite!!
I enjoyed part 2....I love the way the Borrego brothers and the Brimmage sister found their way together. Some of the things that transpired in the story wasn't realistic...but, overall it really was a cute story.
These couples' bonds are so tight, it was so personal for me. I've connected with them in the various books. I cried and need a break behind the loss of life. I absolutely love how these women had so much self-love, they put their foot down to say, "Get it right, or get lost!" There are so many gems young people can learn from this story. The heartbreaks and forgiveness each had lessons attached. Truly blessed thru the mess! Another 5-star Diamond Johnni!!💯🥰🎊🎉
This was the first series I have read by this author and I was not disappointed. The vivid details throughout the book definitely kept my attention & had me on edge wondering what was gonna happen or what secret was coming out next. Of course there were some emotional scenes (with Brandi) & funny scenes with the brothers and Grandma. Raquel was something else too...she just couldnt control her mouth! I loved the ending but the characters seemed so real til I would like to know what happened with the other couples. Good job Author Sherri.
When I say that I absolutely loved this series, I am not lying. Johnni Sherri has acquired a true fan. I was so entertained by those Borrego brothers and Brimmage sisters. The ending was priceless!!
I wanted more. There are questions that didn't get answered, like what happened with Calisa and Anton. What happened with Melo, Raul, Anton. It was alright but it could've been so much better if it was longer or made into another book.
I'm glad everything worked out for Micah and Risa. Dre and Romi were meant to be together. I'm glad Dre was finally able to express his feelings to Raquel. I loved Beautiful and Dame. Great job I enjoyed it.
It was a good book. The story continues though which I'm kind of aggrieved about. Only because I want to know what happened with the Borregeo's, Melos relationship, etc.
Other than that it was a great read. I'm looking forward for other books by this author.
This book was everything from beginning to end drama action intense couples up and down suspense revelation revealed intense enjoyed reading and happy ending!
I hate that it's over. I'm glad everyone got their happy ending. I want more though. Whatever happened with Calisa and Mr. Borrego lol. Great Read! I'm gonna miss them...
This is a wonderful book. I normally don't read books by new authors but I am so glad I took a chance with this one. This book will have you laughing, crying and getting angry at the same time. If you're looking for a good series that isn't drawn out into 4 or 5 books, look no further than Protect My Sister's Heart. You won't be disappointed! I'm looking forward to reading more books by Johnni Sherri.
I loved this 2 book series! It was better than the first! I only want to know what happened with Mr and Mrs Borrego, Timo, Sabrina. I assume Raquel and Melo will work it all out! I was so overjoyed that Romi and Dre married as well as Risa and Micah! Very good read! Maybe Johnni will do a spin off in the future??????
It goes to show how much pain and heartache families go through but still manage to stick together. I definitely recommend this 2 part series. You will love it!
Okay soo we lead off with Risa getting arrested for Zo’s murder but her daddy told he not to worry. Crazy right????, In the meantime Micah says he’s committed to Risa. When Timo finds out Micah is dating Risa he is salty because now she is being accused of murdering his brother! After Risa is released her and Micah continue their relationship until Micah is busted with Melody. Meanwhile Dame has graduated and he solely committed to Raina. By the time Raina graduates at 18, Dame surprises her with a ball in New Orleans! Mello and Raquel are going strong and when Mello’s Dad invites them to Cuba, it will be a trip that neither one of them will forget. Secrets, secrets and more, oh my! Dre finds out Romi had his son. Brandi is still hanging around and slowly prior to the baby being born Dre had dissolved their relationship to being friends. He had realized his love for Romi was deep! While getting their relationship back on track, Brandi reveals she is pregnant too. While Micah begs for Risa’s forgiveness she has went off to Harvard. Mello finally realizes he loves Raquel but her music career has taken off and now California is feeling pretty good, while he has been in Miami. Uncle Anton is trying to get with his wife Calisa and that does not seem to be going that well after they separated. Soo much to read and see how the ending will happen but the reunion is beautiful! After 3 times someone will say yes after the third time and one couple will elope. Loved, loved this story!!!!!!
Book two and the final installment in this series picks up where book one left off. We get all caught up in the Brimmage sisters and Borrego brothers' drama. And what drama it was! Again, Sherri isn't short on creating conflict among the various couples and I liked that the siblings were there for one another throughout it all. The character development was evident among each of the main characters as they grew throught a lot of the pain and pleasures of life that they experienced. My fav couple had to be Raquel and Melo for their oil and water dynamics. I felt the author did a better job juggling all the couples in this book, however the writing was a bit choppy at times while all the main characters were together in scenes.
There were some interesting twist and turns that weren't expected and I like that all the relationships weren't the same in the sense of a 'cookie cutter' kind of romance. All the conflicts from book one get resolved, though I felt the epilogue was rushed in some instances when wrapping up prior events of book one. Example: who killed Zo and Melo and Raquel's situation.
The second installment of this series was just as fire as the first! There are some secrets revealed about the Borrego family and some twists that even I was surprised to witness! I kind of wish there was a third part to this story but because there as so much going on maybe a third part would had been too much. Questions from the fist book are answered as secrets are revealed. Risa kept Micah’s ass chasing her after his infidelity in the last book! She was not letting up on getting back with him for NOTHING. I almost felt bad for the guy! Romy pissed me off even considering not telling Dre the paternity of that baby. Ms. Carissa took one look at that baby and called her son right away, as she should had!. I do feel as if this part focused more on Risa and Micah along with Raquel and Melo’s relationships.
I'm so loving how everyone got their HEA even though they are young couples. I love how Micah, Dre, and Dame manned up to be the men that Risa, Romi, and Raina needed them to be. I think it's cute that both twins, Tisa and Risa, are pregnant at the same time and it would be awesome if they both had twins. I'm glad that in the end Melo stepped up to the plate to reclaim Raquel. That kiss was everything. The only two negative things comes to mind is what happened with Charles and his wife and did she find out about him and Romi's affair?? And did Mr. and Mrs. Borrego get a divorce?? Other than that...This book was totally fire🔥🔥
