✨𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 : 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬 ✨

This is a compilation of poems and short stories revolving around themes such as love, family, and longing. It's divided into 4 parts; Echoes, Now, Reflections and Tales.

▪️𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 ▪️

1. First and foremost, I am very new to poems and I was very excited and nervous to start this book. Fortunately, this has been an amazing experience for me. I find that the poems are very touching and I feel like it was written with much care.

2. My favourite poem has got to be Violent Winds! It's one of those poems that made me pause, think, and read it again because I could relate to it so much.

3. For me, some short stories appeal more than the others. "Amelia" made me teary and it will be one of the stories that I will remember for a long time because it left a big impact on my heart.

4. I would suggest this book to anyone who's new to poems or if you're a fan of one.

I loved this book so much! I love the poems as well as the short stories. One poem “Two Sides” give me a different point of view about relationship. There’re poems that give me motivation about life such as “Bad Apple” and “Old Memories”. Anyway, I’m someone in an independent relationship. Hence, I love your points about this relationship so much <3

The short stories also did the same effect on me. My Life as A Pencil, Amelia, and Single Parent. I love the stories ❤️

Good job, Charissa 👍🏻

I like this book, they somehow speak to me of the realities of the world. Some pieces are simple but they are able to move my thoughts and explore my deeper emotions which I think is the job of poetry, to let you feel each word. I also like the short stories, they have very interesting plot twists.
At first, I was hesitant to buy this book for the writer is not familiar to me (for I am new to poetry books) but I was just so attracted to the cover. And when I read that author also wrote Midnight Monologues which is familiar to me for I once heard it on TV, I took my chance. And I don’t regret getting a copy of it for it I had snapped so many relatable pages on it and posted it into my social media accounts.
I am looking forward to reading Midnight Monologues because I was hooked with this book, I hope I can find a copy soon.

POEMS
As always, Charissa writes her heart with pure honesty, revealing her brokenness in the first part, new hope found in new love in the second part, inspiring and heart piercing truth in the third part. Taking new challenges in her writing, it is very exciting to read. Did I mention heart piercing truth? I read it with such conviction I had to repent for my rebellious heart that constantly ignores the truth.

TALES/SHORT STORIES
The short stories were very touching this time, filled with emotions of joy & sorrow. They were written very well, flowing smoothly from start to end. The adventures in the stories were very thrilling and I could imagine myself in that world.

All in all, I really enjoyed this read and would totally recommend it to others.

Woahh, I'm finally done finishing this. I was reading my other friend's daylight dialogue book. And I, fell in love with the poems inside. I couldn't stop reading. I KNEW I had to get one myself too.

The poems are BEAUTIFUL and kinda broke me as well while reading 💔💔
No because the poems hit SO HARD when you understood the hidden message that was tried to send. While reading it, I was like, ouch 💔

The short stories are great, although I weren't managed to understand the stories 100%, it's not so bad. The stories are still great. Personally, I would rate this book 4 ⭐, since I aren't able to fully understand the short stories well. But the stories are still beautiful as the poems. Maybe I'm just a lot more biased with the poems 😭

i relate to less poems but they are still very smart: smart use of words, play with sentences, etc. The short stories are very different from midnight monologues’ but still remain very interesting. Some were more boring than the previous stories from the previous book but the end few were interesting and smart. loved it. every time i enjoy one of her short stories i find myself wondering when she will come out with a full novel on a specific plot, it would be so crazy and mind blowing. eagerly waiting for her to release one.

hey this book is alive guys. i love it so much. i’m not even in relationship and breaking up phase. but it just that i live the words. all the poem. there’s kind of two different parts of poem which is the love and about success or about life. and there’s short stories at the back. i love the short story about pencil. haha it’s so fun and i don’t even know what’s the hidden meaning or conclusion about that story haha. but i guess it’s worth my money. you guys should try this book

It may seem that I have just skimmed it but believe me I read it through my heart especially the tales part. I always wanted to create a good poems because it is an indication that I am improving as a writer and this book inspired me to do better and to do my best. Will read the midnight monologues after this. Thank you, Charissa.

Poems are nice. I love some of them and can relate to them. My favourite part is Tales. Especially My Life as a Pencil since it reminisces my childhood and early life in school years.

Also, I love Single Parent and sobbed while reading. Someone’s chance to attend school was robbed because of old and shabby uniform really broke me.

The poems are nice, so easy to understant, but it usually spin about love thus it felt repetitive. The short stories are amazing though. The fantasy themed are my favourite. I hope more poems play around that theme.

My first ever poetry book. Would not have known the author if it's not because of this book. I'm enjoying every bit of poem written and my fav part is reflections. Couldn't relate more to it. Now, off for midnight monologues. 🤩

I honestly liked this one than the first one by Charissa Ong Ty. This one is well written and the poems truly spoke well and clearly. Emotions were well conveyed and everything was placed intact. The short stories as well had powerful impact. Truly one for keeps.

Some of the poems were repetitive or like prose at the beginning, which made me annoyed that I'm gonna be going through another Instagram poetry rant spree, but the rest of the book and short stories were pretty creative which was a good turn.

Love this very very much ! Charissa Ong Ty’s words have a way of capturing quiet emotions. A few stories didn’t hit as hard for me, but the collection as a whole left me feeling inspired. Definitely a book recommend to anyone who enjoys modern poetry. 4 ⭐️!!

Some of the fantasies written need a much deeper thought, u might read them twice to get the gist of it. Very abstract, but much of the composition source from emotions.
