SUMMER ROMANCE FOR NERDS
Narumi and Hirotaka's relationship is going swimmingly, so now the two have a new problem: the rumor mill. The couple is going to have to rely on Hirotaka's reputation as an undateable gamer to quash the gossip, because it's shaping up to be a busy summer. There's a double date with Hanako and Taro at a festival, Narumi's first try at cosplaying, and even that otaku classic: a hot springs episode. Meanwhile, when Naoya's incredible misunderstanding about his new friend Ko comes to a head, will their friendship survive?
Am I still screeching into the abyss about how much I love this ridiculous manga? Yup. Ko and Naoya's subplot is so cute and wholesome and I want to smush their faces together. I'm getting a little impatient about how long it's taking Hirotaka to just tell Narumi how he feels already, but at the same time I'm enjoying his character development, so it kind of evens out.
This focuses a good portion on the couple (or soon to be couple) on the cover. It's the little brother finally realizing his new friend is a girl. And you can tell he already likes her a lot. .So a good portion of this volume has that focus. We also get a cute time at the festival with everyone. We also deal with some good vacation time with the company they work for.
Overall, the plot feels a little stand still now but it's always cute and funny. A 4 out of 5.
A little too mild, a lot too scattered. I sort of like the core group of friends, but I do need them to actually do something once in a while. Anything, really.
Or not. Having made it halfway through the series I'll probably finish it.
This series remains hilariously fun - it’s such a pleasure to read and I love all the references Fujita includes throughout (even if I don’t get them all).
This volume made a better impression than the first couple, maybe because the bickering couple isn't in the spotlight very often, and when they are, they're being relatively sweet with each other.
I always seem to put off progressing in this series, only to regret dragging my feet later every time I finish another volume and get reminded how sweet and great it is. So I'm here to say that yet again, this is such a fun volume, this series is a delight, and I love the sheer number of little references that are made but don't overstay their welcome. The majority focus of this volume is a con and then a company trip our main four characters go on, as well as the progression of the relationship between Nao-chan and Ko-kun. I don't have much to remark on here, but once again, I really love the humor and the softer moments in this series. It really continues to be worth the read!
I love these mangas so much, but this one just felt like a bit of a filler more than actual substance.
We did get a few super cute Hirotaka and Narumi scenes. And even one super cute scene at the end with Hanako and Taro that made me literally swoon. But for the most part, this fell a bit short for me. But I still adore this manga, it is currently one of my faves and I will be picking the next one up asap to continue this story.
I am still shook that I even like slice of life mangas, who am I? lol
I’m still getting confused with the order of scenes sometimes, but I figure it out after a while. I really enjoy getting to know the characters and seeing the fun things they do, but I kinda wish it dived into their background a bit more.
This series is just so wholesome and cute. I love the connections between all the characters and how everyone is supporting eachother, cant wait to see what happens next.
I pre-ordered this book but then Amazon had so many problems getting it to me that I had to cancel my order! Luckily I found it in Forbidden Planet, because I have been dying to read it since I've finished Volume 2! The cliffhanger at the end of volume 2 had me pre-ordering volume 3 asap, and I am so glad that I have managed to get this book and read it! I had forgotten how this series made me feel. It made me feel like I was coming home. I relate so much to these characters, and I like the reinforcement that my hobbies are not weird and it is okay for me to like what I do like. The relationship between Narumi and Hirotaka is also so heart-warming because of how sweet it is!
I liked the plot of this volume, but more so because I didn't know what was coming. With the previous volumes, the manga was almost identical to the anime. This volume is the most different, so I really enjoyed reading new things about the same characters. I am looking forward to reading the future volumes, but I know it will be a while before they are out because it will have to get published, and then translated into English. I am hoping that through my continued support of this series that this will happen fast!
I love the characters in this series too. They are all my children in my eyes. My favourite character has to be Hirotaka, followed by Narumi and Nao-chan. I love how closed off Hirotaka's feelings are, yet Narumi brings them out of him. I hope their relationship develops more in the following volumes. It will be interesting to see them take a few more serious steps.
I love this series, so I would highly recommend it to everyone!
as always this manga is funny and cute. We learn more little by little and I really enjoy it. There is not a lot to say a bout it because each number is not so much action packed but still enjoyable to me. And I am really excited to learn more about Hirotaka's brother who is extra soft and cute.
