This was a pretty unique story for me but one I really enjoyed reading. I did think that the writing was a little stiff at times, especially with the dialogue between Easton and Daniel but the story itself made up for that. I'm super curious to see what else will come from this series and I can't wait to read more.

Easton and Daniel were so formal with each other at first, and for a couple who's been together for a year, it shouldn't be like that. Also it was their first Valentine's day together, so I blamed the awkwardness on jitters. But then as I got to know them better, I realized the distance between them can be blamed entirely on Easton's secret. This is the perfect example why secrets aren't worth keeping. Easton acted withdrawn, he didn't open up to his partner, which Daniel sensed and thought it might be his fault so he too held himself back. They weren't honest with each other, and that prompted them to act differently.

So that's why, when Easton's secret was unearthed, the dam broke, and they showed their true colors. Easton thought he was dating a vanilla guy, when in reality Daniel was anything but.

I enjoyed this a lot. The story ended around 80%, and the rest was the first chapter from Houston, which I also enjoyed and will check out later.

Di sicuro Eston ama l’intimo di pizzo ma non riesce a condividere questa passione con Daniel, con cui ha una relazione, ha paura di scioccarlo e perderlo, ma con questo ragazzo vuole costruire un futuro e per questo motivo prima o poi dovrà dirglielo.

Daniel ha intuito che Eston gli nasconde qualcosa, ma non sa come affrontare l’argomento.

Il tema è intrigante, non avevo mai associato il pizzo a un uomo, ma poi mi sono detta…perché no?

Una persona deve poter indossare quello che la fa stare bene.

L’autrice mi ha aperto una finestra su un mondo che non pensavo esistesse, ma che ho trovato stuzzicante.

È un racconto breve ma intenso e sexy, l’attrazione tra i due è palpabile, e probabilmente il fatto che non interagiscano con altri personaggi (la maggior parte del racconto si svolge infatti nell’arco di una serata) rende tutto più intenso.

Sono due uomini simili, ma anche diversi e questo fa in modo che si incontrino alla perfezione.

Entrambi i protagonisti sono caratterizzati bene ed è facile entrare in empatia con loro, Daniel è dolce ma forte e deciso, mentre Easton ha una sensibilità e timidezza che me lo ha fatto amare.

La scrittura è fluida e piacevole, e anche gli argomenti più particolari vengono trattati senza volgarità.

Adorabili i protagonisti Daniel ed Easton che si frequentano da alcuni mesi e iniziano a fare sul serio. In quattro capitoli due col pov di Daniel e due con quello di Easton l'autrice mette in mostra tutti i loro sentimenti, i dubbi e la capacità di metterli da parte per dare sfogo a tutte le passioni che li legano senza alcun timore. Leashes and Lace turns out to be the name of a website – one that has all kinds of interesting underwear for sale. What follows is a very cute reveal, some sweet lovemaking, and a relationship that is a lot more settled than it was before the unintentional “reveal”.

If you like stories with a touch of mystery, if two men who are into soft, lacy clothing are your thing, and if you’re looking for an entertaining read with a couple of surprises, then you will probably like this free short story.

Ho fatto un passo in un nuovo mondo, quello di Easton e Daniel, ed è stato come affondare i denti in una torta con triplo strato di cioccolata: un vero piacere. Semplice, intenso, stimolante, ha portato la mia curiosità ai massimi livelli e ora non vedo l’ora di dare altri morsi, di poter gustare a pieno questa piccola meraviglia che mostra tutte le premesse per diventare una nuova dipendenza.

Non posso dire nulla dei personaggi o della storia, li ho intravisti, ho colto alcuni particolari, ma la loro personalità resta ignota e così deve essere perché questo racconto non è che un’introduzione, un piccolo passo, come ho detto in precedenza. Tutto sta per avvenire, e nei romanzi che compongono la serie potremo veder brillare amore, passione, desiderio, “perversione”. Mi sto sfregando le mani, tamburello le dita sul tavolo, mi sta già salendo la pressione.

