Okay, so here's the truth . . . every romance reader has their illogical weakness, usually something along the lines of misogynistic MC Heroes, or Alexa Riley-style insta, or cruel bullies.
But for me? Sybil Bartel alphas are my kryptonite. I LOVE them!
A huge thank you to LEILA for suggesting we read this . . . turns out it was exactly what I needed to take my mind off all the doom and gloom in the world lately.

As an aside: Leila was kind enough to point out my hypocrisy where condoms are concerned, haha, because there aren't any in this book. It made me realize that I haven't been clear in my WHINING in the last few books I've reviewed.
In Hollywood Dirt and The Younger Man there was absolutely no mention of protection at all, like the stories took place in an alternate dimension where STD's and babies never happen. Here, however, the author gives us the characters' thought process/reasons; she didn't have her Hero pretend there are no consequences at all. And apparently, I'm good with that. :D

And true to her style, the plot takes place over a very short span of time, and as always, there's me, believing every word of it. :D
I didn't know you could fall for a stranger.This time we get Tyler's story! (I think he's had a role in every one of the 8 books I've read.) And he's paired with Calandra, a client of Luna and Associates who has a stalker.
"I know we're crossing all sort of lines. So you need to tell me to back off." I paused. "Or give me the words to move in. Either way, your decision."And that right there is the secret to Ms. Bartel's alphas, because under all the swoon-worthy competence and the gruff, domineering exterior is a man any woman could fall in love with.
I loved how his voice spoke to me more than his words. How his touch caressed more than my skin.And I always adore the banter between the guys and this time I got to meet all of Tyler's brothers - and his mom, who made for some great comic relief.

She was the prettiest woman I'd ever laid eyes on, but more than that, she just fucking felt right. Like two parts coming together, we fucking fit.Please don't try to read this as a standalone. All of this author's books are interconnected and you'll lose out on some great nostalgia with all the cameos if you do. Start with either Thrust or Talon, both of which are freebies. (YAY!)

One important lesson reading this book is never listen to family or friends because I swear sometimes I feel like no two people read - or interpret - a book the same way! Though anyone that can say that this is a good story, well... I have a bridge to sell you!
I wanted a light romance that had a bit of drama & suspense to combat all the dark & shitty romances I've been reading lately. I was told (wrongly I might add!) that this was a good one, but what I didn't want or expect, is to have a major headache reading this thing! 😩😩
First of, there is the ridiculousness (even if it's fiction) in this story of this couple who meet and by the end of the day, they are in love & talking of "forever" - A Hero who never had a relationship or even a girlfriend - only "flings" & a heroine who is an untouched virgin & a Princess to boot of a fictional Country in Greece! Two people with nothing in common & different backgrounds and who know absolutely nothing about each other (even by the end of the day), are within hours all "in". (Alrighty then!😠)
Then we have a BDSM theme going on here which it would have been appreciated if Author could give a heads-up to those of us who are not into those type of reads! Granted it is "light' - meaning no crazy sex & pain or whatever else is typically written. The Hero likes "submissive" heroine who can't think or act on her own without Hero constantly directing her. A more stupid heroine I've never read!
And that was yet another pet peeve of mine! I like strong, kick-ass heroines who can think on their own. Not this clown of a "Princess" who had to constantly be told what to do, say, think, act, etc.! She was like a mannequin or pet that needed direction! (Give me a break!😒)
Then there is the plot - or non plot. We are suppose to believe heroine is being stalked & in danger but from the first minute the "baddie" is introduced in the story, I knew right away who was stalking/threatening her. So where is the mystery, suspense, drama? Nada people!
And let's not forget that the synopsis states that there is a "fake engagement". While it is briefly mentioned by heroine & later POV that Hero would be her date/fake Fiancee, Author never delivers on this plot - at all. (so very misleading!)

