New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams delivers the first captivating, stand-alone novel in her REDEMPTION series spin-off—the REBEL series...

I’m not the kind of girl you forget.

I wish I was.

I wish I was normal.

That I could blend into a crowd. Have a future with the man I’ve loved my entire life . . .
Maxon James understands me in a way others can’t.

For as long as I can remember, he’s vowed that one day he would claim my wild, rebel heart. God knows I wanted him to try. I wanted the life he promised me in his lyrics.

But his assurances couldn’t change the past, and the infamous mafia blood in my veins guarantees my heart can’t be claimed.

Somewhere along the way, I slipped. I let myself believe we could have it all. Now a dark, menacing shadow hovers between us, mocking us for daring to hope for a normal future.

And it’s come to collect on a blood oath.

My name’s Elizabeth Borello—Libby for short. Don’t worry about forgetting it . . . He hasn’t.

Molly grew up in California but now lives with her husband and daughter in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach . . . which roughly translates to being a homebody and dishing out movie quotes with her hubby. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and loves curling up in a fluffy blanket during a thunderstorm . . . or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

When I think of us . . . I think of loving you to the point of exhaustion.”

The blurb to this book hooked me immediately. I've been super curious to try a Molly McAdams book for a long while, and with this brand new series, I figured is a great place to start.

Unfortunately, I soon realized that this being my first Molly McAdams book was also the thing that was working against me. You see, while this was the first book in the series, it was clearly a spin-off from her earlier series, Redemption. And try as I might to continue to read and wrap my mind around everything, I still felt like I was thrown into the deep end with no life raft. There's so many characters that are "introduced" that clearly have a long backstory that bleeds into this one, however, they're discussed like you already know them. There's a slew of secondary characters that are barely introduced and discussed like there's a clear expectation for the reader to know them, but sadly I had no clue. I kept hoping that the more I read, the less confused I'd be, but alas it continued until the last page. And while I did eventually somewhat understand the dynamics of all these characters and what they bring to the story of Maxon and Libby, figuring it all out inevitably kept me from fully connecting and engaging with this story.

There's a heavy element of suspense that's present here, and admittedly that's the part that kept me reading. I wanted to see how it all resolves and who the baddies were. But in the midst of everything else that was happening, I couldn't help but feel like the romance took an extreme backseat. I felt like most of it happened off the pages. Maxon and Libby clearly have a past, and it's mentioned once or twice before you're thrown into their relationship that was clearly already happening. I could never truly form a connection to this couple because of it. There's just too many relationship development dynamics that happened off the pages for me to ever truly be invested.

I was lost for the entirety of the book. I was focusing so much effort on trying to understand the dynamics of all the characters and their backstory, that the actual romance was completely lost on me. I will say I enjoyed the writing style and voice of the author, and I'll most definitely try another one of her books in the future. Perhaps I'll go back and read the first book in the Redemption series. Clearly I'm in the minority with my opinion, so please take it with a grain of salt. However, when I'm reading the first book in a new series, I do have the expectation to be able to get truly engrained in the world fairly quickly, and sadly that never happened here.

A romance story laced with danger and suspense is the best way I would describe this exciting read.

‘Your heartbeat will always be my favourite song’

Libby has been in love with Maxon James since they were teenagers. He is a well known rock star in a band and travels all over the world. When he visits their home town they always hook up and enjoy a more physical side to their friendship. This is nothing serious or committed, they both know that his career is not conducive to a permanent arrangement.

Maxon has always known that Libby was the one for him and he plans to one day make sure she knows it. He has plans for them and he means to see them through. The only issue is her family. Her mafia family. He has always been aware of there being a mafia connection but he doesn’t fully understand what it all means.

When Maxon and his band arrive back in town to end their tour, Libby is surprised to find out they have plans to stay there, indefinitely. Maxon draws attention anywhere he goes so spending time with him publicly will most likely put her in spotlight. Libby prefers to live life under the radar. She hasn’t had any reason not to feel safe but she knows that drawing attention to herself could bring unwelcome attention also.

Libby may think their family is free from contracts and arrangements that her father agreed to many years ago but she soon discovers that she was wrong. There is a debt owing and someone is hell bent on collecting it. This means anyone close to her is in danger and if that means she has to make sacrifices then that is what she will do.

However, Libby underestimates the lengths that Maxon James will go to, to protect the girl he loves. Yep, shit is about to get real!