Easton e Daniel si amano.
Easton ha un segreto e Daniel lo scopre.
Ora inizia la loro storia e l’idea di esplorare le implicazioni che questo segreto avrà sulla loro relazione mi fa fremere di aspettativa.
Sembra proprio che i due protagonisti si siano celati e ora siano pronti per rivelare loro stessi. Qualcosa hanno accennato, ma sono state soltanto poche, piccole briciole.

Un applauso all’autrice per l’abilità che ha dimostrato nell’innescare la bomba. Non vedo l’ora che esploda.

Smeraldine, Easton non è un vero e proprio libro, ma una novella breve e dolce che darà il via alla serie Leashes and Lace, composta da più libri e scritta da una nuova autrice che fa la sua comparsa nel mondo del male to male italiano, grazie alla Quixote Edizioni, che in questo genere sa il fatto suo. I protagonisti, Daniel e Easton, si frequentano da quasi un anno ormai, vanno molto d’accordo sotto tanti aspetti, ma uno dei due nasconde all’altro qualcosa e l’altro lo sospetta ma non ha la minima idea di cosa possa trattarsi. Ognuno dei due, quindi, ha qualcosa che lo tormenta e che potrebbe mettere in pericolo la loro relazione. Così, mentre il loro primo San Valentino si avvicina, entrambi decidono di trovare una soluzione al problema. Daniel, da parte sua, è intenzionato a capire perché ogni volta che mette piede dentro casa del compagno, questi sia parecchio teso. Easton, da parte sua, è molto preoccupato e si domanda sempre più spesso se aver omesso un fatto importante che riguarda la sua vita e che, per riflesso, riguarderà anche la persona con cui vorrebbe condividerne parte, se non il resto di tutti i suoi giorni, sia un fatto grave. E soprattutto quando Daniel scoprirà la sua omissione si arrabbierà tanto? Potrà accettare questa parte di lui? Per un caso fortuito Daniel scoprirà il suo segreto e pur rimanendone interdetto in un primo momento, farà di tutto per far capire al suo compagno che questa sua particolarità è ben accetta nella loro relazione e che non deve più nascondergli nulla. Come vi dicevo all’inizio, la storia si svolge in poche pagine, ma tanto mi è bastato per capire che l’autrice è molto brava a usare le parole e a coinvolgere il lettore creando in lui aspettativa e curiosità. La sua scrittura è semplice e scorrevole, quasi essenziale, in grado di miscelare perfettamente i sentimenti d’amore e la passione travolgente. Se volete avvicinarvi al genere questo è il libro che fa per voi perché si legge in poco meno di un’ora, l’amore e la dolcezza della storia la si avverte a pelle e, non è volgare e soprattutto ha un costo bassissimo. Personalmente attendo con ansia il successivo libro della serie di cui ho già sbirciato la trama in inglese.

Una storia dolcissima, ma al tempo stesso sensuale e sexy. L'autrice è stata bravissima a delineare e a caratterizzare i personaggi in poche pagine (si tratta di una novella) e al tempo stesso a incuriosire il lettore e a porre le basi per una serie che promette scintille. Il libro narra la storia di Daniel e Easton due giovani innamorati alle prese con un segreto. Easton adora il pizzo e indossare intimo da donna sotto i vestiti perchè lo fa sentire più carino, grazioso e sicuro. Questo suo kink è qualcosa che sente nel profondo e che adora, ma che è fonte di preoccupazione e ansia perchè non sa come dirlo a Daniel e ha paura di essere rifiutato. Daniel d'altronde ha capito che Easton nasconde qualcosa in quanto percepisce l'inquietudine e l'irrequietezza quando invade gli spazi o la privacy della sua casa. Quando poi scopre per caso il segreto di Easton si trova di fronte a un dilemma: dirglielo o non dirglielo? Ma dopo un primo momento di dubbio, farà di tutto per far capire a Easton che questo suo kink e ben accetto e che non deve nascondergli nulla perchè lui lo ama così com'è. Ed è proprio quando entrambi si lasceranno andare e vivranno il loro amore nella piena accettazione di se stessi che la sensualità raggiunge il massimo livello. In conclusione una novella che mi è piaciuta moltissimo sia per l'atmosfera dolce e romantica e per la sua sensualità, sia per lo stile dell'autrice che è riuscita a fare di questa novella una storia completa e ricca di particolari, in cui i personaggi sono comunque ben delineati e caratterizzati. Lo stile poi è fluido e divertente.