This was a total bore for me! I hated the stupid heroine & Hero annoyed me as well. The side characters were also aggravating and the plot held no mystery or suspense. Yet another for the DNF pile. Jeez!
To my dear smart friend Rejane, what was that Portuguese name again for sister-in-law you mentioned the other day? That’s what I am calling mine from now on for steering me wrong on this one & making me suffer!

Reckless is Tyler and Princess Calandra's story. I got such a kick out of Tyler in the book Scandalous. He's now famous due to the Paparazzi video taping him with actress Audrina when she was high as a kite. Tyler was forced to pretend rowing a boat to calm her down as he tried to get her safely to the car and away from the paps.
That embarrassing moment caught on tape is the reason Princes Calandra choose Tyler to protect her from a stalker. The problem is she can't tell him the true reason for his protection but Tyler isn't fooled. He knows something more is going on.
This was another great addition to the Team. I say that because with each book, the author brings back past heroes into the new stories. These men are all allies to each other. They are pure male, military trained and so Alpha that these men check off all the boxes.
That does not mean you can't read any of these books as standalone. The author does a good job of not spoiling previous stories with each new book.
If you want some alpha deliciousness, Sybil Bartel is the queen of writing these Alpha males.

Her overall demeanor was fun to understand and watch as Tyler took down her walls layer by layer. I also loved that she questioned how instantaneous her relationship was.
Tyler has popped up in a few of this author's other stories. It was great to see him as the main character for once. He's sweet, respectful and protective. I really liked seeing him showing human emotions with him being so "alpha" and all. It was a good change of pace for the "alpha male" stereotype. I'm also very intrigued with all of his brothers. I would love a series on them in the near future!
If I'm being honest, I would have liked the stalker reveal to have been more strung along. It happened way too fast and everyone was way too conveniently there for there to have been any real stakes involved. Overall, this was a great read! I especially like how the next book is already set up!

Tyler’s story is the third book in the Alpha Bodyguard series by this author although it didn’t catch me as much as the first two books in the series, I still enjoyed this book. This book is straight into the insta lust, it also heads straight into the suspense of the story as well.
Tyler is a bodyguard. Strong, hard, and straight to the point, Tyler does his job well. He can is like a human lie detector. He knows Calandra is lying, he just can’t work out what about. I love the way Tyler loves his mother. It’s actually really cute to see the bad boy all soft over his mumma.
Calandra is a princess and she is in a little bit of trouble, and that is why she seeks the help of the security firm that Tyler works for. She is quite straight laced, and stiff. I would have liked for her to soften out a little but I guess being a princess makes that hard when you have to act a certain way.
This book would not be a book written by this author if it didn’t have the heated steamy bits. And this book brings them... Holy hotness does it ever. The characters certainly know how to melt my kindle. The story flows well and does keep you intrigued. I can’t wait for the next instalment!

OMG as always I finished Sybil's books in one sitting.
I waited for Tyler's story like forever now and again I haven't been disappointed.
Pretty boy of all the bodyguards,brother of another 4 mens (and we really want their stories now Sybil ) ex marine and sexy as hell ,caring for his friends and family ,even for the people he has to protect.
The new assignment is to protect an art gallery owner ,Princess Calandra and he royally ****** as he falls in love at first sight when he meets her.
Calandra wants to live her own life and doesn't go for her royal title but somehow someone found out and is trying to blackmail her.
In a span of less then 48 h everything is resolved but they also have to learn to trust each other and believe that he is the one for her and he has to accept that she is royalty and will always have more money than him and that his life is going to be different from now on,but he is all in and as he takes her to his mother house for their family dinner, we get to know more about him and what a perfect man Damian is.
I love that in every book we get to see some of the other friends and as usual Talon with his sexy southern accent '' Nothin' doin' darlin'''
I am totally restless for Ruthless and Calandra's redhead assistant and Sawyer.

