HONOR—RESPECT—TRUST—LOVE

Among one of my favorite authors, Piper Stone is a storyteller that keeps me entertained with her larger than life characters, heart-stopping scenes, and in the midst of danger, there is a romance that burns hotter than the fires these Smokejumpers battle. I love the drama, the angst, the suspense, the passion, and the small town loyalty of the people in Missoula. The story will read well as a stand-alone, but it does have many key characters from previous stories that their stories intertwine with this one. Having read each one of these books, I was so happy to see Boone Martin’s story and the very special lady who comes into his life, Dr. Stasha Parker, veterinarian.

Boone Martin has some hidden talents that will be revealed in this story. He hails from Texas, and competed in the rodeo and won many competitions. He will decide to compete in tryouts along with his horse, Blaze, and qualify for the next round. Another secret that comes to light will be useful in his career with the Smokejumpers.

Dr. Stasha Parker left her life in San Francisco, California and had moved to Missoula, Montana when she needs a change in her life. She liked what she saw of the area, the beauty of the mountains, and has started her own veterinarian practice. She will be hired to work the two days for the rodeo advent making sure the animals are safe and be available for any injuries that could occur.

The plot will have Stasha and Boone meeting at the rodeo, and then again when he is woken by gunshots and goes next door to the neighboring ranch and finds Stasha rescuing abandoned puppies. He will convince her to follow him to his ranch and house the puppies overnight for her. There is a connection and attraction between these two.

The story will take on several harrowing scenes, including when there is a major fire at another horse ranch that has spread and the Smokejumpers are called in to assist. When the fire is out-of-control, and they are trapped, it becomes a life and death situation that they may not survive. The wives and girlfriends will wait together, and news will go from bad to good. It is a very emotional scene and realistic of the dangers these Smokejumpers face fighting forest fires.

Stasha has a past she is trying to escape, and then she has made new enemies at the rodeo, now she is getting threats. Trouble is coming and not knowing who the enemy is, makes it more difficult. Secrets she has kept from Boone will eventually come to light. Has her past caught up with her?

“We all have issues. We all have secrets.”

“Let’s just say that nightmares do exist. I wish I had your strength. Your belief.”

“Take my hand. I will be your lover, your protector and the man who keeps you safe. I will also be the man who provides the parameters you need. That is if you accept. Pain and pleasure. Anguish and ecstasy. They are very important.”

As with all of Ms. Stone’s books, she has an amazing way of keeping you guessing, sharing bits and pieces, giving you just enough information and allowing you to work on piecing the puzzle together. With this story, a local sadistic, arrogant family will eventually be revealed. The story, just like all the others, has plenty of mystery and suspense, with a sinister plot, evil-mastermind, plenty of fires, and even murders and attempted murder. The Jackals will be busy with fires that threaten the city and several of the neighboring ranches, including one of their own team members The story does have several spanking and explicit sex scenes, with an HEA ending.

I enjoyed this wonderful Christmas novella as the story of Jessica and Stoker continues while they try to plan their wedding. As careers interfere with their bliss they both say things that they wish they could take back later. Jessica has been supportive of Stoker and just wants to be given the same support when her career starts to come back together. While it can be a rollercoaster ride of emotions, there are some deep emotions flying around as well. This couple is still fairly new and learning to grow together, support each other, and build a life which can be a challenge when life takes over. However, the smokejumpers spend time together at work and in life as they support each other through the hard times and celebrate together during the good times. While Jessica is away taking care of her career and trying to make it back in time to spend Christmas with Stoker, the smokejumpers get a call to help out with a fire in a different area. Will Jessica make it back in time for their Christmas celebration and will Stoker make it out of the danger to get back to the women he loves. Watch the many characters of this series helping others at Christmastime and hoping for a miracle of their own. Come read and find out who will get their miracle.

The story is well written and the characters are developed. The author draws the reader in and has them sitting on the edge of the seat as they wait to see how the drama unfolds. While I wish there were more spankings, I can say that the sex scenes were erotic and the interaction between characters is wonderful. I highly recommend this book in the Missoula Smokejumpers series as well as the entire series. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

A quick read but packed full of emotions. Stoker and Jessica may be engaged but that doesn't mean they still don't have problems to work out. When she is called away to record, they argue and she leaves. I was a bit worried that these two wouldn't get back to each other but it's the Christmas season and you know miracles can happen. Will Stoker and Jessica get their miracle? I loved this little story and it will become a reread for me, even if it's not the holiday season.

