Are you worn out and overwhelmed by your never-ending to-do list? Multitasking. Taking care of family and friends. Driving car pool. Running errands. Filling out paperwork. Meeting deadlines at work. In today’s do-it-all world, women are busier and more tired than ever juggling the roles of mom, executive, volunteer, student, wife, friend, and everything in between. We’ve all been there – feeling frenzied and desperate as we try to keep it all together. Some days it feels like we’re managing everything well, but more often than not, it feels like everything is managing us. It is easy to become emotionally, physically, and spiritually exhausted. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It is possible to experience a life of peace and find rest for your soul – even with life’s demands.

I really enjoyed waking up to these short devotions each day. The artwork in the pages made me feel special ❤️ never take for granted the beauty of a well put-together book with original art and powerful quotes. Her next devo will be coming out later and that is the one I’ve written for. So I’m so excited to see what it looks like and what Shaunti compiles together! This series of books is really needed for women and it helped me a lot.
FIND REST: A Women's Devotional For Lasting Peace in a Busy Life is a beautifully done, hardcover devotional for women. The devotions are short, one verse, thoughts about it and busyness and then a brief question for the woman to answer (with lines to write on) and a thought to end with an application.
There is no meat to these devotions, they are not for deep, growing Bible study, but they are great for a few minutes in the word to help get your day started, a quiet moment when you need a breather, or even to end the day.
If you or a woman you know need rest - or love devotionals, this book would make a great gift (Mother's Day, birthday, Christmas, or just because). I enjoyed reading through it and thinking about some of the questions. I especially loved the quotes and the artwork. Beautifully done book for gift-giving or for your own collection.
This devotional is so beautiful from the beautiful hard back cover, to the shiny edges to the pages, to the artwork within. It brings me joy just to pick it up each day and read it. And the context doesn’t disappoint either. I love the devotionals. Each one is 2 pages in length that can easy be read in a short amount of time. Then there is a reflection question to help apply that days devotion followed by a beautiful artistic quote. And I absolutely love the smell of the pages. I will just brush off the pages and sniff them. I know that makes me an avid reader but that okay.
My niece gave me this book for Christmas and I completely love it. Hint hint. This would make a great gift to a secret sister, Christian friend, Teacher etc
3.5 stars. It's a good book, very relatable. Helpful advice on reducing stress and living a more restful life. There is a scripture passage every day, and the author talks about God very often, but it's not like this book will get you deeper in the Word. So read it for the advice, spiritual and otherwise, but dig into the Bible more elsewhere. Also, it's funny. I realized later that there's a lot of obvious ways to find more rest that she didn't mention. For me: Clean up your junk already. Problem-solve with your spouse about things that are bugging you. Breathe. Maybe this book can help you think about those things too.
This is a beautiful and simple morning devotional. Each day's thoughts end with a short opportunity to write a few sentences. I never do this because I don't want to "ruin" perfect books. I regret that now. I'll be saving this book to reread and write, in maybe a couple of years when I've forgotten it!
Great devotional! Just enough to read for each morning. Not too much, not too little. Really spoke to me. This is not a dig deeper into bible study devotional but gives you very relatable situations that help you do something daily with your faith, to grow in your walk with God. It includes many very important reminders that this devotional will be a re-read.
The length of material each day was perfect and I loved the questions at the end of each one. They were great reminders of the lesson throughout the day.
I start my day reading this, reflect on it, and pray. Just beautiful. Made me stop, think and finally realised that I have been busy for the wrong reasons. Thank you Shaunti for reminding me what my real occupation is.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this devotional. I loved the thoughtful way the author made me stop and think about my life and how I can make it better, not just for me, but for those in my life.