‘That girl…’ I huffed and ran my hand over my face. I shrugged and spoke simply and truthfully. ‘She’s every lyric I’ve ever written.’

OMFG! I am insanely addicted to Molly McAdams words! Goodness, this woman definitely knows how to captivate her readers. Lyric was a fantastic read and I can't get enough! It was a turbulent roller coaster ride and I pretty much devoured it from start to finish.

Mafia coupled with rockstar romance is pretty much not something I thought I would love. I want my mafia books into the darker, grittier, filthier side and packed full of actions but reading Lyric rectified that. I was in awe again with Molly's writing style. She may have not given me the mafia I wad accustomed to read, but she gave me a tale I was not just drawn but became OBSESSED. Libby and Maxon's journey was one hell of a ride I will never forget. The mixture of romance and mafia world plus the suspense and mystery was on point that it was so hard for me to let go of them.

Libby, my god I love her spirit. Even from the previous books, I already had an instant connection with her. Paired up with Maxon and I was a goner. ALL Hail for a love that speaks volumes of forever despite distance, time and the threats of mafia world. It was written palpably that whatever Molly wanted to deliver was felt all throughout the book. The buildup of the story kept me on the edge. It bled suspense, thrill, romance and all the in betweens --- I was so High! High with Molly's words. High with a journey I felt deep in my bones. High for a second chance of love protected because of threats. GAaahd! It was freeing the moment I hit the end.

Great job Molly McAdams, again you deliver a tale that had me captivated. I love Lyric. You made me invested with this page turner joipurney. It was a breath of fresh air in the mafia world. Uniquely written and higly addicting.

Highly recommended!

”The greatest hunter is silent, invisible, and attacks when you least expect it.”

HOLY HIGH! WHOA! What a WILD RIDE! LYRIC is Molly McAdams’ latest adrenaline-addicting and heart-hitting HIGH of a read, and I can’t stop FEELING this tale that touched me so much. It’s molten hot. It’s sugary sweet. It’s terrifyingly twisted. It’s all-consuming. This story consumed me. I WAS POSSESSED! Lyric was a predator and I was the prey. With its potent shot of shuddering suspense, sweet second-chance love, rock star flair, dark mafia intensity, and Romeo and Juliet vibe, Lyric is ROMANCE PERFECTION!

Lyric is the story of and the battle for an independent, take-no-prisoners mob princess and a hot and heartwarming rock star ready to make her his. After first meeting Libby in Firefly, I HAD to have her story. This beautiful and bold beauty, this rebel, whose heart only beats for one man, one rock star, Maxon.

The rock star who frequented my dreams and haunted my sheets.

The boy who vowed to be my forever.

The man who shattered my world.

Maxon is the calm to Libby’s storm but Libby is the protector, and oh were they perfection together: The Rebel and the Rock Star. Hot and huge-hearted, Maxon, MELTED ME. I gave him my heart and he held still owns it and me. Be still my beating heart, the heart that soared high for Maxon. All the SWOON.

”When I think of us . . .I think of loving you to the point of exhaustion.”

There is such a ROMANCE RUSH when I sink myself into a Molly McAdams story like Lyric. Half of Lyric’s words penetrate like a knife, cutting deeply, twisting and turning around the heart, where you plummet through the dark. OH WILL YOU LOVE THAT FALL! The other half shines through like the sun, soaking you in warmth and light, where you feel as if you’re floating on air, everything so right. It's this whirlwind of light mixed with dark intertwined in angst that draws me to Molly McAdams’ romantic suspenses, stories that surge with electricity, jolting my heart. I can’t get enough of Molly McAdams’ Redemption series and now its Rebel spin-off.

”It feels like I can’t breathe because you’re taking my heart and slowly crushing it.”

Lyric sank into my soul—my emotions on edge—as its pendulum-like push and pull thrust me to the edge. I was UTTERLY INTRIGUED, so enticed, as I put the pieces of this puzzle together. Words opened the floodgate of feels: PULSE-POUNDING ... POIGNANT ... PASSIONATE ... POWERFUL. Lyric’s words penetrated me like rain and I wanted to feel every last drop.

We’ve dealt with enemies before—faced assassins silent as the night. But . . . They were ghosts.

