Enjoy the first book in the Luminar Masters Series by Rebel West. The books are interconnected and can be read in any order. Guaranteed HEA and no cheating!
Note: This book contains elements of dominance, submission, BDSM elements including corporal punishments. If this material offends you, please do not buy this book.
I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.
Normally Sci-Fi romance is not my go to genre but when three of your favorite authors come together and write a story, then I feel adventurous to try something new. So I saddled up my imagination and went for a color filled fictional trip to Luminar to learn all about Luminarian life and get an up close look at a scrumptious Prince and an inquisitive alluring human neurologist. Before I knew it mystery surrounded Lock and Cali, sexy commands were uttered, and the temperature was rising leaving behind flushed cheeks and shortness of breath.
Cali Taylor is a doctor who is going on a trip that every human wishes to go on but few get to. Little does she know that she will encounter danger, intrigue, and will find love and desire that far surpasses what she has ever experienced. I enjoyed getting to know this curious, sexy, and intelligent heroine who is not afraid to take chances that will benefit both and Earth and Luminar but could ultimately put her career and life on the line.
From the moment I met the gorgeous and commanding Lock, Prince of Luminar, I was ready to get cozy and find out more about what makes the Luminarian men so dominant and delicious! Rebel West soon shows us that there is more than meets the eye on Luminar and that Lock is as moral and noble as his title suggest. Lock is a unique and colorful book boyfriend that delivers punishment in the bedroom that is sure to make your toes curl and is it's own sexy reward.
Rebel West delivers a love story that spans two worlds, is extra steamy with a side of kink, and teases both your mind and your heart. I highly recommend Conquered By the Alien Prince for an out of this world romance that fuels your imagination and your libido. This is the first book that I have read by Rebel West but most assuredly will not be my last. I can't wait to see what sexy other worldly men are created for readers to drool and sigh over next. Rebel West proved to me that sometimes taking a chance on a different genre can be eye opening and get your blood pumping.
This was another great read. Our heroine is Earths most esteemed neurological Doctor and goes on a top secret mission to the Luminarian planet. There she is tasked with curing/diagnosing the mystery illness plaguing the crown prince. The title is slightly misleading as the hero in the book is actually a prince, just not the crown prince, that title does to his brother. There was so much heat packed into this book as well as mystery, awe and creativity. While I barely understand many of the medical terms it seems like the author did her research and it really came off as interesting, witnessing the heroine using her skills and brains. Now the big mystery wasn’t a huge mystery as there aren’t many characters to all be villains and some are just obvious. The general storyline wasn’t overly unique but I think the author did a phenomenal job creating her own new alien world, with fasc8nating differences and similarities to Earth. And omg the an8mals on this planet, I legit wanna go here. Let’s just say they legit have unicorns, need I say more. My biggest complaint was the end of the book, literally after the final chapter where two more books in the series are listed and says they are available on kindle unlimited. However I’m not having any luck find8ng them at least at the moment. Idk, all I know is in all for more in this series. These men are dominant kinky freaks with some sick as toys us women on a Earth could learn a lot from. Apparently their culture is all about dominant male roles, only in the bedroom and if the hero is anything to go by, these men know how to please their women and derive every ounce of pleasure out of them that they can. . This was a fun enjoyable scifi romance and I’ll certainly keep a look out for the other two. For some reason I’m hoping one of the women the heroine meets who works with animals just stuck with me and it was obvious her and her guard were more than just friends. But then I got thinking of the hero’s brother, the crown prince and I am just hoping for a happy lil alien sandwich for her. If sci fi+romance+kinky sex+alpha males is your your thing-Do not miss this book, you’ll be glad you didn’t.
