**Author Note** IWL has had a makeover inside and out!
Nothing about the story has been changed, just given a nice spring clean of slight errors.

♡Today’s love doesn’t always have to look like yesterday’s love ♡

Book 1 in a set of 2.

Falling in love with your best friend is so cliché and old as time.
I’m just a southern girl in New York.
I never imagined I’d meet my soulmate.

And not a big deal like Noah Fierro. He’s the classic type A personality with a side order of brusqueness. Far too handsome and a magnetism I was swept up in.

And … we’re both into guys.

Curve ball, right? Tell me about it. I was crushed.
But he’s my person. My bestie.

And I need to ditch my enormous crush for good.

What if a friendship is so consuming it supersedes conventionality?
We have love. But will my heart be broken?

I’m Sena Black and is he … Straight-for-me?

Disclaimer: Due to this book being part of a duet series the story does have one of those big ole stonking TO BE CONTINUED endings. BUT book two comes right after!

I write steamy, emotionally driven contemporary and MC romance, featuring tough-as-nails alpha men who only show their soft side for their person.

My books are packed with dirty talk, detailed sex scenes, and swoony, slow-burn chemistry that explodes. I lean into dark-lite themes, sometimes forbidden tropes, but I always deliver that satisfying, well-earned HEA.

Currently, I’m riding with bikers and bad boys—but one day I’ll be bringing you the dirtiest, most seductive vampire in paranormal romance.
If you love intense love stories, broken characters, and men who love hard and fight harder, I’ve got something for you. 🖤

Oh Noah Noah Noah... and Sena

This is not only the first book that I read by this author, but it’s the first book that I read that is of this trope, style, subject. I was addicted from the first page LOL and couldn’t consume it fast enough.

So Noah and Sena have been best friends for years now; four years ago they met. Everything is great, except for the fact that Noah is gay and Sena is basically in love with him. Their relationship is a close one, well, they ARE best friends. They have keys to each other‘s homes, they spend a lot of time together, they eat together, and are extremely close. I loved her perspective because we got to feel and see every little touch from Noah and every little flutter that she felt whenever he did. Because they’re so close, they’re very comfortable around each other and have a lot of intimate gestures and touches that would make it seem as if they’re together as a couple, but because he’s gay, it’s almost like it’s okay for it to be happening since there are no romantic feelings involved. However, she has been looking at him differently a lot lately, so every gesture, touch, look, caress, whisper gives her butterflies in her stomach and her heart rate accelerates. They are each other’s constant, their reliable person, their ride-or-dies 🥰❤️sigh- swoooon!

One Day, it all changes, and it was glorious. Before it happened though, I felt the tension, the chemistry, the connection between them, and I couldn’t wait until they finally crossed the line. Sena has been in a dry spell for a while and has been wanting to hook up with somebody, but somehow or another, she backs out and doesn’t follow through. Noah convinces her to not do anything stupid, regardless, so she ends up not doing anything with anyone. The day it all changed was when they were laying down watching a movie like they’ve done a gazillion times before and things got heated (the movie definitely set the mood). Once they crossed the line, there was no turning back. In fact, she tried to avoid him, but the elephant in the room and the visceral sexiness between them didn’t allow them to ignore it any longer.

Oh man. Noah’s dirty mouth is 🥵🔥. No wonder Sena couldn’t resist him! It was raw, sexy, gritty and primitive. I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough. Dear Lord, sweet jeeeezus it was good! In the back of Sena’s mind, she wonders what they are, what is REALLY going on with them, and it DOES end in a cliffy for a reason. I can’t wait to read book 2.

Thank you V. Theia for writing this book!! The title embodies their situation... loved it.

⚠️safety squad⚠️ (based on my memory- which means I should reread to remember it all lol)
-no cheating/sharing/owd/omd
-I *think* the h might’ve gone on a date with OM early in the book, before h and H do anything physical

Beyond awful

What the actual f*ck. I took a break from CR and just reading in general for a few reasons - this car crash of a book being one of them.
I should have known better than to chance it, but the blurb touched something close to home for me and I was curious to see how it was handled.
The answer is badly. Ineptly. Ignorantly, even.
Within the first few pages things already seemed headed in a direction I didn't want, but I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt - hoping that maybe the heroine - and the story - would gain more depth in time.
More fool, me.