Sinfully sexy, pulse-pounding, and passionately poignant, Lyric HEATS THE HEART and SLAYS THE SOUL in an angst-bleeding roller coaster of a romance that will have you SCREAMING FOR MORE. I sweated. I swooned. I shook. I smoldered. I smiled. I LOVE LYRIC SO MUCH! I felt this love story with my whole heart, a heart that burned and bled for Lyric. This book BLAZED through me like fire where I felt every burn, every word, everything. It’s everything. LYRIC IS EVERYTHING!

”Your heartbeat will always be favorite song.”

“Libby was impulsive and wild and free in everything. The way she thought. The way she lived. The way she loved. If you told her not to do something, she’d do it just to show you that you couldn’t stop her. She was my rebel.”

“He made it hard to breathe. He made it hard to concentrate. He made it hard to remember why I hated him, when all I wanted was to fall into his arms and tell him how much I missed him.”

“I’ve always know I wanted forever with you. Just been waiting for you to get there with me.”

Oh, my goodness!!! This book. My heart is still racing. Lyric was so unexpected. So perfect. So everything. It was captivating. It was thrilling. It was all that and more…

Lyric is told from dual points of view and follows the story of Libby and Maxon. Libby and Maxon are the very definition of complicated. Their relationship is special and unique. Maxon has wanted nothing more than to win the heart of Libby and give her everything that she deserves. And Libby would love nothing more than to live out her days with Maxon, but a big family secret keeps her from doing just that. No matter how much she wants Maxon, she will do whatever it takes to keep him safe; even if it means breaking their hearts along the way. But the love Libby and Maxon share is a force to be reckoned with. Neither one of them are willing to give up so easily. When Libby’s past catches up to the present, that intense love with be put to the test. And only time will tell if they are strong enough to face what life is throwing at them….

I’m going to be totally honest with you, when I picked up this book, I had no real idea what I was getting myself into. I mean, I knew it was a Molly McAdams read, so I was totally prepared to have my heart ripped out of my chest and be taken on an emotional ride. But, boy let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up Lyric. From the moment I picked up this book, I was completely captivated. I was totally lost in Libby and Maxon’s story and wild horses couldn’t stop me from reading this book. I was hooked. I had a million questions all while my heart was aching for these two characters. Their push. Their pull. Their chemistry was just off the charts and I couldn’t get enough of them. They were complicated, yet so in love. And when forces beyond their control tried to break them apart, there is nothing these two wouldn’t do to protect or save the other. I was totally riveted as I watched their story play out. I was on the edge of my seat and glued to the pages.

Lyric is a fast paced and exciting romance. It’s filled with delicious angst and a steamy romance. It’s filled with an everlasting love and determination. It’s got the sweet and swoon-worthy and the down right sexy. There is suspense and danger around each corner. There are twists that will have you blowing through the pages, just to see how it will all end. This book hit all the marks for me and totally blew my mind. I loved every single second of it and can not wait to get my hands on the next book in this series!

You know how there are stories that just hit you square in the chest, leaving you breathless and dazed? One where the emotions that barrel through you all throughout were so potent, they leave goosebumps dancing across your skin? One where the characters constantly leave you craving for more after every chapter you inhale? Yeah, this is absolutely one of those books. A couple of lines in, and I was instantly hooked and deeply invested in the story already.

“Your heartbeat will always be my favorite song.”

My love for Maxon James and Libby Borello is just through the roof. Their tale certainly left me in a gigantic ball of feels and emotions. I never wanted it to end, and yet I couldn't stop myself from reading it either. Every time I wanted to slow down or attempt to put it down, just so I could savor the moments more and prolong the inevitable end, I find myself going back and rereading lines and paragraphs that spoke so loudly to me instead.

“That girl... She’s every lyric I’ve ever written.”

The unique combination of the mob and rock star romance was quite an alluring blend I didn’t know I’d dig and be so into. The thrill and rush I experienced from both aspects just heightened the feels I was already drowning in from the love story of Maxon and Libby alone. Not to mention, every anguish and struggle and heartache they endured, I also felt deep in my bones. Mix all of that up together, and I was just a heap of overwhelming feelings and useless limbs, with an army of raging butterflies in my stomach. Needless to say, this book undoubtedly did crazy, dangerous, and overly addictive things, not only to my heart, but my mind and ovaries as well.

“Your lies have never tasted so true.”