Hot Sci-Fi anyone? Yes please! This is the first Rebel West book for me but definitely won’t be the last. In the description of the book it says that it contains elements of dominance, submission and BDSM. These things are generally not at the top of my “to read” list….now don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a hot read and this book is way more than that! The back story of both planets, the world building and the amazing characters that are brought to life through the author, Rebel West, are intoxicating. It’s the perfect mix of hotness and suspense! Cali is from Earth and gets to travel to Luminar on a top secret mission, but doesn’t know what the mission entails until she arrives to Luminar. She has some very strict restrictions with whom she can talk to and where she can go, for safety reasons. Cali is then presented with her delegate for her stay there and it is none other than Lock, the hot as hell prince who she has dreamed about. As they are alien to each other they both try to restrain themselves, but oops, sometimes things don’t go as planned *wags eyebrows*. Cali is set on a task to save Maxxon, Lock’s brother and ruler of their world, as he is very sick. As Cali discovers more about herself and Luminar she is discovering that things aren’t always as they seem. As she gets close to discovering more about the illness things go awry. Let me tell you, this book has a little bit of everything. And did I mention a terribly sexy alien prince??? The trials that these two face being from different planets (literally) and trying to get to the bottom of the Maxxon’s illness will keep you turning pages until the very end. I am looking forward to checking out more of Rebel West’s stories!
A new book by a new author. I very much enjoyed the plot to this book. Cali and Prince Lock are characters who are easy to relate to and their storyline is easy to follow. I enjoyed it and will eagerly be waiting for the next book in this series!
The story was a good story but the submission and dominance roles were overdone . The male lacked care , sensitivity and support toward the female. I found him to be cruel and her to a an idiot.
I didn't enjoy the writing, characters or the story - very silly. We have the h 24 year old neurologist? She was a child prodigy, now a highly respected doctor on earth, but she thinks and acts like a 12 year old girl. It made no sense, as a prodigy, she would have been around adults, she's brilliant, but she isn't, she's really quite stupid. The H gets kinky with her, but never shows any sign of caring for her at all. The characters have no depth and the story seemed to be written by a very young person.
Out-of -this-world suspense, mystery, hidden agendas, hot, hunky, alpha aliens, and a completely unpredictable ending! Rebel West is incredible!
More than a hundred years in the future, Earth's a technology flourishes. Yet corruption, class warfare, and government machinations are worse than ever. Enter the Luminarians, aliens all too familiar with Earth. How? Why? While Luminar is far more technologically advanced, it seems they need Earth. And so the Interplanetary Research Team (IRT) is formed. But does either side really trust the other? None of that matters to Dr. Cari Taylor, the best neurologist on Earth. There's a top secret mission on Luminar for which she, and she alone, is qualified. Shrouded in NDAs, secrets, demands that loyalty to Earth is first and foremost, she's taking the biggest leap of faith of her life. But life on Earth holds nothing for her anymore. Her arrival on Luminar? Awe, culture shock, the sheer beauty and diversity that is Luminar, all overwhelm her. She's captivated in every way. But nothing draws her attention more than His Royal Highness, Prince Lock, brother to the ruler of Luminar. He's her delegation, her protector, her jailer, and so much more. It's up to him to make sure her mission succeeds at any cost. As Cali chafes at Lock's highhanded, dominant tactics, she's inexplicably drawn to Lock in ways she's never known. The attraction isn't just magnetic. It sizzles! But the rules make no sense, Explanations are nonexistent. And the Luminarians she's supposed to be working with? Let's just say an iceberg would be more welcoming. Time is of the essence. If Cali and her Luminarian counterparts can't find answers, Luminar will descend into chaos the likes of which hasn't been seen in centuries. No pressure, right? But Cali's brilliant. Despite roadblock after roadblock put in her path (many of which are put there by Lock), her unique perspective, her brilliance, reveals ideas and patterns her Luminarian counterparts couldn't begin to imagine. But, unknown to her, there are hidden agendas set up to ensure her failure. Add in the distraction of the irresistible sexual fire and constant bickering between Cali and Lock. Torn, Cali's independence and defiance put her life on the line, much to the detriment of anything building between her and Lock. Is she the only one possible of finding the answer, what the Luminarians have missed? Or will everything she's fighting to save, the Luminarians, their civilization, Lock, even her own life, be lost in the conspiracies surrounding her? One thing is clear. Cali will have to be smarter, braver, fight harder, and trust herself like she's never done before if she's to win everything that's at stake!