The heroine, Sena, is kind of awkward and scattered, a computer geek who is best friends with the hero, Noah. Noah has his shit together and is quite the package. He's a self-made millionaire at 32, gorgeous, stylish and a little grumpy and rude. He is also gay. Not bi, not curious, just gay. Uncompromisingly, fully, 100% homosexual. He was kissing boys at age 6 and has never been with a woman.
So, Sena has feelings for him that are beyond friendship and yes, it happens - but not as portrayed here. The writer wasn't going for accuracy or realism here, she was going for porn. This book was about sex and sex only. This is not, by any stretch, a love story. Sexual chemistry is not love and it takes more than lust to build a relationship. Wanting to be with someone must be based on more than how they look. The h was sex-crazed and pathetic over the H and was pretty embarrassing IMHO. The book is mostly her internal dialogue on how she wants to shag him, how hot he is, how sexy, how perfect, his arse, his bulge, his voice, blah, blah, blah. He is so objectified there is little clue of who he actually is as a person.
Eventually H and h wind up in the sack and sadly for anyone hoping for depth, the scene is filth. Not even GOOD filth either, but over-the-top trite and meaningless. Instead of trying to sensitively portray what it might be like for a gay man in this circumstance, the writer took the pedestrian route.
Of course, a queer guy who has never touched a woman is going to be PERFECT the first time having sex with one.
Of course he's going to know EXACTLY how to please her.
Of. Course. He. Is.
Of course, he's not going to have ANY conflicting feelings or confusion afterwards. Nope.
And the two of them are going to shag like bunnies all night long and OF COURSE a smart, sensible woman isn't going to have unprotected sex with a sexually active GAY man, right?
Think again.
If that wasn't enough, there is a part 2 to this minging crap fest because of the 'heroine misunderstands something and runs away like an immature twat only to find out that - OOPS - she's pregnant' trope.
No bloody thanks.

Last but not least is the illiterate fashion in which this book is written. It's been a while since I've seen an editing fail of this caliber. There is no concept of tense here. Present and past were repeatedly treated as interchangeable often in the same sentence. Abuse of adverbs/adjectives, incorrect word usage, incorrect sentence structure, unnatural dialogue - you name it, you'll find it.
My 13 yo son has better understanding of proper grammar and language arts and as an aspiring writer himself, writes circles around this published 'writer.'
I have done quite a bit of free-lance editing myself. I am also an intelligent woman. Therefore, I find it insulting and disrespectful to readers for a writer to put out substandard work. It galls me that they get paid for it.
If being more discriminating means I miss worthy material lost in the sea of rubbish similar to this, so be it. It's worth it to save myself the grief.

Ten million gorgeous queer stars

And bonus trillion stars for kitten and lion

You'd be remiss for thinking It Was Love was your typical friends to lovers romance. It's not. It's something more and absolutely addictive reading from page one.

You have the uber smart and witty southern girl transplanted to NY city where she met and befriended a standoffish rich gay nightclub owner. And it's their friendship that set this book on fucking fire!

description

I was enthralled and mooning my eyes out over how attentive and funny and gorgeous Noah and Sena were around each other.

With any friends to lovers romance you want the friendship to be more than just two people who know each other. I want that distinct bond of two people who adore each other in their platonic way.

What sets this book aside is Sena is completely in love with Noah and has been for years and her unrequited love is so pure and funny at times but she is also dedicated to Noah despite wanting love and romance of her own. That poor girl's heart wanting the gorgeous queer. She made me laugh so many times.

And Noah. Fucccccck. There was no more attentive, chivalrous friend than him.

I've read a ton of MM books where two friends fall for each other. One is usually out and the other is the straight friend who starts to fall for his buddy. It Was Love is the opposite of that. The gay catches straight feelings and I FREAKING LOVED IT!

It wasn't forced and didn't feel wrong. I was wholly behind the story line the entire time and the premise of can a gay man fall in love with the friendship and soul of his friend first was just beautiful.

description I fell in love with a beautiful friendship.

I can't wax on enough about how good it is to get a sexting scene right. Theia banged that shit out of the motherchucking park! Noah blew my head off and all that was left was my mushed brain and hot, hot steam. Man, he was gorgeous. And dirty. So, so dirty

description

I need book 2 right now. Because fuck that fucking cliffhanger ending. Omg!! There was a lovely surprise towards the end. I won't spoil, but it hit me in the heart with feels.

