Maci and Ethan’s journey was filled with lots of highs and lows. The Invisible Thread is the conclusion to their emotional story and should only be read after reading book 1, The Power to Break.

I loved being back in the world of VAIL, but sadly, this one was a miss for me. I appear to be in the minority though, so perhaps I just wasn’t in the mood for the heavy angst and drama. The writing was stellar and Lisa Suzanne really immerses the reader in the rock star world. I also loved the behind the scenes details of being on tour, but I found that I just couldn’t get fully invested in Maci and Ethan’s story. I still wanted to know what happened to them though and if they truly were holding each other's string.

As much as I wanted to like this one, I think I my inability to relate to Maci and Ethan really held me back. For the majority of both books, Maci and Ethan are immature, stubborn, and destructive. They quickly jump to conclusions, assume the worst, and lash out and hurt the other repeatedly. There was so much angst and back and forth that by the time these two figured things out, it was too little too late for me. I was happy to see that there was some character growth for both of them between books though and that they didn’t allow the mistakes of the past to continue to derail them. The epilogue brought their story full circle and I hope this isn’t the last we see of the VAIL family! I would especially be interested to see something more about Griff and his new lady love ;)

"You can't stop destiny."

The Invisible Thread is book two in The Unbreakable Thread Series. And to me a great conclusion to Ethan and Maci's story. I enjoyed every page of their journey, on the road to finding the person who's holding the thread.

"She is home. She's the piece I didn't even know was missing."

With the turns of events at the end of The Power To Break the road turned a lot more rockier for Maci and Ethan. Obstacles like lies, trust issues, holding on grudges and things that happened in the past threaten the road to break open. Also hearing the truth hurts, and has the power to break you. But once it is out, you can work with it, find a way to heal.

"Because after all, the ones who we love the most wield the strongest power to hurt us."

Mace becomes more and more the girl she tried so hard to leave behind. Her tough shell breaks and even though she comes out a stronger woman, able to fight for what she wants and believes is right, she accepts somehow, she's still Dani, too.

"She somehow bought and paid for every black shard of my heart that I never knew was for sale."

Through Maci, Ethan starts to turn into the man he never thought he wanted to be. His love for Maci makes him want to be a better man, to grow up, to man up. He starts to process feelings he never knew and has no idea to deal with them.

"I'll still love her even if she doesn't love me back. I'll love her even if she never wants anything to do with me ever again. I'll love her until my last breath."

The Invisible Thread is a nice page-turner, easy to read and enjoy. But compared to the first book, something was missing. I can't really pinpoint it. Maybe it's just a feeling. However, this book deserves fully 4 stars.

"We have a lot to work out and a lot to get past. It won't be easy, but the road to finding the person holding your thread never is. I think this is merely the first chapter of our story, Mace."

I loved the "invisible thread" premise. I think the idea pulled these stubborn fools along in the story of their lives. Wow, how could both main characters be so grungy? It got tiresome and wasteful of time....such a HEA, all forgiven.

The Power to Break, the first book in Lisa Suzanne’s The Unbreakable Thread duet, instantly won me over. I adored it, finding myself desperate for book two and more of the things I’d come to love. With the book containing some of my favourite romance elements – a rock star romance and a revenge story – it goes without saying I was more than willing to dive into The Invisible Thread.

Without a doubt, The Invisible Thread was a wonderful conclusion to the duet. Everything came together so well, and I loved the way the different aspects evolved. The rock star storyline continues to be highly entertaining, the revenge storyline continues to bring emotions to the fore, and the secrets and drama throughout added plenty to keep you on the edge of your seat. If you enjoyed the first book in the duet, you need to read this second book to see how everything came together – it’s such a fun read, and you will not be disappointed by the way things play out.

Sure, there were a few points where things seemed to drag a bit. However, you’re pulled in from the very first page with all the different elements of the storyline hooking you throughout. The angst, the drama, the chemistry, the emotion, and all the other goodness found throughout ensures you’re more than happy to keep turning the pages – in fact, you’re rather desperate to turn the pages and see how everything comes together. With things playing together so well, with each aspect of the story line being given the necessary attention, there is more than enough to love throughout the entirety of the book.

