This is book #6 in the series & was all about Bones Jr & Vanessa and I floved every word. It was action packed with twists and turns. Bones is seeking revenge for his Mother's death by looking for the guy who killed her. The chemistry between these two was so hot and real. The way they cared and needed each other was what did it for me with this book. They have a twisted captor and victim (if you can call it that) relationship that just works for them. There is a cliffhanger. I can't wait until the next book. Amazing series.

Wow, this book was way better than the previous one! A lot more exciting. And oh my god! Bones told his name and told Vanessa he loved her 😩 I was so dissapointed with her reaction. But I saw it coming though. I really want to know right know what her parents and Conway will say about this. She has to tell them eventually, because she probably will end up with Bones anyway. But we will see. On to the next one 🎉

El giro que dio está historia fue OMG sin dudas se conoce mucho más a los protagonistas; la intensidad , pasión y lujuria que comparten junto con la necesidad de encontrarse en ellos mismos es un boom! para mí corazón. Hay parte en Dónde me imaginaba otra cosa o esperaba lo peor pero menos mal que no pasó uff! Pero igual , cómo terminó nos da una idea de lo que va a ser después

L'histoire évolue petit doucement entre Vanessa et Bones, honnêtement, j'aime bien, mais je m'attendais à mieux au vu des critiques de beaucoup de chroniqueurs. La romance est bien , mais sans plus. Cela dit, clairement, je vais continuer la saga, car l'univers des Barsetti ne peut pas être coupé comme ça. Ce qui est bien, c'est que l'on suit également le reste de la famille ; comme Crow et Pearl, mais aussi Conway et Saphire, même si cela reste minime.
La tension sexuelle est toujours aussi forte, mais il faut dire que c'est la force de l'auteure ; elle est capable de donner chaud en moins de temps qu'il faut pour le dire. J'espère qu'il y aura un peu plus de rebondissements pour la suite, car sinon, j'ai un peu peur de m'ennuyer.

These two are in way too deep with each other and it’s going to come at price. One will kill the other, one will lose everything they hold dear for the other, one will get captured and tortured because of the other. Nothing good can come of this relationship, yet they only feel safe with each other, they only feel like there’s good in the world with each other. And their connection grows more every day.

In this second book of Vanessa and Bone’s story, we get to see more and more of what their lives become as they evolve what they are to each other. We know that Bones has this vendetta against everyone who’s done him wrong, the Barsettis and now this man that he’s discovered as being the one who murdered his mother. Again there’s no good that can come out of the path he’s going down.

We can hope that the innocence, the power and the logic that Vanessa brings to the mix will talk him off his ledge, but that’s an impossible task and one that they are resigned to deal with. When Bones sets his mind on killing Joe – the man who killed his mother, he knows hes’ walking into a death trap, Joe Perditto is more powerful than most, is surrounded by guards, is always prepared. No one is able to talk him down from going, and it ends badly. he isn’t successful in the hit, and it’s brought unwanted attention to him, and puts him on Joe’s radar. When joe comes to Bone’s house, gains access somehow and goes through with executing him, Vanessa is left in a position where she can get her freedom back or fight. We all know which she chooses.

The challenge in this story for Vanessa is that she’s fighting everything that she feels internally. This is usually the problem that our leading man has, so it’s nice to see the switch here. She won’t admit how deep her feelings are for Bones, yet she protects him, she fights for him, she only feels safe with him and everything she actually feels comes out in her art. Her mom notices this and confronts her about it, but she’s not willing to admit it out loud.

The dynamic between these two changes throughout this story. Bones continues to give Vanessa her freedom (in a sense) but they can’t live without each other. They try to put space and distance between each other because what they are feeling is too fast and furious to be comfortable with, but they always end up together. Bones fears what this will do to his life and reputation and Vanessa knows that she has no future because of how her family feels.

Where we are at the end of this book is a path that no one wants. or do they? Feelings have been vocalized, people have been pushed away and a new relationship is in the early stages. The question becomes whether that will change everything for the better or if there’s more turmoil to come. Will the blood war continue and will anyone be safe? We know that Bones has a plan to take down Conway and Sapphire, and it’s only a matter of time before Vanessa finds those tracks.

The constant here is the need that they have for each other to feel safe and secure. It manifests itself the same as it did at the onset, in intense passion and heat in a way that we haven’t seen it before among the other couples. They fit together perfectly and fight each other in a way that compliments one another. I can’t wait to see how their story plays out since there’s no happy ending for everyone here.