If you love friends to lovers. If you love epic connections between the H/h then you definitely need this. Theia so far is known only for hot sexy bikers. She can add another trope to her winning pile because I am in love with Sena and Noah!

description love is love. For all its power, it didn’t recognize sexuality. Love sees only in colors of chemistry from another person who were already destined to be a part of you. It understands pounding blood and rushing sensations in the heart, and never the conformity of reason. Love is love. Whatever form it comes in. You can’t pigeonhole love because it will punch its way out.

PS. There's also a sexy af antagonist called Tom. You are welcome.

ARC from the author.

My first thought on this book is I need the next one immediately. I cannot explain how invested I am again in this book. V has a way of making me fall in love with the characters it took around 4 hours to devour this book and I was telling her straight away how much I loved it.

Sena- is a funny and smart girl what more could I ask for. She is no fool but she is in love with a gay man. A man who she would give him anything he wanted- we have all been there right that one man we would give our all to. The ending I wanted to hold her and shake her at the same time because Noah loves her so much. It defies logic but isn’t that what love it?

Noah- the King Of Manhattan. I have so many things I need to say about him but I think I will reserve that for the next book [V that is a hint for you to send me the second - I joke- I don’t okay maybe a little] he is what Sena needs and she is exactly what he needs and the last few moments when it’s his chapter I couldn’t help but scream that he needed to get her and tell her and be a cave man.

This book is hot and it is emotional and you will fall in love with these two. V keep these coming because you lady are amazing.

I was excited to read something fresh and different but this book wasn't good.
The author should have spend more time showing us the love and affection between those two as friends than the constant lusting thoughts of Sena about Noah. There was no build up,nothing that can make us believe or understand how a 100% gay man can fall in love with a woman.
The premise of "It was love" was very unique and interesting unfortunately the execution was lacking and clumsy.

'It was Love' and by-golly-gee-wizz was it true to its title.

Noah and Sena.. What can I comment? The story was amazingly well thought out and executed, and is to be expected when reading any of V. Theia’s works, a promise that you will not be disappointed with when reading this story either. A modern day romance in truth, and I would gladly read this book for a second go and quite possibly will no questions asked.

Sena: I absolutely loved her, and in so many ways I can relate to her just as many of you probably can also. You instantly feel that kinship with her through her inner turmoil and self doubt and at times desperately want to shake her to get her to wake up, just like you would your best friend when you know she’s being crazy. You can understand and sympathize with her, yet I never once felt that ‘OMG would she shut up and get over it’.

Noah: Good Lord what have we here.. A male that is pure perfection under the sun with his smug face (that I love). There is not a single thing I would ever want changed of him. Just the right amount of bossy, cocky and chivalry that makes you wish every male on earth would take note. She could not have written a better version of this man. V has ruined us for all future characters.

Being said.. Theia writes her characters so wonderfully that you don’t feel they are from some made up world where everything is just blooming daisies. You feel and go through the struggles right along with them. This story is no different. I didn’t want to rush through the book because I wanted to savor every juicy word laid in front of my eyes, yet I kept turning, page after page desperate for more. To have just a few moments more in this world that I fell head first into.

Cliffhanger haters beware . I knew going into this book this wasn’t the only book, that book two would be released shortly after. What I didn’t expect was to be given a thread dangled under my nose like the best chocolate in the world and have it snatched from under my nose! *Please take the last statement with a grain of salt, I’m being dramatic.

In the end, I hated how quickly I approached the final page of this book, because I loved it so much. I could read Noah and Sena’s story until the end of time and still be desperate for more. A wonderful read, I could say those words a thousand times over because it is a 5 Star book and highly recommended.

*ARC received from author for an honest review*

PS: I can not WAIT for book 2 description

The lovely V. Theia sent me an ARC of It Was Love so I could let everyone know my honest opinion.

OH my fricking god!!!! This book was hot! Hot! HOt! HOT! I love every word V. Theia writes anyway, and to take a jump from her biker men to the self-proclaimed King of New York Noah Fierro and his oh so sexy friend Sena Black was an absolute pleasure.

The author has the talent to make you feel every emotion her characters feel, the way they fight and make up, the way they are lonely and vulnerable and the way they dirty talk each other.

Yes, there's a hell of a cliffhanger but I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series because it's just that damn good.

