Planet Kill

Rate this book
A planet where all is televised, where loot acquisition is determined by levels, and where viewers can bid on your next move. Want to ascend to live among the elites on paradise planet? Accept insane bids, build your harem, and prove you have what it takes. Letha was taught by the best, and now she's risen up to be close to ascent. If she plays her cards right, she can escape this crazy place to live a life of luxury on one of the paradise planets. She has her generals and a small army to help achieve her dreams. But when her enemies team up and friends betray her, she'll have to think outside the box if she hopes to one day live among the elites. If that's all it was, maybe it wouldn't matter, but for her it's so much more. For her, its a mission of justice. And then Pierce comes along. A special agent with his own agenda, he might be the key to Letha's success... if she can get him to play along. This book contains blood and adult content, poly harems and reverse harems, and very adult situations (to the extreme). You might cringe, you will laugh, and hell, you might even cry. We refuse to apologize for any of it.

If I read this book when I was 15 and had no idea the kinds of sexuality portrayed in this book then I might have liked it better. As it was, I found the whole book rather juvenile, with shallow characters, poor backstory, and little to recommend it other than for the sex and violence.

Granted I expect to leave my brain at the door when reading this sort of book, but the characters are so shallow that I do not care enough about them to bother reading the next book. About the only character that I could empathize with was Grinder's poor lizard - the rest of the characters I could less for.

If you want something to read with a lot of good combat and fairly decent if unimaginable sex, then this book might be for you. While I don't think this book quite strays into the word porn genre, there is little substance here other than the sex and violence.

The plot is rather linear, the characters shallow and with no complex feelings or goals (other than sex, food, more loot, more sex, more power, etc.) and the plot is quite predictable. I correctly guessed who Pierce's wife was the first time. It was a rather blatant plot tool.

Dialogue between the characters is quite good, and flows smoothly. Despite a decent size cast of characters I never lost track of who was speaking to whom. The action and combat scenes are quite well described, but lacked some creativity. In SciFi, there was a whole realm of weapons that could have appeared in the story without unbalancing it.

For such an advanced society, the ships and weapons used by the characters were rather mundane. The protection of the planet seemed a little thin, and I thought of a few ways that crime syndicates could sneak weapons and drugs on to the planet. I would imagine that organized crime outfits would have been all over this planet and the opportunities it offered.

The characters are not described enough, nor are they complex enough for me to invest in them. I couldn't care what happens to the characters which means that I am not going to buy the next book in this series and would likely not buy another book from the authors.

It's Ok

First of all, if you are looking for a harem book this is not it,half of the time it felt like an angry orgy and the other half is just sexual manipulation. Then we have the nightmare in which the book jumps points of view, often times for no other reason than to write a sex scene scene. This would be alright if it didn't feel like there were so many plot holes in the story and missing information that could have fleshed out the world they are trying to build. The first half of the book is just one of the main characters trying to get to the planet while the other one just makes every mistake possible. The second half just feels rushed and is hard to follow honestly. The idea is fantastic, the execution is just ok. It's not anything to write home about and if you have a series that you are already invested in i would recommend you put this one on the back for for now.

Did not finish.
Stopped at Chapter 9 (27%) finally tired of every character in the book so far. I couldn't reach the suspension of disbelief needed for the world setting and I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that many of the cast had been written based on well known Hollywood actors and actresses and their typecast.
I wasn't expecting much when I spotted this book and honestly even then I felt let down.

Planet Kill - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Letha may be one letter short of Lethal in her name, but that's the only thing she could change, to warn opponents on the eponymous Planet Kill of what it means to get on the wrong side of her, in this exciting reverse harem story in the fabulous Planet Kill series, by Master of Harem Sci-fi, Jamie Hawke.

Having survived 5 years, first as an unwilling newbie and worked her way up to be Alpha female of her male harem of generals, is an unbelievable fact in itself. The reality that she's now a star player with her own 'army' of fighters, willing to die for her, or 3 lusty generals ready to satisfy her in any way her heart - or the viewers' bids - desires, is absolutely awesome!
To reach higher levels and better weapons in this GameLit fantasy, Letha must destroy enemies Fireshot and Grindr, while seeking new allies, in Aero and his 'nurses' and later Pierce. The latter seeks his wife who abandoned him off planet, to come to Planet Kill voluntarily, while he endured his existence as a government Agent with the use of a trio of 'sexbots' to console him, left far behind.
Can the lovelorn Pierce find Mara - and will he recognise her when he does? Can Letha survive Reckoning Day and Fireshot's deadly maneuvers and live (and love) to tell the tale? You'll love the answers - and the action!!

Entertaining!!!

I have never read anything by Sebastian Wilde, as far as I know. So that being said, I really enjoy his book and look forward to reading more. It has everything. Sex, action, and more... It is an easy read, and very enjoyable. The wife loves it too... So Sebastian has new fans...

Lots of action in this one. Some erotic scenes and more action. A good story plot. In other words the authors did a fantastic job of keeping me glued to the pages. After reading this and Psychobitches: Tear it Up I have several reasons to keep reading. I need answers to the questions about Letha.

Hunger Games grows up!

A good mixture of action ,violence and sex.
The story is well written and has a smattering of humour that sits nicely with the action and sex. Ready for book2!

A fun romp that also makes you think

Combo of Hunger Games and erotic literature that hits many cultural taboos and crushes them under its boots. May not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I found it to be excellent ADULT literature and a good story.

This was a quick but good read! It was awesome to finally read a book about planet Kill considering the fact that I’ve read other books mentioning it.

first i thought the background story is just a vehicle to transport some sex and battle scenes but there is quite nice story arc and good hunting tension in it.

I actually enjoyed this pretty well. There were a few remarks that seemed like they were just thrown in for shock value or whatever but for the most part, it was enjoyable. The plot was decent and it was fast paced. I probably could have read it in one sitting had I not been doing most my reading at work.
