Smith has a communicative and engaging writing style which I found enjoyable to read. he conveys key technical information about the application of materials science and metallurgy on high-performance engineering in a way that is both insightful and accessible at the same time. overall a good read, and a nice book to go back to every once in a while.

Great to have around as a reference, especially if you do any kind of fabrication for racing.