With how much I loved this duet, there is no doubt in my mind that I will now go and give the other Lisa Suzanne books a read. I need to know more about the other characters in this book, and I cannot wait to devour another mind blowing read.

Can people change?

I'll admit, I really thought Ethan was a gigantic, immature ass in Mark and Reese's Destiny trilogy. He seemed like such a petulant, babyish manho and liked to stir up trouble wherever he could find it, dragging others down to with him. I wanted to continue my binge of the world of Vail and that meant reading this duet that featured my 'un- favorite manchild, Ethan Fuller.

Nothing hurts worse than going back to those uncomfortable high school days when one person's hurtful words can color and effect how you think of yourself, especially someone you might have feelings for. This books takes you to the past, to the teen versions of Mark, Ethan (pre-Vail) and the beautiful, innocent girl that Ethan wants to know better but ends up pushing away with his cutting remarks.

Then, back in the present time, A girl scorned becomes a woman reborn, emerging from the ashes of her broken heart, changing everything she was, becoming stronger, harder and hell bent on revenge. The young rising star, Ethan, now world renown drummer of the wildly popular band Vail, has never stopped thinking of the girl who vanished from his life so unexpectedly all those years ago, but he'll soon be caught up in her web of deceit, but he'll never see see her coming!

Wow, what an awesome story! I flew through both books in this duet in one day, too hard to let their story rest. How could the annoying Ethan become someone I needed to discover and absorb every detail about? Why would I care if this guy finally finds the love he never thought he deserved to have?

It's a huge tribute to the writing of Lisa Suzanne to turn my feelings around so completely that a character that I disliked in one instance became someone I was cheering for in these 2 books. Ethan had a jaded rockstar past but he surprised me often, grew and became a better version of himself. Didn't expect that. He found that invisible thread, a theme throughout, had connected him to a certain someone for most of his life..he just didn't know it at the time.

There is nothing better than a HEA that is fought for so hard, overcoming difficult obstacles and emerging on the other side better, stronger and happier. I loved that ending, wrapped up with a beautiful bow. I hope there is more to Vail's story down the road, because I'm not quite ready to say goodbye just yet. More of these rockstars, Lisa, I can't get enough!

4 "It is what it is" Stars

The Invisible Thread is the conclusion to Maci and Ethan's story. And after the end of how The Power to Break ended, it had me itching to find out how Maci and Ethan's rocky story would end.

Maci and Ethan were two very stubborn people. Their back-and-forth banter gave me a headache. Instead of communicating with one another they always assumed and jumped to conclusions. Their relationship was toxic, and at times I thought to myself they were better off without each other. I just felt they weren't acting like their age and more like middle schoolers. And as for Maci, I know that what Ethan said all those years ago got to her, but again, COMMUNICATE! If she would've done that then a lot of misunderstandings would've gotten resolved.

I know it seems like I'm hating on Maci and Ethan, but honest, I liked them I just wish they wouldn't've been so childish. I do think that what they went through did make them grow. They finally stopped acting destructive and realized what was right in front of them. They finally let all that anger and resentment go. And the dark cloud that surrounded them finally parted and let light in. And in the end I was happy how Maci and Ethan's story ended.

Now I'm reeeeeeeeally hoping Griffin gets his own book! *fingers crossed* it happens.

The Invisible Thread is the explosive conclusion to Ethan & Maci's story!

So we pretty much start off where we ended in book 1. Ethan and Maci are so tumultuous, fire, angsty and stubborn! There's so much intensity between them and when Ethan finds out what Maci has been hiding from him and why.....he doesn't take it so well. In fact, Ethan admits to holding grudges.

It was hard at times watching their insecurities, their fears and their doubts take over. You can tell they're right for each other if only they could just let everything else go and work on each other.
As much and as hard as they fight, they also are the only ones to help each other navigate their battles the battles that have been holding them back and plaguing them for years.

Lisa always has a way of getting her characters out of situations that seem hopeless. At the end of the day their bond is stronger than their feuds.