You know that feeling when the author leaves you on a cliff hanger and you want to go all misery on their ass? Yeah, that! (But in a good way obvs).
This story. These characters. I am head over heels for them both and I can't wait for their part two. Literally. Can. Not. Wait.
My heart has been in my mouth for two days reading this and now I have to wait for the rest? Gah!
I'll just be here, counting the seconds...

I thought the Hero's sexuality would be tackled better, but it wasn't.
It felt like I was reading a normal 'rich guy that is my best friend' trope.
Except instead of fucking woman, he fuck men.
This book felt too....easy?
Like there wasn't a lot of inner conflicts from the Hero, but there was a lot of sex.
So the h is the first woman that the Hero had sex with.
He seems to ready to jump to the other lane pretty fast.
There were no confusion in his part, or any self-loathing or anything. He was sure of himself.
And that didn't seem very realistic.
Also, I didn't dig the writing style. There is WAY too many monologues of the h's feeling towards the H.
Like I GET HOW YOUR FEELING.
You don't have to repeat it 2-3 times in different ways.
Also, there is way too less dialogue, like when the Hero asked something. There would be pages and pages of monologue from the h's part before she reply

🖤King of Manhattan, take your place on my book boyfriend shelf 🖤

Do you know what V. Theia does amazingly? Write sexy af book boyfriends.

We've all ready gay-for-you books. Now take a bow this awesome Straight-For-You story! Can a gay all his life man fall for his beautiful friendship?

Plenty of authoresses write amazing smut and dirty talk, we've read plenty, but V for me is up there with the best of them. My eyeballs steam over with her words and how she builds chemistry and tension between the leading characters and makes me turn the pages rapidly to find out what happens next.

This book is heavy in character development. We get to know these two really quick and I adore them. I adore their friendship. It's so palpable and special that even if there was no romance in this book ( there is a TON!! ) I would have been happy watching Noah and Sena on the sofa watching SOA and chatting about men.

description We’ve laughed and enjoyed each other so much over the years it was inevitable my lines would cross somewhere along the way. We’ve acted like a couple. We’ve tended to our non-conventional, dysfunctional and highly co-dependent relationship.

It's well established now Theia has written my favorite MC series and in particular I'm not so quietly obsessed and chomping at the bit for HAWK's book (he's next!!!!!!!!) but now I'm worried... can a book hero be TOO perfect! Noah Fierro blew my tiny mind. He's all kinds of attentive in his friendship. He's chivalrous, overly protective ( he cockblocks like a pro. I'm going to change this to boyfriend-blocks when I post to amazon. Stupid amazon not allowing glorious majestic cocks! )

description Why do some people connect? I don't know. Chemistry, maybe something deeper, I'm not a scientist, I only know I needed Noah to breathe.

The longing in this book was OFF. THE. CHARTS. We've all felt unrequited love and how it kills you to be near then and not lick their face off. I loved hearing Sena's desire for her best friend and when the tide did turn her way... OH BOY Shit got real hot real damn fast!

As you'd expect with a Duet book it has a cliffy ending. Drats! Can't wait for book 2 in a couple of weeks!! I need more Noah in my life asap. Sigh.

I knew I was going to F-LOVE this book when I was only 4% in and already my fist was in my mouth. The heartfelt emotions of Sena caught my attention right away. And then her wit and carefree lovable nature had me laughing right along side her. The girl is funny! And haven't we all loved someone we couldn't have and felt the hart clawing of the one we want when he's right there? Poor Sena being around her crush all the time because her friendship with Noah was as she called it dysfunctional and codependent.

These two LOVED EACH OTHER so deeply it came through effortlessly on the page.

It just so happened Noah is gay.

But can a love grow from a deep-deep-DEEP friendship? Can it become a soulmates kind of love? Is he Straight-for-her?

That's the question!

Here's what sealed the deal for me. Here's what had me flipping the pages so freaking fast because I was epically invested in Noah and Sena. Not just because Noah Fierro is one hot piece of gorgeousness who is so attentive and cocky and sardonic yet a beautiful man who adores his little computer nerd. And it wasn't only because I kinda covet being Sena's bestie so we can eat cheese together and play computer games.

THEIR FRIENDSHIP BLEW ME AWAY.
Uhm.. Plus the steam factor of IT WAS LOVE was off the chain.
Damn. If you love Sexting scenes.... you need this.

You’re on a date with a nerdy dipshit and you’re soaking wet for me. So, wet you’re probably churning your greedy thighs together for any grind of friction to ease that little pussy, do you even deserve dirty talk from me right now?