And I might be ashamed to say that it took me this long and that Lyric is the one that popped my Molly McAdams cherry, but I also couldn’t be more stoked about it. Especially after reading it and getting a feel of how much the story pierced straight through my soul. Right now, after experiencing all of that, I’m just itching to devour and binge read the books in the Redemption series and everything else she’s ever written. Because seriously, where have you been all my life Molly? Your words, your characters... they’re truly transcendental. They’re the knockout punch to the gut that I long for in a remarkable and flawlessly written romance novel.

Breathtaking and brutally captivating, Lyric is a crazy rollercoaster ride you’ll have to brace yourself and prepare your heart for. It’s a whirlwind of uninhibited love, passion, music, and some major nail-biting suspense. Molly McAdams just slayed the crap out of this book and it’s most definitely one I won’t forget anytime soon. If you haven’t read anything by her, I suggest that you do right away. Because I had no idea what and how much I was missing, until this.

Oh Molly, Molly, Molly - what you have you gotten me sucked into?!?! Lyric is the first book a spinoff series from Redemption. While I only read one book in the Redemption series, I was in no way confused or felt like I was missing anything as I read this story. Honestly, this story makes me want to go back and read the other books just to know what happened in that series.

"Your heartbeat will always be my favorite song."

Libby and Maxon have been in each other lives forever. Maxon has always told Libby that they would be together forever. But it's on his return from a tour that he comes back to a different Libby - stronger in new ways, but also more distant. Maxon knows he needs to change things in order to get Libby back and keep her. But can he really keep her??

"You've given me the greatest gift laced with the cruelest pain, because I know...damnit I know any day you're about to take it away."

Molly slayed me with this book. I love Maxon's determination to prove to Libby that they truly are forever, regardless of every wall she throws up. Libby is not only crushing his heart at every turn, but she's also hurting herself, but it's for the best in her eyes. Maxon has no idea who her family is and she wants to keep Maxon from away from the harm that could come his way.

"And I've spent half my life with your eyes begging me to chase you and one of your hands pressed to my chest, keeping me from catching you."

Molly delivers a perfect mix of romance and suspense in this book. I love how everything played out in this book so much. While I was correct in guessing who was behind the mysterious mask, I was no way deterred from continuing reading this one. I was super excited I was right because I doubted myself a few times.

Overall, I absolutely love this book and can't wait to dive into the rest of the books. I couldn't stop reading this once I started. I needed to know who was behind everything and how things would end for Libby and Maxon. Now I must go back and read the rest of the Redemption series.

Who does that?!?! Who writes about secret mafia groups and still manages to leave her readers a blubbery mess. Molly McAdams that's who.

How far would you go for the one you loved?

I was so excited when I heard we were getting a full length novel of Libby and Maxon. And McAdams didn't disappoint. I was also excited we were getting a spin off series to the Redemption series. I can't get enough of these characters and this side of McAdams writing. I loved how McAdams changed the rolls in this book in a way. Where the female became the protector and male was vulnerable and showed and emotional side. Don't get me wrong Maxon had a dominate side. But it was nice to see his vulnerability and love for Libby shine. And I loved seeing Libby's strength even when she felt weak. This was a great read!!! I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Lyric was more than a rock star romance. It was filled with passion and drama and a mystery I kept turning pages feverishly to figure out. Just when I thought oh yeah it’s him well I was sadly wrong. I honestly love that in a book.

Libby is in love with Maxon. They have known each other since they were 15 but her life isn’t conducive to his lifestyle. She has secrets as deep as the ocean and she believes if she keeps Max at a distance he will be safe from her family and all that it entails. When Maxon comes crashing back into her life with the promise of staying she gives it a try. Sadly life doesn’t always work out that way.

Maxon has always loved Libby a woman he calls his rebel. His band has made it big. Clawing their way out of their dire upbringing he has never given up on Rebel. He comes home to make this girl his in every way only to find her acting strangely and unlike the girl he loves. When secrets come to light he does all he can to hold on and what a wild ride it is.

I will admit I didn’t read nor did I know that this was a spin off of another series so I had no previous knowledge of any of these characters. I didn’t feel it distracted me from the story though. Sure it would have been nice to have some background information but it was fine to read as it is. I loved that this book had heart underneath all the who done it. I admit I’m going to eyeball my polaroid camera rather oddly now. Creepy!!!!! I just wish Libby would have had more faith in Maxon but I guess that was the point of keeping him safe. That darn contract!! I mean seriously?? I will definitely read the books that Lyric was a spin off from.