It's always a treat to enter the world of Vail. You're guaranteed a funny, hilarious, steamy and angsty good time! I hope there's more to come.

It amazes me how writers come up with personalities of their characters. Do they know someone like that or see it on tv?
With Maci, it just amazes me that someone can blame their whole life around one comment some boy made. It's just crazy. I feel bad for her that she cared that much and didn't feel like she had any other choice.

I skimmed a lot of this book because they continued to go back and forth with how they felt and what they wanted.

I liked Ethan a little more in this book than the first. While he continued to go back and forth, I felt like he grew a little more.

I just didn't like Maci and I'm okay with that. Every human can't like everyone. She was whiny, immature for her age and just someone I wouldn't want to be around.

I was still sucked into this book because I wanted to know what happened. I mean there were two surprises at the end of book one so of course I needed to see how it all played out!

I do LOVE the title of this book and the story around it!

Can I just start by saying that I loved getting to see Vail from a different perspective. I liked seeing Mark and Reese as secondary characters and getting background on Ethan, the band's drummer. I think that Lisa does such an exceptional job at getting all the details correct. It's obvious that she did her research which made the reader feel like they really had a backstage pass.

I wish I felt more of a connection with Ethan and Maci. The small issue I had with book 1, became a bigger issue in book 2. They're on again, they're off again. They both assume things, react, and then later find out what the truth is. The biggest problem for me, was the whole reason that Maci started a band in the first place. The plot felt flat in parts because it seemed very immature. It needed more substance.

I seem to be in the minority with this one. I will say that I look forward to whatever Lisa is writing next. Sometimes, not every reader with connect with every book.

Once again, Lisa Suzanne penned a phenomenal tale full of angst, revenge, love, forgiveness and second chances. The Invisible Thread is a wonderful and entertaining conclusion to Ethan & Maci’s story, which began in The Power To Break. These two will need to be read in order to fully understand their journey.

Twenty years ago, Ethan broke her heart with a few simple words and Maci has never been able to get past that. Instead, she has been focused on one day getting her revenge, and what better chance to do that than by being on this tour with him. Her tough shell slowly begins to break though as she begins to spend more and more time with him. She suddenly finds herself wanting to forgive him rather than hurt him and this means she must come clean about everything. How will Ethan take the news of who she really is and what her plans were? Will he be able to forgive her? Will they finally get their happily ever after?

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all about the world that is Vail. I love these boys immensely and am saddened to have to say goodbye, but I am super excited to see what Lisa has in store for us next.

The Invisible Thread was worth the wait! I had been living in a state of suspended reality while waiting for it to release and oh my gosh, it was amazing! I wasn't the biggest fan of Maci in the first book, but she was redeemed in my eyes!! I actually understood her better in this book than the first and I felt that I could relate to her more.

The drama and angst was off the freaking charts in The Invisible Thread, so many ups and downs and heartbreaks and omg! Ahh. The story was so intense. Just so FREAKING INTENSE! My heart broke for both Maci and Ethan, they both had so many things to work through for them to get where they ended up. They had issues between the two of them and issues on the outside working against them as well.
The fact that they can both hold onto grudges didn't help matters either.

"This girl has brought me straight to my knees, and there's nothing I can do to find a way to stand straight again."

The push and pull between these two is unlike anything I have ever seen before, it almost seems like they spend more time hating each other than loving each other, but we all know that there is a fine line between love and hate. The opposite of love is indifference and that was the farthest these two felt for each other.

I loved getting Reese and Mark in this story and the matchmaker roles that held and how they pulled the strings to help get these two back on track. Not only that, but I love having characters from previous books pop up and play a crucial role in the current read, just makes me smile so hard.

Though this book really made frustrated and made me feel ill a time or two the wringer I was put through was worth in the end and my heart ultimately sang a happy song when it was all over.

