Four Kingdoms. No Heir. An Uncertain Future.
After an evil curse is cast upon the four corners of Syracuse, a vast country ruled by the Rothhaven family, maidens across the land suddenly become barren.
Years pass and the future of Family Rothhaven looks bleak, until eighteen-year-old Mariselle Langer wakes up one morning with cramps, a craving for chocolate, and a highly unexpected visit from Aunt Flow.
Upon realizing that his daughter is menstruating, Mariselle’s father approaches the leaders of the four kingdoms with the wonderful news. This sets off a chain of events which threaten to divide the Rothhaven brothers, who all desire her for themselves.
Meanwhile, Mariselle has her own ideas about whom she wishes to wed, which not only shocks the nation, but ultimately… saves it.

For fans of dark fantasy, mystical creatures, intrigue, and steamy romance... This is a REVERSE HAREM fantasy series. One woman and more than one male love interest
An okay second book in this trilogy, but I'm just not feeling like it's a RH. Main heroine Mariselle, has now slept with 3 of the 4 brothers in a one-on-one setting. Sure, she says she is in love with or falling for all 4 (one of whom she hasn't even seen in 10 years) but I'm not really even feeling that connection between any of them. To me, a RH has interaction between all the players, ideally with some MM action. I understand these are brothers and the MM is not likely to happen in this case, however some sort of menage could still be happening. That's what I feel is missing in the series, interaction between everyone - and not just in the bedroom. Hoping that book 3 brings everything together.
Part of this book is a little frustrating because we, the reader, know how to break the curse & how Mariselle can get pregnant, but the characters don't know. The problem could be resolved so quickly if she just banged all the brothers...which she is doing but slowly.
She sleeps with and falls in love with both Alexander and Zackary. The third and last book will see her paired with Matthias, the youngest brother (king).
This book mentioned people, mainly Mariselle, going to the bathroom a lot, which I found funny because in most books, the characters never use the bathroom.
There was also a hot sex scene that took place in the water next to a waterfall.
I loved this book!! I’m actually loving this trilogy and wish I didn’t have to wait until January for book 3, but it’ll be worth the wait!!
Mariselle has a lot to deal with. I mean I have trouble feeling too bad for her though. She has the hottest guys around falling at her feet! How bad can that be? Though I can understand the pressure of it all.
I was a little bummed that Griffin wasn’t in this book. He was my favorite in book one. I really can’t wait to see more of him in book three.
I’m not really sure about Alexander and Zackary. I just don’t see how this relationship stuff is going to work for them. Can they give up their playboy ways?
I’m so excited to finally meet Mathias! We haven’t meet him yet and I have a feeling that he’s going to be the perfect guy for Mariselle.
I cannot wait to see how the last book in this trilogy plays out! I NEED Four Heirs in my hands now!!!
I enjoyed reading Four Kings(The Rothhaven Trilogy Book 2)!!! All about Mariselle an eighteen year old maiden & The four Rothhaven Kings. The kings and Mariselle haven been friends their whole lives, as her dad worked for there dad King Edward. Due to a spell that was used to condem Syracuse a barren landscape, with no children or future heirs would be born into perpetuate!! The kingdoms residents are up in arms and want the kings to get the spell reversed. Read about Mariselle & the four Kings and see if she can be the kingdoms savior!!! Tons of emotions run throughout! It’s a page turner from start to finish!!! I can’t wait to read book three!!! Definite read!!!
What's not to like? Four hot, sexy kings and only one beautiful, fertile woman in the entire realm! I really feel for Mariselle. So much pressure to conceive, yet no child as yet. She's on brother number three and fights feeling cheap. She's fallen for both King Griffin and King Alexander, and it's her duty to help break Angelique's curse ... but at what cost? And what does it mean when her love includes King Zackary, too? The second installment of this trilogy is fast-paced and sexy. I can't wait to see how it ends!
Mariselle's story continues, as it becomes evident that she is the one who can break the curse over Syracuse. She meets up with the princes she knew as a child, now as Kings, and her adventures continue!
I'm not usually one for reverse harems, but this series has captured me. You can't help but love spunky Mariselle, and the handsome kings for that matter. I can't wait to see what Four Heirs has in store for them!
While story is still very interesting, this one was rather slower. I much prefer the Mariselle from book one who was feisty and strong. This one was like she progressed backwards. It was very well written. I loved Zack and his personality. He is this laid back kind of guy that fit perfectly with the story. It is interesting to see what is going to happen next.
There are not too many authors out there whom I want to read this genre type in but this is one of them I will. The story is there weaved into the fantasy that captures your attention. Mariselle and her kings will leave you breath less at times too. But do not think that is all there is when there is enough drama that will draw you in too. Now if the next one knocks Gaylen off his perch yahoo.
Loved the way the authors story is and brings us back to old times where things were proper on the outside but definitely not in the bedroom. Mariselle is testing and tasting all the waters but getting frustrated because she loves all the Kings. What will happen as we go to the last book? I can’t wait to find out!
So good it’s bad? I’ve actually been waiting on the second book for awhile now. I do like the story but the royal/historical-esq feel is a bit contrived. And I stand by my first review that the brothers are all dogs and don’t deserve Marielle. I’ll read the next because I HAVE to know how the curse is broken!
I just can't get past the story narration and the fact that the plot is her trying to get pregnant to break a curse. The writing just isn't a style I like. You may like narrated stories, but they bore me. I'm bored with this series. I'll read the last book just to finish the series, but I really don't care what happens right now.
Book 2 is everything I wanted it to be and more. This story has just the right amount of intrigue and drama while being hot and sexy!!! Love these characters and the story that is unfolding. Can’t wait for book 3!!!!
So I definitely like the series thus far. Mariselle is very back and forth about her feelings for the King’s. They all care fore her and she essentially cares for all of them but waiting to see how all of this plays out should be interesting.
Well the plot is progressing but there is no RH action yet. The male characters are a bit awful with other women at the same time as involved with our FMC which seems callous. It’s an alright, easy to read book and will finish off the trilogy.
This book is a good short read. I prefer a bit more action and a lot of suspense in the books I read but this has been a good series from the beginning.
I loved every part of this book. I couldn't put it down. I felt all of the emotion as I was reading and imagined being right there with Mariselle for her journey to break the curse. Each brother that she us with I fall on love with their live story. I hope in the next book we get to see more if Griffin, but I'm so excited to meet Mathias and see what he has to offer. I cant hardly wait for book 3 to come out. I could read this storyline for a long time.
Four Kings by C. J. Picard and Cassie Alexandra was fascinating. It is similar to a fairy tale but better. I loved it. The characters are all extremely well thought out.
Loved the story and how it takes you back in time. People need to act a certain way in public but not in the bedroom. Mariselle has a great time getting to know all the Kings but is frustrated still. Can’t wait to see what finally happens to everyone.
Great idea... Writing didn't pull it off properly though. Quite a few editing mistakes that were jarring. With a bit of polish this could be a great series