When your a Borella, your Mafia! Sometimes it's by blood other times it's by Oath. In Libby's case it's by blood. promises are made, contracts are written. Sometimes there is BLOOD!!!
Libby is a true Rebel in her family. Dont's tell her what to do or not do. Because you can bet she will do it her way
Libby doesn't live by mob rules. This could be a problem. The biggest problem is who she's in love with. ( Not telling you who it is) Her mother and brother think this is bad.
Molly's Mafia is terrifying and yet really keeps you hooked and not wanting to put the book down. Not gonna lie, I was scared out of my mind quiet a bit. But I knew I had to see the book through. If it were possible I would rate this book 10 stars

Lyric is book 1 of the spin off from Molly's Redemption Series.

The good:
Molly writes emotion like no one's business. She creates a connection with Lizzy and Maxon that, really, was the only thing that kept me reading.

The not so good:
If you haven't read the Redemption Series, you'll be lost. So many characters are introduced without any background given on them. I was, honestly, disappointed in this. It was as if you are expected to know who they are and what they've done in previous books. It felt like certain scenarios picked right up from another book, which can't be right because this is a standalone. The plot dragged and seemed slightly repetitious. Had the gaping holes been filled in, it might have made more sense.

Another fantastic read by Molly McAdams! I read this in a day, I just could not put it down. I loved being back in the Redemption world. That series is awesome!! I really enjoyed Maxon and Libby’s story. The connection between the two of them, even after all their time apart, is just beautiful. It broke my heart at times to see them both suffering so much. But I always knew they’d find their way back to each other.
One of the great things about Lyric (and the Redemption series) is the amazing cast of characters. I just love them all! I hope they all get books, but I am definitely super stoked for Einstein’s book!

I once asked Molly McAdams which books of hers I should read and this is the book she recommended.

So, nice choice.

I wasn't sure what I expected when I hit play on this audio. I was in it for the long haul, I had a 2300 mile trip ahead of me and I was determined to knock out some of my ridiculous TBR.

And Lyric was already sitting there on my audiobook shelf, downloaded and ready to go, just waiting for me to hit play.

So I did.

Now is a good time to tell you I didn't read the blurb. Just took Molly at her word and dove right in. There's nothing like blind trust to really get you in the mood for a book (although why I trust her is beyond me, the last time I read one of her books she left me gutted on the floor).

So, Lyric.

Wow. I like the detail, the characters, the love, the devotion, the...Wait, what??! The mafia?! Is this a mafia book?

Oh, yes, yes it is. And the twists and turns and lies and deceit that happen in this book left my jaw on the floor.

She got me. Why I am so surprised is beyond me. I should know to not trust Molly with my reading choices. I should have known better.
But here we are.

I'm moving on to book two because this book was fantastic.

Like I said, if you want the swooniest romance mixed with a bit of mafia blood--okay, a lot of mafia blood--then this is the book for you.

Just know that Maxon James is going to win your heart. You're gonna wish you were every lyric he had ever written too.

And because I'm me, I want the spin-off story of Gabe. This ten years of waiting through his eyes. Because I bet that shit is twisted.

Another amazing story from this author. I feel like I always get something new and exciting with every book from McAdams! Every word she writes is addictive. She has a way with her characters that makes me fall in love with each new one she creates.

This is a spin off series to the Redemption series. Lyric delivered suspense and angst. It's a second chance ,mafia and rock star book all tide together. Libby and Maxon have been in love with one another since they were teenagers. Libby is a mob princess and Maxon is a rock star. Their on two different paths and Libby has made it that way to protect Maxon. Maxon loves his rebel fiercely and is determined to show her that they are meant be together forever. He has their future planned. "And I've spent half my life with your eyes begging me to chase you and one of your hands pressed to my chest, keeping me from catching you." Libby only has one thing in mind and thats to protect Maxon even if she has to lose him forever.

"I told them the only trurh I could give them- that you are every lyric I've ever written."

I really enjoyed this story and I'm looking forward to reading more of the Rebel series.

So good to be back with these guys and all the drama that follows them around.

Libby and Maxon are like star crossed lovers the timing just never seems to be on their side. Libby has loved him since they were teenagers but Maxon is a rock star who’s never in one place long. They hook up when he’s hone but then go their separate ways.

Although he knows about her family he really has no idea what being part of a Mafia family entails. For her part Libby likes to live life out the spotlight she may think all the dodgy Mafia deals are over but she’s about to find out his wrong she is.

Although I loved both the characters and story they infuriated me so much. I was internally screaming at them to just talk to each other but hey it wouldn’t be such a good story without sone drama.