This book is exactly the reason I’m a fan of this author. The Invisible Thread starts out right where The Broken Thread left off with dreams being crushed, hearts broken and the revenge plan on again/off again along with one huge surprise in itself. Ethan is definitely the bad boy rock star in every way possible and Maci is a talented rocker herself who is the opening act on tour for Vail. Revenge is what brought Maci and Ethan back together again after years apart but you know what they say about best laid plans?!

This book and series is one that will have you up all night reading because you can’t put it down. Things are constantly changing between Maci and Ethan which makes the rollercoaster ride thrilling to say the least. Like Maci, Ethan will have you wanting to tear your clothes off one second and have you wanting to put your foot up his a*s the next. For any rock romance fan this is definitely a series you don’t want to miss.

I received this book as an ARC for a freely given and honest review.

There is definitely an invisible thread between Maci and Ethan that keeps them connected and pulls them back to each other. This is the continuation of Maci and Ethan's story and The Power to Break must be read first.

It picks up where The Power to Break left off, after the revelations of the past and the present. These events send Ethan into default mode.

This was angsty and kept me on edge as these two tried to reconcile their emotions and their wants. It was busy and chaotic like their lives and it brought plenty of feels with it. These were complex characters with complex emotions. Whilst I didn't like everything about these two characters, the good certainly outweighed the bad. A really good read.

Lisa Suzanne completely blew my mind with this conclusion to Ethan and Maci's story. Boy, you all know I live for angst, right? Well this book had it in full. I felt everything, every single emotion these two felt. And it honestly blew me away.
I had been so anxious to read this book and see how it would all play out and how these two would end up together and oh boy what a roller coaster.

Maci kept on questioning Ethan's actions, thinking he was still fucking every girl that came his way but I'm glad that in the midst of all the emotions she was going through and still working through her resentment towards him, that her love for him and their child won and she finally decided to tell him she was pregnant. Ethan was shocked and his reaction wasn't the best and obviously Maci took it to heart but she always does when it comes to him. After pondering about it and talking it out with Mark, Ethan was in a better mind set and he made things right with Maci. They were finally gonna work things out and be together for real.

But then an accident happened and Maci faced with the idea of losing the love of her life, knew that it was time she told him the whole truth so they could move forward and be a real family with no secrets. To say the truth was a blow to the heart was an understatement. Boy did it hurt to see Ethan learn the truth about Maci and how it impacted him. Ethan had been so happy to finally be good with Maci and now learning she was Dani and had been hiding something so big and so monumental, made him feel like everything was a lie, a betrayal. And although at first he had a reason to be hurt and in shock, he should have gotten over it sooner. She told him the truth, they were having a baby and they loved each other.

Only another scare woke him up from his hurt, and boy I was scared for them but I couldn't help but be happy it happened just so Ethan realized what they all were missing on.
Even though he took a while to get out of his head, he did and oh boy when they finally were together for real, it was beautiful. Ethan was really sweet when he wanted to be and those songs he wrote about her, oh my heart. I swooned so hard. When both of them finally let of all the hurt and resentment over their past, they were perfect together and it was beautiful to read about.

I'm super sad that I won't have anything else to read of my Vail boys, really sad. These guys completely stole my heart in so little time and I wish I had more of them. I love them so much and I'm just so happy they both found the one holding the other side of their thread.
It's completely bittersweet. I am both so happy that Ethan and his sweet girl finally found their way to each other but I'm super sad it's over too. Do you feel me? I really wanted more of all this gang. I'm not ready to say goodbye.

On another note, I'm over the moon about finding Lisa's books. I completely feel in love with her writing when I read The Power to Break and it only cemented when I read all the other Vail books. So I'm super excited for whatever she has in store next, and I know she already has a book in the works, I can't wait to read it.

I have to thank Lisa Suzanne for giving us a backstage pass into the life of Vail. The Invisible Thread was everything I wanted in a book and more.

The Invisible Thread is the conclusion to The Unbreakable Thread duet and continues the story of Ethan and Maci. These two are so push and pull, so hot and cold but when they do come together, your Kindle will heat up with the chemistry between them.

Maci describes Ethan perfectly. "You were corrupt and experienced and everything I wanted but nothing I could have." On the flip side Ethan sees Maci as " She somehow bought and paid for every black shard of my heart that I never even knew was for sale."

