This series so far reminds me of whiplash: the first half of this omnibus is so focused on levity (aside from some bloody beginnings) even in its fantasy world-building, but the second half is so downright dystopian and gory that it’s like a completely different series. Also: boobs, butts, and more boobs and butts seem to be the way of the art style (even though it IS a beautiful manga with art reminiscent of Kaoru Mori and Aki Irie). It’s just irritating that the series could be SO GOOD...if only it didn’t demean its female characters by hypersexualizing them through nudity. Such a waste!
Wow! I was not expecting this! Fantastic artwork, wonderful characters, action up the wazoo, and a naked princess! What a combination! It’s basically a badass princess who disguises herself in her kingdom so she could jount outside the castle and kick some monster butt. Yeah, there’s fanservice but it’s goofy and hilarious at times. I love the balance of whimsical humor and downright nasty bone crunching, gut twisting gore. What a manga!
This is ... unapologetic, meaningless pantyshots interrupted from time to time by maneating giant monkeys the heroine fights (with some clothes on). There is a lot of naked skin, many boobs, legs, butts and suggestive angles. A story or main conflict is hard to find. Maybe the manga IS about fighting giant man-eating apes, but I'm not sure.
Despite the title, Vivian/Claria is no princess. She is actually Queen of her country, Auroria. She likes to leave the castle for forest explorations though (despite the giant apes). As her Queen persona, she wears a helmet that disguises her identity, which is never explained. Is it purely so she can sneak out without her face being recognized? Or is there some other reason?
Her maidservants do know her face, and she has a favorite, Luba, who may or may not be a love interest. Since there is no story or progress though, maybe Luba is also just part of the fanservice? I don't know.
The art is gorgeous, but is it worth it? Probably not.
kinda gave me tonal whiplash? like dont get me wrong, i enjoyed the comedic and slice of life moments but the sudden jumps from the initial backstory bit at the beginning then a large comedic section and all of a sudden plot felt kinda out of place. that didnt bother me nearly as much as the chapters with the pervert (hate that trope with a passion) and how inconsistent vivian's character is. from the summary and the first chapter i was expecting someone more badass i guess? she can take down a monster but not some pervert? i just want some consistency. i do love her little goofy moments tho.
i hope the plot picks up in later volumes. anyways luba's a queen, stan her ngl.
I was really impressed by the tone of this series. It's very campy but really well balanced with it's world and characters. It can be goofy at times but the good kind. I loved the lead, her character is well established, draw and written throughout, also badass when the time comes. The first couple of pages signifies what this manga is for me. Might not be for everyone. It certainly worked for me. Rating: 4.4/5
This goes from ecchi to comedy to gorefest to some of the most racist stuff you could read. There are lizardmen and giants in this world... the author then thought "What if I made black people with ridiculously large lips into a fantasy monkey race?" I cannot believe this was published. This guy should have rocks thrown at his head for even thinking of something so vile.
Our Mc is in love with miss Luba, she doesn't realize that. I would like to know more about these umbers that keep killing people. There is a lot of sexy scenes in this manga, I didn't expect that.