Rebel West is FANTASTIC! This story isn't just another run-of-the-mill sci-fi alien romance! Is it scorching, filled with hot, hunky, sexy aliens, and absolutely blazing hot romance? Absolutely! But the only words I can come up with to describe this book are fresh and innovative. This isn't just a sexy, erotic sci-fi romance. There are layers upon layers of intrigue, hidden agendas, mystery, and outright duplicity. I absolutely loved Cali. She's feisty, self-reliant, her own woman. And she's brilliant, a true genius! That she's willing to give up a life on Earth and travel to a completely unknown planet, with no information why she's going, and only her expertise to support her, shows just how strong she is. A woman this independent, focused, and brilliant is rare in any sci-fi romance. The details of her mission are overwhelming in their scope. An entire planet and its civilization are dependent on her, an alien. Then there's Lock. He's an enigma wrapped in a riddle. Dominant in the most extreme sense of the word, he knows the enormity of the situation facing Cali. Despite the inexorable attraction he feels for Cali, he's mysterious, unreachable, even cold and calculating. To say these two are the antithesis of each other would be an understatement. For them to find any common ground seems impossible. But Rebel West has combined every seemingly contradictory aspect of this story and written a book so compelling I couldn't put it down! Add to that the supporting characters. They're absolutely integral to the story, to the point where it simply wouldn't work without them. This is a masterful first full-length novel in a new series, and I can't possibly give it anything but five stars! Congrats, Ms. West! You've created a bewitching, beguiling story!
A final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. Don't leave a negative review when you know you won't enjoy the book. It's not fair to the authors. They work extremely hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to a book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the authors an extreme disservice.
I received this book from the authors for an honest review.
Yes!! Sci-Fi Alien type books are like a treasure for me especially when they are a bit naughty *wink*. When I saw Rebel was looking for a few ARC readers, I jumped because a hot alien who needs your help to save his brother seemed up my alley.
Cali is the best of the best on her field of science on Earth. When she is hand picked to come to the alien planet to work on a top-secret project, she jumped. She knew there was going to be a bit of danger because not all the aliens were thrilled to see HUMANS on their planet. When she arrives and is told the hottie prince, who is always on the news, is HER personal Delegate….she is a hot flustered mess as any women would be.
Prince Lock is intrigued by Cali for her mind and spirit. He is fascinated by her optimistic mind and will to work on the project of helping his sick brother. The one thing Lock has issue with is her WILLFUL disobedience…..Snickers….
Cali and Lock are trying to work together to figure out what is happening with his brother when the sparks FLY and the chemistry between the two is super-hot. When Cali soon discovers what the problem is…well yeah things go haywire.
The secrets are spilled and then the two must make some decisions about a possible life together. I totally enjoyed this book. I sat and read it in one sitting. Cali is feisty and sassy while Lock is dominating and yummy. The two have great understanding and compassion for their planets plus they really do what to find a balance between their two worlds. I would love to read more in the series for sure!!! I am curious about Willow and her Commander….need to go check the rest of this authors books on goodreads.
This one just did not hit the spot for me. I didn't like either protagonist and had a hard time believing in their HEA.
First there was lots of spanking...which is so not my thing. If that's hits all your buttons, then you may enjoy this book more than I did. Honestly, I had to skip over a lot of the intimacy in this book because I didn't realize this was a dominance/submission romance. My fault, obviously...not the author's. But I thought I'd give the book a chance regardless. Just because there's an aspect I don't like doesn't mean I won't enjoy the book overall.