I absolutely loved these two and with each of them carrying baggage from their past, the reader knows that you are in for one hell of a bumpy ride.

What's also great about this duet, is that Mark and Reese from A Little Like Destiny series is front and present throughout. If you are a Vail Tail Fangirl already, be prepared to swoon over both Mark and Ethan.

Lisa Suzanne is such the queen of rockstar romance that I swear in another life she must have been the ultimate groupie. She pulls you into the rock and roll world so effortlessly, that I actually started wondering if she is Reese in the story and she is writing from her own experience and has her own rock star at home!!

Thank you Lisa for rocking my literary world! I give you 5 flaming drum kits🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁!!

This book takes up where the first book, "The Unbreakable Thread" left off.
Maci has been keeping secrets, Ethan kind of knows this, Now it's time to come clean, but can these two stubborn, grudge holding, people really survive when it all hits the fan?
If you love the angst and drama, you get it in bucket loads with both Maci & Ethan. I both loved and was frustrated with them in the first book, and equally so in this conclusion. Yet again this author kept me rivited, If anything i think i was drawn more towards Ethan this time around. Even though he's still a bit of an asshole, his inner heart was showing his vulnerabilites, and with Maci it was good to see that there were other issues that she also had to resolve, and not just a childish comment that Ethan had made that resulted in her overboard wish for revenge. I loved the relationships within this band, and I loved this story, it was love at its worst and its best !!!

I really loved this second half of Maci and Ethan's love story.
I have to admit for awhile there Ethan goes off the rails, this reader was scared for that future.
Maci puts herself out there again. Her character is always so strong and now she just wants him to be her rock. It's not an easy road they are traveling on and they have to make decisions while hardly speaking.
It's not the storyline everyone is expecting though, that's what makes this stand out. Some times things happen for a reason. The title of this novel says it all.

I love Ethan and Maci! I was so excited to read this book! The ending of "The Power to Break" had me dying to see what they were going to do in this one. Split into two parts we get to see the past before jumping right back into the present. I really liked getting more details into Maci and Ethan's past. It really helps us see more into them as characters and why they react the way they do. The very beginning of part two seemed a little repetitive but other than that I really liked it. Maci and Ethan go from wanting to try and make it work to wanting to quit. They battle themselves and each other only to come out stronger in the end. Maci and Ethan have a love story that isn't easy. They both have to overcome a lot and it's hard for them to trust but with a baby on the way they can't just think about themselves anymore. I didn't want to stop reading it. It hooked me in and I had to know what was going to happen with them next. I really love Maci and Ethan and I'm so happy that we got to see them fall in love. I love both characters and I love them together even more. This book was really good! They have a lot of ups and downs but in the end it works out for the ultimate best! That epilogue was everything I wanted and more. I'm so happy for this couple and I'm so happy that I read this duet! I loved it! Lisa Suzanne is so amazing, I will read anything she writes!!

You're holding my thread. You'll pull me back."

P.S. The songs in this were absolutely perfect!! I wish I could here them in real life. I loved them so much!!
P.P.S. One of my Favorite parts was getting to finally see what Vail's pre show ritual was! I have been dying to know since "Only Ever You" (Mark and Reese's Story). It was so surprising and so perfect I loved it!!

Through the writing in this story I felt as if I was there. But, I wasn’t into this one. The drama was endless then they’d be happy and crap would start again. It was like middle school all over again. I don’t know. I’m just not a fan of these characters, I had to see their story through to the end but I’m super disappointed in all of it. I was honestly shaking my head through most of this book. Broken characters are one thing, these characters were just nonstop self destructive. 🤷‍♀️

This was a great duet. I really enjoyed Ethan and Maci' s story. I liked getting more of their backstory/history in this one . And just like in book one, the angst was up there as well as the chemistry, banter and sexual tension. At one point I was really scared at what was going to happen but it all worked out. I loved the lyrics! And the epilogue was great.

