The first volume in Scott Parker's acclaimed Recordings Of Frank Zappa series chronicles the onstage adventures of FZ and the Mothers Of Invention from 1963 through 1969. Includes a complete discography of the era including official and unofficial releases.
Splendid research tool. This is part the first in what promises to be many more volumes includiong. but not limited to, - all official discographic info, including scans of the* record labels themselves and all known international variations - Bootlegs produced that contain FZ music etc for the given period - a synopsis of ALL KNOWN SHOWS, song by song perrformed, with, - a word for word transcript of Frank's extemporaneous addresses, song by song, show by show . . . - videograhy of the period, official, commercial and otherwise AND MORE!!! plus the author's a really nice guy!
No plot, not a story with little dots for periods, but a chronology, an account (with pictures!!! -) with this as just one part of a very long, very big note whose heirs continue to poot forth in - you guessed it, different unexpected directions. No, Scott is not an official heir but I think he deserves the label for his difficult and fidelity filled work. Thanks man!