I LOVED this book so much! The mystery, the action, the ALPHA (sigh)... Sybil has placed us into a world that I NEVER want to leave. Military alphas heroes, PI/personal securities, and stubborn/strong-willed heroines are the perfect recipe for a well-written and exciting book.
Now, for the good stuff... Holy Hotness Batman!!! Did anyone else see that steamy office seen coming when it did? I sure didn't! I had to "legiterally" (yes it's a made up word of legitimately, and literally combined) had to put this down for a bit and go cool off in the 30 degree weather we are having! I was a bit too hot and bothered! 😂 This girl knows how to write a scene, let me tell ya! 😈😈
I am so enthralled with these characters that I absolutely can't wait for Ruthless! In fact, I need it right now! So without further adieu, get on that Sister!!!

I am soooo excited to bring you this review. I have read 80% of Sybil's books and I have not been disappointed. Not once. So, please do me (and yourself) a favour and start reading her books, like, now. :)
What worked for me:
-the sexy alpha male characters work for me. Every. Single. Time.
-the detailed sex scenes are awesome and plentiful
-I am happy this book is part of a series as I would miss these characters otherwise
-the writing continues to be clean and free from any obvious errors
Trigger warnings: stalking
Ideal reader: someone who is a romantic at heart that likes his/her stories to be steamy and full of action

Reckless is a scorching hot addition to this series! I would have read in one sitting if life had been able to slow down. Mystery, action, hot sexiness, and alpha men in abundance. Getting to know each character in this series has been fun. Calandra is certainly Tyler’s princess but Sybil sits on the throne as queen of the alphas. Can’t wait for Sawyer’s story!

Whoa, this is my fave of all Alpha Bodyguard series so far. Yes, it was insta-love. Yes, it was kinda rushing. But I liked Tyler since the "rowing" tragedy and his love for his mother just too sweet. Can't wait for Sawyer or Collins' book!

What in the world. An hour after meeting, Tyler, unprofessional just like in Book 1, makes advances that no one in their right mind would do. Period. Psychotic. That's who acts like this, psychotic people. Absolutely deranged.
DNF but skipped to see who dunnit.

Of the three Alpha books I read this one was the worst. Lead male character? A prick. Not at all likable. Too busy being impressed by himself. Big Macho Man has to be in charge or else. A woman leans on him and BAM! Instantly a “natural submissive” and his dick twitches. Or pulses. Or pulses and twitches.

The third book in the Alpha Bodyguard series is about Tyler, whom we've met in quite a few books set in this universe previously. He's one of the younger bodyguards on Andre Luna's payroll, but he's ex-military and more than capable of doing his job.
When Luna calls Tyler to his residential building to meet a potential new client early one morning, Tyler's wary - he's the only employee who even knows where Andre lives, and Andre never meets clients at his home. When Tyler arrives, he lays eyes on the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. She's well-spoken and regal, and he soon learns why - she is a princess of a small (imaginary) nation near the Greek Islands, but has lived in the US for years.
She goes by Sophia Paradis, her middle and mother's maiden names, but her first name is Calandra. She tells Andre and Tyler that she needs private security for a function she's having at her art gallery the next night because she's wearing expensive jewellery. Andre and Tyler knows she's lying about why she needs protection, but she won't be drawn into telling them the truth. Since she's offering to pay an obscene amount of money for the job, which Tyler needs so he can buy his mother - a woman who raised him and his four brothers alone after his father died in an accident when Tyler was a baby - he accepts the job.
And falls head over heels in love with Calandra, as he calls her after she confesses she prefers her first name. Tyler's never believed in love at first sight, but that changes when he meets her. By the end of the day, he has gotten the truth out of her about why she really hired him; she has a stalker, whose behaviour is escalating. He's also managed to break every rule of the job and has sex with her in her office, crossing the line from client/bodyguard to so much more.
Calandra has never really gotten close to people because the one person she loved most - her mother - died when she was a child, and she's afraid that people are only drawn to her because of her lineage. She's afraid to let anyone into her heart again, in case she loses them, too. She's never been with a man before, and Tyler is an attractive hurricane of a man who bursts into her life and claims her as his. He takes her to have dinner with his family, and meeting his mother and four brothers is both charming and hilarious. There's also the usual appearances of other favourite heroes - Collins, Talon, Dane, Jared, and my Viking, Neil.
The whole book, apart from the epilogue, takes place over a forty-eight hour period so if you're not a fan of a hero and heroine who fall in love at first sight, this may not be the book for you. But this author is one of my absolute favourites and I always enjoy her stories, and this one is no exception.