Another great read from one of my favourite authors.

FULL REVIEW to come for Blog Tour..... Another AMAZING book by Molly!! This new series is off to a GREAT start. This is a MUST READ!!

HOLY MOLY!!! Molly is on fire when it comes to these romantic suspense stories. I devoured this book. I didn’t want to put it down.

Lyric is the first book in Molly’s spin off Rebel Series. This is a series that is going to focus on secondary characters that you meet in her Redemption Series. As with the Redemption Series, Molly takes you on a true rollercoaster ride of emotions in this Rebel Series. She had me laughing at times, swooning, yelling at my kindle and falling in love. This book is truly AMAZING!!!!

I won’t be able to talk about the storyline much at all. This is a story you need to read and feel for yourself. Yes I said feel, because with any Molly McAdams book her writing is so captivating that you feel everything her characters feel. Lyric is a standalone novel that is told in Dual POV, but I honestly think that you need to read the Redemption Series first…at least Firefly (Book 2) I think this book could get kind of confusing because of some of things that are brought up, kind of carry over from Firefly. Plus the characters in this book are all introduced to you in Firefly. I truly believe to get the full experience of this side of Molly McAdams this series and her Redemption series should be read in order.

This is very well written and will suck you in right from the start. That is what I love about Molly’s books, she doesn’t mess around, she gets you into the thick of things right from the start. You won’t want to put this book down. I still love the amount of time and effort Molly puts into plotting and researching her stories, because to me that makes them feel more real and relatable. You forget you are reading a work of fiction when you read her books.

I know this review is short and I apologize for that, but all I can really say is READ THIS BOOK!!!! You won’t be sorry.

Mafia princess meet bad boy rocker!!

It's amazing how long you can know someone and not really know where they come from. You may have some idea but you don't always grasp the FULL concept, even though you know them. This story was an interesting mix. Mafia and rocker combined in one. And a good combination it was. This story made me think a little bit. What are you willing to sacrifice to protect those that you love. Even though in the end it hurts you more than them yet you sacrifice so much to keep them safe. And the you also have the other side of that. What would you do to prove that you are in it for the long hall. What risks are you willing to take to prove that nothing is going to take you from them. Great story. Great characters. Definite recommendation!

Whenever I start a Molly Mcadams story I know I am in for a rollercoaster of epic proportions. I absolutely FLOVED her Redemption series and honestly could not wait to get my hands on Lyric. This story was painful, passionate, so emotional and just fantastic. I could not get enough of Libby and Maxon!

This story gutted me at times but like all stories by this author she also healed me with her beautiful words. I loved the passion and banter between Maxon and Libby and how simple misunderstandings and tensions create such a maelstrom of waves. I loved the feeling of dread in my stomach because it gave me all the feels and chills!

It was wonderful seeing the Redemption gang again as I can never get enough of Dare. All in all this story was fantastic and I look forward to the next one! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Libby and Mason have known each other for a long time and for a while now they have had an understanding- when Mason is in town they hook up and then move on. But that hasn’t stopped Libby nor Mason from falling for each other. Mason is back in town and for good and he is determined to make Libby his once and for all. But Libby’s life isn’t exactly safe and she will do everything she can including sacrificing her happiness to keep Mason safe. But he isn’t about to stand down and let that happen...no matter the danger Mason isn’t going to stop until he has the girl he loves by his side.

“I’ve poured out my goddamn heart to you in every song, Libby. I’ve never hidden anything from you. I’ve loved you and worshipped you and been so damn transparent every step of the way.”

Molly McAdams is back with a bang! I absolutely adore her Redemption series and when I found out this was a spin off I couldn’t wait to dive in and it did not disappoint. Molly McAdams is the Queen of romantic suspense and the hot and dangerous couples she creates - the plot keeps you hooked from page one and the couples chemistry melts off the pages. Once again the perfect combination for a 5 star read!

“This time those simple, innocent words had frozen fingers gripping my spine, and left me cold the rest of the night. Because they sounded like a dark promise.”

Maxon and Libby were just perfect characters to be enthralled with. Maxon’s determination and love for Libby was beyond perfect; no matter how many times Libby tried to put up walls, Maxon was determined to knock them down. He was never going to give up and I just fell completely for him. Libby was one strong woman- having so much to deal with and still stay standing. I admired that she wanted to protect Maxon from her family and way of life but I also desperately wanted her to let Maxon in as I knew he would want to protect her just as much as she was protecting him. Their chemistry and connection was endearing and sweet, hot and dangerous and light and dark. I couldn’t get enough of either of them and I have to say I think they are one of my favourite couples so far this year.

