Get Dirty #2

Dirty Laundry

Rate this book
I’m a reporter, and I’ve got the best assignment in the world–get dirt on the hottest country star on the charts, Keith Perkins.
The sexy beast who rocks those tight jeans like nobody’s business.
I’m supposed to learn all of his Dirty Laundry, his deepest and darkest secrets.
Without sleeping with him.
Easy enough, right?
Wrong.

I mean, just looking at him makes me wonder what those big, rough hands could do to me. With a voice that’s one part velvet and one part growl, it’s hard for me to sass him when he melts me into a puddle with a single look.

And when he sings?
All bets are off.
He owns the stage . . . and maybe some naughty parts of my body too.

But he’s notoriously single and notoriously private.

Given his status as a walking sex god, neither makes sense.
Something is amiss, and I’m going to figure out exactly what it is.

But if I’m not careful, I might just become his dirty little secret.

Dirty Talk is a full-length Romance with a happy ever after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger!

Dirty Laundry is the second book in the Get Dirty series. It’s a standalone. It’s another great book by Lauren Landish and it has a beautiful ending. Dirty Laundry tells us the love story between a journalist and a celebrity.

Elise is a journalist and she works for a tabloid trash. Her next article will be about Keith Perkins. Keith Perkins is a famous country singer, but he has been hiding something for years. Elise follows Keith everywhere, hoping to find some dirt on him. After her first article, she has to interview Keith and write multiple articles about his life. Elise still hopes to find out more about Keith. Each time Keith and Elise meet to talk, they grow closer and develop feelings for each other. When Elise discovers Keith’s secret, she has to choose between her career and her growing feelings for Keith.

Keith and Elise are great characters. Keith is talented, passionate, strong, kind and loving. He is closed off to everybody but his sister, just to keep his secret a secret. It’s very important to him, so he doesn’t like it that Elise gets so close to him. He’s attracted to her, but he hates her profession. It has been years since Keith loved someone like he loves Elise. Keith loves to perform and sing. Being a famous country star was his big dream since he was little.

Elise is sweet, smart, passionate and genuine. She loves being a journalist, but she just wished that it wasn’t for a tabloid. She hopes that the articles about Keith will give her more opportunities. Elise already liked Keith when she was just following him and that liking only becomes stronger and stronger. Keith and Elise are a great couple.

Trashy tabloid reporter, Elise, has just been given the assignment of digging up dirt on the private country singer, Keith. After taking pictures of him buying feminine hygiene products at a grocery store, rumors about Keith’s love life skyrocket, and since Elise was the one who started the rumor, she’s now tasked with doing a multiple part interview with the man. Their chemistry is off the charts, but Keith is clearly hiding something, and the closer he gets to Elise, the bigger risk his secrets will come out.

I liked this 100% safe, sort-of enemies-to-lovers romance. It was funny and sweet and sexy. Elise wasn’t an inexperienced, naïve girl and Keith wasn’t a manwhore deluxe (which is a trope I see all too often) so I was a happy girl. Keith was suuuuch a dirty talker, and his chemistry with Elise was through the roof.

It’s one of those stories with just enough angst, but that still leave you feeling better and happier than when you started.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was given a copy of this to review.

I yet again find myself enjoying this series. I love Keith and Elise. Even if Keith was rough in the beginning. I get why but still. I loved their relationship and loved how open his family was to Elise. I knew things would come out but I didn't see it going the way that it did. However, things ended well and that was all I needed.

Big Country Star and the Tabloid Reporter

Keith Perkins hates paparazzi. At 30, he’s finally hit it big as one of Country Music’s biggest star and songwriters. But while Keith’s big secret is known only to his tight-knit circle of friends, he’s tenacious about guarding the one precious and innocent thing he has from the public world.

Keith tells it like it is, and he’s known to say that all he wants to do is:

“Sing songs, play music, go the f*@k home, that’s all”

Although he’s in disguise, one evening Keith makes the mistake of running errands clueless to the fact he’s being tailed.

