Newly-single attorney Gwen Cooper’s list of things that make her happy is pretty simple:
1. her teenage sons
2. her stilettos
3. finally taking control of her own life

While texting the first on the list to warn them she’s missed her flight home, she plows into a hot-shot movie star, has a lukewarm latte dumped down her blouse, and snaps a heel off item number two. When the actor shows up at the hotel bearing an apology of replacement Louboutins, she should be wondering how he got her room number. Instead, she’s simmering over his well-tailored suit and conjuring more sinful ways for him to make things up to her. And why not? The notorious bachelor is the perfect guy to kick off her post-divorce fantasies of no strings attached. Ever again.

Blake Donovan claimed Hollywood’s top spot by playing the self-centered bad boy his manager and publicist created. Lonely as it is, he’s long since accepted the image he portrays to the world. Until the gorgeous lawyer pegs the man behind the façade in minutes flat. After the hottest one night stand in history, he tracks her down in hopes of a repeat performance. And the encore has him craving far more than being tied up in her strings.

Blake will have to step into the role of a lifetime—himself—in order to convince Gwen that taking a chance on him won’t mean giving up on number three.

Whew! Better get your fan ready, because this is some kinda HOT story. There are plenty of racy scenes to titillate, but it's also a pretty darned good story with interesting characters and a few laugh-out-loud parts. The writing is top-notch, too.

The only thing that disappointed this reader a teensy bit was the ending... because it wasn't an actual ending. The book was finished, but the story wasn't entirely resolved. Still? All-in-all, an enjoyable read.

Last Call was a quick and fun read. It was refreshing to see "mature" characters represented, which doesn't happen enough. Gwen is a successful woman, and mother of two teenage sons. Her dedication to them and her role as a mother was ever present. Blake is a movie star desperate to get out from under his 'playboy' media status and find something more concrete in life.

A lot worked for me. It was sex positive, fairly straight forward, and like I already said had characters on the other side of life. Us older folks still are capable of new love and hot sex.

I had a tiny issue with the consistency of Gwen's character though. She'd go from being all self-conscious and second guessing what Blake saw in her, to pseudo Domme seemingly knowing a good bit of the ins and outs of role play. The two halves didn't quite mesh for me.

Regardless, it's a hot read with lots of foreplay (I LOVE that) and a sweet HFN ending.

I could not find this on GR. Confused. Is it Matson or Watson? Anyways, I loved the story. Single mom to teenagers.

I never really read romance, but something about this novel drew me in. I read it in about a day. Such a fun, quick read, with great characters and pacing. The ending was great, but a bit abrupt.