I read this book as part of an arc program. I really enjoyed this book that was filled with danger and suspense. This was the fifth story about the Missoula Smoke Jumpers. In this book, Boone, a smoke jumper and former rodeo champion decides to try out for the rodeo again. When he meets the new vet, he thinks she is beautiful and full of spirit. He immediately gets the idea of spanking her. When Stasha moved to Missoula, she thought she would have a fresh start with opening her new practice after leaving a bad relationship. When she meets Boone, she thinks he is attractive, but she doesn't want a relationship. When Stasha is given a tip about abandoned puppies, she goes to find them and someone takes a shot at her. Boone hears the gunshot from his ranch next door and he goes to investigate thinking it is kids, but finds Stasha with the puppies. He takes her back to his place where the sparks fly. Boone wants to be with Stasha, but he won't push her until she is ready. Also, the pair try to find out who is out to get Stasha and who is responsible for starting fires and stealing horses. I really enjoyed this book, it had some steamy scenes and strong alpha males. I loved Boone, I thought he was a dominant male who love and protect who is important to him. Great one.

Wow, what a fabulous addition to this already great series! This book captivated my attention from the minute I picked up the book. This book focuses on Boone and Stasha. Boone seems to have several hidden talents that are revealed during his story, just as Stasha has hidden enemies from her past. The storyline took me on a rollercoaster ride with twists and turns that were woven in with a large range of emotions. With a mystery to solve that had me guessing who were the good guys, who were the bad guys, and who was just misunderstood along with the reason behind their actions never left a dull moment. This author seems to know just how to keep the reader on the edge of their seat with heart stopping moments, tears, cheers, family, friendships, love, spankings, and so much more! I can only say that this series just keeps getting better with each book. I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series for an amazing read! Piper Stone has continued her Missoula Smokejumper series with probably the best book of the series to date, Blaze. This story is about ex-rodeo rider Boone Martin and veterinarian Stasha Parker. If you are an animal lover, you may want to grab yourself a box of tissues. At times, this book can bring a tear or two to your eyes. Boone and the guys stumble into a horse theft ring with grave results.
Stasha is the new vet who has moved to Missoula after leaving a bad relationship. She hits the ground running when she sees horses being mistreated at the local rodeo. She meets Boone and their relationship is electric. But Stasha’s past and their present are colliding.
You just won’t be able to put this one down! Piper’s writing makes you laugh, cry, and pulls on your heart, but most of all, it’s simply amazing!

A great combination – a good mystery story, a love affair, and interesting characters who gradually reveal the difficulties of their past, which has made it hard for them to develop their relationship. Stasha has moved to Missoula to escape a cruel and violent lover; Boone came to become a smoke jumper and start his life over. They meet and quickly develop a strong and loving relationship which involves domestic discipline – but a large number of problems beset them and their friends, and create huge risks for both of them. It is a really good story, marred only, in my opinion, by a too quick and “pat” ending which could have used a little more explanation.

Solid 3.5 star
I felt this one didn't grab me as much as the others, you didn't really seem to get to know Boone and Stasha until way further into the book and I felt the scene with the brush and belt etc was way too soon and really aggressive when he doesn't really know her apart from the fact that she does like to be the submissive. There is some good conflict between them wanting each other but not wanting to go there as well as Boone wanting to be the Alpha she needs while working out what is going on with the horses and a good twist or 2 to keep you reading.

Blaze is book five of the Missoula Smokejumpers series. I do feel the series gets better and better. It might be because you meet many characters from the former books in every book or it is the hot men and the great storyline. As always, some scenes had me on the edge of the seat. I enjoy the action and mystery and who can withstand a dominant cowboy firefighter? I can't and therefore I do love this series.

Excellent. This series just keeps improving.

Boone and Stasha were so good together, and I loved her no nonsense attitude.

This story was well written. Full of excitement, suspense, romance, mystery, and intrigue. During one scene in the book, I didn't realize I had been holding my breath until I started to breath again.

I am thinking that this book might just be my favorite of the series.

A very hot romance with a bit of kink. Different and enjoyable read with great storyline and plot. The characters are well described and likeable. They have an attraction they cannot deny but can they make it work. She does not want a relationship but is that really what she wants?
A story about protecting the one you want and make her see that it can work. Steamy scenes, great passion, an emotional roller coaster with twists.
Story flows nicely and is worth the read.

This was about about a crazy family who was into to torture, burning, killing and setting fires. He was a cowboy and a smokejumper and he loved his horses. She was a vet with a past and someone wanted her dead. He wasn't going to allow that to happen. This is also about bdsm, which I'm not into.

Hot and sexy

I am a big fan of this Smokejumpers series, I liked them all. This story sucked me in and held me till the end, I liked this one best so far.
Blaze has everything . Romance, feisty females, hot dominant males, fires, murder, mayhem and hot sex scenes.
I would definitely recommend both this book as well as the series.

This is an interesting blend of unexpected contradictions. Boone and Stasha's characters were well written, but I wasn't such a big fan of the constant sound effects and found them a little distracting. The story and plot were good though, and I enjoyed the suspense and mystery mixed in with the steamy romance.