Elise Warner’s mission is to spy on Keith Perkins. It’s not the investigative reporting job Elise envisioned for herself, but work at the tabloid magazine, The Daily Spot, is enough to pay the bills. But the slimeball of an editor wants Elise to dig up any smut about Keith. When Elise spies Keith buying maxi pads at the grocery, it’s enough dirt to speculate he has a love interest. She writes an article assuming he might have a girlfriend, and all hell breaks loose. What follows is a reluctant Keith allowing some interviews to defray from the gossip.

Elise and Keith can’t deny the attraction between them. Keith’s heart sparks alive each time he spends it with Elise, and he just might be willing to trust her in revealing the truth behind his superstardom. An unexpected turn of events has Elise staring at Keith’s past. It wasn’t the way Keith wanted to reveal it, but can Elise be trusted enough to not throw him under the bus once she is privy to his secret? But things go awry when Keith is targeted in a blackmail scheme. I love what happens next and just cheered for these two.

I love the push and pull between Keith and Elise. The chemistry is electric. It was a slow simmer, at first, and got really sizzling hot! Just fair warning there are a lot of sexy, steamy scenes in this romance. Ms. Landish pulls out all the stops in this entertaining and well-written story. Dirty Laundry is an enjoyable read, has some funny parts, and can be a bit emotional. All in all, a recommended read for fans of steamy romance. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This story has a very dirty soundtrack, because you'll not realize when the words are replaced by lyrics and viceversa. And that's because Keith Perkins knows perfectly how to play ( the guitar or Elise ). And Keith plays dirty very very dirty. But trust me you'll love every single of his skills. He gets the right cards and know how and when to use them on his vantage. Why is Keith so damn irresistible? He is a country singer with a very rich and dirty mind. He's not a bad guy, inked and a womanizer. Women are far from his first priority. Because he is really to give it all away just to protect his biggest secret. Because that secret has on a gold lock. It's off limits.
Keith lives his fame the way he wants and nobody has an word on his private life.
But Elise needs his private "juice" . ( Yes Keith is a very "dirty talk" influence). What she doesn't know is that Keith likes to tease and he is the master of any wicked game, dirty talk, hot fantasy. His naughty charm get under her skin, control her mind and "play" her body like his guitar. Keith and Elise have a lot to lose by living this dangerous attraction, but they 'd also win something. And when the "game" has such a craved prize well you are ready to risk a little just to savour it.
Dirty Laundry has a dual POV. And that will help you see how the " dirty"Keith slowly corrupts the " innocent" Elise. Until she will play along as dirty as him. And that will give to all the readers some of the HOTTEST scenes I have ever read. Overall all those scenes are so intense, open and great written that you'll never complain by the "cheeky" vibe. It will flue all your fantasies and REALLY make you shiver.
So are you sure you can handle this dirty dynamite called Keith Perkins? Cuz you won't regret you met him.

Lauren Landish is an author to have grabbed my attention on many occasions, and I have been meaning to pick up many of her books. It wasn’t until I grabbed Dirty Talk, however, that I finally received my introduction to the author’s work. Having read and enjoyed Dirty Talk I told myself I would be reading more of Lauren Landish’s books, but despite downloading a few to my Kindle the second Get Dirty book is the first chance I have had to dive into another of the author’s work.

I’ll be completely honest, I did not enjoy Dirty Laundry as much as I enjoyed Dirty Talk. Each book in this series is a standalone novel, connected only by the characters, but I was interested to see how this story would play out based upon the glimpse we were given in the prior book. Not only did I enjoy the female lead, but it is one of my favourite types of romance stories – the musician. Although enjoyable in many ways, it just didn’t pack the same punch as Dirty Talk – and due to this I would label this book as more of a three-point-five-star read than the four stars I gave it. However, I did enjoy it enough to round my rating up.

I think the reason I enjoyed this one less was due to the pacing of the story. Some elements seemed to be over far too quickly whereas other elements seemed to drag on for longer than was necessary. I was enjoying what was going on, even if a few things were a bit on the predictable side, but I felt as though the pacing wasn’t quite right. With such an interesting story, with quite a few fun elements involved, pacing is essential – and there were multiple occasions where things didn’t feel quite right for me.