Holy hot Griffin Bones! Their story just keeps getting better.

This series right here, especially Griffin and Vanessa's story defines the evolution of Penelope Sky as an author. Now that the hate-love part is established we're slowly moving into my next favorite sub-genre for our protagonists: ANGST! And boy there's soooo damn much angst in their love story, this second installment was just the beginning of it.

Having battled over their own feelings and defeatedly accepting their addiction for each other, Vanessa and Bones are now entering the territory of battling their feeling for each other while being aware of the reality and overcoming external obstacles. One of them, a big one, is going to be Vanessa's family.

Like I said, this is just the beginning of their angst. Prepare yourself for a hot, frustratingly delicious ride of hot passion born in vain that will still try it's damnest to not only survive but flourish despite every known character, including the protagonists themselves, try to drown it.

Loved this book so much...
The relation is slow burn but their chemistry, their connection the way they are are fighting the feelings... Made me so fuzzy inside!
The way they are so sincere and honest with each other!

Vanessa is still a great h and a strong women! She took care of "troubles" and didn't bat a lash!
Bones evolution is amazing... He knows when to push and when to step back! He is willing to change his life and propose to be with her!!!

Again in this book i needed more action, more story developing... I was hoping that her family find out to put some pressure in their relationship! Read this book in 2hours! Was gripping!

Four "really liked it" stars

Another strong entry in this series!

I am still here for the angst and chaos between Bones (Jr.) and Vanessa. Oh, but it is delicious. He is so broken, so alone. Not unlike a stray, abused dog that doesn't trust anyone enough to get close. He acts like he doesn't need anyone, but at the end of the day, even people who hate people still need someone. Vanessa is obviously his someone. And he is hers. She is too strong of a woman to be with just any average guy. It will take someone even stronger than her to keep her interest, or she will chew them up and spit them out.

That said, they are both idiots when it comes to relationships. They refuse to acknowledge what they have, and do what needs to be done so they can be together. Their problems are not insurmountable, but damn they can't seem to pull themselves together.

And it sure makes for some enjoyable reading, let me tell you. 🙂

Je n’arrive pas à mettre plus que 3 étoiles, car je n’ai pratiquement rien retenu de ce livre. Pas vraiment une histoire intéressante entre nos deux personnages. À part leurs ébats, il n’y a rien d’autre. Je trouve qu’il y a seulement eu 2/3 actions, mais pas plus. J’aime toujours Vanessa et sa façon d’interagir envers Bones et envers sa famille, MAIS je sens que la suite risque d’être plus coriace. La fin m’a donné envie d’en savoir plus, j’espère que le prochain tome va rattraper tout ça.

¡¿OS PODÉIS CREER QUE HE LEÍDO ESTE LIBRO EN MENOS DE 5 HORAS?! Llevo 15 libros leídos de esta autora y debo admitir que los libros de Vanessa y Bones están siendo de mis favoritos. Este libro ha descrito a la perfección lo que es un enemies to lovers. Mientras lo leía estaba asustada porque estaba clarísimo que poco a poco iba naciendo el afecto y el cariño entre ellos pero estaba ese temor de qué serían capaces de hacer porque ambos se odiaban. O al menos Vanessa tenía que matarlo porque le convenía salvar a su familia y Bones odiaba a Vanessa y a todos los Barsetti por haber matado a su padre y a su vez hacer que perdiera su herencia y así muriese su madre al prostituirse.

Bones cada vez me gusta más. Es un tipo frío, calculador, casi sin empatía pero gracias a Vanessa he podido ver su lado afectuoso y he podido sentir que tenía algo de empatía hacia Vanessa. He podido sufrir con él por su pasado y por ver lo solo que estaba. Pero opino lo mismo que Vanessa, esta solo porque quiere. Podría dejar todas las venganzas atrás pero prefiere vivir en el pasado y dejarse matar con estupidas venganzas que no le traerán a su madre de nuevo. Que por cierto, cuando le rompen de su madre sentí que iba a llorar. Es su último recuerdo de ella y me dio mucha pena. Y ahora que he mencionado ese momento me gustaría hablar de ello porque ha sido una parte muy importante de este libro. Cuando Vanessa al principio intenta ayudarlo ofreciéndose a Seducir a Joe para que Bones pueda matarlo me lo olía venir e incluso llegué a pensar que lo haría a sus espaldas, pero me alegrará que al final no lo hiciera porque nos regaló esa increíble escena en la que Vanessa mata a 4 tipos disparándole con una escopeta en ropa interior y gracias a ella Bones consigue cumplir uno de sus venganzas. Ah, y me sigue dando rabia que a pesar de que le debía a Vanessa esa venganza no fuera capaz de dejar a la familia Barsetti.