“Easton” è un racconto di poche pagine, una storia dolcissima senza drammi o melodrammi. Non vivrete attimi sconvolgenti o angoscianti, risate sfrenate o surreali. Questa è la storia di due giovani innamorati e di un segreto. Daniel sa che Easton gli nasconde qualcosa, percepisce un velo di inquietudine che spesso gli adombra lo sguardo, una tensione che diviene irrequietezza quando invade i suoi spazi, la privacy della sua casa. Scoprire il mistero che lo ammanta lo porrà in una situazione delicata e rischiosa. Easton sa che deve aprirsi con Daniel, rivelargli il suo kink, ma la paura di non essere capito, di essere guardato con disgusto e di conseguenza rifiutato scatena in lui ansia e paura. Il loro amore e la paura di perdersi li ha portati a mascherare e reprimere certi lati del loro carattere, certe esigenze che li frenano e li fanno titubare dei loro sentimenti.
Sicuramente “Easton” è una storia ricca di tenerezza raccontataci con semplicità e fluidità. Shaw Montgomery tratteggia due protagonisti lievi, quasi delicati, che ci introducono in nuova serie che promette di divenire più intensa e particolare di volume in volume. Come faccio a saperlo? Mi sono spoilerata i volumi in inglese, storie che aspetterò con trepidazione in italiano. L’unico aspetto che mi ha un po’ destabilizzata è stata la brevità della vicenda, avrei voluto poter leggere una più approfondita analisi su Easton e Daniel, vederli maggiormente caratterizzati in maniera da donare un po’ più di spessore alla loro storia.

This was a lovely short story as an introduction to the series. I liked the way that the thoughts and emotions of both of the guys were described well and how they were both tortured about the whole secret issue. I loved Daniel's reaction to it and how it showed Easton that he should have told him before and not gotten so nervous about it. Easy to read, feel and understand. An MM story with a little mature content.

A sweet novella about Daniel and his boyfriend, Easton, sharing their first Valentine’s Day together. The dialogue seemed a little rigid in a few spots but a little imagination made it easy to associate that with jitters and general awkwardness about the upcoming holiday. Plot and character development are limited due to the abbreviated length but enough to make for a complete story.

Perfect for a quick lunch break or commute read. A good introduction to the series—can’t wait to meet Eli.

I realized I read this before (it's a freebie from the author) but never recorded it so here it is.

It's just a cute short about Easton and Daniel who have been dating for a while and Daniel feels like Easton is hiding something. When he's staying at Easton's place he borrows his computer and ooops, Easton left open the website to a sexy manties website. This kind of blows Daniel's mind but V-Day is the next week so he orders something. Meanwhile Easton is fretting about telling Daniel who is awesome in every way but very vanilla.

It's cute and says a lot about assuming things about people because Daniel takes to the more dommy side of things with a passion and Easton realizes his worries for for naught. So cute and light but I think a lot of people (especially younger people - maybe I'm old and don't cae anymore) are afraid of scaring off someone with their unusual practices/habits/desires.

So this one was okay. It was SUPER short. A prequel novella to the Leashes and Lace series by Shaw Montgomery. It’s about Daniel and Easton, who’ve been dating for 9 months. But Easton has a secret and when Daniel finds out it’s lingerie, he surprises his boyfriend with an outfit. It surprises Easton who thinks Daniel is vanilla. A sexy time commences and the end.

Like I said, it was okay. I wasn’t too fond of the writing. I didn’t really connect with the characters, and the actual story ended at 75%. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I received a copy of this short story whilst I was at a convention. I had not come across this author before and I was looking forward to discovering someone new. I was really happy to read this story, and I blitzed it in one go. I loved that Shaw has delved into the world of men wearing women's underwear and fetishes. I laughed on a couple of occasions and really enjoyed the characters. I am interested in reading more of this series, and would actively seek out this author.

This is a cute really hot short story about Daniel and Easton getting to know a little more about each other and about themselves. Loved the characters and the story! Can’t wait to read more by this author!