Nevertheless, there was plenty to keep you engaged throughout. There was plenty of drama to be found, emotions were running high, and there was steam in abundance. That said, I favoured the steam in Dirty Talk, but I preferred the actual relationship of Dirty Laundry.

There is no doubt I will be continuing with this series. I may not have enjoyed this second book as much as the first, but it was an enjoyable read. Before book three, Dirty Deeds, comes out, I plan to give Dirty Dream a read – I had planned to read it prior to Dirty Laundry but from what I’ve heard it will work perfectly fine after. When it comes to Dirty Deeds, though, my fingers are crossed as to whose story we get – I have some stories I really would like to see play out in the future.

Dirty Laundry is the second book in the interconnecting standalone series, Get Dirty. This is my first read of this author.

Elise Warner is a reporter on a local tabloid but is striving to be taken more seriously and aims for bigger things. However in the meantime she takes her job seriously even if it is just gossip mongering. Her latest assignment has her trailing hot county singer Keith Perkins.

Keith Perkins has been a hot shot country star for the last decade or so but he is a private man and media shy. Therefore his music persona is a draw for the gossip reporters which is a hard task to keep pushed back, after all Keith has a big secret that can never be revealed.

I liked the plotline of this romance, in that the two main characters at first are in a kind of enemies camp but as the two get to know each other they cannot deny the attraction they have for each other. There was sufficient steam and depth in the story and I liked the backstory and secondary characters (with two who were there to be despised). The pace was a little uneven with some things being drawn out too long and others being completed too quickly.

Overall though an enjoyable read and I love opposite types attract trope especially where a musician is involved. This for me was a four star read and I shall look forward to read more from this author.

Elise is a reporter tasked with the job of getting the goods on sexy, single, country star Keith Perkins. She doesn't want to seem obvious when spying on him, so she goes undercover. In doing so, she finds some pretty interesting things Keith does not want made public, but Elise posts them online. She needs her job, at the online tabloid The Daily Spot, and the trash she delivers will, hopefully, get her her dream job as an investigative reporter. After stirring the pot, Elise gets an exclusive. Keith is not happy but he agrees to meet with Elise. They talk, flirt and learn a lot about each other. Soon they begin to feel a pull toward each other, one they are finding hard to resist. Elise needs her story. Keith needs to protect his private life. His secret. As much as he would like to see where this could lead, the truth of the matter is, right now, he doesn't need the complication especially from a sexy, confident woman who just might betray him in the end.
WOW ! EVERY TIME I READ ONE OF LAUREN'S BOOKS IT INSTANTLY BECOMES MY FAVORITE, SO KEEPING WITH THAT ASSESSMENT, DIRTY LAUNDRY IS DEFINITELY MY NEW FAVORITE ! ! ! SMOOTH AND EFFORTLESS WRITING WITH MIND BLOWING, SOUL SHATTERING SEX MAKE FOR A GREAT READ ! ! ! BEST CHARACTER INNER DIALOGUE EVER !

I received an ARC of this book from Give me Books Promotions for an honest review.

Keith Perkins is the “Luke Bryan” of country music with one glaring exception – he is incredibly private. Kind of to the point of absurdity. But when you’re a celebrity, you can’t be too careful. And Keith has a huge secret he’s been keeping for several years – and he goes to great lengths to protect that secret.

Elise Warner is a “reporter” for a gossip rag magazine. She’s been following Keith around trying to get the scoop on him. She catches him in an awkward situation, that has the potential to expose his secret, and Keith agrees to give Elise a series of interviews so that he can control the narrative.

Man, Keith was one hell of an alpha. I personally love alphas, so I loved his character. Once you read this, and know what his secret is, it will make you like him even more. He’s a good guy, just trying to do what is best. Elise is a likable character, despite what she does for a living. She really wanted more for herself than to work for a gossip rag (think Andie Anderson from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days).

I thought I had this book figured out but I couldn’t have been more wrong. This book went in a totally different direction and it was surprisingly believable. I liked the way it was handled overall.

I have one big criticism though. The model on the cover is brunette and we hear at least 4 times that Elise is a blonde – I hate that. I use the cover models at the basis of my “mind’s eye” when I’m reading. It also wasn’t clear where this book was set (city, state). I also wish the epilogue would have been more in the future, but hey, I’m happy there was an epilogue!

