Rough Stock is such a breath of fresh air.
Shyanna is one tough cookie that has had a tough life but she doesn't let that stop her from following her dreams of being in the Rodeo circuit, much to the disgust of most of the men that compete. She's endured abusive relationships that has left her guarded and skeptical... that is until she meets a man that doesn't treat her the same as other before...
Jansen has his own issues with past relationships that has him weary of relationships, and he puts all of his energy into his events within the Rodeo circuit.
Shyanna and Jensen's story is full of angst and isn't short of issues as they uncover corruption within the career they both are so passionate about!!
Grab this book and dive into it with both feet and hang on for an intense ride!!!

This is my first book by this author. I really like this authors writing style!!
This book is about the rodeo and 2 characters who just love their sport. Jensen is near the top of his game in his league and Shyanna is trying to up her game, but is being held back (quite literally at times) by the men in this sport. They believe that women belong ANYWHERE but in the Rodeo. Jensen however, sees her for the fantastic, kick butt woman she is and is attracted to her. His first meeting with her could have gone better (lol), but it was a perfect meeting for these 2. Their relationship has it's ups and downs (they both have pasts with hurtful relationships in them).
I really enjoyed the entire plot of this story and how it twists and turns and keeps you riveted. I don't want to give to much away (it IS pretty good...), but there is more than just gender inequality in the rodeo. Much more... It seems like a sponsor has some very nefarious reasons for wanting to be a sponsor. If they get their way, it will seriously hurt the industry...

Do they get in?
Can they be stopped?
Do Jensen and Shyanna even have a chance at love before the sponsor gets into it?
Can anyone stop them?

You really need to read this story!! I was blown away by how good it was and will look for more from this author, not to mention looking for her past works.

What's not to like about Jensen and Shyanna? I think I kinda fell for Jensen in the first couple pages. As for Shyanna, she's rough around the edges but never gives up no matter what or who tries to take her down. Shy is one of those people that is never caught a break in life, from neglectful alcoholic parents to, an abusive relationship, to a prison term to outright harassment from men on the rodeo circuit she's been put down, let down and abandoned throughout her life. Along comes Jensen who seems to fall for her at first sight. He's a genuinely nice guy, great rodeo performer and a man who's willing to stand up for what he believes in. And, he believes in Shy, backs her 100% in her quest to be a bronc and bull rider. Things get dicey when there's a murder and Jensen goes missing. Shayanna along with friends takes matters into her own hands by tracking down the real suspects and finding Jensen. She finally professes her love realising that he is the one who's always been there for her. They do get they're HEA.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm the type of reader who will research words and terms that are unfamiliar to me as I read. I learned a lot about the rodeo while reading this book. Deanndra Hall creates strong, multilayered and genuinely likeable characters. Her stories are evenly paced, intriguing and keep the reader interested in what will happen next.

This is the third book in this series, and this is Shyanna and Jensen’s story.
Shyanna has been dealt a rough hand with alcoholic parents, an abusive ex, and a 6-year prison sentence for defending herself, and now she is a professional rodeo rider, and is in a male dominated world, where the men do not take kindly to her being there. Jensen is an instructor and rodeo coach at the university, and he leaves to join the rodeo circuit, where he meets Shyanna.
No spoilers, this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
This is a well written easy to read, action packed, emotionally charged story, with friendships, mystery, danger, suspense, intrigue, bullying, corruption, romance, trust, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, twisted, and unpredictable, page turner.
I look forward to reading more from these talented authors’ whose work I highly recommend.

Shyanna Owens hasn't had an easy life. alcoholic parents who couldn't be bothered with her, she only found periods of respite with her grandparents and occasionally her Aunt Jessi. As an adult, she barely escaped from a bad relationship with her life. This has served to make her tough and makes it almost impossible to trust anyone. She has chosen a male dominated profession... the rodeo. The men in the rodeo don't want her competing against them. Jensen Strader has watched her struggle until he can't stay silent anymore. Jensen is determined that she is going to be treated fairly. She doesn't trust him, at first. Jensen and Shyanna have both been hurt before, making relationships hard for them. They have a lot to work through to get the HEA they deserve. Get this book and find out if they manage to make a go of things. You won't regret it, I promise. Sorry, no spoilers.

Shyanna has had to be strong and independent from the time she was a child and has overcome so many challenges to get to this point. She is determined to succeed as a bronc/bull rider even if it appears that everyone is against her until Jensen joins the circuit.

