A chronological account of the economic progress, industrial development and institution building during the Second Polish Republic 1918 to 1939. Looked at are the post war reconstruction, the forging of a single state from the legacy of three empires, hyperinflation, the impact of the Great Depression and the attempts at state planned industrialisation. The economic events and policies are integrated fully into the political context also the structure of, and trends in society are described.