The sex scenes in this book, much like Dirty Talk, are really graphic and steamy. They felt really believable.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it.

I had a bit of trouble getting into this story initially, but I don't blame that on the writing. I read many things, but tabloids are not one of them. I can honestly say that I hate tabloids. I will stand in the checkout line in the grocery store and read the nutrition lable on a Snickers Bar for fun before I set my eyes on those covers. I find them offensive, and I'm generally not easy to offend. So, I sort of hated the heroine within the first few pages. And then hero came across as an ass and I got really worried about the fate of this story, but I'm not one to quit too soon and I'm glad I kept reading.
It turned into a fun story pretty quickly. The secret motives are revealed pretty early on, and after that I have to admit that it was easy to see where things were going, but it didn't hinder the story telling or my enjoyment of it. The dialogue is, well, raunchy. And there is a ton of sex. But there was also a sweet story and some laughs. (Not that I have a problem with raunchy sex 😉) Honestly, I'll be sticking this book on my "guilty-pleasure" shelf.

The Secrets You Keep!

Oooh! Now that is some ' Dirty Laundry' I am all for having around!
Lauren Landish's newest book in the Get Dirty Series should come with a warning about it how it may cause internal combustion and a very heated couple of hours!
Watching the country singing Keith and tabloid reporter Elsie fight their feelings, the sensual back and forth tug of war for control *squeals* and keeping all the secrets swirling around them under wraps was spectacular!
Mmmhmm, this break from reality guilty pleasure fest of heart-swelling feels and an array of humorous interactions, with some of the hottest scenes I have read so far this year kept me glued to my kindle!
Along with the characters who were well-developed and leaped off of the pages within the detailed story. I love Ms. Landish's characters; there always seems to be a great mix of down to earth realism and good ole' fiction to them making me want to know more about them right away.
I have a new favorite book! An absolutely dirty one, But SO WORTH READING!!! 5 Stars!!

Oh my! This book was off the charts hot! Keith, a country star, and Elise, a tabloid reporter, have off the chart chemistry! But he has a secret she wants to expose. Will the secret come out and the word spread tearing lives apart? You have to get this book to find out. The banter between all these characters is awesome. You get a dual POV here with a HEA that will warm your heart! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fresh new story!

Dirty Laundry by Lauren Landish a five-star read that I couldn’t write a review good enough to describe how good this read is. This was a great read, I’m a huge fan of the author but this was the best example of her writing I’ve read so far. Keith Tiberius Perkins was a whole hunk of man I would climb like a tree, he was written in a such a manner that you couldn’t want a better man, to the outside world and to most he was just a boring man, with an interesting job, he wrote songs and performed them on a stage but other than that he didn’t do much. At least he didn’t on the surface, and it’s under that surface that Journalist Elise Warner wants to get, she wants to find out what makes him tick as well as get to know the ma under the hat find out what he does in his own time, what secret is he hiding. Elise hasn’t had the best of luck and she could really do with some, will she get her chance to follow her dream or will her jellybean shaped boss keep holding her back?
There is so much to this story, it will keep you hooked from the first to the last page, there is chemistry immediately between Keith and Elise and the secondary characters all played their own part in the story and the secrets revealed are sublime!! This is the second book in the Get Dirty series but each book tells the story of a different couple, so you don’t need to read them in order.

Dirty Laundry by Lauren Landish is book Two in the "Dirty Laudry" series. This is the story of Keith and Elise. I have read the previous book but this one can easily be a standalone book.
Elise is a report on the hunt for a story from the famous Country Music Star Keith Perkins. Keith is a private person but ends up giving a interview to Elise. This attraction was hot and instant but Elise soon learned what Keith is hiding and knows that she won't be able to break the story. But if she doesn't tell the story then someone else will.
This was a hot quick read that I really enjoyed!

WOW.... just WOW.

Gotta love rock star romances... or country music star romance in this case.
Either way, Keith Perkins sure rocked my work. *ba dum tsss*
Sorry.
He's just so... yummy!
Sexy, hot, growly and in control at all times.
I.can't.even.