Piper's series just gets better and better. This story plot is emotional, suspenseful, erotic and at times lots of tension. This of course can be a standalone but I recommend all the books in this series in any order but please read them. I guarantee you will love them, especially this book if you love animals and alpha males.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS MAGIC?

Among one of my favorite authors, Piper Stone is a storyteller that keeps me entertained with her larger than life characters, heart-stopping scenes, and in the midst of danger, there is a romance that burns hotter than the fires these Smokejumpers battle. I love the drama, the angst, the suspense, the passion, and the small town loyalty of the people in Missoula. I laughed, I groaned, I fretted, and I cried, both tears of pain and fear, as well as joy and happiness. Have your tissues ready for this emotional addition to the series. The story will read well as a stand-alone, but it does have many key characters from previous stories that their stories intertwine with this one.

The plot will take place weeks before Christmas with Stoker and Jessica planning their first Christmas together, talking about the tree and lights, along with hopes and dreams. One phone call, which is critical for her music career, another trip to California, words spoken in anger, and you have two people saying foolish things, leaving each other upset. Is one person’s job more important than another?

“I. Save. Lives.”

“I know that. That’s why you’re a hero. I’m not. I’m just a lousy musician. I do nothing for this world but sing. Right?”

“That’s not what I meant.”

“Maybe we need some time apart. To think. To think hard. Don’t call me. I don’t want to hear from you. Understand?”

Just when you are feeling sorry for yourself, you learn that there is someone else out there, a long-time resident, who is facing a life and death crisis in their home. Christmas is the season for miracles and good cheer, and it is a wake-up call for these Smokejumpers to make a difference for a family.

Just as Jessica is due to come home, after a week delay, mother nature is sending in a nasty blizzard and travel is being shut down. The closest flight she can find is to Casper, Wyoming, but that is still nine hours from home. It will take a miracle and angel to help her make it home in time. Then to learn that the Jackals are out and missing in action is just more than she can handle.

The story brings the true meaning of Christmas and giving, making a difference, and bring people together. It is people going out of their way to help bring about Christmas cheer, and even making the impossible possible. You can’t give up; you have to have faith that the best is yet to come.

As with all of Ms. Stone’s books, she has an amazing way of keeping you guessing, sharing bits and pieces, giving you just enough information and allowing you to work on piecing the puzzle together. Seeing the miracles of Christmas added so much to this beautiful story. It is a reminder that you should be careful what you say to someone you love because words do hurt. The story does have some playful spankings and explicit sex scenes.

Great Holiday Story

Stoker and .Jessica's have been together for a few months. Her music career come back, has her taking calls at all hours and traveling frequently to California. Stoker doesn't handle it well, when she is called away a few weeks before Christmas, he lashes out.
Jessica loves Stoker, but his anger and lashing out are taking a toll. She used her trip to give them both some space. One week turns to two. Jessica is determined to get home for Christmas. She has a special gift for her man. Their is a lot standing in the way. Blizzards, a fire, missing jumpers and a big man named Dawson, who believes in Christmas magic.
Fast paced and a little steamy, holiday romantic drama, with a little domestic discipline.

This is a fun and sweet novella with our couple from the first novel in Piper Stone’s Missoula Smoke Jumper series, Stoker and Jessica. Jessica’s career is taking off and she has to go to Los Angeles. Stoker is not very happy, and they end up deciding to give each other some space.
Meanwhile, the guys decide to help out a local citizen who has a sick child and can’t afford treatment or Christmas.
Jessica has to rush home for Christmas, and between Stoker’s job and the weather, things get hairy, But Christmas is a time for miracles, and Embracing the Quiet Night is all about the wonder and love of the Holidays! You’ll love it!

Embracing the Quiet Night is the third book of the Missoula Smokejumpers series. There is action, suspense, heart stopping moments and an intriguing plot. Jessica and Stoker do have great chemistry, the spankings were enjoyable and the intimate moments held the right amount of spice for my taste. My feelings were all over the place while reading the story, sometimes I wanted to hug, and sometimes I wanted to strangle the characters. My summary: I loved the story.

What a wonderful Christmas miracle!

Stoker and Jessica have overcome so much in their short relationship. Now, it’s their first Christmas and she has to jet off to LA for her record contract and Stoker isn’t happy. Jessica takes off and she and Stoker aren’t on good terms. Will this be the end for them?
This was such a great book I read it twice! It is very sweet and just a reminder that Christmas is a time of magic and love! This is a great series and a wonderful read!

Sweet Christmas Miracle

Stoker and Jess got into due to her recording contract. Words ensued and they were separate. Add in a fire, a sick boy and a mystery man and you have a great story. I should also mention that when the loving is good, it’s great. I would definitely recommend.
