Trish Morey

Trish Morey always fancied herself a writer, but was sternly advised that she better better think about getting a real job instead. Which Trish figures must be why she spent her university years washing dishes in a Chinese restaurant by night and picking gherkins for an Adelaide Hills primary producer by day. (Enough to put you off "real jobs" for life).

It was another twelve years, an accounting career and two babies on that Trish once again turned her mind to writing. it was a further eleven years (and two more babies:)) before Trish sold her first book to Harlequin Presents, and her dream of being a published author came true.

Some forty books later, Trish is now an award winning and USA Today Bestselling Author of some 40+ books. Trish still loves writing romance but these days combines it with all the fun, drama and sisterhood of women, family and girlfriends.

When she’s not out traveling the world in search of inspiration for her stories, Trish lives with her husband, Daisy their over enthusiastic Cavoodle pup, Daisy, and Leo, their very old and totally unenthusiastic cat, down on the glorious South Coast of South Australia where the waves crash over the granite rocks and splash upon the golden sands.

Trish reckons she has the best job in the world.

The heroine felt like a gold digger and an opportunist. The hero was underdeveloped and just didn't do it for me. I like Trish Morey's books but this one was disappointing.

This was a good read -- interesting story, good emotional/sexual tension. The main downside for me was that I didn't really like the hero. I prefer heros to have strong ethics/morals in general (which are hidden from us in the beginning due to misunderstandings, or which only don't apply to the heroine). In this one it seemed more like the hero had questionable morals which he supposedly changed at the end because of love for the heroine -- I'd prefer he be a good guy from the beginning. A decent read though.

Dante & Mackenzie
🔥🔥

SHOCKING is all I can say about this story. It contains sexual assault against the heroine from the hero. Calling him a hero is not a word I'd describe him as. And the heroine has too low self-esteem to realise that the hero assaulted her.
This book is going straight in the recycling bin.

There's nothing like finding a naked woman in your bedroom suite.

Dante Carrazzo is out for revenge. The last step to satisfying his thirst for revenge lie in the destruction of Ashton House. Nothing stands in his way, except maybe Mackenzi Keogh, the green eyed siren he finds naked in his bed -- who to his surprise, happens to be the manager of Ashton House.

After a night of pleasure and the revelation that the stern manager is actually the whore/ "care package" from the night before, Dante makes a startling proposition. He will give Mackenzi the opportunity to convince him that Ashton House should not be torn down, if she'll become his mistress!

In order to save her beloved hotel, Mackenzi accepts.

Overall, I really liked this book. It had everything I love in a Harlequin Presents: a spunky heroine, a tough alpha hero, and lots of steamy sex. My rating would have been much higher, except for the fact that the plot seemed ripped from Pretty Woman. I didn't have a huge problem with it, but it pulled me out of the story often enough that I had to note it. (A-)

Mackenzi was willing to do almost anything to save her beloved hotel. Falling in love with the new owner, was not the plan, but became the reality. Learning Dante's secrets, made her love him even more.

A really sweet story.