To quote Elise:
"It’s just one of those accepted facts. Grass is green, water is wet, and Keith Perkins is sexy as fuck."

Btw, read "Dirty Dream".
You don't have to but you will be thanking me later.
You're welcome.

Ohhh, I can't wait to know who the characters from "Dirty Deeds" are.

Dirty Laundry
Get Dirty, Book #2
By Lauren Landish
Author’s Website: http://www.laurenlandish.com/
Brought to you by OBS reviewer Heidi

Tabloid reporter, Elise, has been following country star, Keith Perkins, trying to find out any big dark secrets he may have so she can expose them! She’s starting to think there is nothing to tell when she finds him buying feminine hygiene products! She writes an article, complete with pictures, speculating that he must have a secret girlfriend! Once the piece is published his lawyers contact the paper wanting a retraction. Her boss ends up talking them into having Keith do a set of all-access interviews for a set of articles instead. Donnie wants to give the assignment to someone else, but Elise talks him into letting her do it.

Keith isn’t happy about doing the interviews, especially when the reporter that started this whole mess shows up at his door. However, he has to go along with the plan, it’s the only way to steer the nosey reporter away from his real secret, his twelve year old daughter, Carsen! Keith has done his best to give his daughter a normal childhood and he knows it will all come crashing down if the world finds out about her.

Keith and Elise are forced to spend time together for the interviews, and there is a heat between the two of them that they can’t ignore! But what will happen when Elise discovers the one thing he’s tried so hard to keep from her and the rest of the world?

I loved the first book of this series, Dirty Talk, so I had to get my hands on this one as well. Unfortunately, I just didn’t like this one as much. I found that it was too predictable. Once Elise decided to keep Keith’s secret, I knew that the truth was going to come out, and I had a good idea, who would be behind it all. And, when it did come out both Keith and Elise tossed and turned trying to figure out what to do, when I came up with the same solution Maggie did in a matter of minutes. I’m thinking these two just aren’t that swift. It really was the only choice they really had.

I was really surprised by Keith. I just didn’t expect the good ol’ country boy to be such a dom! Good thing for Elise that he was more into pleasure than anything else! Although I find it hard to believe that he can be so good at it considering he hasn’t had a relationship of any kind in several years! I would think he’d be a little out of practice. He’s a little too bossy for my tastes though and really unrealistic with his expectations of keeping his daughter a secret.

The ending was pretty swoon-worthy, although I expected what he was going to do there as well!

This was an okay read, but expect the expected! What you think is going to happen, probably will.

This is the second book in the Get Dirty series and this book does not disappoint…

Elise is working for a sleazy tabloid its not the dream job that she wanted in journalism but for now its paying her bills. She has been following and investigating the hottest country star in the country looking for some dirt that she can expose, but so far has come up with nothing. Until she thinks she has finally unearthed a scandal which leads to a series of interviews where the sparks and chemistry between the pair is explosive. Elise is hoping that these interviews will lead to better opportunites in different areas of journalism, she is very passionate about her career but is she willing to risk it all for the love she feels for Kevin.

Kevin Perkins has never wanted to do anything other than sing, hes a talented and very passionate character but has been closed off to everyone in the world, the only person he is really close to is his sister Sarah and together they hide his greatest secret. Elise is the last person he wants to be around as she threatens everything he holds dear but he cannot stop the chemistry that explodes between them. But can he trust her when she finds out his most treasured secret? And will Elise choose her career as a journalist or keep Keith’s secret and choose love above all else. Or will the choice be taken away from them?