The Invisible Thread is the 2nd book in Lisa Suzanne’s 2 book The Unbreakable Thread Series. I honestly found the premise upon which this series was built upon ridiculous even for a contemporary romance book where fantasy is a given part of the story. The idea that Dani Maynes shy innocent, good girl high school sophomore now 32 year old kick ass multi-platinum record selling woman rocker Maci Daynes focused 17 years of her life plotting to get even with Ethan Fuller for a crude remark he made about her to his friend at a party that she overheard that hurt her when she was 15 is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is that she spends that 17 years working towards reinventing herself, becoming a female rock star who is just as much a bad girl as he is a bad boy so that she can attract and seduce him and break his heart like he broke hers when he was only a 17 year old high school senior. She becomes a smoking, drug using, hard drinking, use men for casual sex, (basically the female version of Ethan) all so he’ll be attracted to her. And it works! That was my biggest problem with this series. And thank God as stubborn as Ethan was he wasn’t as stubborn as Maci who not only spent 17 years plotting her revenge against Ethan but spent 15 of those years freezing her father out of her life for something he did the day they buried her mother. I mean this woman can really hold a grudge. My only problem with this book specifically (besides Ethan being an asshole for much of it) was the stretch of the book after Maci/Dani finally admits who she is or was to Ethan and tells him her whole story. The period between that point and when Ethan finally gets his head out of his ass seemed to stretch forever. And if I’m being completely honest in this series and in the previous one A Little Like Destiny, the song lyrics Mark, Ethan and Maci write to convey their feelings were poignant in telling their story but IMHO too personal to share with the public as a song and I really didn’t see how they’d work as actual lyrics to a song. Good thing Ms. Suzanne chose a career as a contemporary romance writer and not as a song writer.
The good parts of this book. Well there were some tender moments between Ethan and Maci when they weren’t screwing things up for themselves. I liked the relationship between Maci and Griff. I enjoyed seeing Mark and Reese in a continuation of their happily ever after. The three years later epilogue was a wonderful happily ever after. But for me it was too little too late to really save this book and series.

The Invisible Thread is the conclusion to Maci and Ethan’s story, so you will need to read book one, The Power to Break before reading this book as it is a duet (The Unbreakable Thread). At the end of book one we were hanging by that thread waiting to see what transpires and the beginning of this book picks up right where it left off, so you didn’t have to wrack your brain on memory to get back into the story.
Maci is still set on revenge, but feelings are twisting with if she can continue her charade. She knows she needs to let go of the lies and secrets and come clean with Ethan, but our grudge holder of VAIL may not be able to let go once he learns the truth and knows that his gut was somewhat on track for destruction. We all know that these two are vary hard headed and stubborn so it’s a good thing we have Mark and Reese as their support team.
Ethan is the typical bad boy rocker that we know he loves to live up to, but when his softer side comes out you want to hug and love him, but when his bad side comes out you want to shake him and call him an a$$ at times. His road was rocky there for a while, but he needs to either break the thread or thread up some more songs for collaboration.
It is what it is, and it is what it isn’t may have been Dani/Maci’s saying, but it was the thread that held these two tied together. It is what it is holds true when they finally stop skirting around and release the power that is holding them back for more. It is what it isn’t is their story in itself as the secrets and lies that lead to many mistakes that could have been deterred if only they spoke their mind right away and didn’t hold onto the past. Their collaboration of writing was one of the best ways for them to not only make songs together, but for them to release their feelings to each other whether good or bad.
VAIL’s success and relationships are expanding so I can only hope that this means we get to see more of the whole VAIL crew down the road. While two of the band members were paired together and don’t have books, there is some things that we want to know about them so hoping that we maybe get a novella on them and the struggles we saw. I really hope to see this band in the future. I loved the Epilogue and think the dual POV makes these stories that much better.
Penny for my thoughts….Griff your story better be next cause although you are not a VAIL band member you are the key to Maci and her schedule especially when touring with VAIL.

The Invisible Thread is book two in The Unbreakable Thread duet, and it is told in two parts. Part One is set in the past and Part Two takes place in present time.