Gah. So beautiful and hot and funny and sexy and addictive reading. These two people that shouldn't have gravitated together, their personalities aren't even similar. He's stoic and grumpy and she's bouncy and lovable. But they did, like two magnets and I was INVESTED IN THIS FRIENDSHIP! I believed it. I wanted it. I loved it!

Man, the ending though. It's a duet book so there is a TBC (dammit!) luckily for me we don't have to wait long because that fucking ending cracked me open and poured me with cement! lol.

I need more of King of Manhattan and Tech Doc. Le Sigh.

5 ★'s "It was so unfair how I wanted him, and he preferred his right hand."

I read It Was Love in one sitting, going way past my sleep time because I couldn't put it down. Just one more chapter turned into the whole damn book. And for good reason. I was thoroughly engrossed and compelled to read about Sena and Noah's friendship. I loved them instantly. They were warm and cute and funny together. Sena said they had a dysfunctional co-dependency and we see this in the way Noah is with her. He's attentive and protective in ways I long to see in my book heroes. He was everything!

description

I loved the premise of this trope. Having read before of straight boys going gay for their beloved best friend. And this book delivers a huge message about love in that it's not about sexuality. Noah has been gay all his life. He's not bi. But what he does is fall for a friendship that grew in his heart. He loved the soul first and the physical came later.

It was beautiful to read.
That ending though!! Oh my goodness. No! I need more right now.

This is a definite must read for romance fans. It's beauty wrapped in love and coated in hotness.

Quote: Low slung pale blue pyjamas should be outlawed. They had no business hanging precariously on the leanest, well-cut defined fucking hips owned by the skyscraper of a man, and not with his bare feet peeking out at the bottom. I’m outraged and turned on.

I loved Sena's humor. Sena is all of us!
The wait for book 2 now.

A piece of my heart exploded as I read this book. This author not only writes some of the rawest and most emotional sexiness that I have ever read, but the love just poured out of this book. I am so invested in Noah and Sena that my mind is screaming. I want this love story to work out more than I want my next breath. I do not want to give anything away with my review, but I will leave you with an excerpt from this amazing 10 star read. “ As my momma says; love is love. For all it’s power, it didn’t recognize sexuality. Love sees only in colors of chemistry from another person who were already destined to be a part of you.” I am running to read the next book in this duet and hope my aching heart can handle it. I highly recommend this book!

I received an ARC for my honest review.

There are not enough stars on Goodreads to rate this book!

Victoria is one of my very favorite authors. If you haven’t read any of her books do yourself a huge favor and start reading her Renegade Souls series. Just so you know, I have dibs on Hawk.

I was at the very beginning of this book when I had to stop and let the author know she was killing me with all the feels.

Noah is one gorgeous alpha male and Sena is a tech doc. You can tell how much Noah and Sena love each other. It jumps off the pages and smacks you in the face.

This book is hot, hot, hot! I won’t be divulging any secrets so as not to spoil this beautiful story.

Can friendship turn in to love? Tune in and find out. There is a slight cliffhanger but book #2 is due out soon. Right V??

I love friends to lovers especially when we get to see the deep rooted friendship throughout. I want to see connections and we got that here. I loved the heroines thoughts, she is all women when you like a guy who is unobtainable. She was fun and funny and when the heat got going it was HOT. Damn, this duet book took me for a surprising ride. I can't believe it's not known by more because the words eased off the page and directly into my heart.

‘It was love’ is the first book that I read from the writer V. Theia. To be honest, I had first bought the book ‘Manhattan secret’ (also a book of this writer) when I discovered that this duet series was connected with that book. So I looked this duet series up and after reading the blurb (a romance story between a woman and a gay guy?!!), I got VERY curious about this story!! So I decided to start with ‘It was love’ first.

Noah and Sena met 4 years ago and since then they have been best friends. Sadly, no matter how crazy Sena is about him. Noah is gay. He has never been with a woman because he knew from an very early age that he was attracted to men. But then one evening, something happens that makes Sena very confused because Sena and Noah did some sexual experimentation in the bedroom. Now, Sena doesn’t know what to think of Noah or his feelings or their friendship. And as time goes by and they do a lot more then experimentation, Sena gets more and more confused. Because what does It all mean? Although she enjoys every sexual encounter with Noah, she’s also very much afraid that he will break her heart in the end. Because she loves him and wants a relationship with him. And then comes the night that she sees something that confirm her fear. Noah with another man. Was she wrong to trust Noah with her heart and body? Or can she trust him with both?