“Your heartbeat will always be my favorite song,” I whispered against her shoulder, then slipped out of bed.”

I didn’t expect anything less than complete on the edge of your seat reading with the plot and that’s exactly what I got. After reading the Redemption series I knew I was going to be in for one hell of rollercoaster ride when it came to what Molly would put these characters through. Straight away I was desperate to know who “him” was - such a dark and sinister presence which had me guessing and kept me hooked; I won’t give anything away but as always with Molly we have plenty of twists and turns to throw us off! We always have the intense romance but it’s also a mob story, a rockstar story and a danger story all rolled into one to create something that is full of drama, love, sadness, suspense, passion and danger.

Ahhh! I have been EAGERLY anticipating this spin-off series ever since Molly McAdams first announced it shortly after the release of her final installment in her addictively captivating Redemption series...perhaps my favorite series of 2017 I might add!

After inhaling the first installment in the Rebel series, I am even more excited to be back in the Borello world because my goodness this family knows how to consume ones heart! Firefly aka Dare and Lily's story is my absolute FAVORITE Molly McAdams' book ever (although let me just say that they are all EQUALLY amazing), so color me surprised when I learned that Libby (Dare's sister) was getting the first book in this brand new series! Let's just say that I was certainly a VERY happy reader!

Unlike Molly McAdams previous releases, I was a little nervous going into this book for the sheer fact that I have never been so invested in a group of characters as much as I was when it came to the Borello Family. For the past year these characters have controlled my whole body and soul and now that it came time to revisit them I wasn't sure if they would still live up to my expectations. HOWEVER...I should know by now never to doubt this author because she can do NO WRONG. This story just helped me fall deeper in LOVE with this dark and twisted family!

Lyric aka Libby and Maxon story was a beautifully raw and captivating tale that will capture any readers heart. This one although filled with suspense had a completely different feel to it then the Redemption series. Not only did we get that suspense element that we all love and crave, but drama and mystery was in full swing from beginning to end. Oh and we certainly cannot forget the ANGST! SO MUCH FREAKING ANGST that readers won't know what to do with themselves.

This book was EVERYTHING and I can't wait for the next installment because I have a feeling that we are getting closer to Einstein's story and her happily ever after...something she wholeheartedly deserves! Oh please Molly McAdams tell me her story is next...PLEASE!

So I LOVED the Redemption series and when I found out this was book 1 in a spin off series, I had to have it. And boy, Molly didn’t disappoint!

Maxon and Libby have been each other’s everything since they were teenagers. When Maxon makes it big with his rock star band Henley, it takes him away from his love but he always comes back. During those times, everything is bliss until he has to go away again...

Until he decides to stay...

You see Libby has always been “the one” for Maxon and now is his chance to prove it with action. He’s always had a way with words...writing about his love for her in his lyrics but now’s the time to prove it.

Molly gives readers an action-packed, suspenseful, wonderfully romantic story of second chances. Experiencing the mafia life, the twists and turns, the heart wrenching scenes kept me glued to my kindle.

At times, I’ll be honest, that Libby’s back and forth, while I know trying to be protective, got on my nerves. But I did love her strength, always wanting to protect others, and of course her relationship with Einstein.

Maxon has me at hello... a truly swoon-worthy hero that made me just fall in love with him more and more for his need to show his girl how much he loves her while doing his best to protect her.

I absolutely LOVE McAdams writing and I am dying for more!

4.5 rebel stars!! Molly McAdams has done it again. I know this is a spin off from “Redemption” but it fit right in.

This is book one from the “Rebel” series. This is a stand alone but I am freaking excited for the next book which looked to be about Einstein!!!

🖤 This book is about first love and second chances. But let’s go ahead and tie that in with psychopaths, the mafia, and stone cold killers. This is definitely a Molly McAdams book!!

“My world is born of shadows and kept hidden from view. Your world is in the spotlight and on display for everyone to see...”

💭I am in love with these characters. MANY of them are rough around the edges but always that silver lining. And Maxon is such a fish out of water here but damn I love him. Maybe not as much as Kieran (he is deep in my heart), but he was a pretty damn good guy. Well, Rebel aka Libby surprised me. She irritated me a little bit this book but she is a strong girl. I love all the other characters and I can’t wait for more!!!