★★★★★ Stars for Reckless the third installment in the Alpha Bodyguard series by Sybil Bartel
Damien Tyler was nothing what I was expecting. When we were first introduced to Tyler in Scandalous, I was immediately intrigued and wanted to know more about the infamous pro "rower" (or thruster, I mean either way works because he was both in this novel) - LOL.
Princess Calandra Sophia Paradis Spiros, the princess of the Island Nation of Naximos. I really didn't like her at first, which is uncharted territory for me especially in Sybil Bartel's novels. I understand that she needed protection, much like all of the other female protagonists do in the Bodyguard series, but something about her just made me dislike her so much at first, especially when she was being short and curt with both Andre Luna and Tyler. After awhile though - thank goodness - she starts to warm up to Tyler and his friends showing up the real Calandra.
Other than first impressions, I really loved this story. I think this is my second favorite Bodyguard installment, and that's saying a lot because I really really loved Tank in Scandalous .If you haven't read that novel, I highly recommend checking that one out - or any of Sybil's novels in fact!
Again, I can't give too much away because if I did, it would be pretty pointless for anyone to read the novel. All I can say is this steamy, quick-paced read will get you in your feelings and have you craving more at the end. I mean, meeting Tyler's brothers literally had my estrogen levels at an all time high, I think I got way too excited to see if Sybil will be making novels about them as well.
Be warned: This IS a love-at-first-sight kind of book, and if that's not your thing well I'd still highly suggest trying this one out. Sybil does a wonderful job taking a cliche and making it all her own to where you're not feeling cringe-y and disgusted after the first two chapters. She is one of the best - if not THE best author that I have ever read (I mean, c'mon, who doesn't love a big ol' bag of testosterone at their fingertips?)
characters that aren't just thinking with their genitals, and she knows how to give them dimension and character without making it so boring you're yearning for the sex scenes.
Overall, this novel had an amazing plot, great characters and some heart-stopping and heart-palpitation inducing moments that you won't want to miss!

RECKLESS (Alpha Bodyguard #3)
I just finished "Reckless" - again in the same length of time as the first two: overnight! 😊 I don't mind! Probably because Sybil Bartel knows how much I absolutely LOVE the "big, strong, extremely hot & sexy" alphas of her stories! 😉
I found the plot rather sweet. Damian Tyler, as the Alpha bodyguard, doesn't seem as hardwired as his ex-marine 'brothers', and Princess Calandra puts forth an attitude and stance only fitting of royalty, (her father is king of an largely unknown Greek island in the Aegean Sea).
Damian has been hired by Andre Luna's security firm to protect Calandra from a mail-threatening stalker. Neither Luna nor Tyler believe her "story", and are not interested in becoming involved. Eventually, Tyler is convinced there's more than meets the eye: mainly Calandra. He decides to take on the job and is asked to be Calandra's 'escort' to her high end art gallery exhibit.
I could already tell that there would be chemistry between them! Hot, steamy, sexy chemistry! Tyler keeps working patiently to bring down Calandra's walls; as well as bringing in extra help in the form of his team brothers, Talerco & Sawyer. I love to see other Alpha 'hotties' introduced in these stories - it helps to understand their military brotherhood, and gives me a sneak peak into their characters before I've read their own stories!
Suspense, intrigue and excitement are abundant in the ensuing days -- security concerns, stalker tactics and the growing attraction between Tyler and Calandra kept me turning page after page! I figured I knew who the threat was....nope! I was W-R-O-N-G!!
My favourite part was the interaction between Damian, his 'real' brothers and his mother. When he brings Calandra home for dinner and introduces her as a princess - I LOVE his Mom's reaction....well....read it yourself. I found it both hilarious and memorable; I had 4 brothers growing up, too!
Of course, Tyler and Calandra will be together after the stalker is caught and all danger is over. Read this for yourself! You'll love it - or not. It depends on your point of view. I love ALL of Sybil's books, (5, so far), and she always, always gives me my Alpha "fix"! I don't read other reviews, however, I did this time. I was very disappointed in many of the reviews and how much "Reckless" was dismissed!
I always keep an open mind when I read these stories and as I said, this one had a very sweet feeling to it...but lots of the sexy scenes that I love. Guess I'm just a "softee" - and a lover of hot Alphas!

