About the author

Isaree Siriwankulthon, or commonly referred to as "Mor Sam (Dr. Sam)", is a family doctor, novelist and screenwriter from Chiang Mai, Thailand. Her writings are published under the pen name 'Sammon' and are well-known for being medical-centric LGBT stories.

Some of her notable works have been adapted into TV series, i.e. Triage, Manner of Death, Bite Me, 4MINUTES etc.

Second time reading it and I have to say I actually liked it a lot more the second time. Maybe it is due to the fact that I've read a considerable amount of BLs by now so I can somewhat differentiate between ones that deserve the hype or not. So far I have to say if I have to choose an author that I like in the Thai BL community I would choose Sammon. Her books really cater to my needs when it comes to novels and she manages to keep the story alive even without much romance. With her background in the medical field, she puts to use, the story have a certain uniqueness and most importantly sound much more credible than some random ramblings. The characters seem more realistic and we have less of the typical cliche BL tropes. Not that I have anything against it because if we really look at it, in the end the typical cliches are what keeps rotating and it basically comes down to the execution of the story.
Although there were rumors that this would be made to a drama, we are yet to get it and so far there are no rumors even regarding. Unfortunately personally for me I felt that all of Sammon's adaptation did not live up to the hype which is a pity as all the actors involved in them really did give their best. The unfortunate tragedy of not having a good screenplay or direction has managed to ruin the story. But still I will keep on reading Sammon books and hopefuly we'll get paperback copies of the official translations soon.

Although I have been hearing much about this author, I have been putting the books off for a while due to the number of translation being low. As many know the translations are mainly fan translations and they do not always turn out to be the best. Thus with me starting this with that note, let me take some time to thank the amazing translator for her/his work. The translation was on point and it was a joy to read your translation. I shall not mention his/her name as she had not mentioned if it was translated with the approval of the author or not (it's quite common as many just translates for other fans to read too. Many Thai novels don't have official translations).

First and foremost, this is actually a shorter novel compared to others I've read and might even leave the reader quite confused at first. The loops were really getting on my nerves at first but when the story reached the climax, I can easily say I was intrigued. Although I expected it to have strong climatic scene I was somewhat confused when everything got solved easily but the last chapter truly managed to pique my interest once again. There truly was space for a second book and most importantly we need to get more details on Singha and Gap.

As we are getting an adaptation of Sammon's other novel "Manner of Death" with our Kings of BL Max and Tul, I hope we get an adaptation on this too. We truly need more diversity when it comes to that genre rather than sticking in the university atmosphere all the time. Also I'm hoping I'm not the only one imagining Earth and Mix as the characters of Thihn and Tol and Boun and Prem as Singha and Gap (the last maybe due to the fact that Gap calls Singha 'Hia' and we already know how that sounds like that). Now that I have read one book of this author I'm super interested to read the rest.

Just wasn't into the book into just 30 percent of the book. The book started rather dramatically with strong, amusing characters. But ugh, I sincerely wanted to enjoy and complete this one. But no.

empecé este libro porque me vi la serie por segunda vez (o tercera?) y decir que la amo es poco, así que quería saber si el libro se parecía a la serie. me sorprendió encontrar que son bastantes diferentes!
me gustó como la historia se va desarrollando aunque el ritmo me pareció un poco rápido, en ningún momento se vuelve tediosa y los personajes me gustaron mucho. si bien hay cosas que no me cerraron la lectura es muy amena.

Al terminar la serie me pregunte como de complicado podria ser contar la historia. Luego me imagine que sería un poco aburrido ya que Tihn al regresar al pasado una y otra vez a la misma escena seria tedioso, pero no fue así 😍.

Libro bastante corto y la verdad que ha pesar de la serie hay cosas que no son iguales a ella por lo que me mantuvo enganchada.

Recomendadisimo sobre todo la serie que esta infravalorada. Tengamos en cuenta que es la misma escritora que Manner of dead, ah! Comparten mundos 😁

นิยายที่เขียนโดยเจ้าของอาชีพ มันช่วยให้เข้าใจอาชีพนั้นในมุมมองของคนในได้จริง ๆ นะ นี่เปิดโลกหมอฉุกเฉินเลย เหมือนเดินเข้าวอร์ด ER ประทับใจ พล๊อตดีมาก มีเสน่ห์ เส้นเรื่องหลักชัดมาก มีอารมณ์ขัน เป็นเรื่องที่อ่านแล้วพูดคำว่า ชื่นชมๆๆๆๆ บ่อยมาก นักเขียนเก่งมากค่ะ

Me animé a leer este libro porque me gustó mucho Manner of Death, al ser un poco diferente de las mayoría de las novelas que hay allá afuera.

Una de las cosas que más me gustó de la novela es que al igual que Manner of Death, la historia no se enfoca principalmente en el romance de la pareja principal, sino en el desarrollo de la historia que los une y en cómo dar solución al problema que se enfrentan (o principalmente uno de ellos).

Creo que me hubiera gustado que la historia fuera un poco más larga o tuviera un poco más de desarrollo porque sentí que todo ocurrió muy rápido o muy apresurado.

Si bien hay una serie, no había querido verla hasta leer la historia (regularmente primero veo la serie y luego leo la historia o lo hago de manera simultánea). Creo que cuando la termine, haré una actualización haciendo una comparación.

De igual forma me gustó mucho y la recomiendo ampliamente.

After "Manner of Death" and "Spare me your Mercy", Triage is the third book I've read by Sammon.

The fact that I read the book in one day should say it all. I really liked the basic premise of the story. With Tol and Tin we have two really likeable and realistic characters.
The only real weaknesses of "Manner of Death" and "Spare me your Mercy" in my eyes - the crime aspect - is omitted here and replaced by a supernatural time loop, which was very well realized. As always, Sammon scores points with her medical knowledge.

Without spoiling too much of the story, the only thing that struck me negatively was the resolution of the problem. I found the solution not only too simple, but also extremely questionable. This was solved much better in the series accompanying the book.

Something else that should be mentioned: the english translation is wild! You should bear that in mind before you decide to read it. It was almost funny in how many different ways "Tol" was written. But there were also a few other mistakes that made reading the book a lot more difficult. This is a great pity, as the book is otherwise really exciting.

I loved it :-) I feel so good, young and alive! There are actually two couples in this book, but I prefer the main couple better: P'Tinn and N'Tol 💖 I laughed and I cried and it was the best feeling reading this book! Can't thank you enough Khun Sammon for writing such a lovely piece of work 💞🙏🏼

เลิฟไลน์น่ารัก เข้าใจได้ว่าพอหมอติณห์ต้องเจอต้อลซ้ำ ๆ หลายลูป มันก็เกิดพัฒนาเป็นความรักแบบไม่รู้ตัว บวกกับเรื่องสมัยเด็กด้วย แล้วเราก็ชอบอ่านนิยายที่แทรกความรู้ทางสายอาชีพอยู่แล้ว ต่อให้เชิงอรรถยาวก็ยังชอบอ่านอยู่ดี แต่ที่เสียดายคือไม่ชอบคลายปมของไหมด้วยการปล่อยให้ไหมไปคืนดีกับแฟนเก่าเลย จากใจผู้หญิงด้วยกันรู้สึกมันน่ากลัว อยากให้จบด้วยสักวิธีที่ไหมจะไม่ต้องไปข้องเกี่ยวกับกับแฟนเก่าอีก ฮือ
