Ashley Sandstone is a loving wife, mother, and business woman. Her husband, Kenny, is an attorney. Their life together is picture perfect - or so it appears. Ashley has a problem...she's being stalked and sexually harassed by Kenny's boss, Lexington Blackshear. Lexington is wealthy, devious, and obsessed with Ashley. He uses his influence to find out enough dirt on the Sandstone's, and proceeds to terrorize Ashley. Light pressure turns into a storm that threatens to break up a family. With her life and everything she loves hanging in the balance, Ashley tries to beat Lexington at his own game. But dancing with the devil is risky and this deadly dance will surely leave one of their lives in shambles.
It’s another amazing book written by Brian W. Smith. He’s the king of pulling at a reader’s emotional strings and then hitting us with a plot twist. What makes Smith special as a writer is that we aren’t prepared even though we know a surprise is coming.
Whew! This book...Man, I was on the edge of my seat for the last couple of chapters. And even though I was waiting for the signature BWS plot twist, and still I was taken completely off guard with the ending. Another great novel!
And he did it again. As usual, Mr. Smith keeps the reader on the edge of their seat while reading any of his work. I was ready for the twist at the end (his usual trademark) but what the what??? All I can say is that he got me again. His writing is truly evolving. Great read!!!
Lots of shocking twists and turns in this bad boy.
Lex's abuse of power filled this captivating story with blackmail, betrayal, arrogance and the utter stripping away of another person's self-respect.
Ashley and Kenny needed to have an honest conversation about his out of control kids, his soul destroying job, and his drug addicted ex-wife. That would have eliminated quite a few secrets and Lex's interference in their lives.
Loved it! Read it during my lunch break over 3 days. Young couple, beautiful children, nice home, husband moving up in his company; what could possibly go wrong?
Kenny and Ashley Sandstone have it all; or so it seems from the outside. But inside you have a wife who appears to be unfulfilled, a husband who seems to be focused only on getting promoted at work, two bad A, manipulative kids, and a slimey, creepy, stalker name Lexington who happens to be Kenny's boss. And said creepy boss wants Ashley......BAD! Lex goes after Ashley with everything he's got----even blackmail. How far would you go to protect your family? Ashley decides to dance with the devil.
Full of twists and turns and more than a few surprises, this is a perfect read that will bring out all of your emotions. This book was a roller coaster ride. At times I wanted to throttle everybody but Lexington, who I wanted to stab in the neck with a plastic fork.
If you like fast-paced, easy flowing books with witty dialogue and a few surprises, you will enjoy this one.
Wow Brian W.Smith has done it again! This book was a great read. The plot was making me so mad and then to get to the end and the surprise ending. It was a great read, several grammatical errors along the way but a great read! I really wanted to slap somebody a couple of times. I really wanted to know if Ashley ended up telling her story to her husband??? A great novel one that will have you guessing until the end, and oh what a ending it was!
Another great read! Every book he writes just gets better and better and I am still amazed by his writing style and flow to create everything in vivid detail so you feel like your right thief with each character. Ashley’s character was a pistol for sure and I was so rooting for her to get them bad ass kids with a roundhouse… lol
Brian W. Smith has penned another great book. This book is filled with drama and suspense. You will connect with the characters and find yourself experiencing several emotions. In my opinion Lexington was a trip in this book. I just love how he adds the twists in all of his stories. This is a page turner that you will not want to put down. I look forward to reading more of his books.
When the rabbit for the gun. This was an amazing ride. Although the underlying thread was a dark place, the author has an incredible knack for developing strong, stable and believable characters so the journey would be smooth. I have read other works by this author and I can say he has a smooth writing style. I won't forget this book for a minute.
This book shows us that what’s done in the dark does come to light and that almost everyone can be bought with a price. The secrets and betrayals are at an all time high. I enjoyed reading this novel and wouldn’t put it down because I looking forward for the twist that would come.
I was in my feelings early on while reading this book. The author had me not knowing who to trust or who to like. Them kids had me madder than I don't know what!!! This was a really good book and the author did great with keeping me reading. I couldn't out this story down. Looking forward to reading more from the author.
In a typical BWS book, you know there's a twist and this one is no different. The plot twist is at the end of the book and I'm confuse as to what happened. If you have read any of BWSs books, then you know that there is a twist some where. I really wanted to slap the mess out of Lex. The twins, Corey and Torrey, got on my nerves.
Brian W. Smith did it again! Mind blowing drama and thrilling suspense...thought for sure I had this one figured out. But in true BWS fashion, the spins and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat right until the end! I don’t know who worked my nerves more...them kids or Lex!
I've bern wanting to read this for awhile and it did not disappoint. This book had so many twists and turns and I loved it. This was my first book by Brian Smith but its not my last.
When the Rabbit's Got the Gun is a roller-coaster ride of emotions with several unexpected twists and turns that will keep glued to your seat. Brian W. Smith never disappoints and certainly this book was no different!
The ending threw me completely for a loop so much so that I had to go back a few pages to see if I’d missed something. This was classic BWS to hit you with a plot twist you don’t see coming but this one left me with too many questions.
This is not my first Brian W. Smith book, and it CERTAINLY will not be my last ! I love the twist he puts on each story to keep you engaged until the last sentence. His contemporary subjects will have you trying to figure the story . Just keep reading. 😃
once again in BWS fashion, I was taken on a wild escape with an ending I did not see coming! Glad I’ve added this to the collection. On to your next one...
I am finding out quickly this author's modus operandi. Just when you think you know how the story is going, he throws in his infamous curves. Without revealing any spoilers I was astonished...still trying to wrap my mind around the conclusion of the matter. It feels like you are watching a dramatic series finale and processing it waiting for the next season to start. Wowwwwww.
This was an easy and enjoyable read. However, in my opinion not one of the author's best books. I have read several of his books and like him as a writer because of the wonderful character development, story and twist.