I love Lisa Suzanne’s writing. I want to live inside her head for a day and party with the rock stars. The world, the people, and the atmosphere she creates, you can picture it perfectly and you want to be there. Also, her original song lyrics throughout the story are a great addition!

Now...I love Ethan, but sometimes I wanted to shake some sense into him. Maci was alright (didn’t love or hate her), but girl needed to let her teenage grudge go like a decade ago. There was a lot of back and forth between the hero and heroine in this story. For adults their age they often acted very immature, though I found that Ethan showed more character growth than Maci. The pair frustrated me- often- but still I hoped for them to make it work. They had great chemistry when they were on the same page and it was obvious that they cared deeply for each other, they just had to get their ish together, act like grown-ups, stop being so stubborn, and communicate! Their journey didn’t come without highs and lows, but I enjoyed how it pulled together in the end.

If you love romance served with a side of drama and angst, this one’s for you! I do hope there’s more to come from this group of rock stars. I wouldn’t hesitate to step back into the VAIL world.

I really liked the conclusion to Ethan and Maci's story. It pretty much started where the first book left off. Maci had a long revenge plan to execute on Ethan and nothing ends up the way she had planned. She fell for him - AGAIN. This half of the story was about coming clean, telling the truth, and finding out if they could move forward together after all the cards were laid out on the table. Ethan is stubborn, and slightly immature, and likes to handle his problems with booze, drugs, and women, and since he has Maci in his life, these options have had to change. I liked seeing how Ethan grew in this half of the story. Maci too for that matter. She started to realize that revenge seems like such a great plan when you are a teenager in high school, but as you grow up and change, those plans don't seem quite as important. I thought this was a fantastic conclusion to the story, and I really liked where they ended up. I am hoping for further stories about the other band members. We got part of it in the Destiny series, but I would like to read about the other two couples who are fringe characters in this story. I received an ARC for an honest review. If you haven't read the first book in the duet, you should definitely read first. You should also probably read the Destiny trilogy first as well.

First of all....Why do I decide to start a Lisa Suzanne book on a Sunday evening knowing I need to be up and early the next Monday with kids and work. Let me tell you all...this book needs to come with a warning label.....And I made one that matched what I went through....

WARNING: You may lose your heart in these characters. Emotionally you will be a wreck. You will love Ethan and Maci one second, then be cursing at them the next. Your family might think you have lost your mind. And when all the sexiness factor comes in, you may forget your name and say Mark who?? Shhh.... You need to keep that one to yourself because, well Mark is still HOT and Ethan is at a tie! If you decide to read this book on a late evening and have to be up early the next morning, be prepared to only get about a couple of hours of sleep. Coffee and I mean lots of coffee will be required the next day!

So in conclusion (lol) The Invisible Thread made my brain and heart turn into mush! I could not get over how book one ended and I am so glad I hung in there. I used a lot of tape to put myself back together. Now to serious business....Lisa knows how to bring life to her characters and make her readers feel so much. It might be too much for some, but it is what I look for when I choose a book to read. A one in a million this author has the magic with words. #VailFanForever

While book 1 was about discovering or perhaps rediscovering a love of long ago, book 2 addresses the catastrophic collision of truths and lies.

Ethan struggles are heartbreaking. Reading about his family struggles and seeing his heart shattered made for an emotional read. His self doubt and lack of self worth for what he feels he doesn't deserve had me rooting for his success in finding love and all that he deserves.
But when Ethan falls on past habits I just wanted to shake some sense into him.
Maci's internal struggle to continue on the path that she set in motion or to follow where her heart is leading had me ready to slap her more than once.
For both Maci and Ethan, past choices come back to haunt them but I really enjoyed watching them evolve both as individuals and as a couple.

One of my favorite quotes that holds true for not just this story, but life in general:
"Life's too short and maybe we all just need to fucking forgive and get over it."

Ethan doesn't quite top Mark Ashton but he comes in a close second for me.

Once again Lisa Suzanne has written a beautifully paced story of love and heartache with a HEA with unexpected twists and turns along the way that keeps you turning the pages as fast as you can to see how it will all play out.