The hero was supposed to be all dominance in the bedroom, but all supportive / "women are equals and revered" out of the bedroom. Unfortunately, he was not. I don't know if he had to be different because of his royalty status, but he was an ass outside of the bedroom. He didn't listen to Cali, never offered her help (even though she kept calling to ask for help), and didn't respect her discoveries and suspicions. So much so that he nearly got her killed because of it. He was so unlikable I nearly quit reading the book.
And the story was so misguided. Lock's brother is dying...he's facing the fact that he may have to ascend the thrown soon...but he can certainly take a moment to bang the new Dr. in town and show her that she needs to stay in her lane. (I swear, if he told her one more time to quit being difficult and "Get along with the other Drs", I was gonna scream!) Cali wasn't much better. She had childish moments that didn't really speak highly of her character. Then other moments I'm sitting there scratching my head because I've figured out what's going on, but Cali is still trying to piece everything together. She's supposed to be the best, smartest neurologist on earth...EARTH! Despite this, she can't 1) keep her hormones in check for even two days on Luminar and 2) can't figure the villain! She didn't live up to her description.
This was just a very weird read for me. I couldn't connect with the characters so I just didn't enjoy it as much as a I could have.
I have to confess I was a tad skeptical about reading an “alien sci-fi romance.” But, since one of the authors happens to be a favorite of mine, I decided to take a chance. I am delighted I did. Conquered By the Alien Prince: An Alien Sci-Fi Romance by Rebel West is dynamite. It’s a sexy, thrilling, creative book. Alien Prince Lock got me warmed up from the first description of his physique. The title of the book told me he would be a key player in this hot read. Before Dr. Cali Taylor took off on her journey to Luminar, I envied her trip. However, this book is more than a simple steamy romance. Cali is going to Luminar to assist in finding a cure for Prince Lock’s brother, Maxxon the ruling prince. Suffering from a mysterious neurological disorder that grows worse daily, he is relying on Cali’s neurological skills to help his doctors find a cure. Dr. Jayya and Dr. Amakka have been struggling to discover what has caused Maxxon’s illness. Neither seems happy to have Cali join their team. In fact, they treat Cali with disrespect. However, Prince Lock is impressed with her, although there is more to his interest than medical cures. It’s apparent from the moment they meet there is an attraction. It doesn’t take long before Prince Lock has introduced Cali to love, Luminar style. The romance and sex in this book are intense. The authors are no holds barred in describing the bedroom play between these two lovers. Winding throughout the story is a hint of intrigue. Soon Cali discovers something about Maxxon’s condition that raises red flags and almost gets her killed. What occurs in the last chapters of this book is exciting and brings the story to a rewarding climax. I loved this book. It’s a love story with plenty of sex, suspense, thrills, and passion. I highly recommend it and look forward to the next book in the series. I am definitely hooked.
I just finished reading this book and loved it so much. I liked the premise of sending human doctor Cali to Luminar for an interplanetary research project. Cali's project must be kept secret, it involves the Crown Prince Maxxon. Prince Lock is Cali's connection to the crown prince and he takes his assigned position very seriously. Cali is to do her research work along with the other doctors working on a cure for the crown prince's mysterous illness. Dr Jayya, a tall female Lumarian and Dr Amakka are her superiors on the project, they have sworn to help Cali and provide her with any samples and assitance she needs. As the Prince Lock and Cali get to know each other better, Lock uses his natural dominance to help keep Cali safe and as close to him as he can arrange. There is a strong connection between the human doctor and the Alien Prince and they both do their best to make their partnership work and wanting the cure for Prince Maxxon too. There is opposition to humans on Luminar, even though the population is mostly part human. There is also the secret faction fighting to get the humans returned to Earth but the fight is still just groups of them working on a conspiracy to make that happen. There is danger, secrets and wonderful world building, the Luminar planet has colors, animals, suns and really big gorgeous males you don't want to miss! Lock's domination of Cali is tame compared to other similar stories I've read, but Cali and Lock were really steaming hot together. We do get a happy ending eventually and that makes me very happy. I can't wait to read more about the Luminar Masters.