This is the third book of the Alpha Bodyguard series and I am continuing to love this series so far. Each book can be read as a standalone, but the men are mentioned in the other books before they get their own story. We met Damien Tyler briefly in book one and I love that he got his own story. This is another alpha male/insta love story and I loved it.
We meet Princess Calandra when she is needing protection from a stalker and sought out Andre Luna's security team to help her. She has been in America for years and has made a good life for herself, but recently she started to receive threatening letters and they are getting a bit closer to home. She comes up with a plan to hire a very specific bodyguard to accompany her to a few parties, she just declines to mention to him and his boss why she needs protection in the first place.
Damien Tyler is an ex-Marine. He grew up in a house full of brothers and the crazy was never at a minimum. He is the best looking out of them all, but recently his good looks have gotten him in some hot water with his job. When his boss calls him to let him know he was personally requested for a job, he can't help but be curious since he is supposed to be laying low. He never expected a Princess to ask for him by name and when he finds out why she needs him, he is all in.
These two are amazing together. This author can write some steamy sexy time and she doesn't fail us in this story. Calandra never wanted to find someone to love due to her past. She was happy to settle for her life in America and live for her work. Damien is all alpha male and shows her just how wonderful love can be. She shows him that he has the capacity to love and be with one woman who makes him whole. He treats her with such care and at the same time shows her that she can let go.
I really enjoyed their journey even though it was very fast paced and not exactly reality. Their insta love was pretty unrealistic, but this is why we read these books. We love a good storyline with mystery, intrigue, intensity, sexy time and of course a happily ever after! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sybil Bartel never ceases to amaze me. RECKLESS, Tyler's story, definitely had a different feel. Did the story still center around an alpha male hero? Check. Did it still have Bartel's signature scorching chemistry and sexy times? Check. Did the story feature her special brand of brotherhood with a mix of previous ex-military alpha heroes that will go to any lengths to watch each others six? Check.
I think the difference with Tyler's story is exactly what Bartel states in her Acknowledgement letter. She said Tyler is the "nicest" out of the alphas she has written and I felt it while reading. Not only is he the nicest, but he is just a perfect match for the heroine, especially when you start to figure out that she is way more "innocent" than expected. Even though their relationship was technically a whirlwind, insta love romance, Bartel just has this special ability to make their story feel like Tyler took his time with his princess. The art gallery office scene??? *Fans self* Ladies...be prepared. Because I sure wasn't. I don't know how Bartel can write something so dirty yet so sweet at the same time. It is an art.
Tyler might be nice and less standoffish and not as dark as some of Bartel's previous heroes, but that doesn't mean he is any less of an alpha, especially when he goes into protective mode over his princess. I just felt like this was a nice, different pace that totally makes sense for Tyler's story. Still had tons of suspense but it feels a little like the calm before the storm. Maybe something explosive will happen in Sawyer's story which is coming up next in RUTHLESS. Either way, Tyler was an absolutely loveable alpha hero and I loved his princess. I really felt for her. Can't wait for Sawyer's story and I would be remiss if I didn't mention I have been drooling for Candle's story in HARD LIMITS. Bring on the new year please!!!!