After Jensen’s romantic life took a detour he needed to distance himself from the situation, so he joined the circuit. He was drawn to Shyanna from their first meeting, and he appreciates the woman she is as well as her rodeo skills and when the danger escalates there is no one else he would want to have in his corner.

Intrigue and romance combine as both Shyanna and Jensen have difficult pasts which does create some turmoil, but I enjoyed seeing them learn to trust each other with their hearts

This book was a lot of fun to read. I don't know anything about rodeos so I found myself looking up what the different events were and checking out youtube videos which was very interesting. I loved Shy and Jensen they were so meant for each other. They both had things to work on but slowly they started to trust each other. I felt so bad for Shy because of her past and all the things the guys in the rodeo were doing to her. There were a few moments that made me teary eyed but I won't say when because of spoilers but this book was definitely entertaining. The last half of the book was the best because of everything that happened and I'm glad it all worked out in the end. A great book.

‘Rough Stock’ was enthralling. It involved a female breaking into the male-dominated sport of bronco riding and the negative consequences that followed. In walked Jensen, a supportive male, who was involved in the circuit and was friendly to Shyanna, the female bronco rider. Both had baggage as they tried to develop their relationship. Moreover, I appreciated the author’s vivid descriptions and the down-to-earth word choices that created an upbeat tone. Overall, I liked the fast-paced narrative, which included some surprises along the way.

This is one of the best stories I have read by this author. Shyanna is a tough and remarkable female character that I just fell in love with. This is a strong female lead that is missing from a lot of fiction today. It is nice to see a woman not playing the damsel in distress to the alpha male. Jensen is a character who posses the qualities of a woman's dream man. The setting of the professional rodeo is an intriguing world that was exciting to read about. This book is full of suspense, twists, and sexy romance. A definite must read!

Shyanna Owens had a tough beginning, a daughter of alcoholic parents and an abusive ex, but he spirit is tough. She chose a male-dominated profession—rodeo rough stock rider and resigned herself to be the outcast but Jensen came along and stood up for her. Jensen believed in her and supported her dream to ride rough stock. I was hooked by Shyanna's story and how she grew to love her life with the help of Jensen.
Deanndra Hall really knows how to tell a story with a strong female character.

Shyanna is a strong character, she not only copes in a very male world in the Rodeo circuit. Also coming the other side of abusive relationship, making her guarded. Jansen past relationships has made him also relationship shy. When these two meet it is not roses but having to working together to uncover corruption, bring them closer and start to see a different way of thinking.

Loved these characters, their past hurt them, but made them stronger and becoming each others strengths.

Shyanna is part of the rodeo circuit. She can do all the things the men does but is bullied and has things said and done to her that should be stopped. But the ones in charge don't care because it's a man's sport. This is her story of how one man,Jensen, also on the circuit, who steps up when no one else has. Very,very,good.

Rough Stock is book 3 of the Small Town Southern Boys series. This was a great romance. The story was interesting, entertaining, emotional, exciting and enjoyable. The characters were likable, interesting, had chemistry, were strong willed, and had you rooting for them all the way. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read more of the series.

Don't let this romance book slip past you from reading it. This is the second book I have read by Deanndra that hooked me with the cover and prologue. This is a fabulous romance book that keeps you turning the kindle pages. This is one of those kick your feet up, relax and enjoy reading this 5-star romance book.

Shyanna has had a very tough life while she is trying to make a career out of rodeo the competition isn't welcoming. Jensen decided to hit the road after he was left at the altar. I loved Jensen and how he was willing to stand up for Shyanna without limits. While navigating the circuit they are targeted. Ya'll this one was a wild ride that I am happy to recommend!

Who boy this is one very emotional read. I found it a little bit slow to start however, once I got into it, it was a rollercoaster ride of emotion.
Shayna is one tough cookie, and I just loved her character. I also like that when they finally get to their HEA that Jansen is fully supportive of her.

This story is about small towns, southern boys and much more. It is very addicting with strong characters. It begins very interestingly and sucks you in. I love the characters and how their story develops. I love the southern charm this story brings. It is so heartwarming and I loved to see how Blue's world changed for the better.

I don't usually read stories with country type characters but I have to say that I was blown away by this book! It has all the feels and I fell in love with the main characters quickly. I definitely liked the fact that Shyanna had to work against the odds and prove herself. I recommend reading this story if you're into women that kick butt and don't take no for an answer! Looking forward to the next installment.