Dr. Cali Taylor is sent on a mission to Luminar. She is so thrilled to be going. She can’t wait to find out what her mission is. Prince Lock is as stunning as his brother, Prince Maxxon. He has a reason for sending for the doctor. Her skills as a Neuro researcher is renowned. He needs her to find a cure to what is ailing his brother but there are rules that must be followed. Cali is awe of Luminar and wants nothing more than to help. But her breaking of the rules puts her not only in danger but also under deep punishment from Lock.
I have to say, I am wondering what powers the Luminarians have over humans. It seems like they can mesmerize with their eyes and touch. I mean, I like it but WOW. Cali was like putty in Lock’s hands. It drives me crazy though that when Cali believes the doctors are hiding things to stop the research and help Maxxon and notifies Lock, he just dismisses it. UGH! You would think he would want to do anything he can.
Then we get to the good stuff. Lock is one domineering alien. In the beginning, he was holding off but when he finally is unleashed, WOW. Talk about dirty talk that is hot. And some of the things that Alien can do with his hands. Talk about panty melting.
I loved the premise of the storyline and plot. It’s a unique idea that I haven’t come across in any of the sci-fi books I’ve read. The originality of it was fantastic! I enjoyed the characters as well. Cali is a top neuro physicist on earth, she knows her stuff. Lock is a Prince on Luminar an Alien Planet. When is ruling brother falls ill and no Lumarian doctors can figure out what’s wrong. Lock requests from Earths government that Cali come help them. She agrees to go and try and help discover the mystery illness that is slowly killing Maxxon. I loved the description of the planet, the inhabitants and especially their animals. It was done so very well that I could picture the description in color and detail. What I didn’t like was the technical descriptions and jargon. I understand that it needed to be added to understand Cali’s work and what goes into it. But for me it was overdone and overwritten. Sometimes I just lost concentration while reading the medical part. I liked the second half of the book much more than the first half. Not only because there is more interaction between Cali and Lock but also because it starts to pickup and the excitement of the mystery illness starts to come to light. Can’t wait to read more from Luminar!
I liked this story! Over all they were silly enough to be relatable, which I have been finding hard to do in a lot of the newer sci-fi romance books lately. I thought the flow of the book was well done. I did not like how very dismissive Lock was of Cali, I know it was needed for the story line but I thought it didn't coincide with the idea that this planet claims that they view women and men on equal footing, regardless of how the two other doctors were seen in Locks eyes. Just a bit of a quibble there. Lastly, I thought the emotional ending between the two characters was too rushed. There was this really great build up and then, I love you. you love me! I love you! the end. Too many authors rush the emotional ending and it annoys me. Overall, a good read and not one I would pass up. Ready for book two.
It is truly fascinating and thrilling to discover a whole new world similar to ours and yet so different…
I was captivated from the beginning, starting with the description from the Lumarian human species to the planetarian flora and fauna, everything described in vivid colors… It almost felt like seeing an ethereal and beautiful painting, revived with as fascinating characters as are Lock and Cali… Both are strong personalities devoted to their duties and professions, caring for their fellow citizens and surroundings and for each other, wanting to improve the future of both worlds…
This novel is so intriguing and exciting in all aspects that I had to read it in one go and wished that it would not have ended so soon!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Calli is an Earth scientist that works with neurological diseases. She is being sent tomplanet Luminaries for a secret project. When she arrives she is told by Prince Lock that his brother His Majesty Maxxon is ill and they hope she can help. A relationship between Lock and Calli begin. Luminaries males are very dominant in the bedroom. So the relationship involves spankings for misbehaving and not obeying a direct order. She asks for the spankings, so it is not forced. She states that she is enjoying it even when she says it hurts she asks for more. There is betrayals happening in this story by several people. The middle was a little long and drawn out in my opinion, but I still liked the book. I will be reading the next story.
