After mourning her deceased husband for more than two decades, Grace Stewart feels like she's able to finally move on. With the assistance of her family, she opens a candle and craft shop on Seashell Island, and with their continued support she slowly starts to rebuild her life. Taking it one day at a time, Grace begins to enjoy and appreciate her independence and her decision to live again. She realizes she didn’t die the dreadful night her husband, Michael, did, although she did stop living so many years ago. Grace is surprised and excited when Doctor James Taylor shows an interest in her and asks her out. Grace finds herself with feelings she never expected to have again. James is everything she's ever dreamed of. But when someone accuses James of misconduct, Grace begins to question if he's really the man she thought he was. Does love continue to blossom on Seashell Island, or does Grace find herself heartbroken and alone?
Brenda Kennedy is an award winner, an Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and a Publishers Weekly bestselling author. She is a true believer of romance. Her stories are based on the relationships that define our lives - compassionate, emotionally gripping, and uplifting novels with true to life characters, that stay with her readers long after the last page is turned.
Her varied, not always pleasant background has given her the personal experience to take her readers on an emotional, sometimes heart wrenching, journey through her stories. Brenda has been a struggling single mom, a survivor of domestic abuse, waitress, corrections officer, hostage negotiator and a corrections nurse. She is also a wife, mom, and grandmother. Even though her life was not always rainbows and butterflies, she is a survivor and believes her struggles have made her the person she is today.
Brenda is the author of the award winning book, Forever Country (The Rose Farm Trilogy Book 1). She has been dubbed "The Queen of Cliffhangers" by her adoring readers because books one and two always have a cliffhanger ending. In Brenda's own words, "I write series that end in cliffhangers, because I love them. I always give away the first book in each series so you have nothing to lose by reading it."
She was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio and moved to SW Florida in 2006 with her husband Rex. They have a combined family, and she often jokes about not remembering what child belongs to who.
Boy oh boy am i sucker for a great love story. I can’t imagine living my life without my soulmate but that’s exactly what Grace did for 22 years after her husband died .Grace was just starting her life over when James entered it and she wasn’t looking for love . She was looking to breath and find her happy again. James is Parker’s dad (Graces daughter Sarah’s fiancé). I like James and i loved that it was an instant internet in her the first time he saw her. Side note: i wasn’t aware that ppl didn’t know what sea glass is ( I live in Long Island so I’ve known about it forever) guess it’s a live by the ocean thing ... Anyway the book was great just like i knew it would be. It touches on relevant topics that I’m very passionate about which made it even better. Five start review from me !!!
A place I want to live! Characters with so much love and depth that you start living right there on the island with them. Some twists and turns you don't expect, but makes it's so real! oh if I could only live in a book!! :) yet another great work by Brenda that you won't regret!!
Wow another great read by Brenda Kennedy, just as I knew it would be. Loved revisiting the island where all the characters are family and friends. And this story is not about young love and starting out. This story is about mature adults with grown children, finding love and happiness. Sure there are pit stops and trials getting to the end but the drama is what makes for a wonderful read. Although the books are not installments where you have to read in order, telling same story, they are connected, having same characters as family and friends. Now just waiting on next in series..Thank you Brenda for another wonderful story.
I absolutely loved this book! I always wait in anticipation for the next book. It is always worth the wait! I love your writing style and your books. Thanks for another great read! I am looking forward to the next one!
I loved getting back to Seashell Island, catching up with some amazing characters! This story is about Grace and James!! They have an instant attraction that neither acts on at first! It was nice to watch them fall in love after being alone for so long! When outside forces try to tear them apart apart will their love be enough to fight for?? A sweet, quick read that you will enjoy!

Thank you Brenda for another amazing book and for allowing me to read it early! I so enjoyed another book in this series and I just love how your books have so many emotions and feelings without all the foul language. Thank you for that!
Another amazing book by Brenda Kennedy. Getting back to Seashell Island was like going back to visit an old friend. I fell in love with Grace during the first book from the Island when she made an appearance to visit her daughter. It was wonderful to get to know Grace better and to watch her find love again especially with James. Grace and James are both funny and strong. I love how Brenda took a topic that is currently constantly in the media and showed another side. James and Grace had to deal with some difficulties while also trying to navigate a new relationship. The struggle was something that was easy to relate to in some ways and you are left cheering them both on.
Serious Brenda has done it again!!! Living on Seashell Island is an amazing book!! When Graces husband died when their girls were little, she never thought she would ever be able to move on. After deciding to move to Seashell Island to be closer to her girls, her parents bought her a shop that she could turn into her own. With life finally looking up and her life finally coming back to her, it doesn't feel like any thing could be more perfect. That is until she meets James, she shouldn't be looking at a man who will son become her daughters father in-law. But something about him intrigues her and she can't seem to get him out of her mind. Does he feel the same or is this even a good idea. Will she finally be able to move on from the death of her husband? Thank you again for continuing to let me Beta read for you, I appreciate more than you know!! You're truly amazing!!!
I just finished another Seashell Island book by Brenda Kennedy, Living on Seashell Island. Her characters are well developed and express real emotions. I laughed, I cried, and I became angry at the injustice one of the characters had to endure. I could not put this book down. From the moment I read the first paragraph, I was hooked again. What a great love story. I loved the first three books in the series, but this one hit home. Thank you, Brenda, for bringing Seashell Island alive. It’s my go-to place when my world is filled with chaos, and I need an escape.
Good characters, and storyline. It was a nice next book in this series. I do think that maybe some of this series could be consolidated into longer books, instead of shooter books.
