The Farrow Gang robs banks with great success, but when Evan Langer is allowed to join, he unsettles things. Young and suffering the recent loss of his outlaw older brother, Evan is in need not only of new partners in crime, but friendship and solace.

Both Wade Farrow and Roy Fitch, gang leaders and sexual partners, take note of Evan, but it’s Roy who orchestrates time alone, where he finds Evan an eager partner. As the gang continues their robbing, Roy finds himself falling deeply for Evan while in turn resisting Wade. Tensions build between the men, and there seems no solution in sight, until the law steps in.

this was very hmmm..macho? and there was an awful lot of dub-con that I didn't particularly enjoy. The characters weren't very likeable people, but I suppose that I should have expected that given it was about outlaws in the old west.

I suspect if you want a book about manly men having lots of dubious sex and causing trouble and not thinking too deeply about their feelings or the consequences of their actions than this would be for you.

The Farrow gang has held their own when it comes to robbing banks. Wade Farrow and Roy Fitch are the brains of the outfit. They also have their sexual moments, but Roy has his own beliefs about that.

Jack Milby shows up at the Farrow gang’s hideout with the young Evan Langer in tow. In order to become one of the Farrows, Wade decides to make Evan pay up, which Roy finds unusual. Evan has caught Roy’s eye, and he has an inkling about what’s going on between Jack and Evan. After all, in the Old West some men had sex with other men just because they could, not because they were gay.

When Jack suggests that the bank in Kettner, Wyoming, is an easy mark, Roy gets Evan’s opinion on it. Roy now has a chance to be alone with Evan, and they do more than just scout the bank in Kettner. There’s something about Evan that makes Roy give thought to what he and Wade get up to. And Roy starts to realize he wants more from life. When things get shaky with the bank robbery, everyone needs to watch their backs.

Dale Chase always catches my eye with her spin on classic Westerns. The stories are quick, short, action filled reads, and always have drama along with eroticism. Even with these snippet stories, her characters’ personalities are really well formed and interesting. The plot is not without danger too—bullets flying, outlaws dying, love, and jealousy. It’s just fun and entertaining!

I only gave this 3 stars because it’s a short story. It is entertaining and fun and I’m always interested to see where Dale Chase will go with the next classic erotic western.