Vanessa por otra parte me encanta. Creo que es muy distinta a las anteriores protagonistas que he leído de esta autora. Es cierto que todas las protagonistas de Penelope suelen ser con muchísimo carácter y valientes pero llegan a tener ese punto de sumisión. Con Vanessa casi no lo veo. Desde el primer momento se la ve una persona que hace las cosas porque quiere y no porque la obliguen. Es una persona valiente y con un par de ovarios. Amo cada bofetón que le dio a Bones JAJAJAJJAJAJA y Dios, verla ser tan territorial con Bones fue maravilloso. La amo. Y aunque al final me puse muy triste y enfadada de que Vanessa tratara mal a Bones y lo echara de su vida solo porque le dijo que estaba enamorado de ella (que eso es algo que amo de este libro porque es innovador) siento que es realista. A fin de cuentas ella sabe que estar enamorada del hijo del hombre que mató a su tía y violo a su madre no es muy bueno. Sabe que su familia intentará alejarlo de él y que empezarán una nueva guerra de sangre y ella aunque piense que no, estará en el medio. Ama a Bones, de eso estoy segura. El problema es que veo que tienen muchos obstáculos en el camino. Tengo miedo de lo que pasará en los siguientes libros cuando se enteren los Barsetti…

Vanessa est déboussolée. Perdue. Tiraillée entre des sentiments contradictoires : elle hait Bones, elle aimerait le voir mort, et en même temps elle ne peut pas se résoudre à le tuer. La raison ? Aucun homme ne hante ses pensées comme lui. Aucun homme ne lui fait le même effet que lui, elle ne veut que lui à présent. Elle sait qu’il va la tuer, qu’il va tuer sa famille, mais c’est plus fort qu’elle : elle s’est attachée à son charisme, à sa noirceur, à cette relation malsaine, passionnée et torride qu’ils ont. La mort tutoie leur vie chaque jour, à chaque moment !

Entre eux, il n’est pas question d’amour mais de compatibilité sexuelle. Enfin, c’est ce que Vanessa et Bones essaient (ou arrivent ?) de s’en convaincre.

Il faut dire la vérité : il ne se passe pas grand-chose dans ce tome-ci. Et lorsque les rebondissements arrivent, c’est carrément surréaliste ! Heureusement, dans la seconde moitié de son roman, Penelope Sky entre dans le vif du sujet : Bones est en plein questionnement, il doit choisir entre Vanessa et son désir de vengeance en tuant sa famille. Il sait qu’il doit forcément renoncer à l’un des deux. La magie Penelope Sky a opéré : j’ai enfin réussi à rentrer dans le roman ! Ces deux personnages tourmentés me touchent énormément, c’est une dark romance spéciale qui vaut le détour pour ceux qui aiment ressentir les émotions au diapason des personnages.

Évidemment, la fin est frustrante. Encore plus lorsqu’on se rend compte qu’il faudra attendre deux tomes pour avoir la fin de l’histoire qui leur est dédiée ! Vient donc encore une fois la question du rapport qualité/prix : il faudra 4 tomes d’environ 250 pages pour connaître le dénouement, lorsqu’on sait que certains passages sont très longuets, cela remet en question mon envie de poursuivre cette saga qui revient cher ! Je finirai l’histoire de Vanessa et Bones car j’ai complètement adoré leur histoire, mais je ne continuerai probablement pas. Dommage car j’adore la plume et l’imagination de Penelope Sky mais j’ai un peu le sentiment d’être un porte-monnaie sur pattes… (surtout lorsqu’on tombe sur des coquilles ou erreurs de traduction).