Let me start by saying that this story ends with a cliffhanger but seeing that this is a duet series, I expected this. But what a rollercoaster this story was. Because V. Theia was a new writer to me, I didn’t really know what to expect of this story. But it had a bit of everything in it. It was funny at times, very steamy at others, it was emotional but it wasn’t dark. The story wasn’t ‘perfect’, sometimes we got a little too much information, other times too little information but still, I couldn’t put it down! This story held my attention during good, slow, steamy, funny and emotional scenes. I just had to know what would happen next!!!

Sena is the most funny of the two (I love the fact that she’s a computer nerd!). She also has the habit of talking a lot to herself in her head (sometimes a bit too much). And one of her favourite subject is Noah and she’s really crazy about him. She reminds you many times that he’s perfectly handsome and very hot. Noah is more the cooler, confident character. One thing that I loved very much in this story is their friendship. You really felt the connection between them, how they were at ease with each other. The fact that they could be themselves in each other company. And that also made the fact that Noah felt for Sena believable to me. Because of their special bond.
And Noah may be ‘gay’ but be prepared, there were many, many steamy sex scenes in this book!!!

I’m so intrigued by this story that I already bought the second book and I’m reading it at this moment!

Holy Mother Of Pearl!!!!
Victoria has done it again. I now have a new alpha whos alter I bow down to and will happily do so. Noah is the ultimate man with his dark and brooding personality and chivalrous manners that make you constantly swoon. Sena is the tech doc, my fave geek and as far as I am concerned she is my soul sister. The friendship between these two is amazing to see and I loved every minute of it.
I won't be spilling too many secrets but if you've read the blurb then you know this is one hell of a taboo romance and DAMN, is it hot! Vic does not disappoint with the most amazing sexy details and provides us with the perfect amount of angst.
I think that I can honestly say that there is not one emotion that I didn't feel throughout this book from laughing out loud to swooning like a lovesick teenager and then the tears because it has just tugged at your heartstrings.
This is book one and you will have to not so patiently wait for book two to see how they get their happily ever after. Also, this is a duet, so there is a slight cliffhanger that will have you biting down your nails so make sure to have some ice cream and/or chocolate on hand to help you through it!
This is my honest and unbiased review.

Self note
Hero is gay, always been gay, he’s never slept with a woman.
The h is straight and is in love with the H.
They’re best friends.
They hook up one night, have lots of sex and are in love now.
Lol, what kind of fairy tale is this.
Jeez, now I’ve seen everything. 😂

The H is GAY. Gay.
You can’t turn a gay person straight with straight sex. 🙄
Maybe this is a paranormal romance…

Thanks Ellie for the spoilers.

Where the hell do you start with V Theia’s amazing writing? I knew before the book even landed on my kindle that I would love Sena and Noah. There was no doubt about it. V is an amazing author, one that you should definitely check out if you haven’t already! It was Love is totally different from her Renegade Souls series, but the standard of writing is off the charts for both! You fall in love with the characters and their true to life emotions and qualms, and V successfully burrows into your heart, tugs at the strings and leaves you desperate for more.
Noah is gay. That much is true. Does he have a problem with that? Hell no. Noah is a deliciously determined, leading male character who gets what he wants when he wants – but he damn well works for it.
Sena is beauty in her own right. Without caring for what others think of her, she works her way up in the IT world, and hers and Noah's lives become entangled ….. but he’s still gay! A friendship blooms into one of the most precious relationships I think I’ve ever read. Everyone should experience the level of friendship between Sena and Noah. That relationship where you can be totally yourself, all the time, no matter what and know that the other person is never going to turn their back on you.
But what do you do when that friendship becomes something more? It’s by far the most terrifying feeling when you’re in a city on your own and the threat of loosing the one person most important to you grows with each passing day. But then what do you do if that friendship has the possibility of turning into one of the best relationships of your life? Do you pass up that chance?
This book is amazingly written, it yanks at your heart strings over and over again and you fall maddeningly in love with the characters (except Tom, he’s a dick). I was left on the edge of my seat with soaking wet knickers by the end of this book….highly recommended! RR

