Understanding Brexit provides a concise introduction to the past, present, and future of one of the most important and controversial topics in modern British politics. Written for both those familiar with the topic and those new to it, the book sets out in a clear and accessible way many of the fundamentals for understanding why Brexit happened and what happens next.
Unfortunately, I feel no more knowledgable after reading this book than when I started it. The conclusion chapter in particular frustrated me as rather than reaching any conclusions it appeared to rather ask a lot more questions. Perhaps that’s because so much is at this stage still unknown? I’m giving 2 stars instead of one on the assumption my ignorance may be partly to blame.
