While moving my office library, I stumbled upon another remarkable book: Challenge Management: What Managers Can Learn from the Top Athlete (F.A.C.E. the Challenge: Entdecke die Willenskraft in dir!) by Dr. Wladimir Klitschko and Stefanie Bilen.
Wladimir Klitschko is not only a legendary boxer and Olympic champion but also a successful entrepreneur and educator. In 2016, he developed a unique management course, which he now teaches at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
In this book, Klitschko shares 12 principles of Challenge Management that he refined during his sports career and successfully applies to business and life. One of these principles is “Effectiveness over perfection,” emphasizing the importance of achieving results rather than obsessing over flawless execution. Another key insight is that “Success is a balanced combination of heart, mind, and action—plus a little bit of luck.”
The Ukrainian edition of the book has long been sold out locally. However, it remains available on Amazon for those interested.
Beyond sports and business, Klitschko has taken a strong stance in supporting Ukraine. Since the full-scale invasion, he has been a vocal advocate for Ukraine on the global stage, engaging in multiple initiatives to support the country.
I highly recommend following Wladimir Klitschko—not just for his leadership insights, but also for his unwavering commitment to Ukraine.