I went into this with high hopes bc it was recommended to me by so many people but honestly this was so boring. This is about 2 Bestfriends Sena & Noah. They’ve been friends for 4 years in which Sena has been in love with him the entire time.. He’s rich, funny, caring, attentive and oh yeah he’s gay. Now with that I was so damn excited for the drama and angst but ugh it just didn’t happen for me. I predicted the entire plot like 20% in😖. I loved their relationship dynamic and the banter between them. Things flowed naturally and the story moved pretty quickly but idk it was boring idk any other way to describe it. I can’t even lie I skimmed almost all of it just to get to the end even though I knew what the cliffhanger would be. Idk if I’ll read the next one right away.. who am I kidding I will but only bc OCD💀 Was this is a good plot? Yes. was it steamy? Lil bit, wasn’t my cup of tea though. Idk maybe it was the writing style. Either way if the storyline intrigued you, I think it’s worth giving it a shot bc I didn’t hate it but it just didn’t grip me the way I was hoping it would.

Noah Noah Noah. You filthy mouthed thing you. I loved him, not just his umm... Impressive bedroom skills, but also how he was always there for Sena. One of my favorite aspects of the story was their friendship. They were each other's person.
Sena has loved Noah forever and I was glad to see her finally get her fantasies fulfilled and then some. And that fulfillment was hot... And often.... And in sexy places.
The ending was just cruel, but book 2 is sitting on my kindle so...... Off I go.

Words can not express the level of greatness V. Theia has written. It Was Love left me with a wealth of emotions. I had to take time to control my feelings. I have read her MC series so I know she is awesome. Noah and Sena are the characters you either love or hate add the complication of love and you have a book making your heart and head battle. Did I tell you this book is part one! I know........ but you will want more and more of Noah and Sena story you will not want it to end...... Sena falls in love with her best friend Noah. Noah like men Sena likes Noah..... The friendship they have is strong and true but can it survive ? The heart wants what the heart wants.

Ok that Noah chapter had me like what???!!! The last 15% was angsty, sexy and just downright exciting. This is definitely a complex romance and like nothing I've ever read before. I completely identified with our flaky, brainy and somewhat neurotic heroine. I cannot wait until the conclusion of this story. V Theia's writing style just keeps getting better.

Noah and Sena omg.
This was a friendship I didn't know I needed.
funny and hot and so sweet and cute.
I was not ready for it to end the way it did.
I need more right now!
I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. days later I'm still thinking about their friendship.

Okay look I read this after deciding to not read this book EVER bc the idea of a guy whose been gay for ten MF years suddenly turning straight for his 4 year bestfriend is just insulting and unbelievable to me. It's like a slap to the face to everyone who haa protested against gay conversion therapy.

Regardless, I went into it with an open mind thinking that maybe, maybe there's sthg redeemable and that the emotional connection will be well explained. Well, how wrong was I. There was absolutely nothing emotional about this book. It was a continuous sex fest, which, while I enjoyed, kinda became mechanical after a little while. So I was expecting sthg tastefully sexy bc I needed that emotional connection, I mean why else a guy who's been a chasing after boys since he was six is suddenly into his best friend? Makes no sense.

He clearly states that he is confident about his sexuality so why is he into his totally straight bff? I can understand him wanting to "experiment" even tho he has been gay for a fucking decade, but I can ignore that tidbit and imagine him being horny and wanting to screw, but the thing is, where does love comes from for this couple? All the h talks about is how hot Noah is, how bubbly his butt is (that was cringy ngl🤧) It's all sexual. Except for his looks the h has never mentioned why she loved him.

Now let's talk about the H. I am not trying to stereotype anyone but all my gay friends absolutely do not act like Noah. Even if they are dominant, there's still sthg soft and feminine about them. Noah was described as the quintessential 'straight alpha' guy who is sooo masculine that he can make a girl orgasm without ever being with one LOl. I cannot believe the author did that. It's like the author didn't even try to make him gay, she just wrote him like any other straight guy with the overuse of the word queer lol. Just calling someone queer doesn't make them gay smh.

Yep. Gayer than gay. All the way down gay alley. If there was a spokesperson for queerness I was looking at it.

“Are you asking if I’m suddenly gonna be screwing all women now? No. I’m still queer.”

I was born a queer, I’ll die a queer, but fuck, there’s only one woman for me, and she’ll belong to me forever

Hmm okay stud I can totally feel your love.
