"Hide and seek."
Undaunted by a confused dislike of the previous short (about 30 mins) in this series, and given that this story had a different narrator with Ginger Sue, this reader decided to listen to 'Punished by Silence'. The main character is no longer a teenager and is now a detective, but she is influence by her past in the case in which she becomes involved.
It still reads like a poor movie script dialogue, but the narrator is much easier on the ear (although, once again, the playback was speeded up to 1.25 as her delivery was slow).

Good idea, badly executed
Although better than it's predecessor, this short story was almost instantly forgettable.

The game of IT

Awesome. A terrific little read about a missing twin.
Someone has put out an Amber Alert on a missing twin and has used all the terminology they could to make the police think that the kidnapper was armed and dangerous. Is this really the case?
The biological father has just been released from prison on parole on a drugs charge. The stepfather is not only the police officer who arrested him but also a son of a Governor. When she is called in to find the girl clues start to mount up that something isn't right. A drug stash, hungry children, abuse and a crooked cop. Can she get the remaining twin to play the biggest game of IT in her life?

A great, little story. A lot of elements of a very fast paced cozy. Dedra is phenomenal in her role. Kayleen performed hide and seek flawlessly. The bad guys got caught and the good guys got exonerated. I look forward to reading more of the series. Just downright awesome.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Scary. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

Creative justice

These very very short books are good but there is no way I'd pay for them due to how short they are but it's a great book about a woman that can come up a creative way to get justice.

I thought this very short cozy mystery was the perfect way for justice to be given. Loved it. I enjoyed Dedra and the psychiatrist conversation at the end. Recommend.

An awesome short story regarding a set of twin girls. Detective Dedra Kare is brought to the home where one of the twins was just abducted. The other twin tells the Detective how it all happened. Then Dedra assumes control and begins to issue commands. While in command mode no notices the second twin missing. Dedra begins looking for her but is sent home because the situation is too close to her own situation of losing her twin sister years before. This is awesome. Great read even though short. Can’t wait to read more