Reckless by Sybil Bartel racks up another 5 star read from me! That's 3 in a row for her Alpha Bodyguard series. But since I have been waiting FOREVER for Tyler's story & had really high hopes, that is saying a lot. She definitely gave me even more than I hoped for making this my favorite in the series so far. I mean royalty?! Yes please! I did not see that coming but since Tyler has always been so sweet & obviously just a really good down to his bones guy he deserves his Princess. We all know Sybil's men treat all their women like they are one already. So it was time for an honest to god Princess to come along & show one of these guys how love at first sight really works. This whole story was so well thought out & really kept my attention from page one. I could not put it down. The action, suspense & all the twists & turns were amazing. But what really had me was the chemistry between these two. It was instant & intense but not over the top. You really believed that two normal people out there in the world could feel the way these two feel for each other. They both have their doubts but they can't resist each other. The intimate scenes were so powerful I could barely breathe though a couple of them. The book on a whole was just amazing & I couldn't be more thrilled that this character we have all loved for so long finally has his HEA & she's a good one! Thank you Sybil for treating our Damien with all the love he deserves!

One little video posted on the internet has turned Damien Tyler's life upside down, and at times made it tough to carry out the duties of his job. But, it is also the very same video that has brought Calandra, his gorgeous new client, into his life, and for once he thinks that video might just be a blessing in disguise. She is downright sinful delicious, and he wants a little taste!
Calandra is hiring him to accompany her to a few upcoming social events she is attending, and while the job sounds easy enough, Tyler know's the Princess is holding back some of the finer details. Something isn't setting right with him about the job, so he pressures her to fess up about why she really needs him by her side. When she begins to clue him in on his expected duties, he soon realizes he may just have gotten himself into a real mess! Or maybe a perfect little arrangement!
Reckless was everything I thought it would be, and so much more, it came with Ms. Bartel's trademark sexiness and high octane action, but every now and then there were tender moments too, which were unexpected, but greatly appreciated. Damien Tyler isn't your typical alpha, don't get me wrong he can be bossy as all get out, but there is a genuine good-natured side to him that really shines through and hits you right in the heart. I loved his story so much, him and his damsel in distress brought action, heat, and drama to the pages and kept me completely enthralled from start to finish! This is my first read in the Alpha Bodyguard series, and I have to say I couldn't have started with a better man. Now of course after meeting his counterparts I must get my hands on their stories, and get up close and personal with each of them too! Highly recommend this one, it's a can't miss story loaded with heart and heat... lots and lots of heat!!

Oh no. First and only one so far I didn’t absolutely love from Sybil Bartel, but I knew it had to happened one time. Turns out, this book is that one time.
I didn’t really like the hero or the heroine, and I felt the story was repetitive and predictable. The fact that no one seemed to get who the stalker was, even though it was so obvious, just made them seem all that more stupid. The one saving the day was a hero from another book in this series. A guy who knew nothing about the girl, her background or her current life, and still took one look at the stalker and knew he was the creep. As did I.
Still, I’m starting my next book by this author right away, cause I see this as a “bad day” kind of book. Especially since all her “other days” are so f good.
Plot:
The girl, Calandra (I had to pretend it was Casandra, because the name was just too weird) hire security for a big event to help her guard her jewelry. Her security guy is Tyler. I didn’t really like the hero or the heroine, and I felt the story was repetitive and predictable. The fact that no one seemed to get who the stalker was, even though it was so obvious, just made them seem all that more stupid. The one saving the day was a hero from another book in this series. A guy who knew nothing about the girl, her background or her current life, and still took one look at the stalker and knew he was the creep. As did I.
Still, I’m starting my next book by this author right away, cause I see this as a “bad day” kind of book. Especially since all her “other days” are so f good.
Plot:

Calandra seeks out help from the security firm where Tyler works, wanting him in particular but something is off he knows she is lying about her reasons why she requires help in the first place.
Tyler’s another great addition to Sybil’s bunch of alpha-males, all books in the series can be read as a stand-alone as Sybil does a wonderful job of being able to not spoil any previous book yet bring back previous heroes without causing any confusion.

