How much power do our words really carry? Is it possible that our words—the air that we invite into the deepest recesses of our body and then carefully expel through the sacred organ of our vocal chords—have a power that is so great that it was intentionally confused over 5,000 thousand years ago? What would it mean to re-discover the secret of the language that heals our deepest hurts, breathes life into our greatest joys, and literally creates Reality itself? The result of over thirty years of research and the experiences of many thousands of people, Conscious Language - The Logos of NOW is the premier guide to conscious language in the 21st Century. Through 17 concise chapters, the pioneering work of Robert Tennyson Stevens masterfully leads us on a step-by-step journey in the new science of Conscious Languaging; the science of choosing the words that express our true intent, and knowing that our words are the quantum templates of health, abundance, peace and relationships! - Excerpt of foreword by Gregg Braden, New York Times best selling author of The Divine Matrix and The God Code
What worked for me with this book is that it reminded me to use positive language and supplied cues to do that. It is basically a rehash of all the other positive thinking/speaking books such as Napoleon Hill's series and the Secret. This particular rendition of think it and say it as a positive, used a lot of scriptural quotes and references, which to me are gobbledy- gook that some folks translate and find meaning in. I also appreciated that it gave acknowledgement to the fact that if we don't believe what we are saying, using positive words will not miraculously make them so.
I have not finished reading this, but I did not really understand why this book (whoever wrote it) is extremely obsessed with god. I mean I am here for gaining scientific knowledge, as far as I see the writer interminably regurgitate about god. I mean can't we just settle on the only language and linguistic aspects?
The book as the title states brings awareness of through the use of conscious speech subconsciously we put hurdles in our own way. I found the book enlightening and will be a useful reference to share with family, friends and more importantly to have in my tool kit.
I love the premise of changing your internal dialogue -- it's extremely important work and I'm excited to apply that.
However, I found the book to be extremely repetitive and sometimes hard to follow. When it comes to non-fiction, I like books that are easy to read and apply, and this didn't feel that way.
This book is pure gold for helping you upgrade your language and your thinking. Being conscious of what we saying is so important . This book is a great guide.
This book is a must read! I reference it often as a guide to continue to transform my language. The book is easy to follow and enjoyable. Glad to have it a part of my library.
Wow, what an eye opener the content of this book. I have become highly aware of my words when I speak. It definitely has made me more conscious of my thoughts and word selection.
Where this book shines is in presenting the profound influence that words have on our interactions and lives. It attempts to show how you can create a more fulfilling reality through changing the way you verbally engage the world around you. The author reminds us of the power that our words have, and how listening deeply, choosing words that are more aligned to your desires and speaking from your heart are key to transforming your life. Where it needs improvement is in the application of the concepts. Worth the read, don't expect a panacea unless you put in the work and find ways to apply it in your own life.
