Sasha had endured four years of bullying at the Academy, without complaining to her parents, but when she finally admitted how unhappy she had been, her mother and father moved house, in order that she can complete her schooling at Grindlay's. The new school proves to be all she hopes and at last, she has friends. She also finds pupils that like her. Then the bullying starts over, with subtlety, and Sasha finds herself, once more becoming an outcast. Bella says she loves Sasha but has she betrayed Sasha's trust?
I haven't read very many transgender books amd honestly going into this one I didn't know it was. Personally, I was very interested in the story but the writing style just wasn't for me. Also found myself not liking any of the characters in the book. They were too accommodating to Sasha almost to the point that she coumd do no wrong and everyone else did. She could tease but heaven forbid if someone teased her. I don't know, that really irked me; didnt make things feel real. And I really didnt like how it was constantly mentioned how girlie Sasha was...constantly. As a reader I dont need convincing l, the writer told me she is a girl. Well, i guess my rating is a bit high considering my complaints but its my first one by this author and also free with kindleUnlimited...so 2.5*
Powerful expanding & redefining of who, how & what defines being a woman. A good, entertaining story with interesting characters, though the connection wasn't as strong & relatable to them as I would've wished it was. Though not achieving all I feel it could've & should've been, this still was an enjoyable read about stories that need to be told so much more.