These two characters spark off each other from the start and you cannot but love Elise and rout for them as a couple. Very enjoyable book and I recommend you read Dirty Dream before this although is not necessary but well worth it.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I really loved this second book in the Get Dirty series. Elise and Keith were such a sexy couple and a little on the naughty side. Elise is a reporter for a gossip magazine with dreams of goals of becoming an investigative reporter. Keith is one of the top country singers who likes to keep his private life out of the spotlight. Elise has been following him around for a few day to try and find out whatever secrets he is hiding. The two meet when she given an all access interview to try and repair the damage that was created when she hinted at what Keith may be hiding when she published her story. The two have an instant attraction to one another and soon find themselves falling for one another. Eventually Elise learns of Keith's well kept secret and knows she can not reveal it. Things are going well for them and the series of articles are doing well for Keith's image. Elise's boss is not happy with what she has written so far and still wants her to find out the dirt on Keith or he will assign someone else to the story. Little do Elise and Keith know that her boss has been having another reporter following them and she has uncovered Keith secret. Donnie, Elise's boss gives Keith two options to keep his secret, pay up or he releases a story about how Keith is using Elise to keep his secret. Well, Elise and Keith come up with their own plan and reveal the secret before Donnie publishes it. This was a wonderful story and very well written. I loved how protective Keith was with his family. Awesome ending! I can not wait to read the next book in the series.

Keith is a country singing star. But he's alone and plans to stay that way, at least for the next 8 years or so. You see Keith has a secret, one he'll do almost anything to keep anyone from finding out.

Elise is an investigative reporter. Although she is stuck working at a tabloid, she dreams of making it big. Elise has been following Keith for a while now, trying to figure out if he's hiding something. How can someone that hot and that famous be leading the life of a monk? Until one day, she sees something that makes her believe that Keith has a woman hiding away. When she writes about what she has found, Keith is not happy. His label is not happy. They agree that Keith will do a series of interviews with Elise so she can get to know the real Keith.

As the interviews start, the chemistry heats up. Elise soon learns Keith's secret and vows to keep it. Unfortunately, Elise's smarmy boss has Elise and Keith followed and learns Keith's secret too. Only he wants 3.5 million dollars to keep it.

This was a great book. The characters were well developed and the sex was beyond hot. I love Lauren Landish's books. This one was no exception. There were a few things that bugged me though. The woman in the cover has dark hair and Elise is a blond. Keith repeatedly uses the word "underpants" when talking about his boxer briefs. Girls wear underpants, not grown men. And I kept wondering where in the heck was the story set. Where is East Robinsville? I still loved the book and recommend it.

I received an ARC of this book, but I also bought my own. This is my honest review.

Elise is a reporter and she is getting sick of getting the bad stories. So she is hoping her latest assignment will get her into something bigger. She has been following country music singer Keith Perkins around to get something news worthy. Elise snaps a picture of him buying feminine hygiene products. It causes a big stir about if he has a new woman in his life. To say Keith Perkins is mad about the pictures is mildly true but since they are false information there's nothing to be done. Someone from his label gets him to agree to an 3 piece interview set he agrees even though he doesn't want to do it. When he sees Elise the sparks fly and he almost refuses to be interviewed but she agrees to answer any of his questions as the work together. They get really closer during the interviews and they end up sleeping together. However Elise doesn't know that Keith has been keeping a secret from her and it could end whatever they are building together. Can Keith tell her what he is hiding? Can Keith keep his privacy and his relationship with Elise a secret?

This was a great love story about finding love in the least expected way. The chemistry between Keith and Elise is electrifying hot. Every story I read by this author is even better than the last. This was a very entertaining story and was fast paced. I can't wait to read more by this author in the future.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this story. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.

Dirty Laundry by Lauren Landish is book 2 in the "Dirty Laudry" series. This is the story of Keith and Elise. Keith Perkins hates paparazzi. At his age of 30, he’s finally hit it big as one of Country Music’s biggest star. But he has huge secret, ones only his super close friends know about. Elise is a reporter whose main job is to get the down low on sexy, single, country star Keith Perkins. She doesn't want to seem obvious when spying on him, so she goes undercover. Will the secret come out and the word spread tearing their lives apart? Elise and Keith meet and they have this instant chemistry. They definitely are made for one another but the secrets on both sides play havoc with them really getting close to one another. The banter between the H/h is so hot. I loved the plot of this story and I was hooked pretty immediately. The plot flows, the chemistry is sizzling and the main characters are likeable and relatable. There are some twists and turns that will have you hanging on until the last word to find out of there will be an HEA for this story. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
My Rating: 4.6 stars *****