Lust, love, or indifferent at first sight
I received Reckless as an ARC, which after I finished reading I purchased the ebook and read it again... that's how much I loved the Damian Tyler and Princess Calandra.
Damian didn't want anything serious due to his work schedule, and he wanted to forget about the YouTube video he was on... He worked hard and played hard no strings. Then he gets a call about a potential job/client and finds out he was chosen specifically... but who and why? And he feels zapped when he walks into the room, like there's a glow around the client...
Calandra didn't want to be in love with someone who could break her heart . She needed someone to be her bodyguard, escort, and protector, she was very quiet as to why, because there were consequences.... After she saw this video online with what she thought was a good man, she went to the security firm and asked for the man in the video.
They're story was well written
The characters and sub characters meshed well
There was so many emotions worry, happiness, sadness, lust, love and mystery.
Overall a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read

This is such an amazing story of love at first site. He can’t take his eyes off her and she knew he was the one from the moment she saw the video. Have you read Scandalous? These are stand-alone books so you don’t have to, but you’re gonna want to. Sybil does an amazing job at recapping just enough information from previous books that you won’t feel like you’re missing something. At that same time enough information that you’re going to be hooked.
Tyler and Calandra’s story will take you on a wonderful, hot, fasted paced, romance. They can’t stop touching each other. You feel every emotion coming from the two of them. And it’s hot. Tyler makes Calandra feel things she’s never even imagined before. Because of her past she felt it best that she never fall in love. She’s guarded herself very well, but Tyler crashes through her walls. Literally. She’s his and he won’t let anyone hurt her.
If you haven’t read any of Sybil’s books, you’re missing out. I recently found her and in the past 2 months have read every single one. Her alpha males are so hot. And the women are strong and just as amazing. Thank you Sybil for another amazing couple.

Meh. I like Bartel's writing, and she can do steam well, but the story was just kind of....lazy.
One of the things that really drives me crazy in a romance is when a character keeps a secret for no reason and time is wasted and stupidity ensues while they convince themselves why their totally ridiculous decision makes sense. And that's pretty much the whole first half of this book.
Why does Sophia not come clean to her hired bodyguard about what's actually going on? Why does she think it's not actually a big deal?
Eventually she comes clean and realizes that the situation is actually pretty bad...but so much time is wasted and it makes the heroine look so silly!
I did start to like the story after it moved past that, even though it was a bit more insta-love than I normally like. But the ending just wraps up so quick and easy that all the build up is kind of wasted.
So, it was an OK read. Kind of exciting, kind of steamy, but kind of frustrating.

Reckless is an action packed romance from beginning to end. There’s never a dull moment so I can promise you will not be bored for one minute while reading this book. If your a fan of love at first sight, fast paced whirlwind romances this is for you. With a princess in distress an alpha hero a mysterious villain and sexual tension it’s a perfect modern day fairy tale for adults.
There are a few things that might take away from the HEA for some readers number one being insta-love. I’m not apposed to love at first site but when the entire book takes place in less than 2 days and there’s talk of forever I usually have a hard time believing in the “Ever After” part of the happy ending. And I do wish there was a little more to go on but for the short time Calandra and Tyler are together you can see they’re a perfect pair for each other.
I devoured this story. It’s a really quick read and left me wanting to go read the others in this series immediately. Sybil Bartel knows how to write a page turner for the action loving readers like myself.