Molly has a special way with words. The beginning of her books throw me for a loop every time and I have to re-read and understand that there is so much info given from page one. I think it is genius and that’s probably why I read her books in one sitting because I am attached from the very first page.

This book has love, sex, charm, humor, mafia craziness, murder, suspense, mystery, and so much more. I know this is going to be one hell of a series!!

**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**

Holy WOW !!
This is a hot sexy Rockstar Romance, NO wait, its a high suspense Mafia Romance, no wait !! Who could ever write a book that combines these opposite ends of the chart? A book that absolutely bowled me over !!! Yep Molly McAdams.
Maxon, the delicious Rock Star and Libby, have been in love all their lives, but give each other no commitments.'He's always on tour, he's never home. His lifestyle isn't really one that shouts out, Faithful and Loyal right? But when he is home.. neither He nor Libby can see anything else but each other. Libby is a free spirit, you just can't tie her down. She is also holding a lot of dark and dangerous secrets that she would do anything to protect Maxon from. So what happens when they finally stop the denial of their love and go for it !!!! I loved Maxon, but most of all I loved how he loved Libby!! He left me permanently in a swooning puddle . Libby, just wow !! She is one tough cookie yet her heart is so openly soft, my heart bled for her, and at times I couldn't see how she could ever be in the right place to have the life she dreamed off! This author blends the darkness and the light so perfectly, and i was literally anxious to devour every page.
OMG this book is nothing you expect and everything you want and didn't know!! I love the twist that Molly McAdams give us, i was literally spinning! High drama and suspense had me most definitely palpating. I can't even begin to tell you how quick, hard and fast this book will grip you. Hold on tight because you will be rocked to your core !!!!

Holy rock stars, Batman! This first installment to Molly McAdams’s REBEL series was fan-friggin-tabulous! Those that know me best know that McAdams stole my heart with TAKING CHANCES. That book literally broke me in every way, but I couldn’t get enough. So, I have read every single one of her books, some more than once, and each one is as amazing as the one prior. LYRIC is amazing and quickly took to number 2 on my McAdams list of favorites!

From start to finish, you’re on a wild and crazy ride with Libby and Maxon. You’re wanting to smile, you’re wanting to curse, you’re wanting to throw your book, but most of all, you’re falling in love with all the characters, never wanting the story to end. McAdams adds the perfect amount of twists and turns to their story, making this mafia family an unforgettable one with one hell of a ride!

If you are looking for an incredibly chiseled story by a seasoned author, grab this one. It’s an edge-of-your-seat, jaw dropping, heart wrenching story that will steal your breath away…..not to mention your heart! Fall in love with Libby and Maxon like I did in this roller coaster 5 star read!

This book was sooooo good!!!

When I found out that there was going to be a spin-off of The Redemption Series I was ecstatic!! I stalked Molly religiously waiting for the sign up to this book and I’m definitely not disappointed.

Rebel or Libby is Dare’s older sister. If you read Nightshade then you know who Dare is. Libby is tired of being told what to do in fact if she is told not to do it she will just to be a “rebel”. Not many want her with Maxon. For her safety and ultimately his.

Maxon is in a band. A very popular band. Some are telling him he can’t be with Libby and even she tries to push him away but nothing is stopping him from getting what he wants and that’s Libby.

Their love know no bounds and it makes for one explosive, sexy, suspenseful read! I couldn’t stop reading it. At the end I needed more. Lyric is the perfect combination of love, hotness, suspense and angst. I can’t wait to read more!

So glad to finally learn Libby's story! As a fan of the Redemption series, I have had a hard time saying goodbye or ignoring that I need so much more. Molly McAdams must have felt the same way because...Lyric.

Lyric is a second chance romance in a way. It's a rock star and a mafia romance book all in one. But it freaking works! It's not cliched or corny. It's serious and real in its intensity. Lyric is hopelessly romantic with darkness encroaching the happy. It's the monster under the bed.

My eager and ridiculously ecstatic self is jumping up and down because Lyric is only the beginning of this series. It means many more chances to catch up with my crew.

DNF around 30%

It’s obvious you need to be farmilar with the characters and the plots from the Redemption series, which I’m not, if you want to fully understand what is going on in this book. I highly suggest reading that series first before starting this one. Off to read the first book in the Redemption series.
