This is one I could easily own and come back to again and again, but only if I could find it cheap. It has lots of cracker recipes in the back that I have never seen before, but most of the cookies are just variations on standards with a few major stand outs. Easy to follow and easy to find sections.
This book is like the worst cookie book I could have ever imagined getting. It SUCKS. Every recipe is just SO BAD. it makes those AI generated recipes look like Michelin star desserts.
I don't use this book so much any more... When my kids were home each Christmas (especially) this one came out and got used. I no longer have some of the tools (my cooling wrack and "dough shooter" got left behind when I moved)....but who knows, I may have cause to bake cookies again. These are good and the recipes work.
This is the cookie cookbook I would take to a dessert island if I had to choose one, altho the King Arthur and this would be better, because this doesn't cover basic cookies nearly as well--but the pay day bars (the peanut bars) are absolutely unbelievable--the cookies on the cover are delicious, especially if you cook the cookie a little bit longer
Pistachio shortbread. Chocolate peanut butter pinwheels. Fig pillows, Brooklyn heights brownies, lemon poppyseed hearts, and whoopie pies. I practically have these recipes memorized. My family at home should send thank-you letters to Tish Boyle.
It's not the thickest cookie cook book I own but it's the one I use the most. Every recipe has been spot-on and delicious. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. There's a wide variety of types of cookies and flavors found in the book, too.
