When Callie Brown runs off to get married, she doesn't realize that her plans will be ruined by the angry father of her groom-to-be. Left to fend for herself, she doesn't know what to do until she's approached by a matchmaker with a plan up her sleeve.
Peter Murray is one of the youngest commanders in the RNWMP, and the pressure to do a good job weighs heavily on his mind. A pretty wife seems like just what he needs to bring some joy into his stress-filled days - but when one of his men is wounded, he wonders if he's cut out to be in command after all.
Leave it to Miss Hazel, the matchmaker to the Mounties, to help bring it all about in the end.
Amelia C. Adams is a wife, a mother, and a novelist. She spends her days dreaming up stories and her nights writing them down. Her biggest hero is her husband, and you might just see bits and pieces of him as you read her novels.
She loves all things historical and enjoys learning about days gone by, but she's glad she was born more recently (she won't say how recently or not recently) because the Internet is awesome, and she's glad she doesn't have to wash her clothes by hand in a galvanized tub. She has hit Amazon bestseller status twice, once for A Clean Slate and once for A Clear Hope.
Callie is running off with her fiancé when his father shows up to stop the flushness. Callie or his inheritance! I think we know which was picked. As poor Callie is sitting at the train station Miss Hazel notices her and runs over to comfort her. As she needs another bride for a mountie she convinces Callie to come along.
Peter is expecting a different person when Callie is introduced. NO matter he likes Callie from the start even after she explains what has happened to her. She takes things nice and slow to win her over. With Chips help it might just happen.
Another great story in the series. I liked how Callie took another chance and Peter being the real gentleman and allowing her time to grow. I wonder what animal we will find this time.
Callie Brown is at the Ottawa train station, just having been jilted by her fiancee'. While sitting on a bench crying Miss Hazel Hughes comes ask her if she'd be willing to become a mail bride to a Mountie in White Fox, Mantoba.
There were to be 4 mail order brides, one got cold feet and left.
She decided to Marry Commander Peter Murray.
There Is love in the air and possible danger.
There is so much to this story you need to read this book!
I have read so many of the books in this series and I enjoyed all of them!
This was the fourth story in White Fox, Manitoba and is the story of Peter, the commander of the unit, and Callie. She has been unusual in that she didn't train for a week with Miss Hazel, but was found at the train station after the original choice couldn't go through with it. I was intrigued about her and am quite happy with the way it was written. I'm curious to see if the next setting will have the name of Buffalo, Bison, or Chip!
Callie is devastated when her future husband allows his father to stop their elopement. Ms. Hazel to the rescue. Peter and his men are awaiting their mail order brides. His original bride to be got cold feet at the last minute, and Callie takes her place. Together they come to realize that it was meant to be.
These books are so much fun. Hazel does it again with four new brides and this one straight from a train depot. She didn't even know what she was going to do and Miss Hazel just puts it out there for her and it works out. These Mounties are full of surprises, especially when it comes to Chip!
I really love these books. Callie was a great match for Peter and he was for her too. I was glad that circumstance led to their last minute match. Peter wanted her to see her worth and importance. Your past doesn't have to foretell your future. This was a great story about two people that belonged together.
This Mounties book was well worth the read, as they have all been throughout the entire series. I guess it is just bad luck to be the last couple at a station because so much background has been given with the other brides sent their. I don't suppose Miss Hazel will ever get her own Mounties, like Evelyn's father, maybe?
Ms. Hazel's finding Callie crying at the rail station is finally explained! And what an awesome explanation. Callie's courage to tell all to Peter is wonderful and Peter's response is, of course, perfect - Just like Peter. Highly recommend this series and of course Amelia Adam's books!
I'm sorry to see the escapades of the mounties of Manitoba come to an end. Peter and Callie were perfect for each other. I was really looking forward to hearing the story of why Callie was at the train station crying. Amelia C. Adams didn't fail me!!!
This is another charming story. I can not say enough about Mrs. Hazel and her brides. You will get a sense of adventure sprinkled with laughter and love. Mrs. Adams has done a masterful job with this couple.
I have loved every book in this wonderful RNWMP series. This is another sweet and fun story about a mail order bride and her Mountie, there meeting ,marriage and life together.Couldnt put it down it was so good.
This story did not grab my attention like others in this series. It seemed to just skirt around the other mounties stories at this location and didn't really go anywhere. I do love Chip.
Even I tend to consider this type of book enjoyable fluff. However, there is a lot of rather major philosophy and deep thought to be found if you stay aware. And chuckles abound.
Thank you so much for writing and I will recommend this book and author to all my friends and family about you and this series. I am not disappointed. Very excited to read and be involved in the story. Cannot wait for more.
Another wonderful read by this awesome author. Commander Peter meets his match with his new bride. The plot thickens when the bad men or vermin come to town, but the Mounties all face this trouble head on. Thank you again for another great read
Now that's what I call a GOODREAD! The candor the heroine and the hero of this book had where brilliant and much needed in this story! That was refreshing! Now on to the next!🙃😉
Peter and Callie's story Another great story in this series. A story how fate rules which was fortunate Callie. This story had a very Happy and satisfying HEA!
Just when you think you have your life figured out fate throws you a curve ball. This is just what happens to Sallie. Another great book by Amelia. 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Like the others, it was good in it's own way. Of course it has it's own ups and goes from the usual newly married couple. But it's still good not matter what. Thanks!
Her writing is just a little different than the others and I truly like how she ties prose together. This story was well written and kept my attention throughout. Good job Mrs Adams 5,
This is the story of Callie and Peter. She is unsure of herself because she was just jilted by her fiance at the train station where Miss Hazel found her crying. He is unsure of himself because he is the youngest Comander of a Post. So they are starting out a marriage where they each need to bolster the others confidence, can they do it? Good story