This book was fantastic! It takes you to a planet that is full of shirtless, hot, dominant, alpha males. Does it get better than that? It does. Let's just say you gotta read this one. The sexual talents of the aliens are amazing and tantalizing. Cali is an human doctor that travels to the planet of Luminar on a secret mission. She falls in love with not only the planet, which is full of amazing creatures, but also the Prince. Prince Lock is the epitome of a dominant alpha male. The descriptions of the planet and its creatures will paint a perfect picture in your head and bring it to life. The love scenes will turn you on and leave you breathless and tantalized. I can't wait to read more of this series!
Conquered by the Alien Prince by Rebel West is book 1 in the new alien sci-fi romance series, Luminar Masters. Wow, this book is HOT, HOT, HOT. It's a great new sci-fi world that's been created by Rebel West. It has some great characters and an engaging plot. A bit of thriller mixed in with some very hot sexy times. We are introduced to renowned human neurologist Cali and sexy, dominant alien prince of Luminar Lock. I just loved these characters, they were so fun to experience and complete opposites of each other. They have great chemistry and their journey together is a great one. I think this series has a lot of potential and I'm excited to read more from this series.
At the end of the book it lists the other 2 books, but they aren’t available anywhere! This is copied from the 2nd to last page:
“Thank you for reading, and I hope you loved this story! More books by Rebel West are available on Amazon in Kindle Unlimited. Owned by the Alien Warriors: An Alien Sci-Fi Reverse Harem Romance (Luminar Masters Book 2) Possessed by the Alien Alpha: An Alien Sci-Fi Romance (Luminar Masters Book 3) Each book is a stand-alone and can be read out of order.”
So disappointing, I would love to see how the relationship between the two planets proceed!
Cali is a neurologist who goes to an alien planet to help save their sick leader. She's immediately attracted to his brother. There are a lot of medical terminology and procedures to follow but they make sense. As she works to figure out what's wrong, she encounters rudeness, prejudice and danger. The brother, Lock, is dominant and in charge in the bedroom. He doesn't hesitate to spank her and she enjoys his attention. Standalone with an HEA ending.
Oh man oh man!!! WOW! Lock the hot sexy, Alpha dominant Alien Prince, makes you melt into a puddle of goo! Cali comes to the planet on a secret mission and can't help but think of the sexy alien Prince Lock. When these two get together it is all heat and passion and submission. I absolutely loved this story and can't wait for more from Rebel West and the world of Luminar!
Incredible story unable to put down, two worlds each needing the other with a lot of unhappy people/aliens trying to prevent this from happening! Mix in a hot romance,a sick king, and unicorns and you have the most amazing story ever! Thanks for the fantastic read 💖 💖
This book was written in such great detail that I really felt that I could actually put myself on this world and immerse myself in the culture sometimes I felt the details took away from the beautiful Love story and the ending seemed rushed but I’m going to get the next book in the series
Cali is a Dr who specializes in neurological conditions. Lock is the Prince of Luminiaria and brings Cali to his planet to help his brother Maxxum. There is sexual tension between Lock and Cali. Cali is able to help Locks brother, but is injured, but returns to be with Lock.
Great job of storytelling!! If you're interested in some majorly incredible writing then you just have to get this one. An alien world, a sick monarch and the doctor who wants to cure the whole thing. Amazing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this quick, sexy read. The chemistry between Lock and Cali is instantaneous. I enjoyed her sense of humor and her quick wit and intelligence. Lock was definitely her perfect match. Definitely going to enjoy this series
I can't wait to binge read the rest of this series. This first book pulled me in with characters I cared about, on a fascinating planet, with a fast paced story that I couldn't put down. Enjoy!
What a wonderful book.. I can not believe how strongly I like this book. The plot is wonderful and the characters are fully developed and amazing. Love it. Well the time to read.
It's the first book from Rebel West that I read and I absolutely love it. Love characters and world she created, highly recommend this book to be read !