I could never stand books where men could physically or mentally inflict pain on the heroine- and although this book if not the series so far, do cover those certain trigger warnings as well as the heroines having consensual non-consent sexual relationships with the hero... I love this series. I devoured three books in under 24 hours and I feel like trash but Idec. Basically, this review is just me gushing about how I feel over the series so far. If I wasn't trying to force myself to sleep so I could wake up early the next day, I'd be reading the 8th book by now- and I'm only halfway through book seven. Anyways, I wanted to point out that out of all Ms. Sky's couples, I love this couple the best so far. It was so freaking worth it. The amount of kilig and tension I felt over the last two books I've read was- *chef's kiss. I haven't read the Buttons and Lace series but I kinda already knew who Bones Sr. was from the Scotch series and even then I knew how vicious Bones Sr. was. I could not have been more relieved and overjoyed Bones Jr. is nothing like the man he calls his father. Vanessa.. although I never thought of her much from the first four books, the fifth book completely blew me away. Vanessa has a great personality! If Bones Jr. didn't fall in love with her, I'm pretty sure I would lol. I could not recommend this series enough for romance readers who love a dark kick-ass plot to their books.

Tenía muchísimo pero muchísimo que no me enganchaba una serie así. Tengo los ojos ya casi rojos por no poder parar de leer jajaja pero LOS AME!...siento que ya soy parte de la familia Barsetti y casi lloro por haberlos terminado...

Estos libros son continuación de la serie de BOTONES pero 30 años después ya que tratan de los hijos... En los 15 libros es la misma historia lineal pero se van agregando los personajes y van contando sus historias..la historia es buenísima, llena de acción, sexo, hombres poderosos, protectores y mujeres fuertes e independientes... definitivamente mis personajes favoritos fueron las parejas de Vanessa-Bones y de Carmen-Bosco (se llevan casi toda la serie)... los amé...la historia de Conway (con él empieza el libro #1) estuvo buena y la de Carter no fue mi favorita, como que su historia estuvo solo en un libro y no me creí de todo la historia de amor de ellos, sobre todo de parte de ella pero bueno, dura tan poquito que las demás te absorben por completo.

le doy un 100 a esta serie y espero que todas tengan oportunidad de leerla porque es de lo mejor que he leído en mucho tiempo.

July 3rd why so far away!! 😩😩😩

After reading this book I think Vanessa has a lot of growing up to do. So much confusion on her part. She acknowledges her feeling with Griffin a.k.a (Bones). Yes he finally revealed his real name. First name anyway. And she refuses to admit to herself that she loves him too? I wanted to reach my hand in those pages and slap the s*** out of her when she was throwing her tantrum. I would die if a guy did the things that he did for Vanessa. Actions speak louder than words. I wished her mom did meet up with him. As for Griffin, I think he should just go to Crow without Vanessa’s knowledge and have a one on one with him. I can see Crow spatting at Bones that he isn’t man enough for his daughter. That is when Bones throws down with Crow man to man and fight it out as proof, that if he can take Crow down (not kill him) just take him down in like a wrestling match and win. To prove that he is strong enough, therefore man enough for Vanessa. Idk how this will play out...but I can’t wait to find out!! Team Griffin!!! 🤗🤗

I can’t get enough of these Barsetti’s! This is book 6 in the next generation and this book continues a new couple. I still advise it is good to know the background of the prior books as it does have spoilers for the prior books.

This story is so unexpected. I mean we should hate Bones, right? But somehow we don't. Can I dare say that I'm hoping Vanessa stays with him?!?! Yes he is dark and twisted, but considering his past you can't blame him. There are a few times that you think it's going to be the end for one of them and there is a shift where they are comfortable with each other and clicking in the bedroom and in everyday life. Overall it was a rollercoaster ride and it kept me turning the pages.

I am on the edge of my seat to see what happens next.

Overall, I did enjoy the Lingerie series, probably because I'm a sucker for alpha males (in books, let's be clear :p). However, these books had too many mistakes, too many repetitions, sometimes a paragraph was placed twice in the same book, a whole paragraph! How does that even happen??? I felt like the author thought I was stupid or had a very bad memory because she kept repeading why the characters were attracted to each other, why they couldn't be together, why it was wrong to love each other, etc. Writing four books for the same couple is just absurd and unncessary here, one book for one story would have been enough!
Also the characters had the same way of talking, the same personnalities, the author literally toke the same characters but changed their physics and their background story a little bit and bam she had a new book.

However, I feel like this series could have some potential if she made it shorter, worked on her characters and had an editor (because I guess she doesn't have one?).
