Made for W.A.R : 52 Weeks of Wisdom and Revelation
Made for W.A.R. is a weekly devotional/Bible study the Lord had me write during a time of great trial and learning to trust and rely totally upon Him.
The acronym W.A.R. – Wisdom and Revelation – came from a tape I heard of Dutch Sheets at a conference in New York City. The Holy Spirit told me that according to His word in 2 Timothy 2:1-4 we have all been made soldiers in the army of God. We are to endure hardships (trials and tribulations) and not to entangle ourselves with the affairs of this world. God has chosen us to be His soldiers.
Soldiers are made for W.A.R. That is their reason for being. As we seek more and more of God’s Wisdom and Revelation for our lives our enemy becomes more and more threatened. The more we know about who we are, whose we are and what we are here to do the more damage we can do to him and his kingdom and the more equipped we become to advance the Kingdom of God.
In Hebrews 4:12 it says, “For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” God’s Word is compared to a two-edged sword i.e. double the striking surface. It is a very deadly weapon in the right hands. Wisdom and Revelation are the two edges of the “sword of the spirit, which is the word of God” mentioned in Ephesians 6:17. It’s all we need to tear down strongholds, cast out demons, set captives free and do all that Jesus promised us and more.
My hope is that when you have finished with this devotional you will know who you are, Whose you are and that you will be more equipped to take on whatever task the Lord has for you. May you receive the fullness of His Wisdom and Revelation in your preparations for W.A.R.

I’ve been reading and writing since I can remember. I wrote, or should I say drew, my first story when I was 10. I would create these sci-fi stories in my head and then would draw them out on paper. God only knows how much loose-leaf, graph and construction paper I went through. My teachers all thought I was lazy and a dreamer – they were half right. I actually wrote my first story when my 10th grade English teacher, Mr. Grossman, had us read Animal farm and then asked us to write a short story continuation of it. I think it was only a thousand words or so but I still remember that it really sparked writing in me.
I have always loved to read science fiction stories. When I was a kid, my favorites were stories about space travel, exploration, and colonization. Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune, Rendezvous with Rama were just a few of the books I was able to get my hands on in the school library. I was also a huge fan of superhero comics and Omni and Popular Science.
I yearned to explore the universe. I would crawl out of my bedroom window onto the tin roof of the ole-kitchen (not an easy task and somewhat dangerous) or go out and lay on the chicken coop roof at night and look up at the stars, and desperately want to visit and explore each of them.
We don’t have starships yet. However, in reading these stories, and now in writing them, I’ve got the chance to explore such strange new worlds that even Captain Picard and the all powerful “Q” couldn’t possibly imagine.
I have written several books already. Two devotionals - I’m Born Again, Now What? A New Believer’s Guide to Walking with Christ and W.A.R. Devotional and Study Guide, and a cookbook - Southern Yankee Cooking: Southern Home Cooking That’s A Little Bit Yankee.
Now, I’m returning to the childhood dreamer that I abandoned so long ago. To Ranger One and the Odyssey of Buck Rogers, The Palomino and Cygnus of The Black Hole and The United Planets Cruiser C-57D from Forbidden Planet. To Arrakis and Shai-Hulud, The Jupiter II and the Robinsons, and the infinite dreams of my childhood and beyond!
I have several story ideas running through my head and can’t wait to share them with you. I’ve also begun writing a sci-fi adventure of exploration and colonization called The Legacy Series. The first book, Destiny, is not quite finished but close.
